Pinewood Queenstown

Clean warm rooms, comfortable bed, nice clean white sheets and the cleanest shared bathroom I have ever seen. I was really impressed with the cleanliness. Not normally a fan of shared bathrooms but they were very clean. Nice fresh rolled up hand towels available was a big plus. We stayed in both the basic room which was the cheapest, and the next room up which had the bunk beds plus a double bed. Would recommend the one with the bunk bed (N block) as has less rooms/ people in that block so it’s a bit quieter. The kitchens were well equipped with plenty of space, and also had designated space (by room number) in the fridges. The staff were really lovely and helpful. For Queenstown prices we felt the lodge represents good value for the price. A very good comfortable place to stay for budget conscious travellers.

We are a family of 4. We had the entire apartment D (2 bedrooms and living area) for 2 nights. The check-in was very fast. The parking was fine, but it would be a bit tight if you had a larger car. The accommodation was clean, modern & spacious. (The front door was not closing properly though, but still lockable). It’s only a 5 minute walk to town, and very quiet. The laundry facilities were good. This place is excellent value for money and is highly recommended

This is the best rest stop I’ve stayed at so far. There’s free parking and a 24-hour reception, so you can safely leave your car there. It’s also within walking distance to the city centre, which saves a lot on parking fees. When I stayed there, there weren’t many people, so it felt like having the whole place to myself. The bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas were quiet and clean, with no unpleasant smells, and someone came regularly to tidy up. The room was very comfortable as well. Highly recommended!

I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and the location made it really convenient to explore the area. The facilities were well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere felt relaxing and welcoming.|I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area

Overall a good experience with no issues during check-in. The rooms were cosy and clean. Our assigned parking was a bit far from our room, even though there were free parking spots available right in front of our room. Still, it was a pleasant stay — we’d return, but likely only when sales or discounts are available.

Rooms are clean. Near to the business center. Staff are very helpful and accommodating. But make sure you arrive early because parking is first come, first serve. The room hallway needs to put air freshener it doesn't smell that good. But inside, it's perfect. Sanitized also the door knob especially going to toilet alot of finger prints. But all in all it's good and it's cheap compared to others.

Great price! The rooms are nice and close to the downtown. Our service during check in was quite smooth, approx 15 min wait.

One word to summarise all of Pinewood lodge: INCONSISTENT So I booked in for one night when I arrived and for $40 it was a great twin double bed room with ensuite to myself. Then we booked in as a group forike $80-100 per night and it was a tiny room with bunks and a queen size bed. Then we needed to change rooms because we needed to stay another few nights and if was so tiny there was zero floor space for gear. Amenities: The showers had great pressure but inconsistent temperature. The first rooms were slightly broken, a little budget and the fans didn't work. The second lot was modern, renovated, and worked well. Separately the washing machines are really expensive and they don't properly spin your clothes so I had to leave my delicate merino wool stuff in the drying room overnight (that was my solution that took lots of questioning of the staff member before I came up with the solution.) Kitchens: Each kitchen we used had completely different amenities, bowls, pots, chopping boards or tools and some were missing enough to make it a functional kitchen. Some were massive and some tiny, regardless of how many beds were in the building. Customer service: On the last days, We were booked next to a school basketball tour group. This made driving in and out and parking hard, the kitchen was me at to be shared but that was impractical and the establishment had told the school group that they had exclusive usage of the room (but the fine print said not for the kitchen) as they require that for safety of the kids. While I was sorting this out and trying to get access to another kitchen the staff member was about to give me the private number of the person organising the school group and I had to advise them not to do that. Finally after the school group left, a staff member came down to the shared kitchen and started throwing food away thinking it belonged to them, even though it was clearly in the shelf for our room. They financially compensated me for it. Summary: Basically, this place is a gamble, you can get wonderful modern amenities, showers that look nice and work, spacious bedrooms and peace and quiet... Or you can get horrendous customer service, cramped bedrooms, broken appliances and lack of safety of personal details and property.
