Amazing meal. Real authentic and well priced. The place was packed with locals which gave us a good feeling. The seafood rice was great. The pork loin with clams and coriander was perfect.

Absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The seafood was a standout — especially the clams and prawns. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere had that perfect Lisbon charm. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a quality meal in the city center. Will definitely come back!

Came here for dinner after the day trip to Sintra and was a good experience overall. The Pinóquio-style paella was served with a decent amount of seafoods but we simply found it to be too salty. The fish and shells in the paella were delicious but the half lobster in it was definitely overcooked as it tasted very dry. The clams were nicely seasoned and went quite well with the white wine recommended by the server. It was slightly more expensive comparing to the other seafood places in town but guess it was still worth it for the whole dining environment and the level of services we got.

Amazingly fresh seafood. Prawn da Costa is the go-to. When the seafood is fresh, you don't need to do anything except simple cooking and a splash of salt. The seafood rice(saucy) and the Pinoquio paella (dry) are both excellent. The house speciality steak is the best filet mignon you can have. It comes with crispy potato chips you ever wanted. One thing to know is when you order the prawn or any weighted dish, be sure to mention the rough size. We went consecutively but one day the prawn was 300g and the other day we got charged for 500g. Swear they feel like the same size (we eat at lots of seafood places so we really can tell). For 300g, it seems large, for 500g, it seems small. Well, averagely it's ok....but so you know!!

We had a great late lunch here. The food was amazing! We ate ham with melon and Cheese. Cheese was amazing but i could be strong for some. Both rices were great! Green house wine was perfect to calm the thirst.

Barefoot Centipede

Google
A great address for fish lovers, mixing some Portuguese, Spanish and Italian specialities (all perfectly delicious.) The restaurant is not so large, but the terrace offers some breathing space. Good choice of wines. Service is welcoming and friendly, by a well seasoned staff.

Google
Although pricey, the food really was good and worth it. The restaurant is outdoors-only. Unfortunately the server did ask for a tip which caught us off guard as Portugal does not have a tipping culture like in North America

Google
The culinary experience, service, and ambiance were exceptional. The wine selection was particularly delightful. Dining outdoors on a picturesque evening in Lisbon, savoring a delectable meal, was an unforgettable experience. The only reason for a four-star rating for the atmosphere is the presence of a street vendor selling items at our table.

Yelp
Hello everyone! So we find ourselves in beautiful Lisbon, Portugal as we are kicking off a wonderful vacation in this beautiful city. Getting our bearings and after some settling in we decided to get some dinner and seafood was in order. Now Portugal is know for good food and Lisbon had no shortage of it for sure. So after consulting our trusty Yelp app, we found Restaurante Pinoquio which was just 5 to 10 minutes away from the Sofitel Liberadere which is a wonderful hotel on Portugal's parallel to the Champs Elyssee in Paris but that is for another review. Upon arriving we were greeted and seated quite fast but It was a Tuesday night and from the looks of things, I can definitely see this place getting packed as we get closer to the weekend. Plenty of locals in the mix at this place which is always a great sign and dining "Al Fresco" is in order as all seating is outside. This should not be a problem as most evenings in Lisbon are very nice and it's a great way to people watch as well. Francisco and Marco our servers did an great job of making some recommendations and soon we were all enjoying some awesome toasted bread and Calamata olives which were absolutely delicious. Quick note is that butter is normally already on the bread so if you don't want any make sure to let them know. For starters we all had the Seafood Bisque or as they call it "Crema de Marisco". which was delicious and for our main courses we went with the two (2h "Bacalao Al Horno" with Baked Potatoes and Veggies. Now the portions are quite big here, so if you are not extremely hungry, splitting a meal with your significant other is very possible. Prices are very reasonable by US standards but on the high side by Portugal standards. Well worth the money though. Parking is pretty much non-existent so I would not even try it. Highly recommend you UBER or take a nice walk as the City is quite beautiful. Will definitely say that the area this restaurant is located in is pretty upscale and plenty of high end shops and cafes along the way to check out. Overall we had an excellent experience and will definitely be back for more. So if you find yourself in Lisbon and are in the mood for a nice outside dining experience feel free to check them out. Enjoy and Bon Appétit m'es amis!

Yelp
Went to both the main one and the one at Time Out. They were both great and did not disappoint. The portions are generous, so don't let the prices discourage you, if you're on a budget. One plate can easily feed two hungry people (and we can eat:-). We had the seafood rice. It came in a pot. Lots of seafood. We also had the big shrimp dish and the clams. Delicious. It's not your typical romantic atmosphere and it's not very quiet but it's a lot of fun and you get to make friends with people around your table!

Yelp
Fantastic! We sat outdoors on their patio. It was a very sunny day and the umbrellas completely blocked the sun, something that was inconsistent in Lisbon restaurants. We were seated immediately when we arrived at a very nice table with a partial view of the kitchen. The server was outstanding! We described what we liked and he made recommendations. Be sure you know - when you go to a nice restaurant in Portugal, they bring bread, butter, olives, and sometimes other items. These are not complimentary. And while they are not expensive and you can refuse them, we chose to keep and enjoy them. We also started with a salad for two. It was a leafy green salad with marinated vegetables and it was really delicious. The size was generous, but we did finish it before our main course arrived. I'd been craving Paella lately and they had several versions on the menu. I had the seafood Paella. My wife had steak with mushroom sauce. The Paella was really outstanding. While I thought the rice was a little too soupy, it had a wonderful saffron flavor. There were huge chunks of fish, lots of shrimp (one of which was head-on), squid, and in the center there was a nice sized lobster tail. The portion was so large I could not finish it. They serve it with homemade potato chips. We also had a small bottle of Vino Verdo (green (white) wine), recommended by our server. It was terrific (and can be seen in one of my photos). We finished our meal with a coffee for my wife and an espresso for me. By Portuguese standards, Restaurante Pinóquio is quite expensive. By US standards it was quite reasonable. If we go back to Lisbon, Restaurante Pinóquio is a must go to. Incidentally, it is attached to a very nice looking hotel we will also look into and is in a fun area to walk around in. They really went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience.

Yelp
We were recommended Pinóquio by our hotel lobby and wow were we impressed. This probably was the best meal we had on our trip! We came in on a Saturday night for dinner and the outside terrace was packed. This was for good reason as the food was top tier. We ordered the mixed BBQ and seafood pasta. The meat was tender and full of the garlicky flavor while the pasta's seafood was so fresh and had a savory broth. Even though the price here may be a bit more expensive, it is well worth it for the portion size and quality of food you receive. Local Portuguese dishes can't get better than Pinóquio and this restaurant is definitely a must visit when you are in Lisbon!

Yelp
Definitely felt geared more towards tourists. The seafood pasta had macaroni pasta, but the sauce wasn't too bad. I wouldn't recommend getting the seafood rice, which came with a different sauce/soup and didn't taste great. The seafood paella was also only ok, wouldn't get it again.

Yelp
Wow!! An incredible experience in a town of incredible experiences. Restaurante Pinóquio ranks as one of the best meals of my life. The shared seafood paella was legendary. Incredible mussels, fsh, octopus all is a steeply simmered fish broth of perfectly sautéed risotto. The waiter was an absolute character. Hilarious, self-deprecating and always on the spot when it comes to the perfect wine food paring. I loved this place. Worth wait out front!

Yelp
Food and service were on point. We went on a Friday and showed up at around 8pm. This is prime time dinner hour and we were about 7th party in line but the line moved well. We tried the seafood paella and seafood pasta among others things. Food was excellent. In fact, my mouth is watering as I write this review. The ham and melon were such a nice pairing. So simple and so good. Each item brings out more of the flavor of the other. Our server (I forgot his name) was fast and fun. He had a playful personality (he can move his ears) and we really appreciated it. Dessert was fantastic too. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best meal I've had in...my life??? I was seated quickly at their beautiful outdoor patio for lunch on a weekday. I got there a bit before 12 and so it was not too crowded but filled up quickly during the meal. They also have indoor seating. The servers were all incredibly kind and made the experience even better. They went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and taken care of!! The paella was out of this world - it takes about 20 min to cook, but it is worth the wait! The fresh bread and olives kept me from getting too hungry while I waited. The paella was packed with seafood and it was so flavorful. It was a huge serving - I did my best to eat as much as I could but it's best for sharing (or taking half for leftovers)! I would definitely come back to Pinóquio if I am ever back in Lisbon! Don't miss out on this meal!!

Yelp
Excellent service and food. Very long line, crowded and hard to get a table. The polvo and bacon is to die for. Meal for four including wine cost about €130.

Yelp
Had lunch here today in Lisbon. The shrimp salad was good. My Paella was loaded with seafood but lacked flavor. My wife had a hamburger and fries, which she said was pretty good. Another good place to people watch. Service was good. Very plain restaurant with typical outside seating under an awning.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food and service. Expect to wait because the line is long. Our first time and we were pleasantly impressed. Seating indoor/outdoor but limited $$

Yelp
Lovely restaurant, very popular. In the middle of downtown. Had the paella, wonderful. Also had the shrimp omelette and melon with ham, great! Actually went for a late lunch, couldn't get in for dinner!

Yelp
After a day of gallivanting around town, my wife and I were starving for lunch. Thankfully, we had a long list of restaurants that came highly recommended from Dare Lisbon House (please read my review for them if you're looking for a nice boutique hotel). One of the restaurants that we had yet to visit was Restaurante Pinoquio; therefore, we decided that would be our lunchtime destination. When we arrived to the outdoor seating area, we were greeted by a healthy line. An employee was greeting folks in line and quickly adding them to a list. Since we only required a table for two, he informed us that our wait would be minimal. Roughly 25 minutes later our names were called and we were being ushered to a table. Since we had reviewed the menu while we were in line, we quickly placed an order for a large pitcher of Sangria and the seafood pot consisting of lobster, clams, shrimp, and pasta. Our server (unfortunately I did not capture his name) was extremely attentive, and brought bread (FYI the bread is not free-I believe it's 2 Euros) along with our pitcher of Sangria. Less than 20 minutes later our seafood pot arrived. Being that the seafood pot was a hefty portion, I'm so glad that my wife and I decided to share it. It remained hot the entire time, and we both found it to be extremely delicious and satisfying. On to the Sangria...meu Deus! It was the perfect blend of alcohol and fruit, which is not usually the case (most sangrias that we have had are too fruit forward with little hints of alcohol). If you're looking for good food + customer service, I highly recommend visiting Restaurante Pinoquio!

Yelp
Our first meal in Lisbon. A recommendation from "Rick Steves Portugal" Guidebook. Came here for a very late lunch / early dinner. We were seated promptly outside. Thankfully it wasn't too cold out because the heater wasn't working. They served us some warm bread and olives to start. Thanks to the guidebook, I knew that no bread / appetizer is free but the bread was delicious; we didn't touch the olives. They charged us €3. To drink we just have still water. We were the very few not having alcoholic beverages but we were thirsty. At first the waiter did not engage with us in English so we tried a bit of Portuguese, and the more we tried, the more English he seemed to know lol lesson learned (start with broken Portuguese if you can). To eat we shared the lamb chops (delicious! Though I asked for "medium rare" and got basically medium/well done. Still tasty. We also shared the seafood pasta--this was an unexpected dish. It's basically a soup with elbow noodles and seafood (shrimp, clams, lobster). It was delicious, especially with the seasoned oil they provide (I have no idea what it's called). Overall great meal.

Yelp
Wonderfull, authentic Portuguese dishes with a very friendly, attentive staff. A must go to when you're in Lisbon.
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
This place cooks up some amazing seafood dishes. We ordered a few different dishes and shared them family style. All of them were great. We had the seafood pasta, seafood rice, veg paella, and seafood curry. Note: I only do 5 star ratings. I only rate places that I love so that I can go again if I'm back in that city. So, I can guarantee that my reviews are all places that I loved. Pinóquio might be a liar, but my reviews are honest. ;)
google avatar

Alex H.

Yelp
Ate here on my last business trip and will definitely go again on my current trip to Lisbon. Basically, this is a great seafood restaurant plus. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The place is not near water, but they've done a nice job with privacy type foliage to make even the outside sitting intimate. Now, I travel all over the world and just before coming here I was in Seville, Spain and I can, in all honesty, say that the seafood paella I ate here is the best I've ever had bar none. The rest of the food was well prepared and had great flavor, but the paella left an impression on me since I've eaten paella many times before all over Spain and other countries. Pinoquio gets packed and there is often a line, so be prepared to wait outside for a while. Cheers!!!!

Katja K.

Yelp
This is a top rated restaurant in Lisbon and totally worth it. The food tasted very authentic. Very heavy on the garlic and butter but enjoy your vacation! Share these dishes because the portion sizes are large. You might wait in a bit of a line but they do take reservations in advance via email online.

Yelp
The service! The location! The ambiance! The FOOD! No complaints! All stellar compliments!! We were so happy we came! Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Perhaps my favorite restaurant In Lisbon Started off with amazing bread, Clams, octopus, paella seafood and Must try sangria: the best I've had Much much Better than Ramiro's. And central location Go to Paul cafe after down the street
google avatar

Koreen D.

Yelp
Ramiro was closed for the summer so went to Pinoquio for a seafood dinner instead. Be prepared to fall in line and immerse yourself into the chaos. What we got: 1. Giant prawns: simple, but amazing. Can't beat fresh Giant prawns cooked on the plancha with some lemon. 2. Pica pau: this serving was huge and totally worth it. A bit saltier than I would've wanted but okay 3. Seafood stew: I'm a sucker for a seafood stew, and this was pretty good. Lots of beans, lots of seafood. A bit salty too but nothing some lemon won't fix

Yelp
My wife and I were vacationing in Lisbon this past November, 2023. We had just returned from a tour and thought we'd get some dinner at a nice place. The line trying to get in at that time was long, and the way it was longer. But, it was all worth the wait. My wife had the curry chicken and I ordered the seafood paella. Both were delicious! We also had wonderful company with the couple sitting at the next table. Very friendly, fun-loving, well traveled, and even helped us get our bill at the end, as most people around us were just hanging out and enjoying the nightlife, but we were tired and dying to go to bed. Turns out, the gentleman next to us was the owner, Felipe! Should have gotten a pic!

Stanley C.

Yelp
Sat outdoors by arriving around 6:30 for dinner. Minimal wait despite no reservation. Food excellent with large portions and service was pleasant and efficient. All Americans surrounding us but food and friendly atmosphere enjoyable.
google avatar

Sean M.

Yelp
Excellent seafood. Friendly local staff as is the norm for most of Lisbon. Perfect location!
google avatar

Marcia A.

Yelp
Very nice place, a little over priced compared to other restaurants we visited in Portugal but the service and the food was great.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
Excellent experience dining at Pinóquio on the patio for dinner. Seafood paella was amazing. Reasonable prices given the high quality. Service was great with staff friendly and able to communicate easily in English and Spanish while also allowing us to practice our limited Portuguese. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Somya S.

Yelp
Made it on the first day of 2023! Had their Seafood Pasta. Good. Man! It's a big portion. The seafood soup base is good, not too salty, and the seafood pieces are plenty. It is big enough for two people. I could not finish all the pasta. Service was good. I should have sat outside though. I sat in the 'basement' inside and was too hot as I started eating. Outside would have been heavenly. It is also a tad expensive.
google avatar

Andrea U.

Yelp
We sat under a misting cooling blue umbrella. Our waiter brought over olives, warm garlic bread & water while we reviewed the many pages of the menu. We started by sharing water & a pitcher of sangria. We shared a paella & melon with prosciutto. The paella was so fresh the rice was so silky, the one entrée was enough for the both of us. Exceptional meal, service & atmosphere!
google avatar

Melis A.

Yelp
My hotel concierge recommended Pinoquio as checking all the boxes: easy to find, great seafood, good service, and it did check all these boxes. Seafood Paella was absolutely delicious and flavorful. My server was kind and helpful. Would highly recommend!
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
One of the best seafood restaurants in Lisbon. Located in the PRAÇA DOS RESTAURADORES. Unfortunately they don't take reservations but the wait was short, about 15/20 minutes. We sat outside and had a fantastic waiter. He suggested we only get a paella and another entrée for the 4 of us. Also I asked about 2 wines and the one he recommended was the best wine we had on our trip. Started with a very good Vegetable soup. For mains we had the Pinochio paella, with lobster, prawns, clams, and squid, excellent and the Cod in the oven a Saloio with roasted potatoes, green bean and tomato, also very good. For dessert we had Chocolate cake. I highly recommend trying Restaurante Cervejaria Pinoquio for a memorable dining experience.

Debbie S.

Yelp
We were in Lisbon for four nights and had dinner here for three of them. Had paella and a roasted fish the first night. Then saw the pot of bubbling seafood rice so ordered that the next night - it did not disappoint. Also had the garlic shrimp
google avatar

Genevieve G.

Yelp
Pinoquio came highly recommended by our hotel staff. Upon arrival, there was a short lineup with all outdoor tables occupied with elegant patrons. Dinner started with warm bread a f a lovely glass of wine. I ordered the squid & shrimp brochette and found it beautiful however slightly overcooked, overly seasoned on some bites and not at all on others. The service was polite and efficient. Value, quality and price point are average in my opinion.
google avatar

Kenneth M.

Yelp
Love the place and the service! They are known for their paellas and we ordered the pinoquio paella which had everything on it, lobster, shrimps, clams, squid and fish! It was very tasty but a bit too salty!! I think maybe the chef forgot he put salt already and added again! My lobster was good but my wife's lobster was really salty!, besides that, the sirloin steak we ordered was really good quality and so was the sangria!
google avatar

Lima B.

Yelp
Outdoor seating with outstanding garlic beef, wine & seafood paella with lobster & monkfish!!! Lovely customer service to boot!!!

Alvaro C.

Yelp
Amazing down to earth traditional Portuguese dishes and seafood. You know it has to be good when it is packed by locals and notice that many people know each other. Service very good and friendly. Went back the next evening. Clams superb. Seafood excellent. Rice dishes perfect. True Portuguese fare!
google avatar

Jill J.

Yelp
Our waiter, the one with glasses acted as if we were lucky to be in his establishment. Our family has been all over the world yet has never had horrible service like this. Regardless how delicious the food was, there will never, ever be a return visit to this restaurant.

Honey B.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere was amazing! The service was great and friendly. The locals are very nice.
google avatar

Fern D.

Yelp
What a wonderful and delicious find. The restaurant does not take reservations, but the wait isn't outrageous. They are efficient and friendly with plenty of space. The food is very good. We tried several dishes and each has been better than the last. To top it off, the lemon ice cream is a great way to end your meal.
google avatar

Sandra L.

Yelp
Pinoquino was one of the best experiences we had at Lisbon. On a chilling November night, we had just come back from a 3 hour train ride from Porto, we were refused at the door by a nearby restaurant that was supposed to close at 11 but closed the kitchen an hour earlier. Pissed, hungry, tired, and disappointed, we found Pinoquio around the corner. The nice gentleman at the door took us in quickly, walked us through the bright and warm dinning area that was full of happy guests, and sat us down at an intimate white-clothes table. We ordered a pitcher of sweet sangria that relaxed us soon after. I couldn't resist the seafood paella for one while my partner-in-crime went for the mixed bbq meat. Both dishes were rich in flavors and perfect comfort food. The paella was generously put together with lobster, prawn, squid, and fish. The yellow rice was soaked in the zesty juice of seafood. The mixed bbq meat was exceptionally tender and flavorful, soaked in butter. This night made us so happy, not only because of the amazing food, but the incredible hospitality and diligent services. I would recommend Pinoquio in a heartbeat.
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
A very disappointing meal here last night. Food was below average. Service was terrible. I would liken it to a poor cruise ship experience. If you must eat here get an outside table or leave. Inside is noisy and has no ambience. Trust me. Not worth the lineup.
google avatar

Mary B.

Yelp
The seafood paella was wonderful, the best I've ever had. Will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
The concierge in our hotel suggested Pinoquio and so it was the first place we ate upon arrival in Lisbon, but the memories of the meal lingered throughout the trip. Lunch at midweek had a lot of local businessmen eating together and that is a very positive sign. Portions are pretty big so come hungry! We had the paella for 2 and squid skewer, along with some sautéed shrimp to start and vinho verde to drink. The service was smooth even with old school waiters. We intended to return but kept finding new places so never made it back but hope to next visit.
google avatar

Teresa M.

Yelp
Great food with a wonderful patio and superb service. In a great area of Lisbon. The shrimp dish was amazing.
google avatar

Yen F.

Yelp
Food was ok, big portions. Service was friendly but not attentive. At the end of our dinner, the server asked us to give tips but we know tips are not required in Portugal. We had multiple meals in Lisbon restaurants, and this was the only place that asked for tips.

Merle L.

Yelp
Pinoquio was recommended by our our tour guide. I often find that guides and taxi drivers have better recommendations than concierges who sometimes get "kickbacks." The food and service were both good. Very much a locals place.

Jeri B.

Yelp
Always crowded tourist trap. Not sure what the hype is. We had rude service and mediocre food. Pass this one up.

Susan C.

Yelp
Great paella! Had a prawn cocktail. Creamy sauce , small fresh shrimp with tomato and parsley. Nice house white wine and Weiss beer. Funny , kind waiter. Would come back
google avatar

Samrana B.

Yelp
There is typically a line to get but don't be foul! The line goes really fast. It's basically walk in - stand in line and once you get to the front based on your pretty size you'll be seated as soon as someone leaves. Their capacity is 50 people at a time inside the restaurant. The ambiance was really nice. All men waiters wearing pastel green collared shirts. I have celiac disease this makes me gluten free and they were really accommodating once I showed them my Portuguese Restaurant Card. We started off with their (6) oysters for about 21 euros if I remember correctly. Then I got the garlic steak that comes with potatoes chips. The chips were extremely greasy for me and probably would have preferred rice with the steak I stead. The steak itself was amazing nice flavor and truly made the dish. My boyfriend got the soup which had a generous amount of shrimp in it. He did feel like the soup was overwhelming and I certainly couldn't help because of the pasta (gluten) that was in there. Portions are pretty big so order as a family style instead of a dish for each individual. Overall 4/5!

Candace J.

Yelp
The best food I had in Lisbon! My Airbnb host recommended this place and I am so glad she did. Order the seafood rice! The best dish I tried hands down. The sangria was also good. The seafood pasta comes with mini macaroni noodles so it's more like soup. The seafood rice is better because the rice absorbs the liquid and you get more of the flavors. This place is really popular and locals also eat here. So the line is long and you'll have to wait for a while to get a table. But the food is worth the wait.
