This Is The Most Walkable City in the U.S. for 2025

Had an amazing visit to Pier 62 on a beautiful sunny day, perfect for some great photo opportunities. The views of the water and city skyline were stunning, making it a top spot to just relax and soak it all in. The pier itself is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of space to walk around and enjoy the fresh air. Definitely a must-stop if you’re passing through Seattle perfect for both sightseeing and snapping some memorable shots. Five stars all the way!

Located next to Pike Place Market and the aquarium, this spot offers a great view of the cruise ships and the sea. It’s a scenic area, and in May, the temperature was around the low teens (Celsius). We made a brief but pleasant stop there.

I was booked to do sound baths on this pier and it is absolutely magical! Friends of Seattle Waterfront has done a beautiful job making this a place where you definitely want to stop and take in the view. It is down further than a lot of the attractions and ferry terminals so it’s quite peaceful and there are big chairs and tables to sit and enjoy. I can imagine taking some food you got from the farmers market and trekking over to here to enjoy it. There’s a small turf soccer patch and life-size chess board that are fun to play. There are bathrooms and there is water although that might be locked up when the pier closes, if the pier closes that is. If you check the schedule online, you’ll see that there are great activities throughout the summer, including Zumba, yoga, dance parties, and more.

Just went here for the first time and it was so beautiful! It's nice to have a relaxing place to find your piece of mind. There are plenty of seats and you get a great view of Seattle around you.

Yelp
I'm glad they are finally improving the area. It's finally worth visiting. A great spot to just hang at for a bit by the water. I like that they have built it outdoor games/activities to enjoy. I'm sure the little ones will appreciate this feature. The beer garden and dj was also a really nice touch. I hope they do more beer garden activities soon. One downside I found is there isn't much seating. I wanted to bring lunch and hang for a bit but after 20 minutes of waiting we just couldn't lock down a table fast enough. Also when I came for the block party I found the same situation but worse. One thing that would help, more food trucks, even if they are just near the entrance.

Yelp
What a fun spot on the water front. One of the piers in downtown Seattle. This particular spot has plenty of chairs for sitting. Chairs good for a snuggle and or a single person. A small soccer field. A large chess board and a small stage. No shows tonight. A couple honeydew for emergency. Bathrooms in downtown Seattle are usually in restaurants and not many public toilets. In a pinch you can use these. The views from this pier are spectacular. Parking in the area is sketchy. I'm usually on foot so no need for a parking lot. Great spot. Worth a visit. SYOY!

Yelp
A wonderful and beautiful place for walks during the day and in the evening. One of my favorite places, there is a market nearby where you can eat delicious food.

Yelp
Pier 62 is a great place to sit if you've picked up food from Pike Place Market. Will it be nicer when the new Aquarium wing opens and there's possibly an easier way to access it from the Market? Yes, that would be ideal. But as it is they have community games, fairs, and weekend showcases like breakdancing during the Summer, although during the Winter it goes largely unused. The crowd here tends to lean largely towards tourists from the cruise ships, so you'll see a lot of very young children getting into accidents on scooters and loud public meltdowns, but if you're walking along the waterfront all in all it's not a bad place to rest.

Yelp
Pier 62 is a relatively new rest area along the waterfront. Majority of the space is at street level, which is elevated from the water. There is a ramp on one side that you can walk down to be at the water level; it's a floating dock with a good view (see photo). If you walk onto the floating dock, you can see fishes swimming in the water (see photo). The space is normally set up with chairs. It's a good place to just relax if you need a breather from sightseeing, shopping, or just to have a snack. Along the waterfront, you might find entrepreneurs selling their foods, so this is a good place to sit comfortably and rest, too. Not to cause any misunderstanding, if you are a tourist and wondering if this is a good place to add to your itinerary, chances are the answer is no. There is normally nothing here, except as a convenient place to rest. There might be porta-potties here, if you need a restroom. Not sure if it's always available though. At other times, mini fairs and mini concerts are held here. I had come here during the summertime because a Korean fair was being held here (July 16th, to be exact). It was a very good use of this outdoor space.

Yelp
Relaxing place to get some fresh air and have an amazing view of the bay, mountains, and the city in the background. There was plenty of outdoor red seating to relax on lined along the pier. It was a refreshing time playing some outdoor games like, chess, soccer, and cornhole, with the family. The pier was spacious and full of plenty of seating to soak up some sun.

Yelp
I'm so happy the construction of this pier is complete; it offers an amazing view of the coast!! It's really clean, and offers ample seating to enjoy the coastal air. There are several hand sanitizer stations, hands free game areas, portable potties (if you absolutely can't hold it,) presence of downtown ambassadors (to ensure the pier remains family friendly,) and easy listening music playing (courteous of Amazon Music.) If you're in the area ,and looking to take a break from walking definitely choose Pier 62!!!

Yelp
It's great that the waterfront has a space where one can play large chess/checkers, get food from food trucks and enjoy a seat on the pier, watching the waves roll in and out, boats float by, and sea-life doing its thing. We may have happened upon a summer festival, hence the covered canopies, games, food trucks, but it's still BBD a nice stopping point amidst the bustling summer waterfront.

Yelp
If you need an escape from downtown Seattle, come to Pier 62. It's a long pier overlooking Elliott Bay with tables and games set up. If you need a more quiet spot, walk down to the pier where the boats launch. It's open to the public and so peaceful.

Yelp
It was a fun filled weekend. We got to watch "Grieves & All Star Opera" live. While celebrating Bae's Birthday. Just vibing and enjoying the good music .

Yelp
Newly updated for the post Viaduct scene. They created a pretty decent public gathering space here for mass enjoyment. There are games to play with people, and plenty of chairs for people to take a small respite on their downtown walk. Not really a destination place, but definitely enjoyable location to enjoy the weather and watch the world go by. They did have some portable toilets available, but I really wish they could do better. Overall it is pretty bland park, but definitely not a blight. It could stand some creature comforts or more nature. Not sure how you win that in this location, but you're surrounded by all the famous parts of the Seattle waterfront, so you really can't go wrong.

Yelp
This is a great place for out of town guests to enjoy the best Seattle views for as long as you'd like. Nice for bringing a bite from a restaurant. Not too crowded. Sometimes some performers. Amazing views.

Yelp
Piers 62 & 63 are a perfect destination for an evening stroll if you live up on Queen Anne, Capitol or First Hill. There are always a lot of tourists in the waterfront area but I think this makes for good people watching, plus it is always fun to drop a 'Guten Tag' on the German peoples. If you are one of those people who do not wear shoes or travel exclusively by skateboard, I would steer clear of this park since it is a huge platform made of untreated wooden planks.

Yelp
Not being from Seattle, I relied on Yelp to show me the way. I bookmarked this pier hoping for the grand views and a serene experience like my predecessors had had before me. Maybe it was because I came directly from Pike Place Market and my senses were still in high "everything is so stimulating" mode and it was rainy weather, I just looked out onto the pier and was like, "This got 4 star reviews? It's just a large platform." Having said that, I could appreciate that it offers peace and great views, but on this day I just kept walking. If you're looking for a pier with action, like you get at The Market, don't come here. If you want quiet time with views, stop by on a nice day.

Yelp
There is something about this pier that makes me love it. I fell in love with it the first time I visited Seattle and am still in love with the views and feelings of peace this pier offers me. The pier is quite simple with a few chairs and a ping pong table. The views are beautiful. It's usually not a busy place, so it's a perfect place to spend some alone time reflecting on your life. I almost didn't want to give it a 5 star review because I don't want a lot of people to start coming to this peaceful place. =)

Yelp
Get up close to Elliott Bay. Great view of West Seattle, the Cascades and the downtown skyline. You also get an closeup view of all the development nearby like the residential high rises. I was mesmerized by this place as the sun set. Definitely worth the walk down from Pike's public market.

Yelp
Opportunity permitting during dusk and evening hours you might catch rows of squid fishers casting out under their bright lights that dance over the dark waters. The calamari loving fishers come from the far corners of Seattle and beyond to fish from this particular pier because of the reputable sea harvest.

Yelp
I have been here both in the Winter and Summer. I say that you should go in the Summer. It's fun to walk around and see the sights and window shop.

Yelp
Simply beautiful and breath taking! I left my heart in Seatlle. Clean and spacious. It is a Great place to be at anytime of the year!!

Yelp
I admit that I'm very fond of this location and that I've spent a great deal of time here during this past summer. It is the perfect location along the waterfront and is in easy walking distance to most of downtown Seattle. It's expansive and allows you to have your "space" while others walk by, lean against a railing or simply bask in the sun or the pier itself. The view is gorgeous and at the end of the pier itself, you can look behind you and see a pretty decent view of the Seattle skyline.

Yelp
The best place in Seattle for quiet and views of the city, Mt Rainier, Elliott Bay and the Olympics.

Yelp
Beautiful scenery as you pull away from shore. It's like a puzzle where you just keep picking out major public tourist sites, businesses, sporting arenas, mother nature, etc.
