Pioneers is at Perry’s Bridge which is a popular spot. The setup was good and the food tasty. The service however left a lot be desired… We wandered about, like many other customers trying to get any attention for anybody about seating or menus or just about anything We all just wandered about and found menus behind the counter and went and found seats The wait was >40mins for food

Visited Pioneer's Grill for the reason of enjoying crocodile steak. Unfortunately, no crocodile. Also, no Kudu steak. No Beyerskloof Pinotage. Not a good start to a Supper. Excellent service. Wine is well priced. Interesting, printed menu in a newspaper format. I enjoyed the Springbuck Carpaccio. My husband's pototato skins for a starter was tasty too. My husband's spare ribs weren't really as expected. Very little meat. Pap & Sheba was welcomed. My fillt with pepper sauce was unfortunately not medium rare, as requested. However, enjoyed it with mash. Hope to find venison next time.

I took my wife for dinner on her birthday on the 28th Dec as we came to hazy view on vacation, we waited for about 5min before being attended to we almost left till a gentleman came to our assistance, we waited for over an hour for our food, my wife’s food was fine. I bought the carnivore which cost about R350 it was suppose to come with onion rings, sautéed mushrooms and potato wedges, when my food arrived it had 3 small onion rings, 3 tiny mushrooms with no potato wedges when I asked they brought four oily half potatoes, burnt to the tee, I don’t know if they used old car oil or what it was just disgusting, I refused to pay for my order. I payed for my wife’s order and the beer I ordered and left. The worst birthday experience for us in a restaurant. Disappointment is an understatement. Sies

Great time! The waitress was really nice! We have some laughs together Food was quick (normally takes ages everywhere) served and it was delicious. We ordered the Pioneer's burger and a pepper steak. Desserts can be improved, especially the red velvet as didn't taste like red velvet

Most disgusting service ever. Waiters need training on how to deal with irate customers. When someone is not happy with they meal I would think a waiter would try and mitigate the situation instead of getting defensive and escalating an already frustrating situation. Tip: if you manage an establishment never approach a customer that's not happy with their meal with the first sentence , "You can have it for free" ,it screams: I'm not even trying to understand I just think you want a free meal! Not the kind of service I expected at all. I wish I had read the reviews before deciding to eat here, seems the place has a reputation for serving raw,inedible food, no wonder they got so defensive, it's a norm!

AWFUL! There were no clean tables , we were sat at a table and no one brought us menues. No one even helped us after we were sat by a server ! SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE!!! We were here back in 2024 and it was an amazing experience, but now I'll never set foot here again !

There were 5 adults and 3 kids. The waitress was great, but the food was not only inedible it was served raw. We had 4 different cuts of meat, all were served raw. I got grilled onions and mushrooms, they were served in separate bowls, which is fine, I tell you that for distinction. The onions were ok, undercooked, no seasoning. The mushrooms were awful, they were not cooked with butter, garlic or any other seasoning. 4 of the 5 adults didn't finish their dinner.
