West side, three quarters of a mile climbed up in about forty five minutes resting from time to time. Rocky but fun trails with amazing views! Secure to hike solo, plenty of hikers yet you get your space and peace, everyone is respectful. The main entrance to the park has moved to the new visitor center so you will have to use the new road to access the west summit picnic area.

Pinnacle Mountain is absolutely breathtaking! We took the west Summit Trail to the top and oh my gosh, even though it is a very challenging climb getting to the top it was well worth it. You have to do it at least once.! The last two or three mile markers is when you start climbing the boulders, but it’s very good exercise! My recommendation is to wear good hiking shoes with good traction and take plenty of water because you will stop and rest a lot along the way but well worth it!

Get away to the scenic wonders! In 2023, my husband and I visited this beautiful state park and hiked the base trail. We chose to return because we didn't have enough time to hike to the summit of Pinnacle Mountain. On March 24, 2025, we hiked to the West Summit Trail. This is a 1.4-mile round trip and an out and back trail type with 734 ft elevation gain. We completed the hike in 2 hours. The trail is well-maintained and clearly marked. There are a few seats along the trail where you may rest or enjoy the scenery. The hike offers breathtaking views of the surroundings and is enjoyable while being rather difficult. This trail requires some bouldering and scrambling due to its steep climb and rocky terrain, especially after point-7, where the path becomes entirely bouldery. We stayed on the summit for about thirty minutes, taking in the expansive views of the Arkansas River Valley, Lake Maumelle, and the surrounding area.

We enjoyed climbing the mountain. Trail was well marked and hard enough to make it challenging. We made it to marker 6, above that the trail turned to rock only. Beautiful view.

Going to Pinnacle is one of my favorite passtimes. The scenery is great, the people are always polite, and ita always family friendly. I got climb every Sunday and I have brought my leash trained pets and my nephews on several occasions. Always a great time you won't regret.

Vigorous hike, 795 ft up, full of boulders, great workout, pack a picnic because the top is the most amazing view! Leave your dog at home. Too hot and too dangerous if the dog pulls while scrambling up or down the large boulders. Really, too hot for them. I saw a man with a small dog at the top last weekend and that dog was hyperventilating and dehydrated. So sad.

If you like the outdoors, this is one of the top places to go in Arkansas. There's many trails. Great place for family, and friends. Its pet friendly too so bring them out! Be prepared for a good time! Enjoy.

As a nature guru, I love getting out in and finding new places to visit. This might sound odd, but as many times as I have been in Little Rock, I never knew this little gem existed. Thanks to the Arkansas passport, it has shown me places I never knew about. With Pinnacle Mountain State Park, I stopped at the former welcome center and peered across the valley. I was able to get a decent view of Pinnacle Mountain there as well. It has a very nice place to hike, or mountain bike. I love it! 8/10 will recommend.
