Pros - Walking distance to halls gap centre. Kangaroos in near vicinity. Cons - When I arrived at the property, room was not ready. Reception did told me to get it ready in 5-10 mins. however when i finally entered room, there was really bad odour in the room. - Detailed cleaning is needed and staff needs to ensure that room doesn't have bad odour. Also, it should be ensured that rooms are ready for smooth check in. Rooms are very basic and need a good clean.

There's nothing wrong with the resort in its self. It needs alot of love, attention, maintenance, and a good ol gardener. With the current management I can't see it moving forward or in the right direction that the Pinnacle Lodge needs. On arrival, management asked for payment, which we had already paid when booking the room (over the phone). We were put in an embarrassing position that they didn't receive our payment, thankfully Hubby showed them our payment confirmation - No apology from management. Everyday we'd ask for coffee, towels, loo paper refills - the response was like 'What do you want now'. They don't dress like management material, -Trackie dacks, dressing gown, no name tags. It's like they were the tourist. It felt like we were an inconvenience to having to ask for normal stuff. I made a review after the third day, and was harassed by the pair of them to delete my review, sadly I deleted that review, to prevent on going asking to delete my review, but now I'm telling how it really was. They should've taken my first review. The current management are not doing their job, she just walks around on her phone acting the tourist instead of looking after a very important part of the Grampians. So disappointed 😔 I'd never stay there again as long as these guys are management It's a resort that means so much to me ❤️ It needs new management! They didn't even know what a 'Cocky' is😔

Stayed one night over the weekend. The property is in the best location. Close to absolutely everything that The Gap has to offer. The owner was friendly and welcoming. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but that was ok. We explored the town and enjoy a wine or two at The Grampians Cellar. A brilliant location. The room was outdated but comfortable and most importantly clean. We were happy. The lodge does not pretend to be something it is not. It's a good property. Would be stay again? Yes we would.

When you consider the price here, this is a great place in my opinion. Yes it is older, and I’m guessing there might be a time that this will happen, and then the prices will increase and I’ll be disappointed. I am a return customer and have booked in my third visit next month. If you miss the older style motel rooms that mean you’re not on top of each other you’re set. Plenty of space, large older style rooms with everything we needed and then some. Heaps of pillows, blankets and the kitchen has everything you need to make a basic meal. There’s no stove, but you’ve got a microwave, electric frypan, toaster and kettle. Plenty of plates, cutlery and things to help you at a bbq. There’s basic toiletry supplies, extra toilet paper etc. As I was about to leave my review I saw a few others. My room was clean, no odour, sheets/beds well made and clean until I pulled them back to take photos. Shower/bathroom and toilet were also clean as was the kitchen. I’m willing to say there’s some dust under the bed, but I’m not disappointed in that. Again it is older, but look at my photos, go through some of my other reviews on here. I travel a lot, and often on a budget. I’m happy I’ve got another visit here to look forward to, mostly because I’ve come here to spend time outdoors, not just in our accommodation.

We have visited Halls Gap for many many years! We love this little place and all it has to offer. We recently booked a 4 night stay at the Pinnacle Lodge and were really looking forward to our stay. Check in required us to phone reception as other reviews we have read. Even though the sign in the door says reception is open for hours during the day. Manager eventually turned up, we got our key and proceeded to our unit. All appeared ok, old but that’s ok. Unpacking, freezer has not had attention for some time, obvious. |Shower , we could hear dripping quite quickly, but we could deal with that. Unit really needs an update but we can deal with that. However,when I looked at the shower after returning from dinner later that night, there was an enormous amount of mould on the tiles, corners, door, and everywhere!!! I felt sick just looking at it! |Further to the shower, my husband tried to turn off the drip to no avail. Next morning, my husband needed a towel or cloth to be able to turn the taps in the shower. The when he finished could not turn the taps off, running quite fast. I could not have a shower in this disgusting condition with SO MUCH mould! Such an awful and dangerous to health! |We contacted the Managers phone to let him know about the plumbing situation, promised a phone call, but after 4 hours nothing! We then decided we could not stay another night in this accommodation with health risks. Also test and tag electrical items 2 months out of date. We went to Reception but still had to ring the manager. He eventually turned up, after the cleaner spoke to us. I am sorry, not sorry, but I struggled with the stench of body odour in the office. So much I was almost sick! We wanted a refund, as we had decided to just go home! It took almost an hour of negations, with a refund of the last 3 nights. Very little regard from management except for continued offer of another room! We did not want another night in this venue! |We can not believe the neglect of this place! We love Halls Gap, but I’m not sure I want to return.

Great location. Units had everything needed. Kitchenette, TV, basic crockery. Barely any hot water very intermittent, no cold tap required. Main bed extremely hard. Very worn towels. Staff friendly. Couldn't keep room warm as need fob in the slot, so when going for dinner heater was off. Car park close but when raining there were massive puddles around so made it difficult to get into car. Very convenient if need to be close to main street. Cafes close by.

Filthy, run-down, rude. This place is nothing short of a dump. The only thing more disgusting than the state of the rooms is the owners attitude towards his guests. Upon arrival you are greeted with the saddest looking basketball hoop and playground that would look more at place in an abandoned prison yard. Reception will not be attended by anyone, at any time of day. Instead you have to call the owner, who was rude and abrasive, and hope that he is around so you can get your room key. It only gets worse once you get inside your room. I can deal with old/ outdated accomodation, doesn’t bother me and can even be charming. But this place feels like a tourist cash grab that has no effort put into maintenance or cleaning. If I could describe the bathroom in one word it would be; Mouldy. There is mould everywhere. On the window, on the walls, in the shower. Every corner of the bathroom has some form of mould accompanying it. And this wasn’t just because we were unlucky enough to get a room that had been neglected; our family stayed in 4 rooms between us and each one was mouldier than the last. Once you get past the mould there’s the dust. Nothing other than the kitchen table and bench has been wiped down or cleaned, every light fitting was covered in a thick, oily layer of dust. The dead blow flies on the window sill were the most charming thing about this place. The place next to my parents also had a smashed window. Granted, this may not have been the owners fault but the large shards of glass left in the garden bed (where children would play next to and walk past) and the pathetic attempt at boarding the window up speaks volumes about the owners carelessness and incompetence. I highly recommend you find alternative accommodation and I hope that given the amount of bad reviews for this place it gets taken over by someone who actually cares about the town and it’s tourists other than just trying to make a buck. DO NOT STAY HERE.

Location is great however that is only positive with this dirty, shabby, uncared for accommodation. Need to wash dishes used, which is fine, if there was a plug, dishcloth and tea towels provided. Bathrooms mouldy in the 4 rooms i booked, towels thin, fraying and past use by date. Toaster rusted with dirt and fluff onbread when it popped up 😬😬flickering lights, toilet didn’t flush and would have checked out but had paid in full and given attitude of owner didn’t think i would get refund. Pictures on website are so outdated i cant even imagine it ever looked like this. So disappointing and I feel so ripped off as there were many other nice places in area. No love or care given to this place - avoid

To many signs stuck around the room felt like we were staying with an old grandmother. Bedding was dated.. EVERYTHING was dated!! Expensive for what you get. Many other better options
