This place is excellent! If we could give it 11/10 rating we would! The stay was super comfortable. The management is very generous. We left our swim suits in the hotel and I didn’t even follow up to get it back. I saw today a package delivered from UPS with our swim suits in it. I mean they are so nice that they sent it without us asking or calling. we ran out of lotion and asked the room service and they brought us like 10 lol. Anything we asked they would give in abundance. This is a really cute place to stay. So much to do indoors. So many activities and games. Highly recommend

✨First Impressions ✨ Pike’s Waterfront Lodge I just arrived at Pike’s Waterfront Lodge last night, and everything so far has been absolutely wonderful! ✨ The airport shuttle experience was seamless — I literally walked out of the airport and straight into the van. The driver was so kind and helped load and unload my bags, which meant a lot since I was feeling pretty sick after my flight. From check-in to breakfast, every interaction with the staff has been incredible. Dawn has been helping me since about a week and a half ago when I first called with questions, and she’s been just as sweet and helpful in person. I also met Tay at breakfast this morning — another gem! So kind, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell the whole staff truly cares about their guests — they don’t just help, they guide you. Even small things, like recommending more affordable nearby spots if you forget something, show how thoughtful they are. My fireplace room with an aurora view is gorgeous — cozy, peaceful, and the perfect space to unwind while I recover from travel. I can’t wait to share some photos once the sky darkens and the Northern Lights come out. So far, Pike’s has completely exceeded my expectations — warm people, beautiful rooms, and that genuine Alaskan hospitality that makes you feel right at home. 🌌

This Lodge felt more like a resort! It is amazing. They offer so much to see and do without having to leave the property. The complimentary breakfast is over the top with homemade waffles, fresh scrambled eggs, potatoes, and meat. OJ, coffee and even a crock of oatmeal to serve up and more! My daughter and I stayed here because we are vendors in a local holiday market and our stay felt like a mini vacation thanks to Pikes Waterfront Lodge. Their moto is, "The friendliest hotel in Fairbanks ", and it rings true. Staff is friendly and attentive and made sure all of our needs were met. While enjoying our deliciously prepared meals and cocktails we got to see the Reindeer just outside Pikes Landing restaurant. We even took advantage of their thoughtful tin of smores ready to go for just $15 behind the check in counter and roasted our smores at one of the many firepits stationed around the propert. We explored the entire property to plan our next stay. We are thinking one of their cozy cabins. I will stay here each and evertime I come to do a show (work) in Fairbanks. Worth checking out. Enjoy our pics!

Location and Arrival We (Family of 4) recently stayed at this hotel for five nights. The hotel's proximity to the airport was very convenient, making both arrival and departure easy. Room and View During the booking process, I chose the Riverfront View, expecting to enjoy scenic sights, especially for Aurora Sightings. This hotel offers basic accommodations with convenient airport proximity but lacks standout features. The room was clean yet dated, and a cramped layout for four people. The Riverfront View did not deliver, and parking was often challenging. However, the reality was disappointing; a downstairs room blocked the entire view to the north, while thick trees obscured the other side. As a result, there was barely any view of the river. Additionally, the room itself was quite small for four people, leading to a cramped experience. Parking Experience Parking proved challenging during our stay. On the third night, after returning from aurora viewing at 3:00 AM, the hotel parking lot was full and we had to look for a spot in a neighborhood parking lot. Parking was also difficult on the second night due to a party at the hotel. However, once the event ended at 10:00 PM, spaces became available. All Cars need plugs in such cold weather and there were not enough of them. Aurora Viewing and Room Amenities I had hoped to enjoy aurora sightings from the hotel, but it was too bright outside to see anything with lights from the neighbouring building. The Aurora room did offer information about aurora sightings that that was similar to what could be accessed by phone, but oddly enough, there were no windows to observe the phenomenon. Room Condition and Comfort The room was adequately clean, though it felt dated and basic. The bed was somewhat comfortable. The bathroom included the essentials. Service and Staff The staff at the front desk were polite, yet not particularly enthusiastic or helpful. While check-in and check-out were smooth, I did not feel especially welcomed or valued as a guest. Breakfast Breakfast was included with the stay, offering standard items such as English muffins, coffee, juice, waffles, and eggs. Nothing about the breakfast stood out, and I have experienced better options at other hotels within the same price range. Overall Impression In summary, the hotel met my basic needs for a short stay, but I would not go out of my way to recommend it. It is an average option if you simply need a place to sleep, but do not expect anything beyond that. Go for something in town like a Hyatt or Hampton Inn.

Such a great place to stay. Our second time here and we loved it both times. Easy pickup by the airport shuttle with door to door service. They offer a full breakfast each morning with hot food which is always nice. They also have a full bar that opens at 5:00pm which is nice to enjoy in the evening. Rooms are spacious with a lodge feel, lots of wood accents good with the Alaskan feel. We had an Aurora view room with small balcony. It was super quiet though there seemed to be a lot of people staying while we were there. We enjoyed walking around the property, there are many fire pits and lots to do, pool table, library, movie theater. Aurora info and a glass room to wait for the Aurora each night. We walked to see the reindeer and ate at the restaurant just across parking lot.

I recently stayed at Pike's Waterfront Lodge in Fairbanks and had a wonderful experience. The room was excellent, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The service was top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff throughout my stay. The convenient shuttle service made getting around town a breeze, and the breakfast spread was delicious and had plenty of options. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Fairbanks!

I stayed at this hotel for five days, and everything I experienced was truly wonderful! Their shuttle service runs 24/7, and when I called after picking up my baggage, the shuttle arrived in just five minutes. Even though the hotel is a little far from downtown, there are great restaurants right next door, so I didn’t have to drive into the city. Since I don’t like driving on icy roads—and I’m not familiar with them anyway—I usually had a nice dinner at the restaurants nearby. I could walk there easily. Lastly, the front desk gave me a room with an aurora view. There was a sign next to the door saying, “If you’re lucky, you can see the aurora from your room.” I doubted it, but as soon as I opened the window at 2 a.m. right after checking in, I saw a beautiful aurora activity. I will never forget that moment. I was so happy to stay at this hotel. Thank you for your excellent service. I really appreciate it.

Google
We had selected pikes lodge for our stay during visit to Fairbanks. The lodge is near to airport and best part is free pick up and drop to airport and also drop to couple of operators nearby for free. The breakfast was ok and not that great. The service of the staff who picks and drops to airport is excellent. But the reason I dont want to give 5 stars is: 1. The service in the reception was not great. I understand the folks are working hard but that doesn’t mean they act cranky. 2. The rooms in lodge are ok and it was sort of smelling on some areas. But ya definitely not a bad place to stay. They call it friendliest place in Fairbanks.. hope they do it much better

Yelp
Great staff, the day staff are nice and the drivers are super chill. The continental breakfast has the basics, cormed beef hash/sausage/patties, a waffle maker. The breakfast staff lady with the pink hair is super attentive and friendly with the staff. The rooms are a bit older kind of wallpaper feeling but okay size. You can hear people opening doors and walking down the hallway. The cabins are isolated a bit outer to the property. To conserve they do not clean the bedsheets every day but are generous with additional anemity requests and check in for trash etc. Theres a microwave and a mini fridge. Its around 15 min from the airport so super fast and there are some small things to do around the area on the property, but not much. It is like 30 min walk to Fred Meyer (relatively short drive). No shuttle to downtown, but uber available. 180$ round trip to chena hot spring leaving at 8, return at 6pm. Plenty of tours come in for guest pick up and there's ample waiting space. Overall cozy and chill. Super close to the auto rental (just down the sidewalk). Relatively maintained roads and okay parking (can be a bit full at times). Close to the highways. Early check in is rare as they get spurts of popularity, 4pm is check in. The suana and some of the activities were closed, so not usable. I'd recommend against the aurora specials and opting for another room instead. The aurora special room basically has a balcony facing the river, but the owner added property lights (probably for safety) that never turn off, so its quite hard to see the auroras. The only time you are able to see them is if the kp is high AND its super clear and the northern lights tend to be on the rightish side. But even then I found the observatory room ceiling covered in ice. You are much better off renting a car and chasing the auroras in the area as theres just too much light pollution. In our time there it was not viewable from the area until possible the day we left (5 days). Overall, I do feel like its friendly and convenient location. Just not the best for northern lights.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE Super Quite, Comfy Beds, Great Free breakfast, $1.50 ice cream scoops every night, aurora alerts upon request, just absolutely spectacular views of the Chena river, free airport shuttle, One thing if you want to indulge yourself in Alaskan comfort I recommend the Alaska Love rooms.....

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend the Caesar salad. It's just a bowl of lettuce with a side of Caesar dressing, some croutons and some grated Parmesan cheese, from a green plastic container. Apparently lettuce and Caesar dressing is now called a Caesar salad. Older tourists crowded. Love the Tiffany lamp shades throughout.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay greatly at Pikes! We chose Pike's for its convenient location (5-10 minute drive from airport and downtown) and all the amenities it had to offer. It's located right alongside the Chena River and they have a viewing deck and firepits for aurora viewing, which we were able to catch on one night! Lots of amenities provided, though some of it is seasonal: 24/7 complimentary shuttle to and from the airport, free parking, complimentary breakfast (winter only), courtesy aurora wake-up call (just need to let them know the night of), an evening ice cream social ($1.50 per scoop), a library, a gift shop, a mini-theatre playing a video clip on aurora viewing, a gym, a restaurant next door, firepits, bocce ball courts, billiards & speakeasy (closed) and a dry sauna (unfortunately, was undergoing renovations when we went, but should be open by end of April). The place has a cozy feel to it, and you could probably spend all day just looking at all the artwork inside and outside of the lodge. Noise could potentially be an issue. Since it is near the airport, you could hear the planes flying overhead every now and then, but this was not an issue for us. Temperature of the room was comfortable. I cannot attest to the housekeeping services, but our room was clean when we arrived, and I saw the staff every day bustling about on the floors. They have blackout curtains too if you plan on napping during the day time. Overall, so glad we chose Pike's for our stay!

Yelp
We only stayed one night but everything went well! Beds were comfy and we got good sleep. Warm water with great pressure in the shower and the view of the frozen river was cool to have :) loved the little balcony too I wish we were staying longer because I would love to check out everything they offer on their property but definitely will be coming back here to stay when we make our way back to FBs in the future :)

Yelp
Outdated but has some fun things to do. Restaurant is way overpriced. The reason they are outdated is they want to keep with a miner type of vibe. But you can do this while still updating the rooms. Love the little library on the property where you can borrow a book and read it during your stay.

Yelp
First time staying in Fairbanks and I chose Pike's based on Google reviews. Lots of positive amenities. I like that they have a 24/7 free airport shuttle. Pike's is just over a mile away from the airport. The price was reasonable booked through Expedia a couple months in advanced. It's a very cozy cute lodge. Lots of Alaska art. Nice views of the river. Good continental breakfast. Complimentary in the winter. Includes waffles, cereal, eggs, reindeer sausage?, fruit, yogurt, OJ, coffee, oatmeal etc. The fitness room is open 24/7 on the third floor. They also have a dry sauna and aromatherapy but that happened to be under renovation while we were there. They have on-site laundry for guests on the first floor. In summer 2024 they opened a reindeer pen near the restaurant so if that's on your list it's conveniently near the hotel! The hotel restaurant (Pike's Landing) is open until 10pm and literally a walk across the parking lot. Speaking of parking lot it's free parking. Staying here for four nights we never had an issue finding a spot. The northern lights wake up call is nice! The first night they called us around 10pm. It was a bit dim from the porch of Pike's. But I suppose you can always take the car and drive somewhere a little more secluded. The first time we arrived late and without a rental car there were nearly no dining options. Pike's to the rescue. Their gift shop has snacks! Including freezer section microwaveable meals and ramen. Not the healthiest but it's so nice to get something warm and somewhat filling in your belly after a long flight. All the hotel workers we met were very friendly and helpful! Also it's a dog friendly hotel! The only thing that I'd say was a negative is the room could have been a little cleaner and the bed wasn't comfortable for me. It was squeaky. But when on vacation it's just a safe place to sleep. The room was warm, the water was hot, they have a mini fridge and microwave. I'd stay at Pike's again next time too!

Yelp
Bought the Aurora Package. Aurora Package was not ready upon check in and was told to pick up upon check out. Morning shift did not realize the night staff had run out and did not have any ready upon check out. Was told to come back after 2PM. My room was labeled an Aurora Room. The room furnishings were outdated but no big deal - we weren't staying there for luxury furnishings. We did have a balcony for easier viewing but the view to the north was partial at best with an obstruction outside. The hotel grounds are cute with lots of spots for great pictures. The aurora education room has ipads and simulations. It would have been nice to have some kind of instructions on what kind of features were available for us to use to maximize their benefit. The library has a good selection of books and shows a movie. When watching the movie you can hear people socializing in the bar on the other side so that may be a little distracting for some. Things to Note: -you need to pay for red light therapy/sauna -reindeer visitation is also available for a fee -breakfast is from 6-10AM with lots to choose from to eat (corned beef hash, potatoes, waffles, fruit, bagels, muffins, etc...) -Lost and found is handled by housekeeping and is only available when they are on site

Yelp
This place is awesome. The decor is an eye full. The grounds are well kept. The breakfast was the best. Great value priced.

Yelp
Small downgrade from prior review. The noise is from the employees. If you happen to get room 117 ask to be moved. Across from you is the laundry room which the door is always open and laundry services are always going on. You can hear every conversation. Other than that, great experience.

Yelp
Location is nice. Worst staff I encountered on my whole trip to Alaska unfortunately, and dirty room, cookie crumbs all over the counter. Wish it was a better experience.

Yelp
Multiple stays and yet to be disappointed!! Even the new upgrades are impressive - though no more golf pad ! Rooms are meant to sleep in so just fine and the grounds are perfect for walking, playing and relaxing by the fire. Library, bocce, river front and proximity to the airport are all big pluses. Stores are close enough to drive to - and there is a restaurant in the shared parking lot. Already looking forward to our September trip!!

Yelp
Pros: - Fun eclectic decorations with a lot of Tiffany lamps, wood, taxidermy, and oddities - there's a lot of character to enjoy - Beautiful views of Chena River - Close to a restaurant - Free shuttle to train depot - Cheap ice cream Cons: - Only provided small square pillows - odd - AC unit is nice but located behind the curtain. Must choose between blocking out the midnight sun or cool air.

Yelp
Well some great ideas and poor delivery, The main issue I have is we stayed in 202 above the broiler room. Every time they turned on the floor shook. The bed felt like we where at sea. When informing the front desk staff of this they where so surprised. Normally it's the elevator. They said they would send a bellman. He was nice and arrived 10 mins later immediately noticed and explained he would put in a work order 1st thing in the morning. We asked if they had a different room as I was feeling sea sick and we are on land. He was polite and explained they had nothing else. This place was packed for breakfast. Side note the gym is also right above you. It's a thin wall so you will hear people running. We got a s'more room - no s'mores we did get a small pie that was nice but kinda disappointing as we had made the selection before we arrived. They have a TV playing talking about all the great things that they have to offer. The Majority of which are not available. The staff seemed discussed that we had been asking questions about things that seemed to be common sense. For crying out loud you have a TV on the second floor talking about staying warm to watch the auroras but the view is inhibited by snow. WTF you know it snows here right? That's probably why the two large heaters on the wall had been installed to pump out large amounts of heat to move the snow off the windows! - if you didn't think of that you owe me money for my idea. The only staff members that did outstanding was the Ice Cream girl Amazing and nice to get an ice cream. The maintenance guy that set up the fire pit the last day. Then the bellman who came into our room to feel it vibrating. He was open and honest and noticed it right away. He didn't act like the front desk who looked at me like I was crazy. I don't want to hate on this place as it could have been a bad couple of days, but it just didn't hit the mark. My wife who booked emailed about the room and it's been 48 hours still no response. Willing to try again but I recommend doing a walk thru prior to your stay if you can. or check a more updated review because currently they are 2*s for me.

Yelp
Thank you to the entire staff! We have been coming to Pikes since we moved here 3 years ago. Our most favorite place in Fairbanks! This trip was due to an emergency hospital visit. Every single person was kind & helpful through this most difficult, chaotic time. Rigby the French bulldog and I stayed from September 22-26. Each day unpredictable..the reservation/front counter clerks so accommodating & kind. The housekeeping staff outstanding! The lovely people in the kitchen always with a smile & kind word. I spoke to Elizabeth Griswold the general manager as Jim, Rigby and I were leaving to thank her, she was like talking to a good friend, her compassion & understanding felt like a hug from above. Another reason why we love the vibe at Pikes from its Alaskan lodge atmosphere to the lovely Pikes family/team.. it just feels like home. With gratitude Deb Denman & Jim Verchio 5

Yelp
This is a beautiful lodge that immersed you in a simpler time in Alaska. The decor, the art and the staff help you remember a simpler time. Plenty of merriment, food and adventures to be had here. It was an amazing adventure with the sightseeing and tour companies.

Yelp
I stayed here in late September 2023. My main purpose for visiting Fairbanks was to see the northern lights. I had an "aurora view" room on the 2nd floor. The room itself was awesome. Clean and comfy bed. Bathroom was clean. The name of the room is deceiving. Yes, it faces north, but there's so much light pollution outside the window, you'd never be able to see the aurora. So, I drove to a darker area to see the aurora and then used the room as a base camp to rest and edit photos. The parking situation is terrible. By the time I'd come back to the hotel after shooting the lights until the wee hours of the morning, I'd have to circle the parking lot several times to find a place to park. Other than parking....I give Pike's an A-. The gift shop off the lobby of Pike's was where I purchased all my Fairbanks souvenirs. I'll be back! Thanks!

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
The facility itself is very neat. You have lots to explore around the lodge with special key access rooms, the river with critters, and many educational plaques with photos. As for the room it was seemingly nice until we noticed crumbs all over the desk. After that there was a bit of unease regarding the cleanliness which was confirmed with the layer of dust across the TV (the TV remote was busted and unusable). Our server in the restaurant was very nice, I wish I got his name. He was a a dark hair younger guy with black earrings in. He was the saving grace to our experience because he made light of the horrific encounter we had with the male morning shift bartender. Talk about 'Friendliest Hotel in Fairbanks'. He was god awful. The drink we ordered was unpleasant and after two trial sips it was decided to be too difficult to try to consume. The waiter was busy so we decided a quick trip to the bar to see if we could trouble him with a replacement beer, as not to have him make another drink. Boy oh boy did his emotional temperament come out. Not only did he IMMEDIATELY become defensive, but he got angry and unprofessional. I've never seen such a grown, 10 foot tall, disgruntled man. After telling him "it's okay to say no" as he just went on a verbal rampage, he huffed and puffed and gave me a beer. GREAT guy, glad that's the face of your bar. Although it was an unpleasant experience , it gave us something to laugh about as he was quite embarrassing to witness.

Yelp
Not the friendliest front desk. But resort wise top notch. Complimentary Breakfast is delicious and kept up. The breakfast staff are wonderful and we're always in a good mood. The resort is kept up and very clean. Housekeeping is hit and miss. One room in are party was never cleaned the 7 days we were there. The main restaurant nice staff. Was impressed got hit with a rush during shift change and manager jumped in and started waiting on tables and went to each table to apologize. All in all Will we come back definitely

Yelp
Delightful experience. They have sledding, fire pits, smores, ice cream, and there's a reindeer pen next door. The hotel is decorated with fun facts about Alaska. Staff was friendly and helpful.
google avatar

Angela R.

Yelp
The kitchen manager guy overseeing the buffet line brought out dessert for our group of 150 people with store bought cookies pulling the plastic lids off of them and they were hard as rocks! To boot, he was rude , making our party goers upset he was not good at hospitality... or delicious dessert. I do not reccomend.

Yelp
While were touring around Fairbanks, we stayed at this Lodge for 7 nights, tonight is our last night. We are ready to go. When we got here, the lobby looks really cool. They have Ice Cream socials every night. We never went. The room to us, was not that clean on arrival. Hair on the nightstands, bathroom floor, on the sheets and blankets, that is sooooo gross to me. When I booked the reservation, it was a reservation service, I specifically asked her for a waterfront view, I asked her at least 3 times and she confirmed it. I then asked her for the top floor, NOPE on both. The lady at the front desk said, well you have a balcony. Ha, that's a joke. It's about a 13" balcony and you cannot even sit with a chair out there. We have an ugly view of the parking lot. They do really good free breakfast, but it was the same thing everyday, wish they would have done bacon for a few days. Just sausage and hash out of can. We did not go everyday. I would definitely not come back here.

Bryan W.

Yelp
Everything was very clean Everything worked and the bed was comfortable The shower was good. The only thing keeping it from being a 5 star was that they put us in an outlying building with an outdoor walk with our luggage. We stayed in January and the hotel did not appear to be very full. Would definitely stay again however.
google avatar

Stacy P.

Yelp
We've stayed here a total of three times in the 12 years we've lived here and FROZE in our room every time. Don't stay here unless you like a hard bed and a cold room. Worst hotel bed we've slept on in years. Propped a pillow over the air conditioner unit to block the flow of cold air. NEVER AGIN!!!

Yelp
First time for me staying here. I think it's me with bad luck, then upselling everything which turned out badly, or they are struggling with staff or management or something. We were disappointed in our experience. The room noise and state was horrible! The outside is lodge cabin look, I'm sure it looks lovely in the summer. We were here march 2023, lots of snow still. The inside is decorated nicely with lots of wood logs, old times decor everywhere, nice warm fireplaces to sit in front of, lots of seating, books, nicknacks, etc. No cookies were to be seen or heard of. Fee ice cream from 6-9. Free breakfast from 6-10. It was a made house when we stayed, they had all the food(waffle station, drinks, eggs, canned corn beef hash, and potatoes) in the hall area which was weird instead of just having it in the big banquet room where you site, there were tables set out for the food to be on. I payed $164 a night and we stayed two nights. We were on the 2nd floor overlooking the parking lot. We were in room 202, ask NOT to be in this room!! I'm surprised people hadn't said anything, or people do complain like us but they do t do anything? We are right next to the broiler room and every 5 minutes the whole room shakes like it's an earthquake or you are on a boat the whole thing just Rumbles. We were sitting on the bed and decided to go complain about it. A guy came up and walked in our room, felt it for himself and went to go see what could be done. He came back up and said "absolutely nothing could be done at the moment" but will put in a work order and make it priority for the next day. Next day still happening. You can't have the water bottle on the nightstand it's so noisy and sometimes it's so hard stuff was squeaking by the window. I think there's just nothing they can do? But I would not stay here again. I feel like this building is old. We come up from the elevator once and you could hear what sounded like someone vibrating the wall by running on a treadmill. As I'm typing this there is a noise like maybe a washing or drying machine? Above or next door? Or it's the treadmill again. DO NOT STAY IN ROOM 202! I'm hoping other rooms dont have the same problem. The 5 minutes in between the rumble is so peaceful that's what I hope our stay would have been the whole time. What it should be. Also, the tv is on Seattle/west coast time where the prime time is 8-10 not 7-9 like normal tv in Alaska(anchorage) I thought that was so weird why are the tv times shifted? The room was clean, bathroom could have been more clean, toilet, shower, sink. The shower head was strange and didn't drain well, it pooled up as you take a shower. With the room we were supposed to get a bag of marshmallows, you have to pay $15 for the whole kit with gram crackers and chocolate. When we checked in they were "out" of marshmallows, so she gave me a pie, but I had to say something so watch out if you want what you actually signed up for. False advertising seems like. Why wouldn't they have enough marshmallow packs for rooms that said marshmallows? Why do some rooms get a pie? And where did the free cookies go? Free coffee in the lobby, didn't try it. Bar is not open late. The aurora room? Can't see out of the glass ceiling if there's snow on it, which there was. There's heaters in there but they weren't on, and when we asked about it the lady said "it doesn't work like that." Ok so despite all their advertisements and commercial playing in the hallway, you do have to be cold to see the northern lights here. Which we didnt get to see. You can go in the banquet room at night where you would be able to see them if they are our. Also the fire pits were not on from 6-10 like advertised one night but yes the second night. The library room was locked the first night but opened at 6 the second night. Had some books, a little theater with soft theater seats, and a pool table. This place is old and has nastalga. Staff is nice but hit or miss on that. Activities decent if someone is there to take care of everything. Just give me a quiet room next time. Honestly kind of bummed out just because of the shaking.

Yelp
Great staff, very nice facilities. Overall great time at Pike's. Only issue was the conservatory's was too bright o see the northern lights. But the breakfast is quite good and a great place to relax.

Yelp
This lodge knows how to treat its guests. The complimentary breakfasts is one of the best I've had. They offered boiled eggs, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, toast, sausage/egg/cheese biscuits, coffee, hot tea, and a do-it-yourself waffle bar. When we checked in, they handed us two tokens for free ice cream the following night. We cashed them in the next night for our selection from six different ice creams. They gave us a very generous scoop. The gorgeous Chena river flows right behind the lodge and you can walk its banks. There is an outdoor, aurora room with plenty of glass windows for photos. We enjoyed the Cinema/Game room outside the main lodge with pool tables and an Aurora movie playing on a loop. On the second floor is a room with a sauna and steam room inside which is free to all guests. Also one the second floor is a library of fitness and self help books that you can read while at the lodge. Just be sure to return them. This lodge even offered a complimentary shuttle to our truck rental place, Arctic Outfitters. I would highly recommend this lodge. Everyone of the staff members seemed genuinely happy and they were super nice answering our questions. The mattresses were super soft and comfortable to sleep on as well.

Yelp
Stay somewhere else with an airport shuttle! They told me it would be 20-30 minutes for the 1.5 mile ride. After 35 minutes and seeing at least 3 other airport shuttles arrive I called back. No it would be 15-20 more minutes because their 2 shuttles we're busy at the train station. Then they put me on permanent hold because they were busy checking others in. I got the last taxi at the Fairbanks airport. The driver said he'd just delivered some other people to Pikes who got tired of waiting. Not sure there will be a shuttle back to the airport either. Avoid!

Yelp
Lovely stay at this hotel. Complimentary breakfast from 6-10 AM. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Also has a neat on-call shuttle service, just communicate with the front desk for a ride. Will definitely book here if I'm ever in Fairbanks again!

Yelp
My notes for this place say "Why not more love?" and "didn't even use ice cream token" This place is cozy, nice, and CHEAP. It's rare to get a hotel this good for this low of a price in Alaska! The staff were really nice and...you get a freakin' ice cream token! If you're driving back from the far reaches of Alaska and can't do Anchorage in a single-push, this is your spot to get some rest...and maybe eat some ice cream.

Yelp
This hotel had a cozy feel to it. I liked the kettle in the room to make tea. The rooms were clean and well equipped. A hearty breakfast was included and particularly enjoyed the corned beef hash. Fires were scattered around the property and s'more packs were available. Ice cream for $1 per scoop from 6-9pm. There was a movie theater showing Alaska movies. My one complaint was a barking dog in the room next door but reception took care of it.

Yelp
We only stayed here one night after a horrible experience at Sophie's station. This hotel is very close to the airport and shuttle service was excellent, they really go above and beyond. There's also a nice restaurant next door so didn't have to go far for food

Yelp
The walls are UNBELIEVABLY thin! I could hear every distinct word coming from next door. I went to bed early and turned the fan on in the bathroom for noise to drown out the talking!

Yelp
We arrived 20 minutes early for our 3pm check in and was told our room was ready but if we wanted to go up before 3pm we would have to pay $25! So we sat in a lobby full of others waiting for their rooms as well. So when 3pm came we now had to stand in line to check in! This is how the hotel thanks their customers for booking with them!! They would rather let a room sit and inconvenience customers to try to squeeze $25 more dollars out of them for a whole 20 minutes!!! Last time we will ever use them!!

Yelp
Neat place!! Customer service is exceptional especially at the front desk! We stayed in the newly built Wing World rooms. Very neat design and decor! Only issue is the stand alone building is not attached to the main lodge. Wasn't a problem for us on a nice warm day in June, but it would not be ideal if it was raining or when it's super cold getting back and forth for breakfast in the mornings. All in all for what is available, we really enjoyed it and would stay here again.

Yelp
This review is in two parts: Shuttle Service and Lodging and Staff: Shuttle Service I waited 2 hours for a shuttle from the train station. Later I had to return my rental car at the airport, and I waited for the shuttle again. And the pickup location was quite unusual. Lodging and Staff The rooms are fine, but I'm not sleeping much. The complementary breakfast is good, and I like their steam room with essential oils. I'm tough as nails, but I like steam rooms, pedicures, and massages. Don't judge me! The staff is quite nice, and they offer Aurora wake-up calls! If the lights are bright, they will call you. That's nice! - I'm a minimalist when it comes to me, but apparently I have some expectations about things, fair expectations. My awful experience with the shuttle service probably colored my review, and with the right leadership, this place has the potential to be much better.

Yelp
Came here for my hubby's birthday. Initially rented the cabins but they were being renovated. The resort called and switched our cabin to a king suite. Would definitely recommend this place. It's clean and close to airport, coffee, Safeway grocery, and convenient to walk to Pikes Landing restaurant. The resort had ice cream socials every night. Hot breakfast in the am. Complimentary coffee in their nice lobby. And bar opens at 5! Resort also had a decent gift shop. This place pretty much had all you need. And a gym! The decor throughout was very unique. This place is warm and lots to look at. Staff were very helpful. Everyone in Fairbanks is just... NICE!

Yelp
Great lodge right on the river with a beautiful interior. The rooms are great for a stay in the snow, my room also has a jacuzzi tub in the main room and standard tub in the bathroom. Breakfast is fabulous and has a ton of food! The people working here are super sweet and helpful. There is also a lobby bar opened until 10. I would definitely come back in the summer.

Yelp
Wow! Absolutely incredible stay at this lodge. They definitely put a lot of attention to detail to make their customers' stay really comfortable and memorable. The customer service is great and the complementary breakfast is yummy. There are also aurora viewing rooms and shelves of books for leisure reading. They also give each guest a token for free ice cream. The lodge is located right next to the Chena River, so you get some view of that. The restaurant and bar just a short walk away had great food and service as well. We would highly recommend this place for your visit to Fairbanks!

Yelp
No complaints on the staff. They didn't have our room ready and the hotel smells weird but we didn't have to wait too long. The room was close to the main lobby free breakfast and coffee and the beds were comfortable enough. It was convenient to be close to the airport, their restaurant and the downtown area. My major issue was the hard water destroying my hair as well as the viewing choices on the tv were very limited with equal amount of repetitive commercial time.

Yelp
It's a first time experience in Alaska for my wife, son, and I. We stay three nights at this wonderful lodging in Fairbanks. Great location near the airport and many spectacular tourist sites , many amenities, some free activities, really good restaurant, Pikes landing, and very cool lodging and awesome artistry. I can't ask for any better friendly customer service and courtesy shuttle service awesome continental breakfast. Definitely memorable experience of a lifetime !

Yelp
Very cute. Quaint lodge that really build the atmosphere for a log cabin in the inside. Lots of art of dogs and emphasis on this spot being the starting line for the Iditarod several years ago. Funky portraits of dogs. They have a reading/hangout nook with books and some board games. There is a breakfast room and a conference/extra tables room. At the check in, they have a cool aurora forecast and they will call your room if the aurora is out. We were not lucky enough to get the aurora seeker rooms (cz we didn't pay for that). But you have access to everything that comes with that package. They have a cute library, a small movie theatre where a movie about an aurora seeker plays on loop. There is a conservatory, which had snow on the top so no view of the sky. You can see the river with some trees in between. A play area is also located outside. The room itself is spacious and very beautiful. Loved the bed cz it was huge!! Breakfast was a buffet kind and very filling. Lots of options. They also have cookies and coffee all day at the check in counter. And don't miss the ice cream social every day 6-8pm. We spent the evening exploring the hotel. Loved it. I will definitely stay here again if I visit Fairbanks. I bet it will be gorgeous in the summer!

Yelp
Checked in early after a rough day on the frontlines Very unique experience and very cozy rooms. The restaurant next door is also pretty good

Yelp
Very nice and friendly staff. Nice location but a little remote...one would require a vehicle to get anywhere. Breakfast was reasonably priced but same menu items every morning and no bacon or pastries offerred and only "bread" was english muffins. Front Desk is much too strict with 11AM checkout. They need to be more flexible and stagger or plan their room cleaning...not every room is cleaned at 11AM! This seems to be a high turnover hotel catering to tour buses/groups. We were with a cruisetour group and had extended our stay 5 extra nites on our own and had requested a nice room with a nice view of the Chena River. This was requested over 2 months in advance prior to our stay with follow-up emails and phone calls because they do not reply to their emails on a timely basis! Instead, we were given a room with a terrible view of the roof and A/C vents! We had to see the FD to get another room...inconvenient! BTW, hotel is located right next to airport and highway so one will hear plane engines and vehicles zooming by...even at night!

Yelp
This hotel was booked for us as part of a tour package so I think we got a better room. This is a cute hotel with lots of old-time Alaska pictures, paintings and historical facts posted everywhere depicting past and modern Alaskan life. Their collection of paintings are stunning and beautiful and seemed like they belong in a museum. Don't miss the clips on the Alaskan sled dogs and the Iditarod! This hotel hosted the start of the Iditarod several times and if you love dogs, you will love the dog themes here. The grounds and landscaping are gorgeous with potted flowers everywhere. There is a river running in back of the property and from our window we can see the Alaskan sun setting over the river with trees and flowers in the background and foreground. If you are here over the summer, be sure to see the giant cabbages they have planted! (with Fairbanks getting around 20 hours of sun every day over the summer, the vegetables grow very large!) There is a mini pee-wee golf course in the back adding to it being a fun place to stay with all the things to see and do here. Service here was good, there was a problem in our room and they came and fixed it promptly. We only ate in the restaurant for breakfast which was included in our package and the food was decent. In the evening they have an ice cream station right by the lobby with very good ice cream!

Yelp
Had an amazing time room had a great view. Breakfast was good only downside is it's the same thing every day. Hotel bar was well priced. Employees after extremely helpful. Nice sauna to warm up at the end of the day. I would highly recommend that you stay if you're traveling to Fairbanks.

Yelp
Back in Late August 2022 we walked from the (FAI) Fairbanks, AK. Airport to the lodge for breakfast and a look at the area for future endeavors! Breakfast buffet was good and decent price for AK. The building and grounds are beautiful, unfortunately they did have a lot of road work going on while we were there. We also did not stay overnight here due to early afternoon flight out to (SEA) Seattle, WA. Will be back for more fun times to come!

Yelp
Highly HIGHLY recommend! For the price I paid I got amazing service, excellent wifi, free and delicious breakfast with free ice cream and overall great access to facilities! The staff was friendly enough to keep our luggage an extra few hours after check out. They even did wake up calls for the aurora lights! Quick tip: bring your own tide pods they charge $1 per pod

Yelp
Warmth and charm with a real Alaska Feel. The room was comfortable and the staff were helpful and friendly. It is located right on the banks of the Chena River with great views of the river and the hills in the background. The complementary breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant next door was very convenient.
