A great gallery and well worth a visit. We managed to visit the Graduate show at the same time and were very happy to be there when this was on . Lots of good student work that gave us so many ideas to try ourselves when back in Scotland.

Well curated but mostly religious iconography. We went on the first Sunday of the month so it was free.

Beautiful museum with 30 rooms full of paintings from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century, including the early Renaissance period. They have some absolutely breathtaking masterpieces, paintings that are over 7 meters tall and 3.5 meters wide. The museum is super clean and there is A/C in most rooms. I would say generally an hour is enough time to see it entirely. We visited in the morning, at open (9AM), and got tickets on the spot, as there was no line. Students of art enter for free, and young adults (18-25) pay €2 for entry. The adult ticket is €6.

A great museum. Where 2 hours were not enough !!! If you like XIV & XV painting and frescoes, this is a beautiful place to be. Plus it is air conditioned 😆

This was an outstanding art museum. While not nearly as large as the Uffizi, it is well curated and quite enjoyable.

Fantastic galleries. Two hours well spent. Some amazing frescoes in that museum. You are smartly guided through the periods, it's very pleasant. Recommended.

Lovely collection but be aware that it's mostly religious art / icons on display. Stunning examples of its kind pulled from historical altars with different depictions of crucifixion, apostles etc. Caution - when we visited - June 2025 - a large part of the museum was closed to the public due to the ongoing refurbishment. Still worth the money - there was plenty to see even with the limited display.

Stopped in here on a whim after a truly terrible tour elsewhere, and it redeemed our day. A gem of museum for art from Bologna. Descriptions in both Italian and English.
