Pine 🌲 park is indescribable beautiful place. It’s located 4 minutes by car from the 405 highway 🛣️ at Dana Pointe. Although the park has many pinches, it’s more convenient to bring your own chairs for more setting choices. Parking is free along the adjacent street.

Google
On a peaceful Sunday afternoon, we visited Capistrano Beach, where I enjoyed a relaxing walk to Palisades Gazebo Park and Pines Park. Pines Park is a small park on a hill where people like to relax and enjoy the ocean view. A quiet, scenic spot—well worth the stop.

Google
I spotted this park one Monday morning while driving to school and thought, “I should visit this place.” The following Saturday, I brought my family here, and they absolutely loved it. It’s a charming little park that seems to cater to the nearby residents, but visitors are welcome too! Parking is convenient, with spaces easily found near the curb. The park offers a beautiful view of the beach and has a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing day out. There's also a playground right next to it, which makes it a great spot for families. We had a wonderful time, and it’s definitely a place worth revisiting!

Google
What a wonderful space. If you are in the area, stop by and read a book, let your kids play or just enjoy the cool ocean breeze.

Google
The most stunning park! We used it for our rehearsal and it was so perfect! Plenty of parking. Gorgeous ocean views

Google
It was nice and relaxing. A great place to have lunch if you work nearby. If your planning a picnic also a great place.

Google
i generally enjoyed this park as it seemed it is cut or in two separate sections. it has one side with a playground and more of a grassy area for kids to play and run around in. the other part that i liked more was flat with benches and over looking the ocean. although, i will be honest with the review being 2 stars because it could be a lot better in a lot of ways but i know there was a section under construction. there was a fence which was broken which could be dangerous and there is also a huge dirt patch with "no trespassing" signs posted all around which i feel they should implement or add to the park but if it's not possible then they should put bushes or something in front of the fencing for a better scenic view of the ocean. there is also not a designated parking lot so some of the people living there will watch you while you park and walk over to the park across the street.

A peaceful park over looking the ocean nestled in the neighborhood where I captured Estrella and Jonas intimate ceremony.

Yelp
No restrooms. I've recently learned that parks with no restrooms and/or no dedicated parking are very much a thing in south OC. I don't understand it, but at least I know.

Yelp
Pros: Cute clean park with amazing views. Playground is on the smaller side but great for little ones. There are some nice open fields on the lower side and the upper side with nice ocean breeze. The Dana Point Trolley has a stop across from here. Someone mentioned bathrooms but to clarify, it's a small neighborhood park and there are no bathrooms here. Cons: It's been getting pretty crowded and there seems to often be a wedding happening on the weekends. Also watch your little ones because there are some cliff sides with no fencing.

Yelp
An excellent park located right along and in front of Capistrano Beach. The park is separated from the beach by the Coast Highway thus access may be a little challenging. This park is a little hidden but offers a secluded view and access.

Yelp
I love this neighborhood park that overlooks the beautiful ocean and always meet the cutest dogs here. Today I met a 9 week old Australian healer puppy and I'm obsessed!!

Yelp
Took the kids to Pines Park in Dana Point, and it's officially made the "Mom Willingly Returns" list. Vibe & Atmosphere: Peaceful, clean, and shady--aka perfect for moms trying to sneak in a little calm while the kids burn off energy. The view of the ocean is stunning, and there's something about that sea breeze that just instantly takes the edge off parenting chaos. Playground: There's a solid play area with equipment that works for both little ones and older kids. It's not overly big, so I could keep eyes on all four without feeling like a security guard at a concert. Space to Roam: Huge grassy areas, which meant soccer balls came out, tag happened, and no one got hurt. Bonus: lots of trees = built-in shade for tired moms (and kids who dramatically "can't run anymore"). Picnic-Friendly: We brought lunch, and there were plenty of benches and picnic tables. Some families even had little setups with blankets. Definitely an ideal spot for a picnic or birthday party. Bathrooms: Yes, there are bathrooms. No, they aren't terrifying. That's a win. Parking: Street parking only, but we found a spot pretty easily. Just be ready to walk a little if it's busy. Would I go back? Already planning it. It's the kind of park that doesn't feel like a chaotic kid zone--but still keeps the kids entertained. Plus, the ocean view makes it feel like a mini-vacation for mom.

Yelp
Absolutely love this park, my son enjoys it a lot more lol. Beautiful view, plenty of parking. One downside is no bathrooms for toddlers or the kiddos. Let's hope the bathrooms come early. Also they have so many squirts that will eat your food from your bags lol
google avatar

Kassandra H.

Yelp
This is a beautiful neighborhood park. It has walking paths and incredible views of the ocean and the coastline. There is a large kid area with things to play on and tables to have birthday parties. We have had many here and always have enjoyed Pines Park.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! We came here during our lunch break and it was so therapeutic. The sound of the waves and the views are unbeatable! There's also a good amount of benches so you can sit and enjoy the view. I will definitely be coming back on my lunch breaks more often!

Yelp
Dana Point, CA I have been wanting to visit this spot for a while now and I am so glad we visited the park today. Pines Park is a beautiful park with mature trees located on a hill in a nice residential neighborhood in Dana Point with an outstanding view of the Pacific Ocean. There is a short paved smooth white concrete walking trail, plenty of concrete benches to sit and enjoy the stunning view, a dog park, children's play ground and lots of grassy area to picnic. The park runs long, along the cliff, with the grassy area in the middle, dog park on one side, playground on the other. Parking is free and street parking. We stopped to have a picnic lunch but our lunch on the bench got cut short because there was a pesky fly and a yellow jacket trying to attack our lunch and I was not in the mood for a fight since I am highly allergic to stings...we finished our lunch in the car but still enjoyed the view. Next time will opt to eat before coming here.

Yelp
A peaceful place to bring lunch and enjoy the picturesque views. I was only here for 25min for pics. Will explore further when I have more time. Likes: - Amazing views - Grassy area - Lots of trees for shade - Plenty of street parking - Benches throughout the park - BBQ pits (4) with picnic tables - Squirrels - Climbing wall - Play ground/structure for children Note: No restrooms

Yelp
Beautiful park overlooking the ocean! Spacious area and ideal for folks who love to picnic like I do! Not much foot traffic which I appreciate. Picked up some Pizza Port about 8 minutes away and came here to enjoy my lunch. Delicious food with a spectacular view!!!

Yelp
Beautiful intimate park with ocean view looking out over a cliff!! Great spot to picnic!

Yelp
Hi. We by chance found this park "Pines Park". This park "Pines Park" has a perfect Adventure playground. Pines park has incredible view to ocean. We recommend you this place Professionals recognize that the social skills that children develop on the playground often become lifelong skill sets that are carried forward into their adulthood. Independent research concludes that playgrounds are among the most important environments for children outside the home. Most forms of play are essential for healthy development, but free, spontaneous play--the kind that occurs on playgrounds--is the most beneficial type of play.

Ron B.

Yelp
I love everything about this park...the ocean view Is amazing! However, I've encountered a group of kids on their e-bikes, twice now, who hang out right near the benches with the best views. They were loud and vulgar. Kinda spoiled the experience. I think I heard the F word about 300 times. Had to leave after 20 min.

Salma H.

Yelp
one of my favorite parks for a scenic view looking over the ocean, just beautiful!! it is a smaller park with benches & a cute grass area for picnics, reading a book, having lunch, or painting et..however there is a larger park right next to it that has picnic tables and a kids playground, as well as a larger grass area! i highly recommend giving this park a visit! you will also most likely find some wildlife friends aka squirrels lol :)!

Yelp
Great little neighborhood park, but it is very tiny. You can't go running around this park to do a cardio work out, because you'll do a full circle in about 3 minutes or so. Maybe for smaller kids, this would be an okay place. They have a small playground, but the playground doesn't have the view of the ocean. It's street parking only. It could be chaotic on the weekends so I have never tried to come here on weekends or holidays. However, the view is nice even though the road is right by the ocean and the train may pass by from time to time. Even the parking lot and basketball court right by it doesn't ruin the bright blue sky and the sound of the ocean. May be nice for a quiet time or a picnic. Lots of squirrels sunbathing out during warm days by the benches. Occasionally, someone would be out feeding them (which by the way, is discouraged according to the signs around there). The squirrels seem to be familiar with people and approach to take whatever it is that's being offered to them. Many locals walk their dogs through here too. Clean park in a nice neighborhood.

Yelp
Cute little park with an amazing view, picnic benches, and HUGE BBQ pits. My kids had a blast!

Yelp
Beautiful park in capo beach area. Love taking our kids and picnicking here while watching the sunset

Yelp
I had first heard of this park when looking for ocean view wedding venues. It is gorgeous in photos and is so affordable I thought very seriously about getting married here but the full DIY aspect and parking situation swayed me back to my yacht dreams. Anyway, my brother's family lives in Dana Point so when we caught wind of the city sponsoring an easter egg hunt for the kiddies, we were all in! We brought my niece (7 months) and nephew (5yo) up one sunny Saturday and got excited for the festivities. My sister in law used to live in the surrounding neighborhood so she knew the parking situation well and (smartly) brought the stroller. Parking is likely not as big of an issue on an average day but when events are held here, expect to walk. The park is long but narrow grass shaded by big trees and on a cliff with an ocean view. Just beautiful for a wedding but definitely not as private as some might like. For the easter egg hunt, they sectioned off a portion with tape and threw literally 100s of pounds of candy in the middle. There was a PA system announcing what age group was to be released next followed by a countdown and then a kids-only mad dash into the middle. It was chaotic and a few children got lost (thank God for the PA system) but it was altogether great to level the playing field by arranging the kids into age groups. I wish it was more of a hunt but kids are young so it makes sense. There was also a petting zoo and lots of photo ops with both the beautiful view and with the costumed Easter bunny! After the hunt and petting zoo, we headed over to the far right side where there was actually a playground set, picnic table and trash cans so you could have a nice little gathering here... but there are no bathrooms, there are trees and bushes, but no bathrooms. My sister in law said when she was younger they used to walk down to the beach via a path that is now gated up... bummer because that would have been a great plus! Anyway, I thought the view was gorgeous (would totally come back for a family photo shoot or similar) and I applaud the city of Dana Point for their easter celebration.

Yelp
This park has stellar views of the sky, trees, beach side homes, the coast line and the ocean. We skedaddled about the concrete, dirt and grass trails of this park, finding much relief and tranquility in it's views. There is a playground for children that have a few benches surrounding it, which seem fitting for picnics or small celebrations. And when you walk further up the sidewalk from this area, there are memorialized benches scattered on top of the botanical cliffside. You will also find a few paths leading to lower elevated fields. You can park on side streets in residential areas surrounding the park. No restrooms, so this is a drag, considering I obsessively drink plenty of fluids. Overlooking sandy landscapes, palm trees, green hills, railroad tracks, Pacific Coast Highway, water and waves; Pines Park is a small piece of perfection where you can do some reflection, fitness, reading, writing, bonding, doodling or gazing. Love coming here.

Yelp
Amazing park with a little something for everyone. If you're looking for a kids playground there is one here. There are four BBQs here with picnic tables for an amazing cook out. Lots of grass for sitting or playing. . no fields or bathrooms though! Parking is free and there is plenty of it. .

Yelp
Beautiful Neighborhood park! Picnic/BBQ/playground, with a ocean view. Great park for squirreling around!

Yelp
I stumbled on this park waiting for a family member to finish at the nearby DMV. It was quiet, with a beautiful view, but it was the squirrels that delighted me no end. So many of them! So fun to watch!

Yelp
I stopped here to eat my lunch and loved how quiet and beautiful it is. How lucky you all are in SJC to enjoy it everyday. Thanks for letting me enjoy it with you.

Yelp
While visiting in the area I decided to take a walk. Pines Park is a great location to visit if you are in the area. It has a beautiful ocean view and has a number of places to sit and enjoy the beautiful California weather. Plan to spend some time because you will not want to leave.

Yelp
LOCATION: This is a great park. Beautiful location and view. It overlooks the beach in Capistrano Beach. It is a great park to take pictures at - prom, family, etc. AMENITIES: There is a playground to the north end of the park that is great for kids. There are also a few BBQ's and picnic benches throughout the park. Benches are throughout the park as well - plenty of ones that just look out into the ocean - beautiful place to sit! This park is not huge, but there is plenty of grass area (no fields). PARKING: There is no parking lot here. You just park on the street. This is a residential neighborhood.

Yelp
Well, it's a really great park, lots of room for the kids to run around in, a great playground as well. Lots of places to sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful views over the ocean. There are no toilet facilities, so it's best to make sure you won't need them. BUT, unfortunately within 1/4 mile or so there are three or four drug & alcohol treatment centers; which means that you have to keep focused constantly on where your children are.

Yelp
Good point on the no bathroom per Tsuni S --but luckily for a short trip you don't even notice. The views and breeze are epic this may not be a place to plan an afternoon around if there's no bathroom but for a 30 chill out it's perfect.
google avatar

Kaytlin K.

Yelp
Beautiful place! Parking isn't too bad either. I've always came here for prom and dance photos. Great place to take your kids and walk around. The only downside is that there's no bathrooms anywhere! So keep that in mind when bringing your kids.

Yelp
Pines Park is a fun place to enjoy the cool breeze and amazing views of the ocean. This spot is a popular place of weddings and parties alike. You can find me at this park walking my dog and enjoying the outdoors. Pines park offers bench seating areas, a windy paved path through the grass, a couple bbqs with picnic tables, and a play ground. Apparently, its also a great place to catch Pokemon, if you're interested. There is only street parking and you can usually find a good spot right where you need to go, it's not too crowded, as people come and go. Also a great spot to catch the sunset or have a picnic. Dogs, kids, and happy faces are seen here!

D S.

Yelp
This is a review for the park as a wedding site. My husband and I hosted our wedding ceremony at Pines Park in July 2016. We decided on a Sunday morning wedding at 9:30 a.m. The timing could not have been more perfect. The views overlooking the ocean were stunning. The natural beauty of the park saved us so much on decorations! The fees for park rentals in Dana Point are some of the best along the coast of the state! I was shocked at how affordable and easy it was to secure our site. While there were people in the park, everyone was respectful of our ceremony and we had no issues. The park was green, clean, and our ceremony was set far enough away from the street to avoid any traffic noise. The timing worked well also; the sun was not in our guests eyes. We couldn't be happier with our choice!

Kristine S.

Yelp
Our go-to location every Fourth of July!! We host a large party and then all walk to the park where we celebrate this wonderful country! Love it!

Yelp
My parents got married here back in the day. So did my cousin actually. We walk through it at least once a week and my parents took me all the time when I as young. I have to admit I miss the old playground equipment. I understand they felt like they needed an upgrade, but I love the classic equipment. There are also picnic tables, and there used to be public use grills, I don't know if they are still there.... I don't pay attention anymore haha. Overall great park with a lot of amazing memories

Yelp
Love pines park! Awesome view. Super chill place to hang out. It's right in my neighborhood. Great place to watch sunset. Always meet nice people
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous park with a stunning view of the ocean. Sunsets there are a favorite for me and my family. They even have a Jungle Gym for the little ones. Would give a five star but sadly they don't have bathrooms! Be warned always use the bathroom before making a visit.

Shannon S.

Yelp
Perfect place for a picnic. Bring some goodies for the squirrels. They will eat right out of your hand.

Paige M.

Yelp
Pines park is the closest park to my house so I have some neighborhood favoritism towards it. I like this park because it has a great play structure but it also has a maze of bushes and pine trees for the kids to run through and make believe. On the top part of the park there are a few trees to climb on and there is an astounding view of the ocean and harbor.
