The boyfriend and I cycled over 30 miles from Fayetteville to Southern Pines and were about dead by the time we arrived. Or, I was dead; boyfriend just had a sore butt from cycling (the genius I am I had cycling shorts and a bike seat, but alas no stamina). We were so happy to be at Pine Needles Lodge - the place was adorable. We had a huge balcony, 1.5 bathrooms, shampoo, conditioner and lotion that smelled amazing, two beds, and the cushiest bedsheets and pillows. The bath was a godsend.
We had dinner at the cozy restaurant bar downstairs (In the rough lounge) and sat in the corner overlooking the rest of the patrons. The only thing I remember getting is the mac and cheese and the fried pickles then I was full. Boyfriend was indulging in other foods and drinks. It was good food, but nothing especially stood out that I absolutely needed to come back for.
Brunch was also in the main lodge, just past the restaurant bar (crest dining room). It was $12.95 a person and just fantastic. I drank so much juice, and went back to the breakfast buffet many times for muffins. There was an omelette bar, a cereal bar, granola bar, and was otherwise very fancy and cute.
I'd love to be back!
