American Airlines Just Made Flying to Europe So Much Easier

"For the latter, we suggest making a reservation at Pierrot (a favorite of both Anthony Hopkins and the late Sir Roger Moore). It's not every day you can dine in a 13th-century building, after all."

A must visit if you’re in Budapest! Absolutely beautiful place with live music and a warm, Romantic ambiance along with simply great food and drinks. If you have the opportunity, ask for service from waiter Henrik and your dining experience will be unforgettable!

Very nice hole in the wall that should be visited if you are in the castle district, offering up tasteful Italian/Hungarian dishes with great selection of wine. Beautiful setting that had live piano music at the time and nice outdoor seating away from the street. Our waiters Gellért and Levi also went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable.

Loved the place. We sat outside in the courtyard. Food was excellent and our waiter was so kind and helpful. He was plesent and everything happend smoothly. Atmosphere were relaxing, piano was played inside but not loud. My husband have very serious a celery allergy and they prepaired all the food he wanted with out celery. We will definitely come back and we recommed this restaurant to others as well. Remember to taste Palinka 🙂

This was by far the nicest restaurant we went to during our short stay in Budapest. A hidden gem. My partner who had tried goulash at 2 other restaurants said their Goulash at Pierrot was a cut above the rest. We decided to go here on our last night as we knew it was a pricier restaurant than some of the others we visited. However it was worth it - however you get what you pay for three fold. There is a three course set menu offered also. Pierrot was the only restaurant where I had a desert and their creme brûlée was divine. Situated by Buda castle it’s easy to get to by bus. The restaurant walls have pictures of stars who have eaten there and we had fun trying to guess their names. The resident pianist set the mood also. Loved their sugar free raspberry lemonade also (note it’s raspberry and rosemary but I asked for fresh mint instead). Service and attention to detail was excellent and the toilets were clean. Suggest you book.

Pierrot in Buda Castle is a total gem! After a busy day exploring the Buda Castle, it felt like stepping into an oasis calm, beautiful, and full of charm. The food was amazing, the atmosphere lively, and the service top notch. Huge shoutout to our servers Gellért and Levi, their wine and food recommendations, friendliness, and attention to detail made our night unforgettable. Highly recommend! Can't wait to go back! Amazing 🍷✨

We went here after our traveling acquaintances suggestions as we were staying in the area for the night. It was very slow day(Monday) as there were only one other couple having dinner. We were greeted by a waitress who seemed friendly. We ordered grilled octopus which was tender and not chewy, goulash, pastas as we were very hungry. We asked for some bread and butter while we waited for our food. Bread was a little dry and tiny slices of baguette like rolls, but we enjoyed them. Now, since we were not sure about the tipping culture of the Hungary in general, we asked our hotel concierge for tipping before we went to the restaurant. She said generally, no but if the bill shows a service charge we don’t need to tip the waitress. When she brought us the tab, I asked the waitress if the service charge was included in the check and she said yes. But she was getting pushy about pointing to 6% or 10% tipping additional options that was on the screen. This was after she sternly rejected my AMEX card, so while I was stumbling to take out my Visa card, the screen reset to “no tip”, she got sully and snippy, gave my card back and the tore receipt on the table and walked away without saying thank you or good night. This place just charged $1.75 just for few pats of butter for our stale bread! After having a nice dinner, such arrogance and disrespect towards customers is not an acceptable behavior just because we were tourists from United States where we tip generously to our servers for their services. If you are the owner of this place, please take note of this honest review. If you are a tourist considering trying this establishment, just beware that despite pretty good(but pricey) foods, a certain waitress may ruin your evening out(no offense to the chef). In reply to the owner’s request for clarification: Date of our visit was Saturday night. Additionally, if the final bill that says Service Charge(felszolgalasi):4986 HUF, which comes to about 15%, wouldn’t it be considered adequate? So why would the server push for additional tip? This needs to be addressed so the future visitors will not be confused or embarrassed. That’s all I have to say.
