This weekend I stayed at PierDrei Hotel Hamburg and unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to expectations — especially considering the steep price. At €238 per night (excluding breakfast), the value for money just wasn’t there.
While the room was spacious, its layout was impractical. A large hallway and bathroom took up most of the space, yet the shower was surprisingly small and came with a basic curtain rather than a proper enclosure. The room wasn’t properly cleaned after the first night — used glasses were left as they were, which was disappointing.
The hotel only has a few small elevators, which led to long wait times. Taking the stairs wasn't a real alternative either, as they only let you exit on your own floor — not very helpful when I wanted to visit the rooftop bar. Even then, only one elevator went up to the 7th floor, adding more waiting.
The bike rental was another letdown. I’ve honestly never had such an uncomfortable bike: the saddle was painful, and the gears kept slipping. I reported this to reception three times, but nothing was done, and the charge remained on my bill.
Other small frustrations: no coffee or tea-making facilities in the room, and breakfast — including coffee — cost an extra €23 per person.
All in all, I didn’t have a great experience. The hotel looks good on the surface, but the details and service didn’t match the price tag. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
