The staff at this small hotel were very friendly, attentive and always smiling. The hotel is modest, has well attended gardens and offers great views of the Pacific and of a local Moai. Bedrooms are spacious, comfortable with good hot showers.||Breakfast is simple and sufficient.||We travelled with two little ones (2&5) and we didn't find this at all problematic.||The Moai of Ahu Ko Te Riku and Ahu Tahia are a short walk away, and the Te Maoi Sunset restaurant is across the road.||Sunsets are a popular pastime, and when you sit down to watch them, you are often joined by locals, whose presence offers some gravitas and authenticity to the tradition.||You are aware always of being on a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific, so being aware of your environmental footprint is key. Be modest with your consumption of water and power, keep your litter and dispose of it properly. You can walk almost everywhere, but hire cars are readily available should you need them. Their hire is casual, so you don't need to prebook. We were collected at the airport and hired one of the hotel's own fleet cars.||You are at the mercy of the weather, and in June it tends towards fresh and cool. Plan your wardrobe accordingly.||This is a once-in-lifetime destination, so most things are more expensive. Given the logistics of getting anything here, the overhead is worth paying. The sights are worth visiting. The people worth talking to. The sunsets worth watching.||Enjoy.
