Pilsen Restaurant et Pub

Went to the Pilsen after an hour of biking and had a great time. We got there around 1:30 p.m. on a Saturday in July, and there were no tables available on the terrace. It was a very hot day, so we preferred sitting inside with the AC, especially after all the biking. It took a while before they took our orders, but the food came quickly after that. I ordered the burger and absolutely loved it. Rich, big, and full of bacon and sauce, it was really delicious and filling. Even I couldn’t finish it, and I don’t remember the last time I didn’t eat my whole plate. My friend ordered the Caesar salad and didn’t enjoy it as much. The food presentation was nice, but it was hard to eat and had way too much lettuce compared to everything else. I walked around, and the view from the outside tables is hard to beat. Nice view of the river with bikes, boats, and people just enjoying the summer. Overall, great place, and I enjoyed my time there.

I got the ribs and they were absolutely amazing. Some of the best I've ever had. It was dark when we went but it was still pretty. Location is right next to the water.

Tried the fish and chicken with some drinks — all hit the spot! The sunset view made it even better. Great vibes, good food, and chill atmosphere. Definitely worth it!

Had an amazing experience here. I went with my brother and sister in law and we ate like kings and queens. The food is simply amazing and the service was great. I would definitely come back here often!

Came here off hours, had to wait abit to be seated. Allowed us to choose our seat. Everyone checked on us except our waitress. Not sure how tables are assigned. Drinks were great ! Food hit the spot. We had the beef burger and fish & chips. Food came really fast. Waiting for the bill. You need patience when you come here ;) A great place to enjoy a million dollar view.

Tried here for dinner on the second last night of our stay in North Hatley, a little apprehensive because of some mixed reviews. But had maybe the best meal of our mini-vacation. All of the food was excellent, the view of course is perfect, and both service and wine selection were also bang on. Enjoyed it so much that we came back the following night!

Absolutely amazing!!! From the onion soup and calamari to the steak and jerk chicken fantastic!!! Service was great and friendly!! Very much worth the drive from wherever you are for the most delicious, light and crispy fish and chips I've had in a while!! HIGHLY recommended!!!

Apart from the view the food is just plain atrocious. They even served us cold fries after a lengthy wait for the food. Not recommended at all. Did not worth the price, if you want a good view of the lake, go to the park right next door, don’t waste money here. The server also asks us to increase tips after we are extremely disappointed. What a shame really…

Giving it 3 stars ONLY due to its location and view of the lake. If you order a basic burger, I'm not sure what they do to spice it but it's awful. Just salt and pepper the darn thing and cook it. I haven't actually eaten anything there that was worth writing home about such as the fish and chips, burgers, ribs, etc. I would be afraid of dropping big bucks for a steak given that they can't get a burger right. The place does great and is always crowded because there's only three restaurants in the area and Pilsen has the nicest setting. Bar is fun and drinks are OK though I don't have much confidence that they have a tender that can make awesome drinks. I'm not saying don't go, just don't expect food that matches the atmosphere.

Went twice last weekend and the service in both visits was so slow it was unbelievable and unacceptable Continents shift faster!!

Great, its in my hometown and other than the rather expensive food, its a great spot.

Food was basically inedible- fish and chips was over fried, burger was dry and tough. Service was excellent, however.

Nice outdoor bar and eating areas that are perfect during this time of Covid-19. Delicious cocktail drinks with beautifully prepared and presented food. A little pricey but well worth the occasional special treat!

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly all wrapped into one. The Good: Great location especially the outdoor patio overlooking the river. The Bad: 'Double fried' fish and chips...maybe left overs from the Sunday reheated as this was a Monday evening (Chefs night off ?) ...The worst I have ever had! The Ugly: The fact it was $19 a portion. Must say, friendly staff except a trifle inattentive..our wine arrived well after the rapid delivery of our fish dish...which arrived about 3 minutes after ordering, hence my suspicion it was not newly cooked. Wine prices were reasonable by the way and some of the other Pub Menu items I saw being delivered looked marginally more appetizing. Didn't expect a fine dining experience but even so, a struggle to give it one star. If you have low expectations then no problem...it may exceed them.

Had the worst experience there....three times. As there is nowhere else to buy cocktails in North Hatley I keep giving them chances but no more. In a nut shell, the Pilsen is the type of place where if there is any type of problem, it's you, not them. Their manager "Fred" is a useless bell end. The food is overpriced and mediocre at best. Do yourself and pick up a bag of chips next door at the convenience store.... better service and you won't get gouged.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. We had a great experience downstairs in the pub. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was great. It definitely wasn't a cheap meal but we have no regrets!

Stinky foul smelly mussels. Spit out four of the first six and called it quits. The manager had the audacity to say that nothing was wrong and "that's the way the wine sauce should smell". Good lord. The fries were both limp and drenched in fat. Even my Beer was filled three inches from the rim of the glass. Wretched. Steer clear of this place.

Service is okay. The Mac and cheese is pretty bad. Too much cream, too little cheese. Pasta is overcooked. The smoke duck is too chewy. Highly over priced for what it is.

We ordered the sausages and sauerkraut, which came with fries, and asked if we could do half fries and half salad which the waiter said was alright. When our food came we had two sausages and a salad. We asked where the sauerkraut was because the dish was called "sausages and sauerkraut" and after three trips back and forth to the kitchen the waiter told us the salad replaced the sauerkraut and the fries. He then said he could bring the sauerkraut out for us, and when we got the bill it said: "Sausages and Sauerkraut....$X-Dollars +Salad........................................$X-Dollars +Sauerkraut...............................$X-Dollars" So while we ordered sausages, sauerkraut, salad, and fries we only received sausages, salad, and sauerkraut and were charged double for the pleasure. They refused to change the bill. Though the ambiance is wonderful, the food was unremarkable and the mix-up left a sour taste in our mouths. I would try to Hovey Manor or Café du Lac instead.

Basically the only game in town. Fortunately a wonderful pub with a great menu and carefully prepared dishes. Efficient staff , especially Frederic. Covid restrictions carefully enforced. Highly recommend

Very costly, out of what we wanted they were out of smoked salmon, out of stout beer they of duplings. Got in at 7:30 and got our food cold at 9:30 Had to ask twice to get moved inside since food was so late, waitress did not want to at first, after a second request (9:00) they finally moved us inside. That's when they told us the apertures were not available. They also lost an onion soup, never offered to redo it. When we got inside the waiter was clueless as to what we ordered, the hand off was delt like the rest of the dining experience. Had to repeat my order. Waited 15 minutes never asked if we wanted another drink, the. I had to go back and ask him for the food, he went into the kitchen and found our food ... Cold Will never go back there and will never promote it. Has to be one of the worst experience and we've travelled around the country and abroad. Good Luck Pilsen

The Fish & Chips were possibly the best I have ever had. My tablemate's cod dish was prepared with pride and was beautifully presented. All this in a pub! A great find.

Classic resto/pub in North Hatley. I'm surprised by the reviews- this is a popular place for locals, excellent views, great house-made beer and their food isn't "cheap" but definitely delicious!!

Unfortunately the service is awful. The food is ok but by the time we got it it was cold and the waiting for everything meant that there was no way to ask for things. We ordered appetisers and a main and when it took forever for the main, the waiter told us that nobody brings a main right after an appetiser. it only gets ordered when the appetiser is complete. Lastly, there are tons of flies because it's not really that clean outside. Not worth the visit. It's sad because the place has enormous potential with the location. Maybe one day with new management.

It was disappointing. Very slow. Brought a dish that was suppose to have artisanal meats and there was no meat. Then they tried to tell us it was the Same but they didn't have any meats. Charcuterie is a meat sampling and we got a strange salad instead. Wait was out waiters only expression.

It's a good place toe at after a day of strolling around North Hatley. We enjoyed the food and overall had a great time.

I will be certain to NOT recommend Pilsen Pub to anyone. The food is terrible, the prices are outrageous given the quality, quantity and taste of the food and the service is terrible. Our waiter either hovered way to close or he could not be found. We will never ever set foot in that place again!!

Very nice place! We ate next to the fireplace. The food superb! Ate duck and salmon and vegetable cream soup. Outstanding service. Very enjoyable dinner!
