Had such a fantastic experience here on Saturday! It was my birthday dinner, and our server was so kind and made sure he wished me a happy birthday at least three times (and even wrote it on our check!) which was so sweet. One of my friends has a gluten allergy and he was very accommodating and made sure to point out any of the dishes that could be made gluten free. All in all, it was a lovely experience. Now onto the food! I got the linguine with pesto and chicken and it was FANTASTIC. GF friend also got it with the GF penne instead of linguine and gave it two thumbs up. The bread was also excellent, and everyone really enjoyed their food. For dessert, I got a cannoli which came out with a birthday candle in it which was an unexpected delight. Definitely will be coming back!

This is some of the best Italian food we’ve ever had! Everything was so delicious! You can really tell that they use incredibly fresh ingredients when preparing all of the dishes. It really adds to the authentic Italian flavor. In addition, the service is amazing! Our waiter Zeke was so friendly and attentive! We are so lucky that we came at the perfect time to get a table, but we would recommend getting a reservation on busy days.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The pasta and ravioli were truly delicious—fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the atmosphere and service; we genuinely felt like we were at home. Warm, welcoming, and authentic. A place we’ll definitely come back to and recommend without hesitation.

Had an absolutely great experience here. Daughter and I visiting from FL, and we're lucky enough to find this place. Waiter was awesome and very helpful. Whoever was in the kitchen, outstanding job! One of the highlights of our three day trip!

Eight people for dinner on a Saturday night - hadn't been there before, so I was guessing when I made the reservation. Walking in made me realize it was a great choice - the aroma was fabulous!! Staff was warm & hospitable. Food was superb - of the 8 of us, no one had anything other than kudos. And loved the atmosphere - small, warm, comfortable. We'll be back for sure.

Found this place on my last day of my trip. It had great reviews and did not disappoint. The service was wonderful and the value at lunch was unbeatable. Regulars frequent it but if you’re in the area, I am sure this local place could use your support.

These guys are SKIMPY!! This was our 12-inch pizza. We ordered it with three toppings, 1) Beef Sausage, 2) Mushrooms, and 3) Fresh Parsley. It tasted fine; a bit like a better frozen pie. But we were upset by how little toppings we got. We counted six(6) bits of sausage. And a shockingly small sprinkling of mushrooms. Toppings were pricy at $2.50 each. So …just being real… we’re never coming back.

My wife and I had a great experience here for dinner tonight . We came in here the previous night to check out their menu and decided to come here for dinner. Shaw did an awesome job in explaining the happy hour menu ~ both the food offerings and drinks . My wife ordered the lasagna and blue coco drink while I went with the meatball & eggplant with linguine with a godfather drink. The food came out hot and very tasty & the drinks came out strong . I highly recommend this restaurant . We are planning on coming back for dinner tomorrow night as well. p.s., we had a 2nd round of drinks ~ she had a grandfather cocktail and I had the green tea cocktail. Another strong round of drinks. You will love this place...

I am a pasta lover and I am always ready to give a new place a try. After work I walked over a mile to get to this place and I am happy I did. The place is a small family restaurant and it's charming. The waiter met me at the door and began a small conversation as he walked me to my table. He came back and asked if I had been there before? I said no and he introduced himself and said his mom is the cook and owner. He was very proud of his family history. Very cool and polite. I ordered the spaghetti and meat ball's, coconut drink, and dessert. The spaghetti was made fresh and the meat balls were so tasty. B grade spaghetti and A+ on meatballs! The coconut drink was refreshing. B grade. The pistachio cake was flavorful and the design on the cake was cool. A grade The kindness of the waiter, family story, pride in what he does, and those meatballs will definitely bring me back. When I go back meatball sub all the way. Try this place it's solid.

not fresh vegetable the cream used for pasta is not delicious either Pizza doesn't feel like it's baked, maybe it is, but it's ordinary

A cozy family dinner spot! Good food, huge portions. I walked in with less than an hour before close because I was craving Italian after a long work event and everywhere else was closed - they were very friendly and welcoming. I was served immediately and ordered within 2 minutes of sitting down, food came out super fast. Amazing prices given the portions and quality. Everything tasted great and I left full and happy.

Eh. Not really sure what the other reviews are raving about. It was just okay, the service was a little slow, prices too high for the effort put in, and food tasted good but again, you can see and taste the lack in effort. Nice people though, and good if you simply just need a meal. (also the inside is not aesthetically pleasing if that matters to you)

For our last night in DC, we wanted to eat somewhere with a chill atmosphere. This place was right next to our hotel and it turned out to be very good. The price of everything there was very reasonable and relatively authentic. The service was extremely nice and felt well taken care of!

I had it eaten at one of the earlier versions in Arlington and found it here in the city and we had an anniversary dinner. The brenzino was fantastic. The appetizers were great along with Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. They treated us wonderfully and I highly recommend this place

Food is amazing and the service is incredible! I ordered the mushrooms as an appetizer, a pasta, and tiramisu for dessert. The mushrooms and pasta were so delicious that I was already full before my dessert even arrived. I asked to cancel the tiramisu, but the very kind server, Zee, still brought it to me for free. I really appreciate his kindness--it made my night! I had such a wonderful dining experience here.

This was my second visit to this cozy, family-owned spot in DuPont Circle--and once again, it didn't disappoint. The homemade Italian dishes were solid all around. I had the Bronzino, pizza, and seafood pasta in white sauce--everything was fresh and well-prepared. Portions are generous, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Shaw provided friendly, attentive service that really added to the experience. Definitely recommend if you're in the mood for a good Italian meal in the area.

Small family oriented Italian cuisine. Ordered the Caesar salad very tastie. The veal Francés was also tender delicious and very flavorful. Our first time and would return to get the veal frances again. Also if you haven't tried their frozen lemon mint lemonaid, wow very good especially on a hot day. Service is good and friendly.

The veal parm was way over cooked. I've had chicken fried steak that was more tender. The service was great and it was a quaint family restaurant. Very disappointed in the food

Well...nice people. That's about it. They had f a large table (15 pp) that they were really struggling to service. Service very slow, waited a long time just to order. Again, server extremely nice and polite. I think these are new owners. Calamari appetizer was fine. Food below average. Eggplant parm very mushy and accompanying pasta cold. Veal Piccata very tough and had a strange taste. Were hoping for a nice neighborhood place with great food....this isn't it, at least not tonight. Waited over 30 minutes (and counting...) for bill. Also...atmosphere was very bright and loud...a real strip mall feel in the heart of DC. Good luck guys I hope you can get it together

The decor is dated but the food is pretty good. My friend has a grilled fresh fish which was very nice, I had veal Marsala which was tasty but a bit over sauced.

The Linguini w/Meatballs was ok, the meatballs were huge, superdense and the sauce flavor was ok. The Mozzarella Caprese was very good, super fresh mozzarella. I would definitely order the caprese again.

The food was excellent as was the service. The portions were good and the happy hour prices can't be beat.

Lobster ravioli! I have always had problems with restaurants who serve this because they don't put enough lobster in it. Boy I was slapped by this dish I cut into it and all I saw was lobster! Now every time I go to DC all I want is the lobster ravioli. Service was amazing! Ambiance, there are very few Italian performs that I know and Andrea Bocelli is one of the top 2. Listening yo him even through a tv is still bone chilling.

This small family owned business is a hidden gem. Hard to notice on a busy one way road with traffic "aka" M Street, but you will be treated well in this casual setting if you step foot inside. The service is welcoming and the food is hearty and well priced. From pastas to pizzas that meet all dietary needs, this place never fails. Portions are just right for you to enjoy a variety of dishes. Seafood Linguine, Branzino, and Pepperoni Pizza with olives/peppers. It felt like a homemade meal and are always welcomed back.

Came back for lunch at one of my favorite places. The staff and s always extremely friendly without being intrusive. I had the Chickens Sandwich which is very good. Overall, a great experience.

Went here while visiting DC. Food was great. Ambiance was good. Our server was nice and suggested perfect dishes based on each of our taste and appetite. There was only one server, so when the place started packing up. There was a slight delay in when he got back to us. My advice, go early! Food was great

Stopped here because of the happy hour deals and the food did NOT disappoint! The service was amazing -- our waiter was very attentive and helpful when deciding what to order. Everything is very well priced and the drinks were great.

The dishes took a long time (1 hour+) but I'm pretty sure it's as there was a large group 10+ people who ordered ahead of us and we were already a group of 6. The food was delicious but the portions were on the smaller size especially for the wait. The Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and flavorful (which can be hard for some restaurants). The Zupa de Pesce was an average dish but the seafood wasn't prepared as well. We went in a group of 6, and this is a VERY quiet, small, cozy restaurant. It is a family owned business as well! But this is where our experience was different, I believe our group was louder and lively (hence why I would emphasize that this is a quieter and more intimidate setting). When we initially came in, we were seated immediately with 4/6 of us present however a waitress was asking us if we would move a booth that seats 4. But when we stated we were a party of 6, the waitress didn't seem too happy. Anyways, we ordered and again it took around an hour, but I observed that the waitress was going around asking how everyone's meals were to every table but ours. She also kept glaring at us and giving us bad looks when we were seated by another waiter and did not know about the prior reservation... I understand that this was out of my control but it kind of left a bad impression on my experience.

Came here for dinner based on the reviews and it was NOT a disappointment. I had the meat lasagna and he had the chicken parmigiana. Both were absolutely delicious!! We ordered the cheesecake and Tiramisu for dessert. The cheesecake was OK but the Tiramisu was really really good! I would definitely recommend this place for a good Italian option.

Very disappointed in the order from here that was delivered. Eggplant Parm. was lackluster in taste. Muzz. sticks were basically raw and had to be baked ~10 min to be edible. Won't be ordering from here again.

Everything else except the pizza was great which is ironic considering it's an Italian restaurant. They literally served us frozen pizza, one of those you buy in the frozen section of the grocery store and heat up in the oven. I was really pissed off considering the guy swore that chef " just made it" which makes me wonder if I really look like a moron and can't tell the difference between frozen pizza and the one that's properly cooked, otherwise everything else was great.

This place really is a hidden gem and has become a regular spot for me and my husband. Shah is usually who's front of the house and he's so hospitable and accommodating. Delicious food and very reasonable prices for this area!

Despite being understaffed the servers tried their best to be attentive to our table requests... the food was homemade and tasty .. definitely I will return !

Not bad - just not memorable. The restaurant itself needs some polishing and upgrading. Too many things on the menu. Would be better to have a few signature dishes that really shine.

Was in DC for a conference. I just wanted some comfort food. I found this place on Yelp. Wow! This place isn't pretty, but it reminds me of my childhood in New York. The service was impressive. AND the food was delicious . I had the lasagna, which most of the time I'm disappointed. It was served in the traditional baking dish. And I had to force myself to stop eating it! At the table, you get toasted Italian bread. Next time I'm in DC, I am going back!

The food was excellent and so was the service. I'm Jersey boy, born and bred, so I know a good Italian restaurant when I see one. And this is a good Italian restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful too. They had Italian opera music playing quietly in the background when I walked in, but not in a too-fancy sort of way. It has a very chill sort of vibe, the kind of place that you feel right at home regardless of whether you're wearing a tie or a t-shirt. 10/10

I'm sorry but idk how this place has 4+ stars. If you like Carrabbas or Bone Fish you will not like this place and if you're Italian... you're going to HATE it! Bread is dry flavorless brick, red sauces are canned tomato sauce, fettuccini sauces tastes like movie theater butter popcorn without the salt. Service was excusable because it was a very busy weekend, but there is nothing authentic about this place and the only impressive thing about this place are the false advertising photos. Save your money and time, eat somewhere.

So we were very hungry and getting to a late dinner. This place was a great find. The food was awesome. My wife lost half her chicken Piccatta to our picky eater child. Out child also ate her own pasta and tried my gnocchi. Overall the food was very good. Service was excellent and we had a great time.

I am writing this review even though I don't want people to know about their happy hour because I am afraid I won't be able to get in! All pizzas and pastas are 50% off during happy hour and thel beers and house wines are $5. I ordered a chicken carbonara. It was delicious and enough to take home. I'm glad I found out about this place.

An unassuming gem. Don't let the facade fool you - this restaurant hits the trifecta. Most importantly, the food was fresh Italian (with large portions). We had calamari, veggie lasagna and eggplant Parmesan. You can tell when food is fresh -- and it is. Prices are very reasonable ($18) and each member of the staff who we met was genuinely nice. When I come back to DC, I will make a point of returning.

Just came back from a quick lunch at Pines of Florence. I was the only customer in there as they had just opened, but I was quickly greeted by staff in a friendly manner. The menu is simple and as traditional as Italian American restaurants get. Complimentary bread, oil, vinegar and butter to start off the meal. The prices for everything were exceptionally reasonable given the downtown location. I believe Nothing was more than high $20s. I ended up getting shrimp and scallop in a garlic butter herb sauce over linguine as well as a side of garlic bread. Everything was pretty good! And the staff was attentive and friendly! If you work downtown near K Street I highly recommend going here for a nice little lunch!

The menu was incorrect. The bartender/manager was rude. When I suggested that the restaurant hire someone to ensure that the online menu was correct, I was informed that they weren't equipped for that. I hate to make anything about race, but I feel that they would have taken my complaint more seriously if I weren't black.

Food and service were exceptional. Only 4 stars for ambiance. Definitely needs an update. Large, delicious portions.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner ordered the seafood linguini which was very flavorsome. The tiramisu was very authentic and yummy ! Service was terrific, highly recommend!

Surprised to see Pines of Florence opened new location in DC. Had to try it. Ordered chicken cacciatore with a pinot grigio and cannelloni with coffee for dessert. Portions were huge. I had a second meal the next day with the leftovers. Service could not have been better. Our waiter was attentive, the coffee cups, wine and water glasses were never empty. The restaurant had a feel of old world Italy. Nice music, great coffee, food, and wine reasonably priced. The restaurant has been open 2 months.

SO VERY HAPPY to finally find a decent pizza in Dupont! The Margherita is delizioso! It's hard to find a vegetarian dish that doesn't rely on overwhelming heat or spice, but the Pines of Florence Vegetable Primavera is loaded with so many assorted vegetables; it's simply perfect. Thank you for coming to Dupont! We wish you much success! Lucky us; living just a few blocks away means we can enjoy your food on a regular basis :) .
