Disappointed 😞 but a beautiful venue. Food was decent, not much choice, and very simple. Asked for large wine, was given just over a small wine based on the 2 lines on the glass, which was pricey for $20. We asked for a different bread for the Reuben sandwhich, which couldn't be accommodated as we were told they are pre-made sandwiches. The wait time for a pre-made sandwich was strangely long. Food delivered intermittently, first person served was finished and walking around the venue then eventually the final food was served after everyone else had eaten. Prawn roll made me feel ill afterwards. Friendly service but not very attentive. Very few places to eat in the shade, I felt roasted after eating. More sun protection is needed.

Disappointed. Used to visit the Pilot Station kiosk regularly for delicious fish and chips to eat by the water, either by the river or the beach. Sad to find the seafood menu is no longer offered. Such a lovely spot, and the staff are always friendly, but I miss the fish and chips. Will have to go elsewhere now. 😞

Great little place, excellent fish and chips, happy friendly service, amazing views. Had the fish tacos, fish and chips and pineapple fritters, all were great. Many Gluten Free options and they understand Coeliacs, even GF beer to have with my GF battered fish, 10/10 for inclusion, 5/10 for my diet 😄.

Our family love to visit here in the warmer months for lovely fish and chips after a trip to the beach ⛱️ sadly today we turn up to learn they no longer offer fish and chips or any deep fried for that matter. Ice cream for lunch it was 😆 really disappointed that one of our favourite summer spots to visit has changed like this, why not offer all of the offerings? Service was absolutely lovely as always ❤️

Just soooo delicious! We bought the basket and the scallops were the best I’ve ever eaten. Beautiful prepared and cooked. Best piccolo latte I’ve had in my trip from Sydney through Tassie, exceptional place, must visit. We stayed in the cottage too, very special few days. Check opening times/days so you don’t miss out.

Took my grandsons to the Pilots Providore today as I’ve enjoyed the food there several times before. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the prawns rolls. The portion size was more like a snack rather than a lunch. It was hard to find the prawns amongst the overpowering white sauce. The prawns were cut to make them thinner and there was very little prawn. In addition it wasn’t a ‘roll’, it was a tiny bun with a small amount of iceberg lettuce. Even my 9 year old grandson was still hungry after eating this puny portion for $16.

Wonderful spot great food and happy smiling service. BUT what a shame this iconic local Cafe has now succumbed to the tourist dollar and will close up shop to be replaced with a providore. Yet another mainland mindset... Thank you so much for your reply. This is wonderful news. A real win win for everyone!😀 we'll be back!

Ripper smallish café & licensed-restaurant with friendly ‘hip’ staff serving an excellent lightly battered fish & chips, chicken & artichoke pie and bread & butter pudding. Excellent to find this gem nestled amongst the historic buildings on the Maritime Museum grounds at the end of the road in Low Head with cool views while protected from the elements. Thank you for being worth the visit.
