Pier 51

Lovely place on the lake in Hannover. Glass windows all around, not only make the atmosphere modern and beautiful, but allow to take the most from the view of the lake. Great to be here at any time of the day to enjoy the different colours of the sun on the lake. Service is attentive, food is international. Salmon is highly recommended.

Modern dining beside the Maschsee. The gnocchi I had was very good although the first piece I ate was still cold on the inside. Otherwise, the service was impeccable and the restaurant seems to run with elegant efficiency.

One of the best restaurants in Hannover, with the best view of the lake. Food is served faster but not many choices. Would recommend during the evening and Sunset for the best experience of the lake side also enjoying a beer. Could have more vegetarian options.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere. The service was exceptional. Christine went out of her way to make us feel taken care of. We will certainly be returning.

We were outside in the more casual bar cafe area. Great view but it's a bit overpriced for a quasi self service location. The food selection is tasty but extremely limited.

Large portions and a bit too heavy for summer, misses some more light dishes with chanterelles. But overall good service, relaxing atmosphere in a stunning setting right at the lake!!!

Local hangout place. Nice relaxing outdoor seatings to get fries ,bratwurst ,wine and beer . Love their fries! It has reddish seasonings- it is not lawrys:) Yummy Brat with curry powder dusting on top !

Mother of God, this restaurant is FANTASTIC. The Wife and I went to Pier 51 in Hannover for the first time a couple weeks ago, and our taste buds have been ruined ever since. All food, everywhere else, now comes as a disappointment. The food we make in our own kitchen seems sad and lifeless in comparison to the hot magic they are making over at Pier 51. I cannot express to you how good our experience really was. The view over the Maschsee was stellar. The service was perfect. My wine glass was refilled as if by ghosts. My broken German was easily understood. The other customers were all relaxed and quiet -- probably because they were rich enough to afford Pier 51's prices without worrying about making rent. This place is not cheap. We had a gift certificate and we went positively apesh*t. We ordered 3-course meals, plus 2 appetizers, 1 bottle of wine and a dessert. It ran us €115 euros. That's just under $150 American dollars, or the price of approximately 32 half-liters of Beck's beer (if you decide not to go to Pier 51 and instead go to a German soccer bar to get hammered with your bros). Pier 51 is my favorite restaurant in Hannover. I have been to about 20 and I keep coming back to this place season after season. First of all it has the best location, located practically smack in the middle of the Marchsee. It has almost an exotic scenic feel in a town with literally no view whatsoever, A glass and wood box surrounded by water that is inviting even in a rainstorm, in fact I recommend it in the rain. The restaurants in Hannover offer two basic atmospheres, charming/stuffy old world and nouveau, Pier 52 is the later, with contemporary décor, sexy lighting and, dramatic flower arrangements. If you visit in warmer weather the deck is a great spot to relax with friends outside in comfy booths and watch the crew teams and ducks. The lively ambiance aside, Pier 51 has other merits, the drinks, the service and the food; in that order. We, my boyfriend and I, are really fond of Pier 51's giant Aperol spritzers. This is a drink that isn't difficult to make, having only two ingredients, but you'd be surprised on the variations we get, none that beg describing. Pier 51 does them justice. We also like their wine list, affordable and more than adequate. Aside from our great affection for the bar staff, particularly Uli and Peter, the wait staff is friendly and efficient. We tend to stick to appetizers, and have tried them all many times. My favorites are the carpaccio platter and the smoked fish on greens. The menu is as light, tasty and inventive as any modern cuisine in Hannover. And even after eating only a selection of appetizers we roll out of there, sated and happy. I've yet to have a salad properly dressed anywhere, in Germany, but Pier 51 gets and A for effort. Desserts and coffee never fail. All in all perfect for an intimate evening or business dinner. Beautiful room for a party.

After reading the reviews, I was very excited to come here. I was NOT disappointed - this restaurant is great! The beet root soup is probably the best thing I have ever eaten. We also ordered beef carpaccio, the duck and a chicken dish. The scene is very pretty - along the river. Its a romantic place. I recommend making a reservation - even on a Monday night.
