Pipin's Pub

The bar/restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn since 1969. The current location is very modern. They prepare American cuisine. The front has a nice bar and several tables. The back has tables for dining in with servers. Soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, entrees, burgers, desserts and beverages are available. I ordered the Pipin's cheeseburger deluxe that included french fries, pickle with lettuce and tomato upon request. The food was very good and well-prepared.

Nice dinner spot. Haven't been to Pipins in this location - we frequented the former location many years ago and the burgers held great memories for us. They didn't hit quite the same here but the appetizers were yummy especially the giant pretzel and zucchini sticks. Attentive waitstaff. Major sports games on the TVs. Nice visit all in all.

This is not your everyday pub - very upscale - and completely unexpected. Great decor, great atmosphere, clean restrooms. The service is absolutely phenomenal and the prices are reasonable. They have different specials every night. Their burgers are great, juicy and cooked exactly as ordered - my only reservation is that I'd have loved to see "real" authentic cheddar in the burger not a cheese sauce . Would definitely eat here again.

Place looks more like fine dining than a bar/pub. Food was good, new look but a little dark. Waiter was a little rude, we paid in cash and he came running out to us saying we didn’t pay enough to realize he made a mistake because it was too dark and he couldn’t see the bill amount correctly! This place got really good reviews, so I’m thinking it was an off night. We ordered takeout: Two hamburgers: one with cheddar cheese and sautéed onions with fries, and the other blue cheese with sweet potato fries and a side of onion rings. Both fries and onion rings were poorly cooked. The oil temperature seemed inadequate to provide the desired crispy texture to the fries and onion rings; instead, they turned out greasy and practically inedible. The burger had a funny taste and the blue cheese looked like a glob slapped on as well, maybe fried in seed oil (known for being unhealthy and challenging to digest), added to the overall disappointment of the meal. In conclusion, my dining experience left me feeling disheartened and underwhelmed. Based on this encounter, I cannot claim to be a fan of this establishment and have reservations about returning in the future.

Horrible service, young female waitress has an ego problem. Bartender knew they messed up & tried giving us a free round of drinks. Don’t waste your time here. Bay ridge is filled with many options…. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED

Nice pub restaurant snuggled up in Bay Ridge. Has more of an upscale pub feel near the entrance wmthen opens into a restaurant. Nice ambience and good lighting. Staff was attentive for lunch. One mistake with drink order was quickly fixed. Burgers were good. Medium rare was cooked nicely. Fries were decent. A little pricey hit 5hat is expected with the area and the look of the restaurant. I'd go back again.

Had a great dinner experience here last night, a Saturday. We had burgers (Gaelic and Barbecue) which were perfectly cooked and large, with delicious ingredients. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The place is lively, with games on screens all around the front room where we were seated, but it wasn't too loud to have conversation. We were able to substitute simple iceberg salads for fries (which looked great but we are trying to control ourselves). Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a pub.

Though I've been to the previous locations of Pipin's Pub over the years, last night was the very first time that I managed to sit down and enjoy the new location. Historically speaking, the original Pipin's Pub was in the high 90's in Bay Ridge but the building being building to a developer found them moving to some tight quarters only a couple of blocks from my house. When the pizza/restaurant/bar down a few more blocks closed up shop, it became the perfect spot for the new Pipin's Pub. Spatially speaking the bar seems bigger than the original location and the dining room is probably twice the size of what they used to have. I am sure that they will succeed here based on the ability to parse the place into two sections. Dining in the back and the sporting events up at the bar space. So a friend and I popped in to have some early dinner, it was a last minute but great suggestion since I was so curious. I had not been in the second Pipin's for some time as I no longer drink and based on financial constraints I cannot be doing a whole lot of dining out. With this being a new experience I was excited. We were sat quickly as it was early and our waiter was attentive and friendly. We both ordered cheeseburgers but mine was the Pipin's branded one and I think my friend had the crunchy burger. That meant their were fried onions on them. We also split some hot chicken tenders which were wonderful in addition to the burgers. Each order came with fries and to be honest there could have been a few more of those. They were big steak fries though so that is a plus. There is an open WiFi to snag onto if you like to have that to get your Yelps in draft mode faster. Overall I think this was a solid experience and I will be going again when the means allow. If you are using the MTA this restaurant is only a few short blocks away from the 86th Street R train station.

Great local bar, came to watch a Mets game and sat at the bar. John and Jen were great. It was nice to see John and Jen greet the regulars. My honey is originally from the area but it's been about 10+ years since he's moved out of state and misses places like this with the local charm. I ordered the spinach and dip and it was perfect with the beer. Nice beer and alcohol selection and I can't wait to try their other food. Can't wait to come back!

Wanted to try this place for awhile and it did not disappoint . Very nice new locations with a nice menu. Drinks were delicious . Wings were yummy and steak sandwich was so tender and tasty. Funnel cake fries and coffee to finish were the perfect dessert. Def going back to try the burgers as my boys tell me they're really good .

Pipin's never fails to please. I sat down right away. The waiter came over and took my drink order. A margarita on the rocks with salt. I then had the Irish burger cooked medium. The bun was amazing and the French Fires were so good. The price was right, the food was great, the staff was professional, and the place was clean. Definitely check them out.

All I'm going to say is best cheddar burger anywhere. We had a meeting in brooklyn last week and I told my buddies I had a place for them to try. Mondays any burger is $11. We started with the big pretzel and wings. They all loved the wings were meaty and grilled. The portion for an order and a half is also really good as wing prices are through the roof. If you like cheddar you need to try this burger, not sure where they get it from but nothing comes close. The meat is also fresh and you are not getting some frozen patty. My buddies already said they would like to come back soon

One of my favorite spots to order a bacon cheddar burger! Burgers are always cooked well, fries are nice golden and always good with a pickle! Washed down with a brew while watching the game at the bar! Staff is awesome and cool! Always consider if it's game night or weekend- good food takes time!

Fellow Yelpers, If I could only give a zero star on this lowdown cutthroat business, clearly I would. My review of this place is very honest and forthcoming. The food is really deplorable and sickening not only its appearance, greasy, taste bad as well. NYC Department of Health' has by chance read my review and therefore, contacted me, twice. I was messaged on Yelp' for description of how badly I was affected physically. I became quite sick for 5 hours. Nausea, stomach cramps. I suffered food poisoning from possibly rancid meat that Pipin's Pub' sent me, on June 18, 2024. Yes, I reported to a guy named Ryan' who abused me, and laughed. The owner is on the offense because other former customers, have complained and were mistreated by Paul." If I don't receive some sort of apology for his abusive attitude and lies. I am considering retaining a lawyer, for slander of my good character! With that being said I'd like to thank all those who have read my story and shown much understanding and compassion, in their private messages. Again, thanks so much for reading and supporting my blog.' Most of Bay Ridge' has some great restaurants and nicer entrepreneurs' Owners' that have integrity and a definitely more class. Beware - unless you are thin and white. My husband and I have dined at both pipins and Chadwick's for a few years now. We had such a disappointing experience at pipins upon our last visit, we were physically pushed out by a man who said we were not fit to dine there (there were many patrons at the bar wearing less clothing than us, we got the message loud and clear.) so shocking to see this from this team. Obviously we will not be back as we understand we aren't welcome and now know the kind of patrons they are exclusively looking for.

First time going to Pipins with my wife and two kids.. besides the food being great.. the service of one waiter was terrible! Never have I felt forgotten and excluded from a restaurant.. while everyone else was made sure that they had gotten refills consistently and was made sure that they were taken care of.. we constantly gotten passed by.. I had to raise my hand multiple times just for a different waiter to come by and help us and apologize that my kids were left with empty cups ... terrible service for us!! Not sure if it had to do with us being HISPANIC.. becuase he was also tending to the table next to us and behind us.. The waiter made sure to fill their drinks multiple times without them asking him and still by passed us!!!! Such a horrible experience that I had ! Especially since i had my family with me . It was a different vibe when it came to us compared to others.. ruined our night!

One of the best burgers in NYC with great service and great ambiance. Good old fashioned pub with an updated pub vibe

We ordered thick potatoe skins, burgers and steak sandwich. The potatoe skins were not cooked. They were hard and not enjoyable at all. The burgers was good. The steak sandwich was rubbery and some parts were not cooked. Sorry, but your food is not good anymore. This is the last time we are ordering from Pippins as they are not consistent with their food, and for the prices they charge it should be good food all of the time.

The food as always fresh and delicious Best burgers, delicious salads. But most of all great atmosphere and lovely staff. The owner's are very friendly and down to earth people. Wishing them all the best at there new location. My family's favorite spot.

Best fries. Burgers have gone a bit downhill..either rhe ingredients or the chef. They were much better at the former Pippins. Was disappointed with the salmon. Dry dry. We ordered a lot of food. It was just ok, this time.

Pipins is my number 1 spot of all dining in Brooklyn. If you don't want a burger, go for the sandwiches. And also the menu expanded.

They've moved to 4 locations and nothings changed. Average burger nothing really fresh on the menu and nothing new. Servers are amateur and $8 for draft beer, seriously!! No surprise I won't be back.

I came here the same day it was the BAYRIDGE St. Patrick's day Parade. It was crowded, but welcoming. We waited 10 minutes and we're seated without having a reservation. Every thing we ordered was delivered fast and was delicious. Our server had humor and patience. I'd definitely order the wings, and onion rings. Luckily they also had corned beef and cabbage plates.

Stopped in over the weekend . As I was sitting at the bar the hostess gave an " attitude " to 2 Women who wanted to sit in the back . I know the place was crowded but no excuse . Also , it became crowded in the back with only one waitress on duty during the week . The waitress really tried her best . Next we had an employee in a pippins sweatshirt hanging around our table for really no good reason this is before it became crowded . Also annoying. What was he doing ? Food was so - so at best Improve please don't take steady clientele for granted .

Great service. Great food! Try the wings. Can't go wrong. The staff is very friendly and are right there when you need something. Management as well always checking in.

Good burger. Typical bar fare. Neighborhood staple in a new location. Pints are poured well and beer is cold. Can't ask for much more

My only complaint is that they don't deliver on weekends! Everything they make tastes good! I have never had a bad dish from them and I have tried many things on the menu. Good sized portions as well.

Pipin's looks live a dive bar on the inside. If black is your color, then you are at home here Their wings are different, in a good way. Fried and grilled, but some wings saw too much of the grill; too much char. Pipin's burger solid not special. Service was gruff, not always polite. Monday lunch, not crowded. Nothing to be stressed over

Great place. An institution in the neighborhood for the magnificent burgers, wings and fantastic bartenders and clientele.

Love this place. The food is not pretentious but it is reliable pub grub. We always have a good time here. We have the opportunity to dine outdoors more often than not: The staff dote over my little boy. Brid and Cindy are our favorite people.

Food was very good on the most part. Brian was great. He remembers us from another restaurant a couple of doors down. We were surprised. This was lunch hour. Brian recommended the burger specials so we took him up on it. The atmosphere was good. The place was fairly busy and he was the only waiter on duty. Great job Brian !!!

Had lunch there today with friends we were a total of eight senior citizens they put us in a small hot room we could barely move when we asked to be moved up front they gave us a hard time. We did not feel welcomed when we first arrive there were only six of us they told us if the other two did not show up for a table of eight we will have to pay for eight people. The hamburgers were good the waitress was very nice but she also refused to give us separate checks. We go for lunch every Thursday each restaurant we've gone to they have given us separate checks without complaining. I would never go back to this restaurant nor would I recommend it. If you enjoy a hamburger go to skin Flint the service and atmosphere is 100% better and people are kind.

I used to live a few blocks away from here years ago and I'm genuinely surprised I had never been. Mostly because my sister and I when we lived together would go on "Bayridge bar crawls" to find in earnest hopes the most normal pub to have a drink in or the best deal in the hood. Anyway, this one slipped through our fingers but its been around forever. It really has that old Irish pub charm but without coming across as a seedy old man pub. It's cozy and homey as long as 22-year-olds that don't know how to handle their liquor don't hit on you and ask if they can wrap their arm around you. Boy, I have cooties. No. They don't have anything particularly special drink-wise. I think my friend convinced me into getting a special margarita the bartender makes which sounds heinous because why in hell would one drink a margarita in an Irish pub? But it was solid. I don't even like margaritas too much. Really great proper pour on their Guinness. I ordered a side of french fries and they asked me what style I would like. This makes me want to wipe away a tear because no one ever asks me what cut or style of fries I would like. So I went with the best next to curly - OBVIOUSLY steak thick cut fries. Hello. "Would you like cheese with that?" "Am I human?" You guys are seriously great at your jobs. Yes, steak fries slathered with cheese, please.

Come here for a real burger! Great quality and nice place to sit down with the family. All the burgers are handmade and give you your moneys worth. The hand cut fries they serve is the cherry on top!

Classic Irish pub with shamrocks all over the place. Very nice waitstaff. The food was way above average. The chicken wings were cooked perfectly. The ribs were OK. The burger was top 10 burger. The meat had a bit of funk on it. It was cooked perfectly. The cheese and bacon were great. I'm usually not a squishy bun fan, but this one worked perfectly with this burger . This place is a bargain. I'm sorry this place is in Bay Ridge, otherwise I would be a regular.

Love Pipin's pub! Best burgers and the fries are to die for! So glad they bought them back. This is the 3rd location so that's how long we're been coming here..Friendly service , great food and drinks.Definitely one of my favorites!

Use to be a go to spot, though now it's just stereotypical bar food. So I stopped coming but decided to try it again. Ordered for pickup. Yelp says 8.95 for a chicken wrap but I remember it being 13.01 because I would always make sure to have exactly that. Get there and was charged 17.49 for the same exact dish that use to be 13.01. No added fries or anything, exactly the same. Looked at a picture of a menu on here that was uploaded a year ago and it says it 12.95. I guess they increased their prices by 4.50$. Food was mediocre, was hoping to pick this spot back up as a weekly spot but nope the search continues. Maybe I'll try again in a few years.

My boyfriend and I stopped in to get a bite to eat and a few drinks towards the end of "Boost Bay Ridge". Which the organizers described as "supporting Bay Ridge businesses with another fun, safe and friendly outdoor gathering in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn." I ordered the Woodstock sandwich and the BF got the ahi tuna salad. Of course I got a jack Daniels and coke to compliment my meal and it was a very generous amount of whiskey The place was slammed because of the event as far as people ordering their food and the orders coming in on the phone. There was one person dealing with both and I have to give him a huge thumbs up for not losing his cool because some of the patrons were a little worse for wear especially by the time we came in at the end of the day. Anyway on to the food. My sandwich was perfectly proportioned, they definitely did not skimp on the chicken and the bread was very crispy and slightly toasted. And the steak fries.. OMG these would definitely not frozen!! The ahi tuna salad was very fresh and very colorful. Just the right amount of dressing. It looks absolutely delicious and I'm thinking I would order that next time I go here. Because there will be a next time. The service was very efficient and as I said, the person taking all order was under stress, clearly but very professional. The bartenders were friendly. Definitely recommended!

Haven't been here in a while but was glad I finally did. They made some changes to the menu but the food is still just as good. My wife is very happy to see they added the beyond burger which according to her was the best she ever had. Very good service as well. Will be returning soon.

Let me start with what most people want to see. The food is very good, but the wings are the best. I'm a wing nut. (I don't mean like the thing that goes on a bolt. I mean I love wings.) The wings here are phenomenal. They aren't Buffalo wings, per se. The sauce is more a blend of Buffalo and BBQ. It is good. But what really makes them great is that they are flash-fried and grilled. That means that they stay moist. Just trust me. I'm a chubby boy which means I know my food. (The burgers and steaks are good, too, but I can't rate those like I can rate the wings. As they say in the south, the wings will want to make you slap yo' momma! Of course, please don't actually slap your mother. That is not nice.) Now let's talk atmosphere. This isn't a crowded college bar where you go to find a hookup. This is a nice wholesome place where you can have a conversation without feeling pressured to keep buying drinks to keep the party going. The bartenders tend to be 50+ which means that they are there because they know how to make drinks and not for their looks (not that they are ugly, but you know what I mean). Even though there is a quiet atmosphere, there are 10 televisions and they will play whatever you want them to play for you (so long as they have access to the channel). If you're watching a NY team, they will likely cheer right along with you. If you look at my history of reviews, you'll see that it is rare that I give 5 stars. That has to be earned. I'm happy to be able to give it to Pipin's today.

Best honey fried chicken in Bay ridge. Meal comes with salad, potato and vegetables for $15. Staff is amazing, service is fantastic, environment is totally comfortable.

After great discussion outside of the restaurant, we decided to go in and try the "new" Pipin's across from the Foodtown. We hadn't been in Pipin's for many years and my husband and I were both hesitant about how the quality of food would be. First, the restaurant is very dark inside and awkward layout. But, whatever...we knew we were going out for fine dining. Server was a little cold at first, but slowly warmed up and became quite nice. Our experience with the food quality...delicious...my husband had a cheddar burger, which was cooked exactly as he ordered. I had the 9 ounce shell steak, which was also cooked exactly as I ordered. It was actually, surprisingly delicious. Charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside. The steak came with a house salad (very fresh), side of potato of your choice (I had the mashed potatoes - yes they were real) and broccoli (a little too salty). Everything was up to par and well worth the visit. We would definitely go back, as it is still as we remember the original Pipin's so long ago...maybe even a little better. Best thing - the bill wasn't even $40! YES - recommended!

This place is my favorite place. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is incredible and they have specials you cannot find anywhere in the city. I listed my favorites below. Wednesday night steak special $22 -20oz ribeye with salad, potato, crispy onions, and vegetables. And the steak is delicious rivaling some of the best steakhouses in the area. Thursday night wing special. $5 for 10 wings. These are actually my favorite wings anywhere . I order them hot but be careful they are not for the timid. They are HOT but delicious. These are nice big wings cooked perfectly. An amazing deal that everyone should go try. Thank you pippins

Delicious! They have a great appetizer selection and one of the best burgers in Brooklyn. We got the potato skins, chicken tenders and spinach dip (my favorite was the spinach dip), and I got the brunch burger which was delicious. They also have bottomless brunch on Sundays!

I love the chicken wings in this place. Not super spicy or dry, just the way the suppose to be. Service was great, we had a nice and caring waiter who was always checking on us. I ordered burger for main course as well and the only thing I want to ask: does it really should be just beef and bun? No tomatoes, onions or anything else? If someone reads this and knows the answer, pleeeeese, let me know. I would recommend this place to my friends and definitely coming back again.
