"Set on the rain forest’s edge, this stable and riding academy offers horseback riding tours of Upcountry Maui. During private excursions, guests cross wide-open ranges with breathtaking views of the Pacific, learning about the area and its history as they go. The family-run ranch is staffed by friendly, informative guides who cater to all abilities, so prior riding experience isn’t necessary. After your ride, tour the ranch’s preserve and nursery for a chance to glimpse Hawaii’s majestic state bird, the endangered nene (goose), or get your adrenaline pumping on the longest side-by-side zip line in Maui."

"Maui isn't all lush forests and beaches; rather, the rollings fields of Upcountry Maui are home to a number of historic ranches, and the 800 acres of Piiholo Ranch are ripe for exploring on this two-hour tour. For six generations and counting, the Baldwin family has cultivated these lands as a working ranch. Your guide may or may not be a Baldwin, but he or she will definitely have plenty of fun facts and history to impart—and whether you're a dressage competitor or a first-time rider, you're made to feel welcome and confident on a horse." - Todd Plummer
Our family of four had the best experience riding horses here. This is a real ranch, not a tourist place. The horses are very happy and well cared for. Our guide Molly was fantastic, giving us personal attention and guidance on a private 2 hour ride into the upcountry. The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the ride was a memory we will never forget. Worth every penny!

Went for a 3 hr lunch ride. My two kids rode horses while another employee drove my wife and I out to the remote lodge on a ATV. Scenery was nice, views awesome, lunch good. Kids and parents enjoyed. After ride wrangler gave us some places to visit in area. Glad we did. Only drawback was weight limit to ride horses. Need to get a few bigger horses. 220 lb. Weight limit.

Last Summer my daughter and I went for a ride... it was truly life changing. We had lunch at the bunkhouse, learned about the area, met a chameleon and had some papaya along the way. It was life changing for us... my daughter was crying at the end of the ride because it was so amazing. It was spendy ($700 for 2) but I can justify that with the memory I will have forever. If you can go, please do.

The best wranglers and horses on Maui. Consistent respect and aloha on this beautiful ranch property. Worth watching the roping practice too. A place with history, and a true Maui legacy.

This was the highlight of my trip! I ride on 90% of my vacations (travel often) and this has bumped to the top! The scrnery is gorgeous the horses super well cared for and amazing wrangler and staff. We visted the cows who were completely unaffected by our presence so we were able to get super close. My Wrangler really customized my ride and I felt like I was riding with a friend. My horse Boomer was super chill and a perfect fit to meander the 800+ acre ranch. Highly recommend you take the drive. If you put this in GPS make sure you use the ranch address and not the zipline address. Thanks Piiholo for an unforgettable ride.
