Pier Side Landing

Unlike a post 4 months ago which seemed to at first "like" the hotel and then went on to criticize I thought this venue was lovely. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The view great, the coffee hot, the large room clean and the bed comfy. I've done a lot of travelling all over the world and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. If you want a full breakfast then by all means stay at a B & B. Thanks for a great stay!

The staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious with comfy beds. Each room over looks the Bay. Ours had a charming balcony with deck chairs. We will stay here our next trip to Port Hardy.

Horrible. I write this as I lay wide awake on the worn out mattress with neck breaking pillows listening to every sound the person above us makes. I’ve stayed in a lot of low quality hotels but this takes the cake. It smells like the carpets are 1,000 years old mixed with formaldehyde. If you want to use the fridge it squeals like a banshee. You can hear everything through the paper thin ceiling, it sounds like elephants above me. The mattress also feels like it’s 20 years old and the pillows are the size of 5 combined. The only nice things are the view and friendly staff, but even that can’t bring it up to 2 stars. I would rather sleep in the back of a truck. Would give zero stars if I could. I’ve never had such a horrible sleep at a hotel.

Checked in late at Pier Side Landing after the ferry from Prince Rupert arrived at Port Hardy at 11 PM. Staff friendly and helpful. Room clean, comfortable and large. However, could hear some kind of machinery turning on and off; perhaps an elevator? Yep, definitely elevator; try to get a room further away from it. We arrived at 11:30 PM because we came from the ferry from Prince Rupert. In the morning we discovered the room has a fantastic view of the water. However if only the beds were positioned on the opposite wall then we could see the view from in bed! Also, there was a very small part off the bathroom missing! Worst case then mice or rats could enter the room from hole in the floor. In the room there were no less than three in-ceiling fire sprinklers! So we felt pretty safe. There was no closet, so things like the iron are just hung on the wall in full view. With a few little touches this hotel could be tweaked to be much better. The mattress was good. The flat screen TV seemed unnecessarily small. All the furnishings appear to be relatively new but some things were neglected like the broken bathroom mirror. The towels were nice. Breakfast was extremely simple. Nothing hot. Not even toast or toaster! No orange juice. No eggs of any kind. Instead head over to Cafe Guido. There is also no convenient power outlet near a surface which means charging your devices happens behind a table dangling on the floor.

So far my experience has been great here, nice and clean, the beds are nice and comfy, the recreation area is simple and has coffee. Over all a very pleasing and affordable with a nice ocean view. You also get a play ground out back for the kids.

Overall a decent hotel, not the most updated but still nice. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. The windows are single pane, and you can hear the sounds of Port Hardy at night. Internet is fast.

It's a great spot down by the government dock, with a lovely shoreline walking trail. The rooms are updated with new beds and appliances and it looks like the balconies have gotten a fresh coat of paint. The convenience of the town bus depot located in the same building can't be overstated.

Surprisingly very nice, comfy and pleaseant stay. Friendly staff and (other than fog) nice view on ocean side of hotel. Would definately recommend!
