Nice campground, each site has a table and a fire ring tent pad clear of rocks. Bathrooms have vault toilets but the bathrooms are very clean. The camp hosts do a very good job in keeping the grounds clean and bathrooms clean. I got in a little later than expected so I have not been able to explore the area yet. But I saw the West Fork Trailhead on the way in and it's very close to that.

I recently stayed at Campsite 21, which is located right across from the entrance. The campsite is nestled in a scenic canyon next to Oak Creek, offering a peaceful setting with beautiful views. Plus, Sedona is only a 30-minute drive away, making it a good base for exploring the area. However, there were some major drawbacks. The site is right next to the toilets, and the smell was overwhelming at times. While I was car camping, I really felt for anyone in a tent, as the odor was hard to escape. On top of that, the noise from the nearby highway was constant—loud and noticeable 24/7. It really detracted from the tranquility you’d expect in such a natural setting. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this might not be the best choice.

Google
The sites smell awful. You smell poop all night from the bathrooms! The host (both couple and man) are so strict with everything. They won’t leave you alone. Constantly drive up and checking on what you are doing. No fires were permitted and it wasn’t even windy. Beautiful nice calm nights and no fires were allowed. I will be canceling my next trip in a few weeks. No freedom here!!

Great rangers, location and atmosphere. Not great for hiking but we made it work. If you just want to dip your feet in some cool water on a hot day it's perfect, the water isn't deep here but it's cold. No showers and try to avoid sites too close to the restrooms because of the smell on windy days. Otherwise it's great.

We have spent two nights in the space 19, which is a really good spot overall, has access to the creek and further away from others. However, overall the bathrooms were quite bad, and I mean really bad with pee on the floor for 2 days. Then there were people getting the natural spring water day and night, to the point of parking on our camp sight 1 time. Yes the road is close and you hear every car driving by so this is not the spot to get peace and quiet or see the stars. The mountains around are beautiful. Yes we would still come but definitely a different spot and hopefully cleaner next time.

Google
Such a nice campground! The road was a little close, but the camp hosts and other campers were all so friendly and courteous. Camp toilets were very well maintained, and beautiful views. Would come back!

Google
The camp host was anything but a host. He was incredibly rude, intrusive, accusatory and should not be around families, much less in a position of authority. ||||I am writing this on behalf of, and as a warning to any of the 40 million individuals who suffer from anxiety. His behavior is unacceptable and a danger to mental health. No less than 6 times did we suffer the indignation and threats of this insensitive and uninformed egotist driving into our campsite bent on a tirade that ultimately didn’t even involve us. ||||I’d be happy to provide any and all details as needed. ||||The short of it is beware of the Pine Flat Camp Host!

Google
Overpriced 28$ per night, but beautiful with good amenities 🎣🐟🎣There's a lot of trout way at the lower part of the campground around 35.010775,-111.739141 but they don't bite all too much, If you want to fish there, DO NOT🚫 use power bait using worms on a Texas rig might work, you might not see them but there are a lot in the more stiller water area, although they are easily frightened, LURES Are 50/50 I did get a nibble on one but it scares them. RECOMMEND BAIT- Use grasshoppers, Salmon eggs (egg imatation) or meat with sharp sharp hooks maybe use worms though as they sometimes get bites, although I repeat, DONT use power bait. (I would NOT 🚫recommend this place for a fishing and camping trip, I'd recommend Ashurt lake dispersed camping)

Yelp
This is such a beautiful campsite. It's located north of Sedona in Oak Creek Canyon in the Coconino National Forest. Just the drive itself on the 89A is gorgeous. Tall trees and Sedona's red rock cliffs make the drive so pretty and scenic. Pine Flat Campground has around 45 campsites. Half of them can be reserved online ahead of time. This campground is great for both families and animals. Oak Creek is right next to it and is usually stocked with trout. One of things I love about this place is waking up in the mornings to the huge canyon slopes that surround the campsite and the sound of flowing water from the creek. Pine Flat Campground has outhouses, fire rings, cement tables, and running water. The camp hosts have always been great and accommodating when I have camped here. If you are looking for activities, popular West Fork Trail is just a few miles away for hiking. You can drive a little bit more south and find Slide Rock State Park. It is one of the nation's best swimming holes. There are also a few convenience stores nearby if you are in need of supplies. I would say the only bad thing is the campground is located right off the 89A. The noise from the cars driving by can be a little annoying at night.

Yelp
Spent the night in space #27 on 06-17-2022. Drunk people in overcrowded site #25. The camp hosts didn't check sites after 10:00 pm. They continued with large campfire and drinking alcohol until way past 1:00 am. Zero participation by camp hosts. It was a beautiful place with rowdy out of control drunk men. No bueno ! Left a day early...

Natalie J.

Yelp
This place is cute and well taken care of. The staff is polite and cleans the sites thoroughly. Super close to oak creek and you can hear the water at night. Site 12 had very little noise from the road. Level ground for tent camping and one picnic table per site. The fire pits and Bbq's are super clean and easy to use. No showers or sinks to wash your hands or dishes, so be prepared to do that at your site. The vault toilets weren't bad, quite a few spiders there at night so take a light. Overall this a very solid place to camp and for the price it's worth it.

Yelp
This place was amazing! I went 10/30/21-10/31/21, last night they were open. The camp caretaker was an absolute angel to us . We had been looking for a camp site and unable to book online anywhere. I saw the sight from the road and just wanted to explore for a future reservation. The caretaker drove in a cart over to our car, we explained that we wanted to stay only one night and she told us that she had a site available for us, what a lifesaver! This camp site is the most scenic camp site Ive ever been to and I cant wait to come back next season.

Jaime P.

Yelp
Soooo clean! The dirt around the fire pit and tent spot literally had rake marks. The bathrooms were spotless- by far the cleanest pit toilets I've ever seen. So beautiful with all the trees and views of the red rocks. The road was close but it didn't bother us. Would definitely go back!

Rosie G.

Yelp
The site is beautiful, the campsite is clean, and the people are kind. However, none of this matters because the entire campground smells so intensely like sewage I spent the entire time trying not to vomit. I'm literally typing this from my tent at 7:54pm (great wifi btw) in an effort to escape the smell of the end of times. It's as if the site I booked was the vault toilet itself. I'm going to die here. Pray for me.

Joy H.

Yelp
Really beautiful campground. The hosts were amazing kept it clean and answered all our questions. The only issue I had was road noise and the proximity to the road. We have small kids and it was a worry. I know being in that canyon there are only so many places to build the campground. So be aware

Yelp
Great campground. Some sites RIGHT next to highway, but traffic is almost non-existent at night. We stayed a week, and had a great stay. Spring water next to campground. Campground host very nice. Very quiet, no radios or amplified sound allowed. We stayed until almost the end of season, mid-November. Campground almost empty when we left, but bet it fills completely all summer. You can reserve some sites online. Only downers were the smelly bathrooms and location next to highway. Truly, highway traffic did not bother us, and we were upwind of bathrooms. Would stay here again.

Cassandra S.

Yelp
It was okay. We were site 29 and it was just ugh. The bathroom was terrible. They pumped all the bathrooms except ours apparently. The smell was sickening. It's right off the highway so you hear the cars all night. Also the RVs and the tent camping are sporadic throughout the campground, so we heard generators throughout the day and night. The generate hours are insane, so if your in an RV it's great. If you are tent camping like us, you will be possibly listening to generators from 6am-10pm. Also it was loud, quiet hours are mostly enforced. Our last night was just ridiculous, we heard people screaming and dogs barking all night. There also aren't flushing toilets, so we would have been expecting the bathrooms to be pumped more often. Our trip was 3 days here, and we were glad to be out in AZ and exploring. If you are in an RV and far from the bathrooms, it'll be great. The creek was refreshing and the hosts were friendly.

Yelp
Best spots are available if you reserve ahead of time. We were not able to reserve ahead but we're able to get a good spot (walk in) over the weekend. Absolutely clean and quiet. Also great if you plan on hiking trails near by. We were able to leave early in the morning and missed all the crowds and parking fiasco. We definitely recommend this. Come prepared, relax, drink a beer and lay on your hamic after a long hike. Nothing beats nature.

Amanda D.

Yelp
If you have children, or dogs, or birthdays, if you enjoy laughter and camaraderie, appreciate the importance of family, if you believe in human kindness, value community, have trust in our ability as a society to overcome obstacles and embrace our differences, or even if you are just desperately clinging to the hope that there is still some good in the world- this campground is not for you. The bathrooms were well maintained.

Kay F.

Yelp
This is such a beautiful campground. It's very quiet and there's a scream running right along the campsites. The Ranger that checked us in was very friendly. Such a nice day here!

Julie L.

Yelp
We originally tried to go to Manzanita, yet they were full. I'm so happy it was so we could find this fabulous site! Camp Host Lt. Dan and Fidget made our stay perfect! Super clean lots of trails plenty of trails to hike. Best time to come is during the week. We were by ourselves most of the week! Can't wait to return next month to see Dan and Gidget!

Kyle K.

Yelp
One of the camp hosts here (her name is Connie) is very professional and by the book. Also, this place has the cleanest facilities and is the most well-maintained I have ever seen compared to any other campgrounds so far.

Brandon M.

Yelp
Went up to Sedona for memorial weekend and hoping to find a spot. Stumbled upon this campground and it's the best thing that could have happened during the trip! The camp host, Mary and Larry were absolutely amazing and honestly the reason why this trip was able to be made. The area was clean and sanitized before we were able to unload which was a plus. Definitely the spot now! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Camped here this weekend for 1 night (about 5 minutes away from Slide Rock SP which was our destination). We reserved Site #26, and was very pleased: Nice layout and really good tent pad, flat and no rocks, and easy to stake down. We had a seperate grill and a fire pit with grill, but it rained this weekend to sadly we just could not get a campfire started, nor did our neighbors. Our site was a 'waterfront' location, but really its just a little creek, and too steep for my little kids to climb down too. We were disappointed that fishing was not really possible there, the website boast fishing, but in fact the water access is not easily accessible :( The bathrooms were okay, it not the flushable ones, and I sure was not used to having the air vent gushing at my bottom as I was using the toilet! Didnt like that at all! lol). Overall, the backdrop of the campsite is awesome, beautiful mountains and tall trees. The highway is close, but was not bothersome at all. The camping atmosphere was nice, our neighbors were like us, family with little kids, so we felt 'safe' and comfortable!... and that was the main thing :)

Garrett M.

Yelp
Spent 4 nights. Stayed in #24, nice spot, great views. Camp host Lydia Arnold was very mica and helpful. I saw her clean a campsite very throughly including scrubbing the table. My only gripe is the extra charge for a second vehicle.

Linda M.

Yelp
Connie and her spouse were very caring and professional and kept the place sparkling clean. Space no 4 private and away from road. Don't camp next to smelly restrooms! Check out Butterfly Inn close by for coffee and breakfast/lunch options. Good chai teA.

Stefanie P.

Yelp
Amazing place for a family with small kiddos! So much to explore and very family friendly. The camp host are so helpful and keep everything spotless! They make this place great!

Phil M.

Yelp
This place was one of the first campgrounds we ran into that had availability on a spur-of-the-moment trip to Sedona. It is fairly priced, well-maintained and they offer firewood for sale. The personnel are friendly and attentive while the area is pet-friendly. The sites had grilles, gravel parking spots, benches, and firepits with large dirt spaces big enough for one ten person tent and maybe a few small ones. We didn't receive any or have any complaints, but I wish that they "technically" allowed audio. Let's just say if people were to play music on speakers at a decent volume you should be fine.

Asia H.

Yelp
This campground was great! The down the road at Cave Spring was totally shady, the state park website says check in/check out of the campsites is at 1 pm and we arrived at 12:58 to get in line. Turns out they keep a WAITING LIST going since 6 am in the morning on their first come-first serve sites which is totally ridiculous. So we ended up driving up the road to Pine Flat and sure enough, we were able to get a site the RIGHT way. First come first serve sites are a bit closer to the road than I would've liked. But the restrooms were immaculate, the staff was so nice and friendly, and the stream is right there across the road. I would absolutely return and try out the reservable sites because those looked really nice and a bit farther off the highway. Don't waste your time at those other ones, go where you will be treated fairly at Pine Flat!

Nathan P.

Yelp
I called this place home for a few days and loved it. Super nice camp hosts. Set in against a high mountainside that gave us an amazing view. Creek was on one side of us. One of few places around that you can have a campfire due to it being in national forest service land. They do sell firewood and ice on site as well if you happen to run out. Would definitely try and stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Adrian F.

Yelp
We camped here for three nights and it was a pleasure to stay. The campsite host were very friendly and our campsite was very clean. The restrooms are the kind that has a toilet and it all goes into a big tank down there. Surprisingly it did not smell at all, which is something I have experience with similar facilities. There are no showers. There is a faucet for drinking water. You must carry a bucket of water to your site in order to wash dishes. Site has a grill and a fire pit. There is ice and firewood for sell at the site. It was very windy one of the days we stayed thus there was a fire restriction until 7 pm on the fire pit, but no restriction using the grill. We went June of 2017, the creek that flows through the back of the campsite was rather small as there had not been any recent rainfall in a while (best spot we found was 2 ft deep 5 ft wide - better spots down the road ~15 min drive). Note: The campground is located near a small highway that has light traffic. When it is not windy, you can hear the cars going by.

Jason G.

Yelp
I was very pleased with the campground. The sites were clean, the bathrooms were nice and didn't smell. The campground were spaced just far enough apart so you infringe on others sites. It is close to the road (89A) but I didn't have any problem with car noise. I would highly recommend this site if you are coming up.

Aide M.

Yelp
Camped here in May 2016. The campground is very clean and well maintained. Our camp host Keith was very kind and courteous. Even though the campground is right next to the highway the road noise was no problem. The campground has vault toilets but they are extremely clean had hardly no smell. There are no showers at this campground but a mile away at Cave Springs Campground there are showers that can be used for $4 for 8 minutes. Showers are also very clean. Cave Springs Campground also has a small convenience store. Both campgrounds sell ice and firewood.

Alexis P.

Yelp
The camp host is an incredible rude man, he was gone when we got to the camp so we waited at a spot for him, when he arrived, he kicked us out even though we asked to rent the spots for the night and day, he didnt care, said he would call the sherrif, started filming us and started yelling and cursing not only at us but at another family nearby,we felt totally abused and embarrased, we were not acting or doing anything wrong to be treated as criminals, he saw our dog and tried to kick him so we would leave, i managed to pull him away. Not a way of treating customers, will report this to his bosses because i highly doubt he is the boss.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Just came home from a fabulous camping vacation. I must say the campground host are absolutely amazing, the most friendly couple I have ever met and was so accommodating. Thank you to Jan and Kerry (the camp ground host) for contributing to a fabulous camping experience! Ps must check out the natural spring water by site 19! The water was so delicious and crisp!

Gatsby's G.

Yelp
I camped here over Easter break with my husband and stepson. We decided to camp at site # 19, and the park ranger was friendly and helpful. There was quite a bit of road noise-- we never frogot that the highway was nearby. What was really annoying, though, were all the visitors parking near our campsite to take advantage of the spring water that trickled out of a pipe. There was a steady stream of cars stopping and idling for 10 or 15 minutes to get this water. Even a BIG RIG!! At one point, two SUV loads of stoner kids pulled over for about half an hour, blairing death-metal. It wasn't a very relaxing night until 1am or so. The only reason I gave this campground 3 stars was because my husband, the griller in the family, was ecstatic over the two quality grills provided to us. Also, the bathrooms were clean.

Adam B.

Yelp
Can get crowded. But higher for better temps. He spring is a bonus. Not for the hard core campers. But a fun lazy car camping trip instead.

Maria D.

Yelp
I am sure there are better campgrounds around, but we didn't have reservations and were VERY happy to have found this nice place to stay. There is a creek/wooded area that the kids can explore right from the campground. Location decent for visiting Sedona and Flagstaff area attractions. If you walk to the north end of the campground you can access cold, fresh mountain stream water. SO GOOD! Locals would stop and fill up all of their water cooler containers. Pit toilets and facility was VERY well maintained with camping box/pads for tent. Young camp hosts did the bare minimum as far as interacting with campers. We had a walk up site that backed up to the canyon wall. Didn't notice the road noise at all.

Nick C.

Yelp
This campground was a little less than what we were expecting based on the reviews we read. We did get a "riverfront" campsite but it was a little more than a trickle and it was pretty overgrown. There was also a good amount of highway noise as you are down in a canyon with the highway. On the upside the bathrooms were clean and the camp host had firewood for sale.

Diane K.

Yelp
Next to highway, not really my idea of camping. Host was friendly and helpful. Nice pit stop after a long day of driving. Road noise was not a problem at night.

Flerida D.

Yelp
We always go camping to have fun and to have a family bonding this camp ground is nice but with so many restrictions and we had this issue on our first night we're playing games at 9:15 pm this guy who in uncharged yield at us from a distance saying we're so loud to give consideration to other campers he didn't even came to us he just yelled at us but then we stop even we knew that quite time is at ten and went to bed but we can here the other campers making so much noise until 10:45 and we can't sleep the next morning this couple came asking for mrs Soriano my cousins wife cause it's under her name he said he was the one who came last night he said we're not ff the rules cause his wife can still hear us till 10:45 we were all there cause we're having breakfast so everyone reacted and said we went to bed after you yelled at us without getting our side he just drove off he didn't even listen he just say whatever he wants to say and left he's very rude So my cousin Mr Soriano & his wife went to explain Dave the other care taker was very nice but that guy which we didn't even get his name cause he never introduced himself is such a prejudice after my cousin told them that it's not really us he didn't didn't even come to apologize we just hope that the management will correct that also the restroom should have a sink to wash your hands we follow rules but we're still got to be blame so with so many restrictions & rudeness of that guy we will never go back again

Jenny H.

Yelp
First, let me say that this campground is very well kept and the hosts are extremely kind. It is with walking/short driving distance of many great hiking areas. Unfortunately, as far as tent camping goes it was miserable. This campground is literally located right next to Hwy 89, which means you get all the nose and light from traffic all night. It is very loud and constant. We actually packed up our tent in the middle of the night and left because we realized we weren't going to get any sleep. If you are camping in a small camper/pop up, this is probably a much better experience.

Tracy A.

Yelp
what a beautiful setting. creek was flowing but not to deep to worry about the kids playing near it. fresh spring water for free. stayed in an rv (rd noise didnt really bother us),for memorial weekend and got the last spot next to the toilets. probably loose half a star for that but at least we got in without a reservation. camp hosts were wonderful and happy to accomodate. they keep the place very clean, toilets are cleaned twice daily and dont smell at all. best drop toilet ive sat on in awhile. fire pit and hooded wood fire bbq provided.our 2 night stay turned in to 4.
