"Quiet and romantic, Piermont is an ideal getaway for those in search of rural respite in one of Tasmania’s more isolated stretches. Sexy stone-and-wood cottages, all with kitchens, laundry facilities, and fireplaces, make holing up easy, but many choose to surface for dinner at Homestead Restaurant, which features a primarily organic menu dominated by locally sourced vegetables, meat, and seafood (sesame-roasted quail; yellowtail kingfish ceviche). And while the overall vibe is relaxed, there are plenty of amenities for guests who want to do more than cozy up indoors, including a swimming pool, kayaks, bicycles, and a tennis court. (Though some polo ponies call the property home, horseback riding isn’t available.) The staff can also arrange for immersive experiences—complete with a packed picnic lunch—from whale watching on nearby Friendly Beaches to hiking Hazard Mountain passes in Freycinet National Park."

My husband and I have been coming back to piermont retreat for over 13 years. It has never disappointed. Nestled away on a quiet beach surrounded in nature. |We have stayed in all the various accommodations. And they are all unique, cosy and intimate. |The restaurant is a class of its own. The staff are amazing. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

The complete experience was so special. This was the 2nd time I have stayed, 4 years apart. Both times the cottages have been superb and so special. SO WARM. The fires are fabulous.|We were staying for the Sarah Glover special event. Calam, Piermont's chef worked so wonderfully enjoying being beside Sarah. Was amazing and the atmosphere was fabulous.|I highly recommend, the sound of the ocean being so close was beautiful. Staff friendly and grounds were exceptional.

I’ve stayed at Piermont a few times now and it never fails to work its magic. There’s just something about the setting — that quiet stretch of coastline, the cottages nestled into the dunes — it feels worlds away. On our most recent visit, my partner and I brought his mum who was visiting from the US, and we stayed in one of the two-bedroom stone cottages. It was absolutely beautiful. The fireplace kept us cosy, and we spent slow mornings just soaking in the atmosphere. There’s so much to do right on site — I even took one of the kayaks out and went fishing in the bay! The restaurant is excellent, and the whole place is run with such warmth and care. The team make you feel like you’re right at the heart of it all. Piermont is a truly special place. We can’t recommend it enough.

A beautifully curated hotel experience, with authentic, individual, stone cottages all with natural pathways down to the sea. I have rarely seen such quality in Australia. The restaurant and main reception building were equally appealing, and the restaurant menu was excellent. Having a kitchenette in the property was lovely, and the breakfast hamper a nice touch. The pool was cold, but clean and well situated, and the free tennis courts, bikes, and kayaks was a lovely touch. Location is excellent for Swansea, and Freycinet, although it's worth being aware it's an hour drive round to Wine Glass Bay. A beautiful property, I could have stayed for many more days.

The location is great, the view from the room and walk along the beach is beautiful. The service was good apart from the cocky waiter in the restaurant who seemed to think he controlled our pallet requirements. The room was ordinary in cleanliness as there was food residue on the rug in the lounge room, general lack of vacuuming everywhere throughout the Pampa Costa. The bed was hard. Extremely hard and when we asked if there was a topper or similar the simple answer was No. I think there needs to be an ability to meet the needs of those with bad back or just like a softer bed than the hard mattress we encountered. It was okay and this wasn't the first time we stayed here, but it will be our last.

Overall, we loved our stay at Piermont. Our cottage was clean and well-maintained. We really enjoyed our meal in the restaurant. The food was of high quality and easily matched similarly (fairly high) priced restaurants in Tasmania. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. We made good use of the tennis court (good condition) and the kayaks (although there seemed to be only two?). The setting is beautiful, and we have booked again.

We attended the Beaker Street Retreat at Piermont. It was a fabulous weekend. We stayed in a Pampa Costa residence - it was immaculate. We did not want to leave. The Homestead restaurant was fabulous - divine dining. We went swimming twice at the pristine private beach. Stunning!

What a fantastic two days we spent here. Stayed in a 1 brm cottage right on the water and everything was perfect and who doesn't love a log fire? Close to Swansea and also to drive around to Freycinet National Park. Could not recommend enough for a couple stay in one of the cottages. Dinner one night at Homestead restaurant in the main building was fantastic too. Would definitely stay again when in Tassie and on the East Coast.
