Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park (Amsterdam, North Holland) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Even in summer, there’s a crisp, collegiate, fall-is-in-the-air atmosphere at the Pillows Grand Boutique Hotel Maurits at the Park. It’s an impression that makes perfect sense when you learn that this luxury boutique hotel makes its home inside a restored university building that dates back to 1908. With its elegant brick facade, high-arching ceilings, and large windows overlooking Amsterdam’s leafy Oosterpark, it’s more like the movie version of academia, and its light-filled rooms, with bespoke beds, heated floors, and Diptyque bath products, are a far cry from a college dorm. The best suite even has a grand piano and a marble bathroom with a soaking tub. Complimentary snacks and drinks are available around the clock in the modern guest lounge, and a collection of restaurants and bars — including a chic brasserie and a roaring twenties-style cocktail lounge named after F. Scott Fitzgerald — add to the appeal." - Tablet Hotels

We had a wonderful time at the Pillows Hotel. Everyone was very attentive and helpful. The hotel is fairly new and beautifully decorated. Location is next to a beautiful park and our room was over looking the park. The spring brasserie was wonderful and the breakfast items were so beautifully presented. Aurora was a ray of sunshine, taking care of us in the morning. Stephan the concierge also took time to help us figure out our itinerary for our days in Amsterdam. They have a roof top bar but unfortunately we didn't have the time to visit. The only issue I could see with our stay was that our room's bathroom was in a separate location than the shower and sink. It was kind of awkward but probably because of the location of the room. Also I recommend that they put screens on the sliding door in the room as we really liked to open the sliding door and enjoy the beautiful weather but was afraid of bugs coming in. All in all one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The hotel was also very close to the transit which made it convenient.

This unique boutique hotel in the prettiest neighborhood in Amsterdam, is a treasure. We found it quite accidentally. We had escaped the hotel we were staying at and booked our last day and night at the Pillows Grand Boutique. It is an old high school that has been completely renovated- yet preserving the amazing architectural detail of the original building, into this magical space. The room & bath were like a little sanctuary with original tall windows opening to the gorgeous park surrounding the hotel. Cafe was beautiful and we ate outdoors off the garden, with truffle parm pasta prepared by the chef tableside. Sweet local girl who served us was kind and engaging. The evening- and trip ended with custom cocktails - garnished with fresh florals at the Fitz bar - hidden on the lower level. The only thing that exceeded the amenities and space - was the staff. From a welcome upon entering by the doorman - to the wonderful front desk staff that took care of every detail. My only recommendation would be to open a Pillows Grand Boutique in the United States - Texas particularly. Thank you again for the perfect end to our holiday.

Absolutely fell in love with the Pillows. It is currently my favorite hotel in the world. The staff is so helpful and efficient. The concierge we spoke with was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us wonderful recommendations and advice and also a great history lesson. The location is peaceful and serene. The hotel is on the edge of a park and close to tram stops that will get you to wherever you need to go. The Wereldmuseum is next door and definitely worth visiting. The Botanic Garden and Zoo are within walking distance. Breakfast at the Spring Cafe was a treat - absolutely delicious with fresh smoothies, cereal bowels, egg dishes, and the best pancakes (fluffy on the inside with crisp edges). Van Oost is the fine dining restaurant and also delicious. Our room was spotless and soothing and so comfortable. It was rejuvenating just being in the room. Architecturally, the hotel is beautiful. I'm running out of superlatives. Wholeheartedly recommend the Pillows without reservations!

I’m still thinking about our wonderful stay at Pillows four months later. From the warm and personalized check-in in the Living Room, through the delicious dinner and breakfasts at Spring, to a beautiful final evening nightcap at Fitz, we had a perfect stay. The staff were so kind, professional, and friendly - always welcoming us “home” after a day biking (!) or walking the city. They made the experience truly 5 star and were a perfect example of what luxury hotel service should be. We loved being able to take the tram or walk to and from the city center or from the museums. We strolled home through our back garden park, feeling totally at home, and got to fall asleep in the most comfortable bed after exploring. We miss you and hope to come back soon.

Top quality Staff, services, amenities and rooms. The Staff is consistently professional, knowledgeable, personable and proficient. The breakfast is extensive and delicious. Our bedroom was lovely, with floor to ceiling windows and of course fabulous linens and Pillows!||I have written many Trip Advisor reviews over the years, and this review is one of the highest ratings that I have given. Truly a gem in the middle of a beautiful city. Definitely stay here and enjoy the top quality service!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the weekend and could not have been happier. The service was TOP NOTCH, from check in to check out — the staff was kind, welcoming, and attentive. Gorgeous room (with Diptyque products!), super comfortable bed. Rooftop bar was lovely and the cocktail bar on the lower level had AMAZING cocktails. Location was nicely removed from the touristy hustle and bustle, right near a beautiful park and a lot of cool bars and restaurants. Perfect experience, highly recommended!

There is no competition, Pillows Grand Hotel in Amsterdam is the apex of quality in thus city. We had a 6 night stay in this dreamy place, and we absolutely loved it. |The hotel itself is an experience on its own, its situated on top of a spacious park and lots of greenery, in a quiet quaint street opposite a canal. |The staff is genuine and professional, rooftop bar, a sun-terrace brasserie among the trees, a late night bar at floor level with perfect ambience, and even a Michelin Star rated fine dining in house restaurant(!)|The rooms are 10/10, newly built, housekeeping is excellent, everything here is just perfect from A to Z. |We couldnt be happier with our stay. |You want to live good in Amsterdam forget the Waldorf Astoria and others, Pillows At The Park is where its at!

Great pillows (and beds). Seriously, every aspect was exceptional: well designed rooms, wonderful eating/drinking venues, earnest hospitality. It’s located in an historic building in East Amsterdam, an area we’d not previously explored. Highly recommended!
