We couldn't have been happier with our delightful 5 day stay at Lord McAlpine House. We wanted a quiet, relaxed do nothing kind of holiday and it was perfect. Rinaldo was an excellent host and breakfast was perfect. It's not a resort style place, more like being in a soothing family home. Pool was great, loved it.

Stayed here for five days last month and it was lovely. Marilyn and her staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts each morning were beautiful. We would all sit around at a big table downstairs and it was lovely to get to know other people staying there and listening to their stories and about their lives and travels.|We stayed in the old quarter in the library retreat. A beautiful old pearlers cottage so very original with big old balconies where you could sit and just read and relax but you couldn't because the mosquitos were bloody annoying. You had to carry bug spray everywhere you went in Broome as they were so bad.|There was a lovely pool which was refreshing of an afternoon to come home to after a long day of walking and sightseeing. |Beautiful gardens and parking onsite which was good. A bit out of the town centre but close to beach|Definitely worth staying here while in Broome.

Ronaldo, Marilynne and Garry were superb hosts with great care and energy. Their hospitality and service was incredible. We valued their flexibility, recommendations and helpfulness. Nothing was ever a trouble. I appreciated all of their gestures including Ronaldo giving me a courtesy call approx 6 months prior to share local knowledge and trip advice, the hot breakfasts at the communal dining table and the fabulous recommendations to explore Broome. The accommodation had so much character and heritage. From the artwork, gardens, parrots and architecture - it was just a wonderful place to stay! I would highly recommend the Pinctada to anyone who wants a personal experience and near Broome town. The hosts went above and beyond to create an incredible experience, thank you!

We spent five nights here and loved it. It is so beautiful and relaxing with wonderful and informative hosts. We were in one of the garden suites that were built more recently and are so well designed. The bed is very comfortable with beautiful linen and there are lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Good reading lights were very welcome. Every detail has been thought through carefully.||Breakfast is served in the morning and a different hot dish prepared each day. ||Ronaldo gave us fantastic advice about the restaurants we should go to , as well as coffee shops and galleries. ||Pinctada McAlpine House is a very special little hotel with a fascination history and we felt lucky to have stayed there.

We recently spent two nights at Pinctada McAlpine House. What a gorgeous place! On arrival we were welcomed by our host, Marilynne, who is an elegant, lovely lady. We also met her corgi, Lewellyn, who was personality-plus and a very sweet little dog. We stayed in the Pearlers Verandah Room which is a tastefully decorated room with a large ensuite. French doors open up onto a verandah which overlooks the garden where we spent time reading while enjoying a cool breeze and a glass of wine. There is a secure parking area at the back of the house with a remote-controlled lockable gate to keep your car safe. A hot breakfast is served each morning on the verandah near the pool where you can sit at a large dining table, if you love a chat like we do, and get acquainted with the other guests or you can sit quietly at a smaller separate table if you prefer your privacy. Marilynne is a very interesting lady to talk to and was extremely gracious and welcoming during our stay. We had a relaxing two nights at Pinctada McAlpine House. It is a very peaceful place and, apart from leaving our room for a bus tour or an occasional drive around town (which were all close by), we were easily able to unwind and relax. We would highly recommend Pinctada McAlpine House.

We had long dreamed of staying in this Colonial era B + B years ago, and finally we did and were not disappointed. Marilynne the host and chef co manager Ronnie were fabulous hosts.|We stayed upstairs in a large room with huge outdoor balcony overlooking the pool and rest of the house. The bed was comfy, beautiful fresh linens, lovely amenities in bathroom.|The hosts were able to provide lots of information about things to do or places to eat.|Breakfast was taken at a long table, other smaller tables are available, and we met and talked to other guests while a gorgeous breakfast was served. Fresh juice, plunger coffee and teas, toast, cooked eggs which varied in style each day. |In the heat of the afternoon we sat and had a glass of wine while reading books on the lounge outside our room. The old colonial vibe was everywhere and made us feel "at home", such was the tranquility and service.|It was a short walk to the town bus (stop )which came every half an hour, close to the airport, and cable beach a 15 mins bus ride. Taxis are plentiful for far after hours dining.|After 4 days of bliss, were sad to leave but had places to go. We would highly recommend this B + B for personal attention and comfort.

Boutique accommodation with some of the best customer service I've ever experienced . A highlight of our trip to Broome was staying at McAlpine House. This is boutique accommodation at its best. The hospitality afforded to us by the divine and gracious host Marilynne was what made the stay so special. Marilynne’s knowledge of the local environs is second to none and she knows a thing or two about the pearling industry too. Rinaldo was great at organising tours and transports and even managed to get us into some hard to book restaurants. We stayed in the McAlpine suite which has a lovely sized room that included a claw foot bath. And the Christian Lacroix toiletries made it extra special. Not to mention the delightful range of Fortnum & Mason teas available at breakfast.
