We've stayed here on a previous trip, just before they were merged with La Fonda. The rooms are nice, and having the Kiva Fireplace is really nice on chilly January evenings. They used to have really good cookies in the lobby, but now they are dry and blah. The bed pillows seem like they are 10 years old with no support which is a shame for otherwise nice beds and linens. It is a great location for visiting the city. The best restaurants and museums are all in easy walking distance, and the plaza is about a 5 minutes walk.

Such an awesome stay! Historic hotel with spot on upgrades. Very pet friendly- we had our own outdoor space. Can buy a bottle of wine from the hotel bar and bring it to your room. Free cookies and fresh coffee were a plus. And walking distance to the plaza.

This was one of the best hotels my husband and I have stayed in. We stayed in a room with a chimney which gave the room a romantic feel. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel was close to everything and it took no more than 5-10 minutes in walking distance. The hotel offered free breakfast and the breakfast was amazing. They had a burrito bar, waffles, biscuits, and fresh fruit. The staff were amazing and always happy to help.

We had a courtesy block at Pinon Court for our wedding, and also booked a deluxe king suite for the nights before and after our wedding. It was wonderful! Our second-floor suite was spacious, bright, and airy with a fireplace and balcony. There was plenty of room for a dozen gals to get ready and hang out on the wedding day. Management: market this as a bridal suite! But if you do, add a hook to hang a wedding dress from while steaming (somewhere very high!), and keep a good steamer in the room. Staff were also great, breakfast was solid, and location is fantastic. Highly recommend!

I would like to begin on a positive note by stating that the location was quite pleasant and convenient, making it easy to navigate the surrounding town. However, the area was somewhat noisy at times. Additionally, it is important to note that one staff member at the front desk and one restaurant employee were noticeably unprofessional and discourteous. Most concerning, I observed what appeared to be a bedbug on my bed, which was extremely disturbing and raised serious concerns regarding cleanliness and sanitation.

Cute boutique hotel with great hospitality and southwestern charm. Dog friendly was a huge plus! Comfy beds, Clean rooms, newly renovated with nice updates. Located close to the plaza so walking around was very easy. Would stay again!

The Piñon is AMAZING. We stayed here for one night while driving through to Phoenix. This was the perfect place. They have a gorgeous property no more than a 3 minute walk to downtown. Each room has a fireplace and is extremely dog friendly. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

The rooms are very nice. The location is fantastic. But I do want to especially point out that the front desk person was extremely helpful to us in getting our room and a true professional. Kudos to her.

Yelp
Nice clean rooms, Queen bed a bit small for us but mattress was comfy. Shower worked very well. Kiva fireplace in the corner though not needed as end of October still warm. We had Room 20 - nice because it had a table and four chairs right outside for common use. The rooms are arranged in courtyard style with parking outside. The breakfast burrito bar was great and everyone was tucking in nicely. It would have been nice to have vegetarian sausage and bacon options to add to our potato and egg burrito. The green chile was yummy.I would also recommend upgrading the tea bags from Bigelow for us Brits, fortunately I had brought my own. There is a nice little al fresco courtyard for sitting and winding down. the walk to the square was about 5 minutes. Easy Peasy. All this for $211 on a Monday.

Yelp
Comfortable room at a reasonable price. The mattress was old and not as nice as I would have hoped for. Excellent shower. Buffet breakfast was exceptional. Lots of fresh fruit, tortillas, sausage and bacon, scrambled eggs with toppings, breakfast potatoes, waffles, oatmeal, yogurt, good coffee.

Yelp
Really nice place just off the square, clean, comfortable and nice staff I'd stay here again. Such a great little town

Yelp
This is still a nice place; pet friendly; and convenient to the plaza. We have come every year for many years. This year, the name changed and the service did too. 1. We arrived about 2:30 and our room was not ready. (I find it odd that check in time is 4:00, when check out is at 11:00. ) We were told we would be called or texted when the room was ready. At 4:00 we were out but still no one had called. Since we had early dinner reservations we came back and, surprise, our room was, in fact, ready. Don't say you will call if you are not going to. 2. Our TV did not work. We were told we would get a credit on our bill but when we checked out, the desk clerk said a manager would contact us about the credit. No one ever did. But when we gave a negative review on Tripadvisor, the general manager responded and said we did not report any maintenance issues while "in house". This is a complete misrepresentation as we had called from the room and told whoever answered that our TV would not connect to the cable and read the error on the screen. They said they could not send someone and since we were leaving the next day we would get a credit on our balance at checkout. Excuses are one thing; lying about it is something else. 3. Amenities: Can they find any smaller soap "bars"? I hate waste but seriously? You know the little Hershey chocolate bites? They must use the same mold. And the shower soap pumps did not work well or were almost empty; I couldn't tell. 4. The hidden cost called the "$25 dollar nightly hotel fee" for parking (that used to be free), "gourmet breakfast", in-room coffee, and bottle water. Lastly, it's not a big deal but another example is the fact that coffee is now served from paper cups instead of mugs. (The manager also said coffee mugs are "readily available" at breakfast. Just not the two days I was there, apparently.) It seems like the "change" from The Old Santa Fe Inn has resulted in cost cutting and excuses rather than any improved quality of stay.
