The Jasper Dark Sky Festival Returns This Fall — Here's How to Plan the Perfect Trip

"For a more private stay, I recommend Pine Bungalows, which offers private cabins with full bathrooms, heated floors, gas fireplaces, and kitchens, as well as traditional hotel rooms on-site for those wanting simpler accommodations." - Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca Stacey Leasca is an award-winning journalist and co-founder of Be a Travel Writer, an online course for the next generation of travel journalists. In October, my husband and I visited Jasper for our first time (from Ontario) and we couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay at Pine Bungalows. Our cabin was perfect. The site is so serene. Bed was very comfy. Love the complimentary firewood and personal outdoor fireplace. The on-site restaurant was delish! Enjoyed one dinner and two breakfast meals. 10/10 would recommend. Also, we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and the staff left a complimentary bottle of wine in our room - so sweet <3

I could not recommend Pine Bungalows enough! It has all the benefits of being out in the wilderness but with a comfy and spacious cabin and only a short drive into town. The riverside cabins are well spaced out so you don't get any disturbance from other guests. My partner and I loved spending every night relaxing by our fire and enjoying the beautiful view. I hope we get the chance to stay again if we ever go back to Canada!

We really enjoyed our stay at Pine Bungalows Jasper. Great place to unwind. There are options of cabins on the river, around parklands and or plan b rooms at the lodge located main reception and Kumama restaurant. We chose upstairs in the lodge which was great close to everything. You can sit by outside open fires, go for walk along beautiful river and look at stunning mountain views. There are many photos on Pine Bungalows website. The rooms are cabin style but comfortable. The big highlight was the Kumama restaurant onsite at reception area open for breakfast and dinner. The food was amazing and we ate there both nights. The Cauliflower dish was favorite and we had that both nights. Important to book this restaurant ahead. Jasper township is close by car and very quiet compared to Banff.

2 night girls trip, perfect location in the river front cabin. Beautiful view while relaxing outside reading by the fire. Having a kitchen was great for making some quick meals and snacks. I recommend bringing a hatchet to make some extra kindling for fire and bring sticks for cooking hotdogs or smores as those aren't provided. Overall loved our time there, its a great place to relax and unwind and escape the hustle and bustle. Can't wait to return.

We have spent 4 nights in pine bungalows and we wish we could have stayed much more. The environment is perfect, you feel like you are in the middle of the forest and not somewhere man made. We stayed at a cabin with a river view, we sat every morning and evening in front of our cabin and saw a gorgeous squirrel looking for food, so cute! During the nights there is not artificial light outside so you can stargaze if the sky is clear, having free wood for the fire pit was a super plus we were not counting on when we got there. The cabin is beautiful, clean, new, and has everything you could need. We got our own food and cooked there every evening, you have everything you need there. The gas fireplace was lovely and again unexpected so huge plus for us. Nice bathroom with good water pressure in the shower. We didn't eat in the restaurant so we cannot say if good or bad, however we bought some nice Jasper beer from them. The employees are polite and lovely. We cannot say enough about this place, my husband and I sat every night outside and praised the place and how fortunate we were to be able to enjoy it. Jasper and Pine bungalows have been the best part of our first trip to the Rockies and Canada and we will be coming back in future 100%

We had a 2 night stay at Pine Bungalows, Jasper. Wish we could have stayed longer. Check in was super quick and easy. We drove to our riverside cabin and it was amazing. It was warm and cozy, these individual log cabins offer privacy, warmth and they were well equipped with a small kitchen, bathroom, comfy bed, dining table and chairs, easy chairs and a gas fire controlled by your temp gauge which would start up and run off throughout the day and. Isn’t keeping the cabin at your desired temperature. Outside we had our own table and chairs and a fire pit which the staff supply 1 bag of firewood so you can have your own camp fire. The surroundings were in amongst the natural forestry and our cabin was on the river front so we had beautiful views of the river and mountains. A beautiful place to stay and would highly recommend this retreat.

We stayed in the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom chalet this past weekend, and I can't say enough good things about the Pine Bungalows. The chalet was immaculate, beautifully furnished and the beds are very comfortable. The linens were of high quality too. The chalet is well stocked for 10 people with lots of utensils, dinnerware, pots, pans and wine glasses. The staff and management were friendly and professional, and helped make our stay fantastic. They pay attention to details and are very accommodating with any requests. The grounds are beautiful too and they are walking distance to downtown, but at the same time the location is peaceful and quiet. 24 people in our group and we had a great time playing corn hole and sitting around the campfire visiting with our family. I can't wait to return and would definitely recommend Pine Bungalows in Jasper. I give it 10/10.

This was our 4th time staying at Pine Bungalows, we are looking forward to our 5th. It is a peaceful spot, and a perfect place for a quiet little get away. The staff were friendly and efficient, the cabin was clean and you can't beat the location! We enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the fire and we were lucky enough to have a gorgeous Northern Lights display above our heads on our first night. Great value as well.
