Google
Had both dinner and breakfast here, and also tried the restaurant right next door for comparison. Gotta say I liked Pioneer Grill way more. The food just hit better, even though the two spots serve different styles and are clearly going for different vibes. No reservation needed at Pioneer Grill, which is a plus. The place next door is supposed to have a better view of the Tetons, but honestly, you don’t really see much from inside anyway. You’re better off grabbing a solid meal at Pioneer and then taking a walk outside to actually enjoy the view. Totally worth it!

Google
It's an OK experienckek okhere, sitting at a mass-serve table. All thr meat is pre-cooked so you can't even get a proper medium rare. Food didn't take too long and servers were trying to do the best they could in their little section. Views in the lobby are spectacular, tho!

Google
Good variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts. We were disappointed that the marinated chicken was sold out within 45 minutes of the restaurant opening, but everything else was in stock. The prices are okay and comparable to most other restaurants within the parks. Pictured are scoops of ice cream and the Taco Salad which was amazing!

Google
Fun location. Prices are a bit up there for the food quality, which was mediocre but honestly I expected worse. The cost was 63$ for two meals and a dessert so not too bad for the area. The restaurant is themed 50’s and super cute and interesting setup that allows you to socialize with other parties if you please. Can accommodate big groups, too, it looked like! No wait and service was extremely quick. Parking was a breeze, free, and very close. Lots of little shops in the lodge to choose from, too. May experience language barriers with foreign workers but no problems this time. I generally avoid Vail properties but this was convenient cause we stayed at a nearby campsite.

Google
Excellent diner to visit during our trip. Food was great and service was excellent. This is a very well managed spot! They were quick to fix a small issue with our order and comped the item with no questions asked because it took longer than expected while they were switching to lunch service. They even treated us to a few complimentary muffins during the short wait which were tasty. The restaurant feels well kept and clean, too. We highly recommend Pioneer Grill.

Google
A unique restaurant located in the lodge. Square shape marble table with bar high chairs. Waiters in the middle of space to serve customers. The atmosphere is welcoming. Food is ok. I love the wrap that I ordered. Fresh and healthy material. Good to try.

Rachel Virden

Google
Why why why would you serve a takeout bread pudding stone cold? I like that you served the ice cream and butterscotch in a separate container but there was no warming in any capacity of the actual bread pudding. It's actually a decent attempt at bread pudding if served properly. The goal was to eat this on my cottage patio while my kids are getting into bed so I specifically ordered it to go.

Google
Loved our Huckleberry and Chocolate shakes! Must do if you come here. Burgers were also good.

Yelp
Loved this place! It is making a nice attempt to be a 50's style diner with a modern twist. Great menu and excellent counter service! We enjoyed listening to the music from the 50's/60's. The food was delicious and plenty. I really enjoyed their turkey sandwich . There is something about a fresh made sandwich from a diner. It hits just right!

Maria M.

Yelp
The place was busy, overall a great place, and it looked like a dinner. Brad was very attentive and hard working, constantly taking customers orders. The Cowboy burger was delicious, maybe a little more sauce would be better. I'm not the one to complain, but The Chicken wrap was the saddest wrap I've ever had! It was mostly lettuce, it was supposed to have chicken. I would recommend that all workers should help each other, I noticed Brad was backed up and my meals sat up on the counter, while other colleagues just stood there or would look at the tab, like saying "not mine" and keep standing there. I would return again. I saw many people order ice cream and shakes, so maybe next time.

Yelp
This grill is at a very accessible location in the park inside the Jackson lodge. I loved the seating/serving diner style vibe here. They didn't have a lot of vegan options but the servers were kind to accommodate whatever they could. I had a vegan blackbean wrap and my husband had asked for a vegan quesadilla and he got a tortilla with sad looking black beans sprinkled on it lol! Nevertheless, they showed that they tried and I appreciate the efforts. My wrap was decent!

Yelp
Fun retro diner at Jackson Lake Lodge, this restaurant has a good selection of breakfast (til 10:30) and lunch/dinner (after 11am) menu items. The staff is hardworking and tries really hard to keep up with the rotation of self-seated diners. Food is tasty and fresh, but sometimes getting cold when served.

Lunna C.

Yelp
We were headed out of The Grand Tetons and were starving. Although we could make our own food, traveling in a van, we didn't feel like cooking. We came across this lodging and saw that they had a restaurant. The cafe has a fun feel, and you sit facing other people. I bet the setup probably makes being a server much easier than having scattered tables around a restaurant. The food was pretty good, and the service was excellent. I think it was the manager who was walking around checking on everyone, and he seemed to really care about how the place was running. I recommend this restaurant if you are passing through the area. We came in the evening, and it wasn't terribly busy.

Takao N.

Yelp
Good old time food. Had Egg Classic. International vibe and the view from the lodge is gorgeous!!!

Clifford H.

Yelp
I didn't take any pics so I will get to the point. I got the Buffalo chicken wrap and it was ok, it had a ton of blue cheese and lettuce but very little chicken. My wife got the BBBLT it came with maybe 4 slices of bacon and it was good but so is any other BLT . We both got fries and they were the crispy type and tasted yummy. The service was friendly and very helpful.

Hannah S.

Yelp
We ate several of our meals here during our stay at the Jackson Lake Lodge for Memorial Day weekend 2023 and loved every visit!! Almost everything we ate was delicious, we loved the retro diner vibes, and our server was always Bella - and she is AWESOME!! She worked her butt off to make all her customers happy - phenomenal service! In fact, we enjoyed Bella's service so much that we made sure we sat in her section every time lol! Most of the time, the crowds weren't too bad. But on the Saturday of our visit, some tour buses showed up unannounced and caused absolute chaos lol. But Bella maintained her composure and handled business like a champ! Kudos to her!! Our party of three tried the following savory dishes: taco salad, Buffalo chicken wrap, seared trout piccata, tuna melt, Buffalo burger, southwest avocado wrap, brisket French dip, and the chicken quesadilla. I can definitely recommend all of it except for the French dip. Everything had great flavors and quality ingredients- their fries are excellent, their fruit cup sides are ample and even had dragon fruit!! The taco salad was my favorite!! So good! The French dip was the only complaint- the meat was just too dry. We also shared a couple of desserts. We tried the Teton Trio for fun bc why not? Haha! It's HUGE!! It comes with a giant chocolate chip cookie, delectable brownie, and an adorable Teton-shaped rice crispy treat - all topped with THREE generous scoops of vanilla ice cream! The three of us couldn't finish it haha! But it was great - definitely fun to try at least and everybody stares at you with envy lol. The Huckle-brownie was our fave though. Their brownies are just wonderful - but that huckleberry ice cream is absolutely fantastic! Loved it!! Their hot chocolate it pretty good too - made with milk - not water so it's legit lol. You'll find this cute retro diner inside the lodge up one floor from the entrance and open to anyone (not just lodge guests). Very easy to find and they're open breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You don't need reservations but I imagine a long line can build up in the busy season. I recommend eating outside of normal dining hours in those cases. Prices are a tad high but you're a bit of a captive audience inside the park unless you want to drive really far for other choices - and the prices weren't as bad as we expected - plus the food is good so it's worth it!

Brianne L.

Yelp
This place is fine for quick dining at the lodge. You will often have to rate National park dining on a different scale than standard, but as for a diner in the Grand Teton National Park, this place is A-Ok. We came he multiple times, and the food was consistent. The service varied, but I would say it was better more often than not. Overall, If you're local and need a bite to eat, stop by and get yourself some food.

Hanna K.

Yelp
We did not stay at the Jackson Lake Lodge but stopped by for the view. They are located upstairs to your left. There are two bathrooms located on that second floor, one close to the gift shop and the other next to the restaurant that has the outdoor seating. You can order from the to-go window to the right or eat in. We decided to order to-go to eat with the view. The wait was about 30minutes to get our order due to them having to grill. The girl at the pickup window was extremely unfriendly and gave the whole "I hate my job vibe"; didn't smile and didn't even answer my question of how long the wait might be. We ordered the mushroom burger and the bison burger. The mushroom burger was ok; patty was overcooked and the bun was dry. The bison burger was also super overcooked and flavorless. Not worth the expensive price tag. Their fries was the best, well seasoned and crispy. It was the thicker cut seasoned fries. Out of the two burger, I would eat the mushroom. You may eat inside on the couch and tables in the common area or on the benches outside. The tables outside belong to the other restaurant but they didn't mind us sitting there due to their burger grill being closed due to the weather (they grill outside and close it if it rains). The view was magnificent if there's clear sky.

Yelp
Great diner like setting and food to go with it. Had breakfast here and really enjoyed it. Bobby was our server and just awesome. Staff worked hard and very attentive to every need. Baked goods looked awesome as well.

Henry P.

Yelp
So this was the first time there. Our servers were Bradly & Franklin there provided great customer service and recommendations. We got the following Brisket French dip, Soup, Chicken Caesar wrap, and Huckleberry shake Dinner was great. Much thanks and mahalo's to Bradly, Franklin and team

Yelp
In yellow stone national park if you are up at the famous Jackson Lake Lodge, the pioneer grill is a place to start your morning. It's a classic 1950s style diner were you eat on the counter. The wheat staff is from all over the world. You also meet people from all over the world as counter dining tends to lead oneself to conversation. You kind of feel transported back in time with the linoleum countertops and shoveling diner chairs. Huckleberry pancakes with fresh fruit and a glass of OJ, is a great way to start your day. You get two huge pancakes, dotted with tart yet sweet huckleberry the dollop of butter. My wife ordered the steel cut oatmeal with fresh fruit, a little bit of nuts and some brown sugar. Both dishes were excellent and the prices are very reasonable. They open early at 6 AM and close at 10 PM You can order your food to go if you are hankering to get out early and see the wildlife in Yellowstone. besides breakfast, their lunch and dinner it's just classic American diner food. The milkshakes not too bad either. The Poutine french fries with brown gravy and cheese curd top with a little chives was so good. Also their classic American hotdog. How can you go wrong? Even if you're not staying at the famous Jackson Lake Lodge, you can always drop by for a bite to eat.

Nate C.

Yelp
We enjoyed an excellent lunchtime experience here, all due to our amazing waiter Bobby (from Ohio). You are great at what you do, sir. Thank you again. The burgers are outstanding, too.

Tee D.

Yelp
Worst experience ever. Granted we came in on Sunday night, we ordered a quesadilla and a wrap. FIFTY minutes later, no wrap and no quesadilla with no good ETA as to when we might get served. Diner got slammed with take out orders that seemingly took priority over people actually in the diner. Would not recommend if they are even slightly busy.

Brian C.

Yelp
Be aware that they expect you to tip if you are getting your food TO-GO. I ordered two burgers TO-GO and the waiter (forgot his name but he's from Louisiana) yelled at me for not tipping for a to-go order. Unacceptable to yell at a customer for not tipping for a to-go order. I ended up tipping even though they didn't provide any eating utensils, napkins, or condiments. I guess he tips when he gets fast food to-go at McDonald's? Both burgers I got were dry. Cole slaw was flavorless. Only the fries were ok. Avoid this place at all costs.

Linda R.

Yelp
Cute old fashioned style counter service. Varied menu, good selection of things like tuna melt and turkey melt. A nice change from burgers but they also have burgers. We were able to get in and served fairly quickly. There is also a to go counter if you want to grab and eat outside.

Yelp
The Huckleberry Shake at the Pioneer Grill. Somewhere in the planning of our summer road trip 2021, we were going to be driving from Yellowstone National Park exiting the south entrance to head to Jackson Hole. Not sure if in Conde Nast Traveler or another travel periodical, I made note that the Jackson Lake Lodge is a scenic spot to have a meal or at the very least take a pit stop and grab a Huckleberry shake. What is a Huckleberry Shake? A huckleberry is small round berry resembling a blueberry that thrives in the Rocky Mountain regions of Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Huckleberry + Ice Cream + sprinkles + whip cream = Huckleberry shake! Why would I want to stop and get a Huckleberry Shake? Well, the Jackson Lake Lodge is the perfect pit stop to stretch your legs, hit the head and take a minute before you go from one gorgeous national park to another. And whether you are seeking a full meal or simply a Huckleberry shake, when is food not an ideal option on any road trip, when you know clean bathrooms are close by. Am I right or am I right? My "take on the shake!" Part birthday cake, part sugar buzz, part huckleberry, the Huckleberry Shake from the Jackson Lake Lodge is a party in your mouth. It is a sweet, thick, creamy, "cake batter meats berry" taste that is one of a kind super fun treat. My husband and I split one and that was good because it is so rich and creamy that neither one of us could have finished it ourself. So this shake and this stop was notable along our journey. Not stopping for a huckleberry shake is like not stopping to take a peek at the largest ball of twine...you gotta do it once and these small nuggets are what make a road trip memorable and fun! It might not be to everyone's liking, but it's sugar and its huckleberry...come on now. And if you have a minute to enjoy a shake, despite having a chocolate and vanilla option on the menu, I say you try the Huckleberry, because when are you ever going to be on this stretch of road again.

Brenda G.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! It gives me Mel's Diner vibes! The avocado toast was perfection and my husband and I shared a huckleberry pancake just to try it. Very yummy!

Helena Q.

Yelp
The huckleberry shake (9$) was pretty good, though only very lightly huckleberry flavored. Definitely on the lighter and thinner side, which is my preference. On the other hand, the buffalo burger (21$) was mediocre and dry. The side of fries were okay, mostly crisp, but kinda tough. The shake while sitting in the area just outside to look at the mountains would be my recommendation!

Melinda S.

Yelp
If you would like to wait over an hour and not get what you ordered this is the perfect spot. Lost our order when they weren't even busy, then after an hour told us they were out of half of what we ordered. Full of idiots

Casey B.

Yelp
Have you ever been somewhere and wondered if the occurrence you're watching unfold is actually rocket science? After two separate dine in experiences at the Pioneer Grill, I'm left only to assume that waitressing and food service might actually be rocket science. Our first visit, I would argue, was far more complicated in requests than our second visit which consisted of the following: two orders of eggs over medium on toast. We thought that it might be possible to procure the basics: toast and eggs. Alas, rocket science. As per usual in National Parks, pickins are slim. Keep your expectations low. Be wary of the eggs. Keep your order as simple as possible.

Jamie B.

Yelp
We were really excited to try this place as it has so much history and such a beautiful location, but like all food we had at both Grand Tetons and Yellowstone lodges, the food was mediocre at best. I feel bad for families that have to pay such high prices for not so great food.

Kirt V.

Yelp
We went here for lunch today. I had the huckleberry ice cream. Great. Others had the chicken tenders and fries and chili dog and fries.

Leslie L.

Yelp
Overall was pretty average, but a great option for breakfast if you're camping and too lazy to cook up your own breakfast. We got some coffee, tea and huckleberry pancakes. Some pieces were unfortunately undercooked towards the center. On the bright side you can relax in the beautiful Jackson Lake Lodge lobby afterwards.

Jaime R.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that this restaurant enhanced our vacation experience at the grand Tetons. It is a classic diner, style restaurant with countertops in the shape of you and stools surrounding the counters. The waiter walks in in the middle of the U to serve you. The food is your classic diner, type food, but it is slightly different. It tastes more fresh and made to order. The ingredients are spot on. We ate here for lunch and two breakfasts. The lunch was a delicious hamburger and the fries are crispy. The breakfast was a very large pancake so be careful if you order those three pancakes or even two, I had the huckleberry on one day and a chocolate chip on the next the sausages are large links, and very good, the coffee is the Lavazza brand and delicious. They have plenty of baked goods and cakes that seem to change every day. The best part of the restaurant, though is the staff, one waiter in particular named Bobby is a wonderful human being and the epitome of a waiter. He takes the time to get to know you and the children. He goes above and beyond to make sure your experience there is memorable. He handed out joke books and sketch pads to draw on. He blew bubbles for a toddler and brought a smile to her face. He is a genuinely friendly person. If you ever go to the Pioneer Grill, be sure to sit in the second to the last u shaped countertop. You will not be disappointed.

Jacob h.

Yelp
I don't usually leave reviews but Bobby was so great I just had to. Bobby had the diner sing happy birthday for our daughter, made sure the kids had their food first, and hung up the pictures they colored. Great service and a great person. I don't know if Bobby will see or read this but thank you!!

Ryan C.

Yelp
Food was quite mundane and overpriced. Why can't the national parks have decent restaurants? Just came down from Yellowstone and it's no better. Wife and I had the brisket sandwich and is was fatty, chewy, and mostly bread. Not good.

Matthew A.

Yelp
Had breakfast and dinner here. Dinner was meh. Breakfast was even more meh. Dinner - out of French fries. Food was ok. Breakfast - Biscuits and gravy had a strange after taste - citrus? My guess is that it is spoiled cream. Someone ordered the huckleberry pancakes which were good. I ordered an avocado toast to replace my biscuits and gravy - it was much better! Sat down and under the coffee cups was a massive pile of cream that got all over me. Service is 8/10 - the reason for the second star. Vibe is "bright cafeteria".ood for groups. Sad to see this place go downhill.

Rebecca H.

Yelp
Food was good, not as good as it was 10 years ago (miss their Mac n cheese). Good value for the park, quick and easy if you are looking for that type of food. Love the old diner feel. Always come back when in the park.

Anthony V.

Yelp
Nice old school diner in Yellow Stone's Jackson Lake Lodge. People are friendly and the food comes out of the kitchen quickly. The food is good and I would recommend the poutine.

Sophia T.

Yelp
Food is rather mediocre at best, and the wait times are much, much longer than expected, even for a single milkshake we ended up waiting nearly 30 minutes. Also the glasses with lemonade is dirty.

Alison B.

Yelp
Meh. Limited menu and unwilling to make any menu changes. Poor quality food. For example... Caesar salad was a prepackaged salad with packet of Krqft dressing. Hot Dog was ok but the bunnit came on was rock hard. Only redeeming thing was that the kids liked the French fries. All else wasn't good. Way below expectations for a hotel property of this size.

Maren B.

Yelp
We ordered shakes one night and breakfast one morning from this restaurant, neither were very good. The shakes seemed like they were made from soft serve and had fake whipped cream (the oily kind). Not what you'd expect for what they're charging (I think they were about $6 each!) Breakfast wasn't any better. Their estimated wait time was 17-28 mins and I got a message 5 mins after I ordered saying our order was ready. Well I wasn't ready because I thought I had 10 more minutes to get there. By the time I hustled over to pick up the order our food was cold. We ordered the breakfast burrito and oatmeal. The burritos had over-fried tater-tots for the "potatoes". The onions and peppers were barely detectable. The burritos mostly went in the trash. The oatmeal was an unusual texture--thick and overcooked. The blueberries that came with the oats were the only good part of the meal. Pack your own food and save your money, there aren't many options nearby Jackson Lake Lodge (Jackson is a 30-40 min drive).

D J.

Yelp
For the location, this place is a definite pass. Always seems to be out of menu items and the food is not fresh. The reason for no substitutions is that the food is pre made and just packaged up. Chicken sandwich was dried out, soup and salad were decent but disappointing because what we really wanted they were out of. If we knew that beforehand, we would have passed entirely.

Randy C.

Yelp
Had the French dip brisket, not very good a lot of fat and overcooked. Priced high for the quality of the food. But, you are a captive audience because there's nothing else for miles.

Ed M.

Yelp
While we were touring the Teton National Park we stopped in for some lunch. What a pleasant surprise to see the Grill was laid out like a 50's - 60's diner. Our server, Cassie, was great. My Ice Tea was never empty and the service was great. My only gripe was that my fries were cold. If y'all haven't figured me out yet, my hot food needs to be HOT, not warm. Other than that, the place was very clean and I would go there again. Please ask for Cassie. My Bison Burger was cooked right, hot and tasted great!!!

Robert F.

Yelp
I've always dined at the Mural Room, but my first time here was excellent. Everyone at the restaurant was attentive and friendly. The male server from the Bahamas deserves great recognition. The portions are large and full of flavor, especially the chicken Caesar wrap.

Anthony E.

Yelp
Friendly, fast service & decent prices, located in a beautiful lodge. We had the French Dip, Bison Burger, and Caesar Salad -- all three were generous servings. I cannot complain at all!

Michael H.

Yelp
Has dropped in quality of food and service. Need to return to shredded potatoes for breakfast and get rid of current breakfast potatoes

Morgan S.

Yelp
LOVED this place. I got the bison burger and chili. Was so delicious. I'm super picky with burgers and chili since I'm from TX. Definitely will be returning here when back in town!

S M.

Yelp
Tasty, fresh food. Accommodating for medical dietary needs. We enjoyed both our dinners here. The manager helped ensure that my need for gluten free food (celiac) was met and I was safe. Very appreciative of that! The Sage Tomato soup is awesome. Definitely recommend that if they have it on menu.

April B.

Yelp
Fantastic service and a gluten free items! I had a Turkey bacon melt with Huckleberry jam and it was divine! Ice tea was refreshing and service was great, once it was established we liked lemons in our tea, they were available with refills! I had to go to the gift shop to purchase some Huckleberry jam to take home!

Ava D.

Yelp
Good food overall. The burger was okay. The dusty glacier was delicious. I recommend the BLT it was very good. Customer service was great we were served by Kara and she was very friendly.

Khaled A.

Yelp
A decent place for quick lunch if you are staying in or near the lodge. You seat yourself at this place in one of the counters. Yes the restaurant consist only of chairs beside counters no regular table available. The menu is huge, although the main entrees are only available after 5pm. I went with the Cobb salad with salmon. The portion was big and the salmon was warm and ! My wife went with the tuna melt and she was happy with her choice. For dessert we went with the mount Owen which consist of three scoops of vanilla ice cream between two giant cookies that are covered with fudge and whipped cream. Obviously given the amount of sugar this dish has it was good but not amazing sadly. First the cookies were really hard which made breaking it up a lot of work. They should have melted the cookie first to get a better texture. Also the fudge wasn't as heavy and warm as you would have imagine, it was very standard supermarket stuff. Anyways good place if you are in the area and don't have a plan given the variety in their menu.

Ki M.

Yelp
Great food. Nicer servers. Only question. What's with the plastic cups given when you dine in? Even tho there's a sustainable sign in the front, while they are recycling them (hopefully) recycling isn't even that good of a solution. Especially when you can just reuse glass cups with washes. Strange . I think they should rethink this

Brittany S.

Yelp
You can't beat the charm of National Park eating establishments. They are chock full of charm, sub par food and smiling faces. The same goes for Pioneer Grill near the south entrance of Yellowstone (great location after a visit to the Tetons). The ice cream and desserts were piled high and everyone looked like they were wrapping up a rewarding day with Mama Nature. The Grill itself is contently frozen in time - maybe 1972? 1968? Either way, I like it. Bring on the wrap around counters, dessert displays, open kitchen, heavy comfort food and vinyl high top seating. As for our order, in true Yellowstone fashion, I opted for the bison burger that automatically comes with an order of fries. My partner-in-crime had the egg/bacon/cheese sandwich (quite delicious) also with fries. My advice is to skip the fries as a side and opt for something else. They were on the mushy side and the alternatives seemed lighter and more refreshing alongside a beefy bison burger. Oh, the burger, yes, it was tasty. You can have it served with Swiss, pepper jack or cheddar cheese. Unfortunately, there is no view of the Tetons from this dining room, but you're only a few feet away from the lodge lobby that boasts jaw-dropping views.

Curt W.

Yelp
We tried the diner our first day for dinner during our 3 day stay at Tetons in late sept 2022. We went back 3 more times. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. It is a diner menu but what they serve is very good and fresh. Reasonable prices for in the park lodge. We even got up early when leaving Yellowstone so we could stop here for breakfast one more time before hopping on the plane at Jackson. Highly recommend.

Stephanie R.

Yelp
Only option within miles of the lodge so you take what you can get. But if you have an option to bring your own, you'll be happier. They have a slim menu and refuse to make any adjustments. So eating every meal out of a box without enjoying what you order is really disappointing. Oh. And since there are mice warnings in your rooms, you're better off eating on the patio in front of the dining hall.
