Stayed for two nights and were really impressed with the resort! The pool and hot tub area weren’t huge but it was fine for our kids. I did feel bad for the adults without kids in the hot tub though because there was a constant stream of kids running in and out between the pool and hot tub. The hot tub being outside was really cool, but it could’ve been 10 degrees warmer. The rooms were very comfortable and nice- only complaint being that the shower, while modern, was a “half glass” style that ended up just leaving the entire area soaked afterwards. The door to the bathroom is barn style, which again modern, but also served as the closet door which meant if someone was in the bathroom trying to come out while someone was in the closet, the person in the closet got hit by the door. We were put on the dog friendly floor, which they okayed with us ahead of time, and it was completely fine outside of a short period of barking around 1030pm. The location was great and while we didn’t use the shuttle service, we thought that was a really nice perk. The kids loved the lounge area with all of the games and the many different patios on the different floors. The s’mores each night were also a fun touch. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but heard good things. The water side view was gorgeous, but the other views were pretty industrial and not super appealing, but we didn’t mind and preferred to pay less for a less exciting view. We would love to return in the summer months to do the lake walk and take advantage of the fun outdoor space.

I booked 2 nights and on the way up I called about their buy 2 nights get one free. I was quoted over the phone that it would only be $3 more than my original price for 2 nights so I said, well ya!!. I even questioned her. Are you sure? She assured me that it was correct. We got to the check in process and the manager on duty who was checking us in said that a mistake was made and it was actually $190 more for the buy 2 nights get one free because we had the 20% off price on the 2 night special. She continued to explain why the mistake was made and i just said. I understandthay a mistake was made and i really didn't care about the details but shouldn't you honor the price i was quoted by your staff? Is it just me or shouldn't the price quoted been honored even though they made a mistake? I won't be staying here again due to how they decided to handle their mistake .. great room except for mold in the shower, great food.. spendy,no fresh coffee downstairs. Too busy to refill it.great view but management??

We recently stayed at Pier B Resort during the Bentleyville Tour of Lights, and it was the perfect choice for a family getaway. Here’s why we loved it: Unbeatable Views: We booked a harbor view room, and it was worth every penny. Being able to see the harbor and the glow of the Bentleyville lights right from our window made the atmosphere so special. The Outdoor Hot Tub: This was a highlight! Soaking in the outdoor hot tub while looking out over the cold harbor was a fantastic experience. Family Fun: The resort is very kid friendly. You can collect s’mores kits from the front desk to roast by the fire pits. Our kids absolutely loved this little perk. Comfortable Rooms: The rooms are well maintained, clean, and provided a great home base for our trip. Overall, if you are visiting Duluth for the holidays, this is the place to stay. We will definitely be back.

Me and my husband stayed at Pier B Resort for our mini-moon. When we first arrived we were very impressed with the landscaping and attention to detail, you can tell they take pride in making the outside look nice. When we got inside we were treated with friendly staff. We stayed in the king patio and the room was as pictured, clean, and we loved the tall ceilings, it made the room feel big and luxurious. Our bedroom door let right out to the fire pits overlooking the lake and hot tub which was convenient. They also have marshmallow kits for s’mores if you wanted a late night treat. Silos restaurant was lovely, great food, drinks and service! Tony the bartender is phenomenal and made for a fun experience. The resort offers a shuttle service with no cost which we really appreciated and used frequently, Nick and Kelsie are awesome! The resort also offers discounted rates for near by activities. We met a lot of wonderful people and pets, it was hard leaving such a beautiful location but we can’t wait to come back again soon. I highly recommend staying here if you want a one of a kind beautiful, relaxing experience.

Google
Pier B is a beautiful hotel is a picturesque setting- especially during Bentleyville! This is our second stay here but I don't know if we'll be back unfortunately. Last year, our room overlooked Bentleyville and it was perfect: king bed with a whirlpool. I had NO idea that I was getting proposed to that night at Bentleyville! It was a dream come true! Fast forward to this year and my husband wanted to celebrate our engagement by going back to the place it all started. Our room was a typical double queen room. We had an amazing time at Bentleyville and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. When we got back to our room, however, the windows were dirty- it looked like someone had smeared their finger all over them- and when I pulled back the covers on one of the beds, there was a suspicious brown stain on the sheet. It did not appear that those sheets were changed from the previous guests. Thankfully the other bed linens were clean!! I'm highly disappointed for the quality of the room given the price I paid.

Google
A great location with a light walk to Canal Park along the waterfront. The hot tub is perfect after a day of hiking up north. The bar has an extensive selection and a good cocktail menu. The rooms are clean and well kept. The bathrooms are very well designed and always clean. The only complaint I have is the additional charge for high speed internet and the slow smart features of the tv's in the room.

Google
We've stayed here the last two years for Bentleyville! We pay extra for the Harborview and overlooking Bentleyville. Never had an issue. It's dog-friendly which is nice, but we'd never bring our beast of a dog 🤣 Free smores is nice, the outdoor hot tub is wonderful! The wagon ride to from Bentleyville is also wonderful. A must stay!

Google
My mom & I had a girls fall getaway! We watched a traveling Broadway play at the DECC & Pier B provided a free shuttle to & from the show! It was soooo nice to not have to worry about transportation, or parking - just got dropped off at the front doors. It's a beautiful hotel (picture is from a nice seating area overlooking the canal & lift bridge) that seemed to have everything but a coffee bar for the morning. They had regular coffee in the lobby on a side table. I prefer a good cappuccino or latte - which, for the price of a night's stay, I think it's a fair request (& maybe even some breakfast pastries &/or sandwiches). That's the reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Yelp
This hotel property is classy from Front Desk staff to Housekeeping. The rooms are contemporary, well-appointed and spacious. I would, however give a grudging rate of 1 out of 10 for the service at their restaurant, Silo's. The quality of food was good, but the attention given to a diner was poor. As a hotel guest. I was there on a slow Wednesday evening. I had a difficult time getting a drink and dinner service from the server and bartender.

Yelp
Pier B Resort is an awful place- rude staff, shoddy rooms, inadequate on site restaurant, and pets ARE allowed. One- pets are allowed. All of the common areas, including the two tiny guest elevators were consistently full of dogs. The hallways, the deck with the fire pits, sports court and game area, the parking lot, the lawn- all full of dogs. Perhaps great for dog owners, not so great for those of us with allergies or if you just don't stay at hotels to share space with dogs. Two- Our supposed "non-pet friendly" room was shoddy (see photos) with dirty carpet, a huge water damage stain on the ceiling and an accompaniment of fleas. You cannot allow pets throughout the property and expect to keep fleas and ticks contained in certain rooms. There was a tiny walk-in shower (photos) with only one glass panel. I understand that some large walk-in showers do not have door(s). But this one is far too small for that. No door to close on this just meant lots of water on the bathroom floor. Three- the staff was rude. Enough has been said here in other reviews about the bad behavior of the staff, so I feel no need to add another nasty story. Four- Silo, the on site restaurant was booked solid with groups that were not even staying at the hotel. The restaurant staff would not seat us, because the tables were all reserved. We were also told that this meant no in-room service. We and the other guests of the hotel waiting in line were told that we would have to go elsewhere or call some establishment that will deliver. I would only recommend this place to people who lie down with dogs. It's Motel 6 with a view.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my stay at Pier B! My husband and I were in Duluth doing some house hunting and brought my brother along because he used to live in the area. First of all, the rooms are beautiful, as was the view. We loved being in a room with not just beds but a few comfy chairs and a desk as well. The shower was HOT, which I absolutely loved. Lots of space to put clothes away and lots of towels and pillows. We were able to use the hot tub and that was super fun, as was the indoor pool. We dined at the restaurant both mornings we were there. Absolutely get the French toast. And we hung out in the bar and had awesome service to Lexie who had us laughing the whole night. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Spent our Thursday night at the hotel resort. It was very quiet and not quite busy. Staff were attentive and friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable, although the bed was hard it was pleasant. We had no problems with the room or noise level. I would recommend to anyone wanting to spend the night or weekend away from the cities. A lot of amenities and outdoor activities that are available.

Yelp
Great hotel to stay at, especially with kids. Feels safe and there is a lot to do at and around the hotel

Yelp
We went here for a small holiday get together with 5 of us. We had our little cocker spaniel with us and it was December, cold and windy. We found that the resort would allow us to have a window seat inside, but not in the restaurant but we could order from the Silo restaurant and they delivered our food to us at the table in the courtyard inside where we could see the Bentleyville lights. It was a very memorable time and so festive and nicely decorated. We will do this again next year:) Thank you Pier B Resort

Yelp
Horrifying Incident - UNSAFE and Poorly Managed I saw one of the most appalling incidents I've ever seen at this restaurant, and I 'd like to warn others. This happened on 12/29/24 evening around 8 pm. A woman dining with three children was playing a game of Jenga (something the manager allowed, as it's part of the resort experience). When the blocks fell, a man nearby became super angry, threw his beer at the woman and the children, and yelled, "Go to McDonald's, b****!" What made this horrifying incident even worse was the reaction of the Restaurant manager. Despite witnessing the assault, the manager did nothing to protect the woman and children. Instead, he asked them to leave the restaurant, as if they had done something wrong. The Manager should have called the Cops but instead, to add insult to injury, he comped the man's bill before finally asking him and his wife to leave. It was clear the manager and the man were friends, which likely explains the completely biased handling of the situation. As a guest at the resort, I was disgusted by the lack of accountability and the unsafe environment at this resort...which i've liked over the years. I will never be returning to this resort or restaurant, and I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking a safe, family-friendly environment. Avoid this place at all costs--families and decent people deserve far better.

Yelp
From the moment that we walked in, we loved this place. They were very dog friendly and the staff is outstanding! The view was beautiful and the hot tub is second to none! The wood fires on the lake and the complimentary smore supplies were an amazing touch! Staff was attentive and friendly and helpful in every way...the grounds are wonderful and clean for the pups that they welcome as family! My husband and myself were extremely grateful for the entire experience! They even gave us recommendations for our stay! (I would suggest the Boat House) but the restaurant, Silos, was awesome too! (Try the breakfast potatoes in the morning. They are like little happiness nuggets). The room was clean and well appointed with lovely sheets, extra blankets, and dog treats, toys, and poop bags. We will be coming back! Thank you for your hospitality!

Yelp
Lovely resort with awesome amenities year round. In November we enjoyed the outdoor hot tub overlooking the bay. Rooms were very clean, beds were comfy. No noise issues. Would love to come back in the summer and kayak and bring the dog. Highly recommend trying out the sauna and cold plunge next door!

Shane M.

Yelp
I love this place. We have been coming since they first opened. We come different times of the year. Spring. Summer. Winter. Fall. Its always a great time. Beautiful views. Large, quiet rooms. Great beds and bedding. Nice to have a full restaurant on site. We take advantage of the bikes in the warmer months. Love sitting by the lake with a fire going too. We also love that it is dog friendly and bring our pup everytime we visit. Will be back many times

Yelp
Nice hotel but we were right next to a door that led to wedding venue. There were 2 weddings the first 2 nights and on our last night there were kids playing soccer in the hallway after 10pm. Loved that it is dog friendly.

Yelp
We have stayed all over in Duluth at all price points. This wasn't the nicest, but we enjoyed being in a different part of town. Great area away from busy Canal Park, but close enough to take a pretty walk over. Neat to be by docks and boats and on the harbor side of Lake Superior. We would stay here again as we can bring our dog. That is priceless.

Yelp
First and foremost, the resort is dog friendly which made us choose this place with a one time charge of $ 60.00 pet charge. Pros: -Pedal bikes which we spent a lot of time doing and cruising around on. --Great workout and get to peddle all around the resort. -Fire pits and tables- two big bonfires and 3 + fire pit tables. -Complimentary smore kits each night. - Clean rooms - Restaurant on site (if you choose) - Indoor pool -Outdoor hot tub - Scenic grounds and well kept - Close enough walk to canal park -Dog treats, toys, bandanas, waste bags -Friendly staff - Mini fridge in room - Complimentary newspapers, magazines -Updated decor Cons: - 4pm check in which is late in my opinion, but they did get us in around 2. - Cleaning service you have to schedule (not a biggie) - Restaurant prices are expensive. - Pricey -a lot of the dates are always booked. -Stains on bedspreads which give me the creeps- Thanks Dateline NBC! Other: -Ballrooms -Close to canal park (10 min walk) - Free parking -Boat Slip -Paddle boats -Scenery Pet floor is on the second floor. Most people pick up after themselves, the rooms are clean and don't smell like pets. Would definitely stay again!

Yelp
It was my first time staying at Pier B Resort and it was a high quality experience. This resort is a bit secluded from the rest of Duluth and was surrounded by manufacturing sites. You definitely get a great view of the Aerial Lift Bridge and is conveniently next to Canal Park. They offer amenities such as the fire pits, hot tub, free bikes, and equipment for outdoor activity (ping pong, basketball, badminton, etc.) My family really enjoyed the free s'mores kits and had so much fun making s'mores while listening to live music. We didn't get an opportunity to try their food, but it looked very busy! The only thing is, I am not too sure if it gets foggy often in Duluth, but I paid extra for a better view and it was foggy 90% of the time. Could barely see a thing! But overall, it was such a great time for my family and I. The room and resort were very clean, although I would always recommend wiping everything twice! Also, the shower did not have a shower curtain and it was very open.. the water splashed everywhere

Yelp
A dog friendly hotel in a great location for Duluth visitors. We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Pier B. Great amount of parking, fabulous décor inside and out, immediately noted the convenience of the hotel location to popular things to do (the aquarium, canal park, train museum, etc.). Also, all of the staff were so lovely. They were so kind to us and our son and gave our dog lots of attention. They have a doggie station in the lobby with treats, doggy bags, bandanas and tennis balls. For people, the hotel offers a few treats throughout the day. At one point, they put out a large tray of cookies for guests and later in the evening, they provide smores fixins which you can make at their fire pits behind the hotel overlooking the harbor. Everywhere we looked in this hotel was always neat and clean. The room was perfect for our stay. Our son had a great first hotel experience and our pupper was thrilled he could join us instead of being left at home. We will absolutely stay here again for a future North Short getaway :)

Yelp
We came to the North Shore for a quick getaway. My husband booked us room at Pier B and am o ever happy about that! The staff are really friendly and the hotel is very clean. Even though we don't have a dog I am happy this is a pet friendly resort. Silos Restaurant is also very good.
google avatar

Marnie K.

Yelp
Lovely, clean and modern. Classy enough for a romantic getaway but casual enough to bring the kids. The rooms are clean, spacious and have comfortable beds. The rooms on the lakeside of the hotel have amazing views and all the rooms have large windows to let in lots of light. The only downside is on summer weekends there's usually very loud concerts next door and you'll hear it all if you're in a room that faces that way.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Absolutely recommend. The view of the port and bridge fireside with a drink in hand. downside, drinks at the bar are weak. Old fashioned looked like. 1oz pour or less. The food was 6 out of 10, I ordered the New York strip that they grill on their fire pit kitchen and it was cooked with too high a heat. The outside was well done and the inside was warm rare. The flavor came solely from the herb butter, which was excellent. Entire staff was exceptional. Oh oh oh the chocolate cake was also excellent. Not overly sweet and yet rich chocolate flavor.

Yelp
Not such a fan. I've read so many great reviews but we just didn't feel it. From check in to check out we had an uncomfortable experience. Plus it was expensive, relatively speaking. Our room was $400 a night and we were really hoping for something more. We checked in early and our room wasn't ready. No problem. We ran the credit card, signed the forms and got checked in. We then left for an afternoon of exploring. When we got back it was as if we had never been there. They wanted to run the credit card again, get new forms signed, had to have me prove the credit card had already been charged for my room. Dinner was outstanding. Breakfast was very good. We loved the s'mores. With a little more organization and attention to detail this could be great.

Yelp
Our first time dining here and it was exactly all the buzz was about! Beautiful restaurant, excellent service, drinks and food were superb! My husband and I had a date night and the silos was the chosen destination. Our arrival we came into a busy restaurant due to Bentleyville happening next door. But we were sat right away and our table was ready for us. We got our menus and ordered our drinks and appetizer. The flow of service was next level. Our server Michelle was awesome. Her timings were perfect for when we wanted to order drinks, and food. I was beyond happy with our waitress. At some places waiter/waitresses keep checking in. Well Michelle's timing was perfection. We never had to ask for refills on drinks she was right there to take care of us. Timing on food was perfect. And her recommendations were spot on. The food was amazing. My husband and I started off with walleye cakes. These left us wanting more and more. After we enjoyed salmon with rice pilaf and truffled potatoes. We also enjoyed a center cut ribeye with green beans and squash with garlic mashed potatoes. Both entrees were nothing less that perfect. The only thing I wish is the salmon had skin on but this didn't bother me. The dish was still amazing. And don't get me started on the sweetheart cake! The cake was rich and delicious accompanied by delicious whipped cream. The whole experience was amazing even for a busy night, the atmosphere was still relaxed and professional. We will definitely be back again!

Brinn D.

Yelp
When we arrived the staff was very friendly, we got up to our room and it appeared clean. We quickly found dirty sheets (blood) and a dirty hair tie on the desk. We called the front desk right away and thankfully the staff changed the sheets. Wouldn't have been as bad if I hadn't paid as much as I did.

Yelp
On July 7 my husband and I went to Duluth. It was our get away after him working 7 days a week since March. We choose Pier B, because it looked like a great place to unwind. We arrived and went to our room it looked beautiful. For 460.00 one night, it should. I did not look around the room due to the price and over all appearance looked clean. The next morning I got up to take a shower and while taking a shower I noticed hair all over the wall. I already started my shower so I had no choice but to finish. Got ready to go down stairs to complain and noticed there was no hard ware in the peep hole of 335. When I went down stairs and brought it to a manager attention. She thanked me and said have a nice day. Really? I stated that I had stayed in cheaper rooms that was cleaner with more privacy. She smiled and said I will take some off your bill later when I have a chance. So out of 460.00 she was nice enough to take off 60.33. Unbelievable! I own my own company, when I am in the wrong I make sure my customers know that I am sorry about any issues that I have caused them. I assume Pier B is so big they do not care about their customers just the money.

Laural P.

Yelp
Poor customer service and snotty attitude. Just wanted a few cocktails with family after the death of our mother this Easter and totally unwilling to accommodate seating for us together even outside the restaurant/bar.

Yelp
Beautiful setting spoiled by drones buzzing. Management should do something about it.

After a minor flaw in our travel plans for our honeymoon, we managed to snag a night here with our dogs for our last night before going home. Getting our reservation and checking in was a breeze with Clare and Cody at the front, who were incredibly kind and accommodating for our last minute reservation. Katrina at the restaurant was the same, and made it possible for us to get a pickup order for dinner JUST as we were getting there even though it was so close to close. The next morning we were also impressed with service from Emma at the front desk with our checkout process. Highly recommend doing the pickup breakfast to go! The views from this hotel can't be beat in Duluth, with awesome amenities, a pool and hot tub open late, and walking distance from the aquarium! So many places for the dogs to walk outside too. We will DEFINITELY be back for a longer stay.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time up here for a family wedding. The hotel however was not worth the price. It's a nice building but mattresses were lumpy and soft as were pillows. No breakfast in the morning before a departure was a real bummer. It is purely self service which it should not be, based on price. Had to drive around looking for food in the morning and there is also no room service. Not what I'd expect for $380 a night.

Yelp
Apparently when you give a bad review, the manager instead of contacting you and trying to remedy the situation, just bans you.... **Note: after the first issue three years ago the activity manager did message me after the fact, with a very different, very made up story from her employees that were on shift, a lot different than the actual events that started the issues with Pier B Marina (refusing to open the bridge to let boaters out, threatening to charge a room fee for using the "free" transient docks, having none of one manager's policies match the next manager on shift and so on). She did not attempt to fix the situation either, she did tell us a lot of policy/ways things were supposed to work that did not happen when we were there... The funny thing is all my comments were about not going to Pier B on a boat anyhow because of the mistreatment and terrible service we received, I never said anything bad about the hotel/bar... What a joke!!! I recently found out I was banned by Pier B after leaving a review on a third party site. This was after they had already blocked me from FB and deleted older reviews I had left and creepily contacted others that had commented on my FB posts to say I was being untruthful. Yet they never contacted me... Ridiculous. I will be taking my money, friends, and boat to the Clear Water Grille or Barkers Island, that's for sure!

Yelp
Stayed a week ago. Dog friendly room. This is our 4 or 5th stay. Always great room. Great bed! Great sheets! We enjoy the outdoor fire pits and views of the Lake. Nothing to not like except room prices on weekend during events. Looks like Pier B has added more fun new things to do since our last visit but it was to cold to try out the cart rides. Food is great at their restaurant too! Thx Pier B for helping our vacation be great!

Yelp
I'll start with the good: really great location. Very nice walk to canal park and the DECC for a concert. Beautiful view of the harbor. Awesome outdoor jacuzzi year round. Up to date, industrial chic look. Clean room. Kitchen open late. Check in staff was helpful and very friendly. The not so good: beds are terrible. My husband and I slept in two different beds because we would roll towards each other on a single bed. Rooms are NOT sound proof. We could actually hear someone peeing in their bathroom through the walls. Restaurant Sunday breakfast buffet was just not good. Regular dry scrambled eggs and rancheros style, rubbery pancakes and a bit better French toast. Rubbery sausage links and okay bacon. A nice selection of fresh fruit and pastries. Really bad coffee. Restaurant staff seemed inattentive. I had to walk up to the hostess stand to ask for cream for my coffee. Water was never refilled. Even worse: while waiting for coffee cream, I saw the guy behind the grill line wipe his nose TWICE and scratch his ear once with his bare hand. I pray he wears gloves when preparing the food. Overall, this place has real potential but they miss the mark. Our stay was not worth the $250 (before taxes). We will not be staying here again.

Yelp
BEWRE. This is a 1-2 star hotel charging you 4 star prices. It's a totally self service hotel. No bell hops. No service elevators for staff. Trust me, it's not fun fun riding the elevator while holding your breakfast snd your nose because you're riding with trash or dirty linens. The water pressure was very weak snd for 2 days, I had very Luke warm showers. Also upon checking in they tell you about their breakfast for you. What they do t tell you is they charge you. There are NO prices anywhere on the form you fill out. They make you charge to the room. I WILL NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, nor will I visit again. MAJOR RIP-OFF and DISAPPOINTMENT.

Yelp
I would say that the place deserves a little better rating. The place is very nice, the location in front of the bay gives a wonderful, peaceful, relaxing view. The amenities are many and very enjoyable for all ages. The service is very professional and kind. Sadly, to say there is one thing the ruins all the beautiful scenery and the nice place and the wonderful people working there. Dogs! The room smell like dogs, the sheets despite, I assume they are well treated they smell. It looks like the dogs jump onto the beds. Frankly, I would like to recommend something. Remember the time we used to have "smokers" around us. The hotels used to have floors and rooms for smokers and for non-smokers. Well, this is my recommendation. Establish a dog floor. The rest for non-dog passengers. Please! Another comment is the Silos Restaurant. Nice view, service is great. Wine list pretty small. Food, there we have a problem. We order breakfast Sandwich. The sandwich was OK, the problem were the hashbrowns. They were mushy and like a puree. Not tasty or even looking as hashbrowns. We had dinner and order Seabass. The Seabass was fresh but to small for the price and mine was a little undercooked. The Calamary were good.

Yelp
We've been here three or four times and every stay has been great! I'm kind of a germaphobe, but these rooms are SUPER clean, and even smell good! The staff has been very pleasant, whether talking to them on the phone, checking in/out, or just asking questions. We love staying here because the view is fabulous and you can walk to Canal Park in about ten minutes, all with a nice view of the lake. I've stayed in other hotels in the Duluth area, and this is by far the best. Enjoy!

Yelp
Great facility! The room is spotless and comfy. The staff at the front desk is friendly and helpful and welcoming! It's pricey here but worth every cent!!!

Yelp
We managed to get the last patio room for this weekend. It was booked last weekend and next weekend. This must be the hot new premiere resort! When we arrived they opened the door for us and offered to park our car. Hospitality on arrival. The hotel is a bit contemporary, industrial and warm comfort. Our patio room was right on the harbor and steps away from the indoor pool and the outdoor hot tub. It's great that ship pass right by our window! There is a thermostat for temp control, a Keurig and a nice wine type fridge. No microwave, that was disappointing. The bathroom was clean, had plenty of towels and a ceiling fan for ventilation, I appreciate that. The beds are soft and comfy with plenty of pillows. We want to come back for Bentleyville, which is right next door! Great location. Nice hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful inside and out. It has a pool indoors with a year round OUTDOOR hot tub which is super cool! on't worry, it's surrounded by glass so you won't get too chilled on those blustery winter days. The rooms are nicely decorated and have some fun features like the bathroom door is a sliding barn door that when it's slid to close the bathroom it reveals your closet! There is also a restaurant onsite, I didn't try the food (although it looked delicious) but we did have drinks and they were good and the bartenders were great. This place is also the perfect stay if you're going to Bentleyville. We were able to walk there!

Yelp
I found Pier B when looking up options for a last-minute trip to Duluth. I wanted something pet friendly and with a view and this fit the bill. Check in went smoothly. We were given tickets for complimentary breakfasts (more on that later) which was not expected but appreciated. We upgraded to a corner unit harbor-view suite which had an excellent view of the lift bridge. The room was slightly dated but otherwise nice. The bathroom appeared newly remodeled. The windows could've used some more shades as a lot of the light streamed in from whatever string lights they had set up outside. The hotel was quiet other than the occasional barge that would honk for the lift bridge. The bed was super comfy, I slept well. The first morning we ordered breakfast which you pick up from their restaurant and take to your room. Neither of the meals we ordered looked appetizing or edible but I'm not going to dock any points since it was complimentary. The grounds were beautiful with lots of parking. There were plenty of firepits and I liked that they had stuff for s'mores every night, we enjoyed doing that and hanging out with our pup around the fire. The hot tub looked amazing, wish we would've had more energy to check it out! The hotel was nice enough for me and I consider myself pretty picky. Next time I visit Duluth I'll be staying here again so I can check out their bikes, game court, kayaks, and all the other fun things they have to offer.

Yelp
Modern hotel with conference room amenities. Nice hot tub option with stellar lift bridge view, but we held off because of the -8° temperatures. Cookies at the desk were a nice touch as was the Keurig in the room. Comfy sleep.

Yelp
Mostly a great hotel, they NEED to make reservations for the firepits.lf you are offering free Smores make sure your GUESTSl can take advantage. . Any random person can walk back and use one. Nobody from hotel checks if the people are actual guests of the hotel. Disappointing that restaurant is closed on Monday & Tuesday in prime tourism time. One of the major things we look for when going on vacation and booking lodging is on-site dining. For the price you pay for a room here improvement is needed! A wristband does nothing if they are not verified when using amenities guests are paying extra for.

Yelp
Great place to stay and relax. It was very quiet at all hours of the night even though there was a wedding going on. At midnight I walked out to the fire pit overlooking the lake. 2 different couples walked by and asked me to take a picture. I stood alone for a while looking at the moon and ice on the water as a small rabbit walked around my feet by the fire. It was a really fun time. The food was good and they have good strong coffee free 24 hours a day. Our room could use more dolor and more local art but overall it was nice. Great view of the inner harbor. I will go back again when my wife and I need a weekend away from the kids.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed the hotel's space but when I visited in early June I was very disappointed in their cleaning procedures. They promised very clean rooms and outdoor spaces but I never saw someone cleaning any of the common spaces. We were out until about 9:30pm one night by the fires and they hadn't even picked up the mess that was left from guests by the morning when we went out. I wished I would have seen them at least wipe down the elevator buttons/common outdoor chairs. When I tried to fill out the survey with my disappoint and write them twice on instagram they never responded. Why have platforms to express your concerns if you aren't going to acknowledge them?

Yelp
Quite possibly the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on in a hotel--and that is saying a lot with all the traveling I have done with my ex in the military! First night was ok, but there was a spring in the mattress that assaulted my ribs. I mentioned it to the staff but there wasn't anything they could do. Second night I hardly slept and my husband was miserable with the mattress. I'm so happy it was a 2 night stay because I was exhausted today on the way home. It was supposed to be a romantic get away and this didn't bit the mark. Beyond that the price vs what we received was not nearly what you would expect. This isn't really a resort, I mean they have fire pits and s'mores at night, but wasn't really a "resort". The views are the only saving grace for this place outside of how clean it was. I would give them 5 stars on being clean. The majority of the staff is friendly and amazing. A few were rude and seemed annoyed we asked recommendations, but they were young and were probably really over getting the same questions over and over. I don't think I could possibly recommend this hotel. You are paying for a room and what we got wasn't worth $100 let alone $250 a night. But oh my gosh...that bed was MISERABLE! I wish we could have canceled the second night and stayed somewhere else.

Yelp
One of the newest hotels Duluth area with a lot of amenities. Rooms are clean, most of them have a really cool views on downtown, Grand stand or Aerial lift bridge. There's a Keurig coffee machine right in the room and hotel has a nice restaurant.

Yelp
We visited here when they first opened and loved it. Flash forward a couple years and the place looks like no maintenance or upkeep has been done since. I shouldn't have been surprised when I received a call the day of check in that our patio room that was booked four months ago was "uninhabitable"-whatever that means. Out entire reason for going-patio room was moved to a 2nd floor harbor room with dog hair all over the chair, banged up walls, dirty shower, mismatched light bulbs, and a great view (we won't be super negative). Our teenager sleeps late so when we finally opened up our room to main-service at 11 am we were received a little door hanger that advised maid service was done for the day. Paint is cheap-spend time monthly touching up your halls. Clean the place. One of our favorite places has become a tremendous disappointment.

Yelp
Pier B Resort is a fairly new convention and vacation hotel on Duluth's waterfront. My wife and I stayed here overnight and also ate at Silo's Restaurant (reviewed separately). Great experience from beginning to end. Staff at check in, check out, and in between were all effusively friendly. The property is a terrific location, with all rooms facing something scenic or at least of interest. Everything indoors and out is well-maintained. Might be the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Our room was the cheapest one they offer, a king room facing away from the waterfront. Our view was of the retired Coast Card cutter Sundew, with some of the Duluth skyline in the background. 5 stars for interior decorating. Everything, from the bed, the furniture, the wallpaper, and bathroom layout were perfect. And like every other area of the property, super clean. Our room also smelled very nice, though I couldn't tell you what it was. Amenities here are complete. I liked the hot tub, and the shuttle service into town. The yurt out back was weird, but fun to sit in. The location was a major perk for us. Just a mile stroll down the harborfront to the attractions of Lake Avenue, with the Minnesota Aquarium along the way. The DECC building, also on the waterfront, is connected to downtown Duluth via enclosed skywalk. Rooms can be a bit pricey on weekends, and for special events, but definitely a worthy splurge. I recommend staying here on a weekday, and/or during the off-season (as we did), when everything is nice and quiet, and rooms are reasonable.

Yelp
My husband and I went to the Pier B restaurant for our anniversary-- we had heard mixed reviews so we had delayed going, then we heard that they had a new chef, so we thought it was time to take the plunge. We went at around 5:45 on a Thursday and were seated right away-- no problem. Nice maitre'd. They sat us next to the window with the view. The atmosphere was quiet enough. We ordered the artichoke dip appetizer which came right away and was pretty tasty, pleased with that choice. My husband ordered the seafood scampi pasta bowl and I ordered the maple glazed salmon-- I asked what the vegetable of the day was, waiter said broccoli. We ordered-- then we had the Big Wait. Waiter apologized about a dozen times, but the food took almost an hour to come. Salmon was fine-- absolutely not extraordinary, the vegetable was acorn squash (not broccoli), which was cool when it arrived. Everything was *fine* but probably not a $24 meal-- for the money, New Scenic or Ledge Rock are better bets. I graded my dish at about a B. My husband had the scampi seafood bowl, and the shrimp and scallops were actually really nicely done and he gave his food an A grade. Because it was our anniversary, they gave us complimentary glasses of champagne, a lovely touch. Our bill came and there were no surprises... except for the suggested tipping. Where they made the "Suggested Gratuity Calculations" with 15%, 18%, and 20%, it's calculated wrong!! They are all a couple of dollars more than the actual percentage calculation! I was generally "B+" about the experience until I saw the suggested gratuity-- it's fine to charge fine dining for a mediocre experience-- the menu has the prices listed, but the suggested tipping just feels like they are trying to "get you" and trick you, this is one of my huge pet peeves! I can handle overpaying for a meal if I choose to, but I can't handle dishonesty. Not a negative experience, and certainly some nice features, but probably won't be rushing back.

Yelp
I write this review for others like me, who do not normally write reviews but often use them to find businesses that provide great service. I felt so welcome, relaxed and at home during my stay that I had to tell others of the EXCELLENT service we were given. Here goes.... We arrived at the Pier B Resort with full intentions of staying at the Sheraton downtown, as we had several times in the past. We just wanted to see what the Pier B Resort had to offer. Once inside we were greeted by Cooper, an employee of the resort. He was so welcoming and helpful, answering all our questions. With such awesome service, we decided to have lunch there prior to going to the hotel downtown. Cooper immediately ushered us into the restaurant introducing us to the hostess who brought us outside to enjoy our lunch on the deck. Our server Kim was so sweet! She made sure we had excellent service and great food. Once we finished lunch, we decided to take a walk around the resort. Wow, it is so beautiful with views that are just unbelievable. As we were enjoying our walk about, we ran into Cooper again (beautiful smile and EXCELLENT customer service). He asked if we would be staying with the resort during our time in Duluth. My husband said, "We are seriously considering doing so". We went to the reservation desk, where we meet Cody. Another welcoming smile with EXCELLENT customer service. We had only been in contact with a few of the hotel employees and already felt like we were special guests of the resort. They remembered our names through out our stay and anytime we saw them on property, they made every effort to make us feel at home. Cody gave us five-star service and reserved a room for our four-night stay. He took care of our every request and gave us a room with views of the Aerial Bridge and Lake Superior. We just loved our room and all that the resort offered us. I cannot say enough about the employees, especially Cooper and Cody. They most definitely are in the right profession; hospitality is their business, and they are masters in this field. This will be our hotel for all future trips to Duluth, we absolutely love Pier B Resort! Kudo's to Pier B Resort for choosing 5 star employees!! Sincerely, The Marini's

Yelp
When I travel from Thunder Bay to Duluth I only stay at Pier B Resort now. Recently stayed for my 3rd visit! From the Rooms, The View, the Restaurant Silos, and the property everything is top notch. The location is fabulous and the staff are very accommodating. My only suggestion is to allow the hot tub to operate later, and provide Robes in the rooms. Amazing place to stay!
