I just love the atmosphere at this market. If you’re new to Mazatlan you need to take a visit here. The prices overall is lower than other street vendors and the vegetable are fresh. Lots of seafood, beef, pork and chicken. If you can’t find it here you won’t find it anywhere. Love this place. Also a close walk to the “Shrimp Ladies” and “Old Town and a historic church”

Google
A vibrant market frequented by both local and tourists alike. We were looking for handmade local crafts which were aplenty but we decided on a store manned by Fernando, store #40 (from what i understood). Fernando has a gentle mannerism and is such a nice & polite gentleman. It also made it easier that the beautiful handmade necklaces we were looking for were displayed in a glass case, were reasonably priced & there was quite a variety to choose from. We also purchased a talavera plate and various earrings for gifts. We were very happy with the experience and our purchases.

Located in the heart of downtown Mazitlan. It is an active place for all (even a tourist destination) to experience a traditional market of Mexico(think farmer’s market with extras). The sell everything from chicken feet to plastic toys. The tamales were fantastic …so eat there too

Very fun to wander the stalls! Most of the stalls sold similar knick-knacks so don't be afraid to walk away from a deal and haggle with a different shop! The upstairs has several very cheap Mexican restaurants. We had smoothies from a vendor on the outside of the market that were delicious

I guess it’s going to depend on why you went to the market in the first place. Actual shopping because you live here or shopping for touristy gifts etc. A large selection of meats, vegetables, pastries and candies for the home. The market seems to becoming more tourist oriented every year with many booths carrying the same items. I don’t personally like being asked to buy a hat etc every 6 steps but if you’re looking for gifts you’ll find it here at a good price.

Google
Plan to spend some time here... It's super crowded and there's tons of vendors. Though many have seemingly the same things, you can find some more authentic ones mixed in. We loved the sweet bean dessert tamales - glad we noticed that vendor as she was sort of hidden down a little side area. If we had better ability to cook while we were there, this looked like a good place to get meats.

Google
Fabulous place to see real Mexico, not a sanitized tourist version! Wonderful place for buying fresh produce and meats. For a great, inexpensive lunch visit the second floor.

Awesome place to visit. Huge assortment of shopping stalls for locals and tourists

Yelp
We did a cooking glass and we toured the market where local chefs get their products. The produce stands had beautiful vegetables. Lady running stand very nice. There were butchers there. Locals drinking coffee and eating tacos.

Yelp
Large Mexican market selling fresh produce and meats for locals. The stalls are semi-permanent with some selling prepared food, but the vast majority is selling fresh meat. Not much you can bring back to a boat, but it is walkable from the cruise port (a little over a mile). There is some air circulation going through the lanes, so not so stuffy (good for the vendors).

Yelp
After walking through a bit of the Malecon, we hailed a couple of pulmonias asking them where we could go to tour. They recommended this place. I. Loved. It. Because this is as local as it's going to get. Located next to Liverpool and the Cathedral, a crowd is much expected. It didn't help that plenty of tourists saturated the area along with the locals but all vendors welcomed everyone just as equally. This place, as a whole, reminded me so much of the local markets in the Philippines. There is plenty to see. It's a mix of a little bit of everything: fruits and vegetables in one area, fresh meat and seafood in another, then there's corners of vendors selling grocery items and clothing, souvenir shops and even cafes. We had a little bit of time, so I took my time walking through every aisle. I did find some good buys (giveaways, mostly) and all of them reasonably priced. As with any foreign counties/citiesc one visits, be vigilant of your personal things. I didn't hear any bad things with regard to this, but it's always good to be aware. It was a great stop. If I wasn't so limited with time, I would have liked to have tried an eatery or one of the cafes. But there is always a next time...

Yelp
This is the second time I've been lucky enough to find myself in Mercado Pino Suarez. The first time was 11 years ago and just recently as last week. If you're looking for the best spot to buy souvenirs or tasty treats, this Mercado should be your first stop! If you're on a cruise this will be quite the distance from your port, so definitely hail a pulmonia. You'll also be able to take in a few local sites like the Basilica within walking distance from here. Do note that the Mercado is a dry location - so those delicious Micheladas you've been wanting won't be available here. But try any cart just outside.

Yelp
This is a small but great market. The vendors will haggle with you for a good price. I would recommend to speaking Spanish or trying to learn some while you are here.

Yelp
Some go on vacation to hang out at the hotel and the beach, while some like to explore the neighborhoods and take in the local flavor. While there's no right or wrong way to vacation, if you're in the latter crowd then the Mercado Pino Suarez is a must-do when in Mazatlan. Located in the historic Old Town core and surrounded by bustling streets, crazy traffic, and all sorts of smells this is an authentic market where locals (and tourists) shop for everything from food to souvenirs. You can find pretty much anything here, although most of the fun is just wandering around and gazing at the amazing selection of interesting meats, exotic (to me!) vegetables, locally-crafted goods, and (of course) people-watching. This is no tourist spot, though. It's old and pretty run-down. If strange smells and rough walkways scare you it's best to avoid the Mercado. But if you really want to feel like you're in Mazatlan then this place is a must-do when in town!

Yelp
I'm a diehard foodie and I'll eat just about anything, anywhere, but I had to draw the line at the little local eateries in the Mercado Pino Suarez. This market is a must-see for all visitors to Mazatlan if only to take in the various sights and smells! There are a mix of booths here, half for tourists and half for locals. Ignore the cheesy t-shirt, caps, and trinket shops and look for the "real" local food stalls. You'll be able to find fantastic spices, local fresh fish, butcher shops (with whole goats and the like), homemade breads and candies for sale. If you speak Spanish and spend pesos, that's a big plus. Once they see that you're a visitor, the prices will increase so be prepared. Bring your camera because this market is a photographer's dream! The colors and the sights, the diaper-clad kids, the random cat or dog running about, the handwoven sandals, the bottles of cheap tequila lining the walls -- there's not a lack of subject matter for your vacation pictures. Climb the very rickety staircase to the second floor where you'll find small restaurants that literally look like someone's house with a small kitchen and dining room. Grandma in the kitchen, mismatched napkins on the table. The proprietors will come out and try to lure you inside, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. I'm sure it would be fine to eat there if you have an iron stomach (I mean, there were freaking pigeons pooping in the doorways below) and they didn't look too clean or hygenic, even for standards in Mexico. The food offerings did smell good though, and if you want a true taste of authentic Mexican cooking, this is the place.

Yelp
If you are cooking for yourself in Mazatlan, this is the place to go. Don't go to Walmart. Great fish and meat counters, as well as dry goods and vegetable stalls. Bring a cart or some way to carry your food though, since they don't provide this. There's a nice bakery and a pharmacy close by (in Mazatlan, you buy milk and diapers at a pharmacy). I really enjoyed my trip here and cooked some memorable meals. They had fantastic Mahi Mahi and flounder. Also you must try the smoked tuna. It's a delicacy in Mazatlan.

Yelp
You can literally find anything here!!! Food stands, butchers, groceries, hose wears and gifts!! The market can get crowded and loud and that's part of the charm!! This is a must visit when you visit Mazatlan!!

Yelp
Large market with food stalls and curios. Some of the vendors can get pushy so just be firm and say "no gracias" if you don't want to buy anything. The souvenirs were standard issue-nothing particularly unique. I ended up getting and again fresca and Paletta at a stall. I *did* get some stomach issues about 12 hours later (probably because of the ice in my drink) but I wanted to try something other than hotel food. I also bought sweets for gifts. Great for browsing and lots of people watching! Just use common sense when ordering food/drinks if you have a weak stomach.

Yelp
We walked through the touristy (but very nice) town square and continued on to this mercado. We were recommended by a local volunteer that prices here are better, and a lot of locals shop here also (hence the meat and vegetable stands inside). There also are some eateries here (one of which we visited for lunch...I reviewed that separately). It's worth the walk, and I think gets one a bit more into the local culture and flavor compared to sticking with the tourist hot-spots a few blocks away.

Yelp
Great food market with lots of food stalls selling fruits and produce, fish and seafood, chicken and other meats. On the perimeter are all kinds of stores selling everything.

Yelp
Nice flea market style place in Mazatlan, Mexico. Located in the historic district of Mazatlan. Reminds me of an indoor farmers market. There are tons of vendors selling all kinds of goods. Need clothes, electronics, food, or souvenirs? You will find them plus more at one of the stalls. Make sure to bargain cause that is part of the fun! We scored some terrific deals at Mercado Pini Suárez, and you could too!

Yelp
When looking things to do in Mazatlan, this was a recommended place to visit. I personally like it as it felt lively and it was an unique way of experiencing the city. The market had a variety of shops in the square and larger stores down the street. There is a good amount of street vendors. Great place to get souvenirs and finding affordable clothing. There are plenty places to eat around here. It is busy and a great sight to see.

Yelp
This is a great experience and is only a block from the Basilica. It is a locals Mercado with many meat and fish vendors. All looked clean and delicious and there were absolutely NO FLIES on any of the meats. If I lived here, I would go to this market all the time for my meat. There are also other various vendors selling everything from roasted coffee to dresses to desert treats and on and on. If you make it to the church, you gotta make it to the Mercado!

Yelp
Four star... only because I couldnt stay long enough to fully enjoy shopping here. I could easily stay in a market place fir hours. Nevertheless, Hubby and I walked out with enough food for dinner, breakfast, and roadtrip snacks, a beautiful pair of huaraches, and a straw hat for hubby. All interchanges handled with smiles and much patience with my "un poco espanol."
