My husband recently stayed at Southwick Acres which was a good experience. But once they closed for the season he moved up to Sodom mountain Campground. There were only five Rv's there when he got there. The space they wanted him to move to was unavailable as promised. They put him in a temporary spot andnever told him that he needed to move because he would loose power in that spot until the Friday before the Monday they had scheduled to turn the power off. He had just taken his truck in for repairs so was unable to move it since it requires the special tow hook-up. In the mean time, the Oct, 2011 snowstorm hit and all power and water was lost for over a week, and still no truck so he could get out. By this time there was only one other camper there. He was very nice and shared generator power with my husband while he was home. But, it was very cold and difficult, no cooking, showers, heat, etc. generator power only allowed for lights and TV. All hot.els, motels we booked and he was stuck. Parking for this area is outside a fenced area so every time he came or went he had to walk to his truck. They had locked the gate that allows easier access to his vehicle. At times he had to walk out to his truck just to warm up. On the day tree workers were there to remove damaged and fallen trees, he drove in and parked next to his RV to unload groceries. . After paying rent on time every month since June,, never causing a problem, the owners daughter came out and told him to get his truck out of there. She said she didn't want the roads wrecked. Really? From one truck? My husband explained that he is handi-capped and a Viet-nam vet,. and he was very tired and cold. She told him she didn't care! If he didn't like it he could get out. This is NOT the way to treat our war veterans! And in a natural disaster!. Shame on her. One star for Sodom Mountain Campground. I think the owner should not allow her daughter to interact with guests. She is rude, inconsiderate, and lacks compassion.
