American Airlines Just Made Flying to Europe So Much Easier

"For the latter, we suggest making a reservation at Pierrot (a favorite of both Anthony Hopkins and the late Sir Roger Moore). It's not every day you can dine in a 13th-century building, after all."

This was by far the nicest restaurant we went to during our short stay in Budapest. A hidden gem. My partner who had tried goulash at 2 other restaurants said their Goulash at Pierrot was a cut above the rest. We decided to go here on our last night as we knew it was a pricier restaurant than some of the others we visited. However it was worth it - however you get what you pay for three fold. There is a three course set menu offered also. Pierrot was the only restaurant where I had a desert and their creme brûlée was divine. Situated by Buda castle it’s easy to get to by bus. The restaurant walls have pictures of stars who have eaten there and we had fun trying to guess their names. The resident pianist set the mood also. Loved their sugar free raspberry lemonade also (note it’s raspberry and rosemary but I asked for fresh mint instead). Service and attention to detail was excellent and the toilets were clean. Suggest you book.

There was a bit of an issue with our booking because when we arrived at the booked time, we were told that the manager was supposed to call me and inform the cancellation due to a last minute wedding. I checked my spams and all inbox, nothing was confirmed, in fact, Open Table sent a reminder a day prior. Regardless, the waiter gave us a spot and asked if we’re okay with eating in 1.5 hour so with sour faces we did sit. After that everything turned out fantastic. The waiter was such a kind and generous young man, he paid attention to everything we needed, was seeking our comfort and pleasure in dining to the maximum. The food was super delicious (starter, main, dessert), the plating was gorgeous and creative and our seat still had a fine enough view to the garden. Price wise it is not 20k HUF per person, I left paying 128 euros (51K forint) for 2 people and we shared one starter, only one of us had dessert (we didn’t eat the most expensive nor the least expensive main) and we didn’t drink alcohol or coffee. Check menu before you book and check the booking status before you get going to your event.

My brother and I enjoyed a three course dinner with drinks at Pierrot Cafe and Restaurant during our recent visit to Budapest. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff was courteous and attentive. Our hostess offered to take our jackets and guided us to our table immediately. We were promptly greeted by our server who took our drink orders and made recommendations for our meal. We both thought their Manhattan and Old Fashion were top notch. The food was phenomenal, but it is worth noting that the menu is pricier than many other nearby options.

Yesterday, I had a wonderful lunch with my daughter at the restaurant. It was the best dining experience we’ve had in all of Budapest. The garden is beautiful. Our waiter, Zolten, was amazing – and exceptionally handsome. The food was fantastic. Thank you for everything!

If there's anything I love about this restaurant, it is both the superb customer service and ambiance. We were there during spring and we were seated at the garden area which was whimsical and reminded of an English cottage garden. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. As for the food, not the best tasting Hungarian food, but they are fairly decent.

The atmosphere is unique. I was for many minutes contemplating the wall covered by the celebrities portraits that attended to this magical, cozy and warming restaurant. Definitely the best experience in Budapest in matters of food. Nice selection of wines and the food is very creative, well presented and the staff very friendly and fast to serve you and attempting to all the details. I had an excellent remarkable experience and definitely we would return once we go back to Budapest. I wish all the restaurants on Earth would be same level than this one! Highly recommended. The price is a bit elevated for the area but same that they practice in London, and because the food is really nice, it’s worthy!

Loved it. Best spatzle I’ve ever had. Everything was great. Could benefit from a couple of non Hungarian reasonable wines on their wine list. Lovely ambiance in part due to the building and decor/ in part due to the wonderful pianist playing romantic music. Would definitely come here again.
