Pinacoteca is an old fortress. Inspiring picture collection focused obviously on native Parmigianino. Inside the museum situated the old wooden teatro Farnese which was replaced with new modern opera theatre (less spectacular). Inside the museum there is a real gem which is la Decapellata by Da Vinci.

Someone else noted that the signage is in Italian, but I was given an informative English pamphlet on arrival. The only other person I saw throughout my visit was a security guard who gave me plenty of privacy. Excellent way to get a closeup view of medieval art plus the inside of the monastery. And it’s free!

Well kept Pinacoteca with two floors of paintings in a gorgeous old building.

Not for international tourist - all descriptions are in Italian only. The gallery is large but there is only one painting that really stand outs, unless it’s your first time in a gallery you probably will be disappointed. Entrance is free.

Fantastic gallery with amazing shows. Definitely check this space out and be amazed.

Blown away by the quality of the exhibition. The first floor exposed a small collection of mediaeval works, but the first floor contains a much larger collection of masterpieces from local artists and some other more famous ones. There's even a gorgeous painting of the Canaletto

The museum itself is nice (and free!) But I had the most unnerving experience of a staff member following me around silently 5 steps behind. Because of how unnatural it seemed (and believe me, I've been to a lot of museums) I could not force myself to stay and enjoy the exhibition - almost like they wanted me to leave for some reason. Edit: after reading the other reviews changing this to 1 from 2 stars as it seems this behavior is a repeating theme which is not being fixed.

Named after the philanthropist and collector Giuseppe Stuard this interesting collection is housed in part of a Benedictine monastery since 2002. Varied exhibits from archeological remains, sculptures, paintings, furniture and other items linked to the artistic history of Parma and the Stuard family. Free entrance.
