The ride was okay—nothing extraordinary, just fine. Honestly, does it justify waiting more than 30 minutes? Absolutely not. The experience itself is decent, but not something that will blow you away or make you want to ride it again. That said, I still recommend putting it on your list, if only for the bragging rights of saying, “I’ve done it.” It’s one of those attractions that feels more like a checklist item than a must-do thrill, but sometimes that’s part of the fun.

Great ride! You might get a tiny bit wet but its not much. The ride has colder weather conditions so it's good if your hot! I wouldn't wait an hour in line for it but its definitely good!

A relaxing chill ride. Similar to the movie but different from the original at Disneyland. It's been cleaned up for today's norms?

I felt like I was dreaming or if it was a product of my imagination. My favorite ride at Magic Kingdom. The wait is a bit long, but it's worth it. It's completely immersive—the sounds, the smells—everything comes together to make you feel like you're in a time when there were pirates. Jack Sparrow only appears twice, like other characters, but that doesn't matter. It's truly incredible. It's the closest thing to being in a dream, or if you were reading a book about pirates and imagining it all. Every time I go I want to get on at least twice. By the way, the store is amazing.

No words can describe this ride! It’s the best and absolutely worth the ticket. A must-try for everyone!

A legendary voyage through cannon fire, cursed treasure, and rum-soaked mischief. The atmosphere is rich, the animatronics impressively lifelike, and the storytelling unmatched. From the moment your boat drifts into the shadows, you’re part of the tale. A must for every swashbuckling soul — this ride is pure gold.

This was a super cool part of the park for people of all ages who like the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. We got some food there and did see Captain Jack Sparrow interacting with the guests. Nice gift shops too

Best ride in Magic Kingdom! Magic Kingdom is not my favorite Disney World park, but what keeps me coming back is Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Both are such wonderful attractions I cannot wait to ride them every time I walk into Magic Kingdom! There is a small hill in the dark, but my infant slept right through it, TWICE! So don't let that deter you!

Pirates of the Caribbean in Walt Disney World is a ride so iconic it doesn't need a sales pitch--it just needs a cannon blast. Walt himself helped greenlight the original Disneyland version in 1967, but he never lived to see it open. When Disney World launched in 1971, Imagineers initially didn't even plan to build it (they figured Florida was already pirate country). Guests revolted, and by 1973, Orlando got its own version. So yes, Pirates here is technically an afterthought--but it's the best afterthought since champagne was invented by accident. Now, let's address the obvious: Orlando's ride is shorter than Disneyland's. California's swashbuckling epic is a two-act opera of cannon smoke and debauchery. Florida? It's the Reader's Digest edition. It's Pirates Lite--less rum, more family-friendly cardio. And because Florida is a swamp, they couldn't go underground like Disneyland. Instead, you go up before you go down. Because in Florida, the only thing scarier than pirates is the water table. Still, when that boat launches and you drift past the burning town, the jail scene, the auction (revised from its original "wench-chasing" chaos)--the magic is undeniable. Yeah, I remember when drunken pirates chased women around in circles. Now the roles are flipped, and honestly, the pirates never stood a chance anyway. The detail remains unmatched: glowing treasure caves, cannonballs whistling overhead, the smell of bromine and fake gunpowder hitting you like Eau de Disney. This ride doesn't just immerse you, it waterboards you in nostalgia. Orlando's Pirates may be shorter, but it's still longer than the average Florida marriage.. Forget Johnny Depp--the real star of Pirates has always been the dog with the jail keys. The wench-chasing scene may be gone, but trust me, the pirates are still the creeps your parents warned you about. Walt Disney World's Pirates may not match its California sister in length, but it's still a must-do. It's immersive, hilarious, slightly smoky, and packed with more charm than half the park combined. This isn't just a ride--it's a drunken, rowdy, swashbuckling history lesson with better music. Yo ho, yo ho--this life chose us all.

I enjoyed riding Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney World again recently, but for the first time as an adult. This is an incredibly popular and all-time classic ride, not just at Disney theme parks, but in the amusement park industry. It spawned a multi-billion dollar movie franchise, after all. At Disney, Universal, etc., I love the old-school rides with animatronics and practical special effects. They have a certain charm about them. The Disney World version of this ride opened at Magic Kingdom, in Adventureland, on December 15, 1973. The original version opened at Disneyland on March 18, 1967. I rode one or both of these versions when I was a kid back in 1989-1990. I think I enjoyed the ride more as an adult. Two other versions of this ride exist in Tokyo and Paris, making four total. A variation exists in Shanghai, but is different. The setting, the story, and of course, the music (from 1967) are whimsical and a lot of fun. "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me." In 2006, the ride was refurbished to incorporate characters from the film series that started in 2003, most notably with appearances from Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow. The ride has a distinct smell caused by bromine, which Disney uses to treat the water instead of chlorine. It's become such a signature part of the "practical effect" charm that you can actually buy candles that smell like "Pirate Water." You might get a few little splashes of water on you and there's one small dip during the ride. We had Lightning Lane passes for this ride just before noon on a non-holiday Monday. We experienced little to no wait.

I honestly cannot believe I have never reviewed this ride!!!! Being one of my husband's favorite rides / movie based rides, it's a must-do for us when we are in the park. While MK is not our 'go-to' park, mostly due to the sheer amount of time consumption it usurps getting in and out, there are so many classic rides we genuinely enjoy. My personal fave is Haunted Mansion, while his has always been and remains Pirates. Despite recent changes to the original, it is still plenty of fun, and keeps guests of any age engaged throughout. Overall: A+ Although it has been adapted through the years, it remains a classic must-do for Disney World.

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most ridden rides at Walt Disney World. Not sure if it's because it's a ride worth waiting on or if it's because of everyone's love for Johnny Depp as a sexy pirate. Similar to "It's a Small World", your voyage will take you on a boat ride with a song on replay. In this case, "A Pirate's Life for Me". My only gripe: wishing they added more Pirates of the Caribbean scenes to the ride!

Pirates of the Caribbean is an original Disney attraction. It is timeless and a classic ride you must go on when visiting Magic Kingdom. This ride is dark throughout the line as well as the entire ride. You ride in a boat and go through the Caribbean with different pirates. You will start near a deserted beach and then a small drop leads you to a battle between a pirate ship and fort. You might get wet during this part as there are canons going off all around you. Air pressure in the water shoots water up and sometimes it is very close to the boat. After that you are just going through the city and each scene is different. Basically, the pirates are taking over the city. The final scene is one of the most classic scenes, the pirates in jail trying to get the dog to bring the key to them. In recent years, they have added Johnny Depp's character, Jack Sparrow, to most of the scenes. During the entire ride, there is the catchiest song that is bound to get stuck in your head. "Yo Ho Yo Ho a pirate's life for me". This is so iconic, and a song I have been singing since I was a child! The ride is not scary at all, but it is in the dark. If your kids do not like dark rides, this might not be for them. Otherwise, it's a simple boat ride. The line can get pretty long, however, check back later if it is over 30 minutes. It usually has its ebbs and flows, and the wait is bound to get shorter throughout the day. The line is entirely covered and mostly inside so on hot or rainy days, you don't have to worry. The line itself is neat, there is a lot to look at while in line. I do have a few issues with this ride. First, it breaks down a lot. It's an older ride so it's bound to happen, it just seems like it is most days. I also think the cast members do a poor job of estimating the wait time. It could say 10 minutes and you end up waiting almost 30 or it can say 30 and you wait 10. I do wish it was more accurate at times. I suggest anything over a posted 30, don't bother, come back later. I also do not like how they load the boats. I understand from working in attractions in the past, that you have a quota to get through an hour. However, it would be nice if they "read" the party. They love jamming an entire group of 4 or 5 ADULTS in one row. It is not big enough; it is not long enough and wide enough. I have long legs, and my knees are always jammed into the seat in front of me. I usually ask for 2 rows when we have a bigger group or ask for the front if it is just myself and my husband. They also do weight out the boat accurately. And I know this is hard and probably impossible to do, but we have been on this ride many times, when our boat is so tilted I am level with the water. All adults on one side and children on the other, does not work. I do not want the water pouring into the boat because we are so tilted. Overall, though, this is a fun ride. We will always make time for the ride, yes even with the annoyances. It's fun, we love the movies and now we feel like we are in the movie. I have been riding this since I was a child, and it brings so many memories back. There is one small drop but overall, this is a pretty chill ride. There is a ride photo as well which is right before the drop. You will need to have a magic band in order to see the photo. I will always recommend this classic Disney ride to anyone!

This ride is even better than I remember it 10+ years later. We were able to lightening lane through the line and awaited our boat. Our whole group fit in, and it was so much fun. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face! Every twist and turn was more thrilling, and the scenes are spectacular, really fantastic details that have held up. The sky is so life like, I truly felt transformed. I wanted to ride it immediately again! Definitely worth the wait otherwise, it was so fun.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a timeless classic that never disappoints. From the moment you drift into the dark, mysterious waters, the immersive sets, detailed animatronics, and catchy "Yo Ho" theme song pull you right into the adventure. The mix of humor, action, and atmosphere makes it a must-ride every visit. It's a slower-paced attraction compared to some of the thrill rides, but that's part of its charm--it's pure Disney magic and a perfect break while still being tons of fun.

Iconic & classic. Great fit the entire family. You have to experience it at least once. It is a favorite of mine and a must do every single time. A good wait time is anything under 40. A typical wait is 60ish min. 90 min in not unusual but it is quite long. if you go during a popular time then this would not be unusual or unreasonable. Just some thoughts: 1. If t rains this does go down. It is supposed to be when there is lighting (similar to a pool) but often just in rain. 2. most of the queue is indoors and air conditioned. This is a good one for the hottest hours of the day to take a break (typically between 2-4) 3. if you go during the Halloween parties, there is often live actors in both the queue & ride Note for Parents: there is a very small "drop" in this one but it is just that. Very small. if you have very small children who may be spooked but this, I would suggest as a parents watching a POV on YouTube so you can gage if it too big, and if need be see where in the ride it is to pre-warn your child.

It's kind of hard to get good videos or photos while you're on the ride but I love it every time! It's entertaining and the big pirate ship is super cool

One of if not my favourite ride at Disney. They've made some slight changes over the years but still the same ride. I want to say this preluded the movie series. It's a boat ride so there's a slight chance you'll get wet but very slight and not much if you do. It's not a roller coaster but it does have a small drop. I've always tried to go on this ride multiple times whenever I'm at the park.

This has to be our favorite ride in the Magic Kingdom. It's the best theme of all. This was actually the last ride that Walt Disney helped in designing prior to his death. It's a classic! Also, the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise got its inspiration from this ride. Most of all, who can ever forget the singing of "A Pirate's Life for Me' by the Mellomen. There are sports teams that have adopted this song during their pregame show. We love the song and pirate theme here in Tampa Bay. However, there have been many changes to this ride. It does seem darker than cartoony, and it's now more in line with the movie franchise. The likeness of Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow is so lifelike in person. It's almost creepy that they even use his voice in the audio-animatronic character. There are a few small drops (or plunges), and you may get a little wet from water shooting from the right side of the boat. The famous Wicked Wrench in the battle scene is always the highlight of the ride. The only disappointment is that we didn't get to see the stinky foot pirate on the bridge. What happened to the hairy leg? We looked at the bridge and immediately knew something was missing. Please bring back that stinky foot pirate!!! It has always been the most nostalgic part of the ride. It's odd that they removed it. Perhaps it was removed for maintenance? Hopefully it's temporary. Thankfully they still had the prison dog with the key chain in his mouth. It would have been tragic if they removed that. A visit to the Magic Kingdom would be amiss without experiencing Pirates of the Caribbean.

"Yo Ho Yo Ho a pirate's life for me", Pirates of the Caribbean is an original Disney attraction and one of my favorite rides. It also boasts the catchiest tune, that you will find yourself singing by the end of the ride. This is a must do attraction when visiting Magic Kingdom. It is a dark ride throughout the que and the entire ride. You will be riding in a boat and going through different scenes all filled with pirates. This ride is on a flat track but does have one drop, and I will say, be prepared, you might get wet during this scene. One of the last scenes is probably the most photographed and iconic Pirates scene- the pirates in jail trying to get the dog to bring the key to them. In recent years, they have also added Johnny Depp's character, Jack Sparrow, to a few of the scenes. I don't believe the ride is scary, but I could see younger kids being afraid. It can get loud in certain parts, and the scene after the drop, there is a life size pirate ship with canons shooting water. The line can get pretty long, but there are times when it drops. I would say if the line states 30 minutes, go for it. If it is over 30 minutes, skip it and come back later. The line is also all completely covered, so perfect for those rainy days and for those super-hot days. My issues with this ride is the actual wait time. This has one of the highest capacities in the park, it is a continuous ride, they load very fast, so it's hard to understand why sometimes the line never moves. I also think the cast members do a not-so-great job of estimating the wait time. It might say 10 minutes, but you end up waiting 30 or it can say 30 and you wait 10. It's hard to estimate, I usually go off how far out in the first room, is the que. If it is not that full, the line is usually pretty good. I also don't understand how they load the boats. I understand from personally working in attractions in the past, there is a capacity quota each hour, and theirs is really high. However, it would be nice if they "look" the party. They love jamming an entire group of 4 or 5 ADULTS in one row. One time they put 5 of us, and one of our friends literally sat on our hips between my wife and I, because there was not enough room. It definitely did not feel safe. The rows are not long enough or big enough. My wife has long legs, and her knees are always smashed against the row in front of us. I also don't know how they could control this, but the boats get top heavy or side heavy. When all the kids are on one side and adults on the other, the boat tips. I have literally been level with the water which also did not feel too safe. I don't really know how that could be fixed, but I would think there is something they could do. I will say, don't be afraid to ask for 2 rows for your party. The cast members are usually very accommodating, you just need to ask. Overall, one of my favorite rides and one we will do each and every time we visit Magic Kingdom. I really love this ride even more in the summer, its dark, it's cool inside and it's really chill. You should check it out. ACES!

Such a great and classic ride. Unpopular opinion: I wish they never updated it with Johnny Depp and holograms. But I'm an elder millennial and that is my cross to bear. I loved watching my kids go on this with the one hill that they weren't expecting. It never gets old.

One of the best songs that I can never get out of my head during a Magic Kingdom's visit, Yo Ho Yo Ho, a Pirate's Life for Me! This is a must ride if it's your first time visiting Disney World. There is a replica ride in Disneyland California. I really enjoy the walk through queue line at Disney World though. It feels like you've been transported to the Pirates world! Pirates of the Caribbean originally opened in December, 1973 at Magic Kingdom Disney World. It's a classic, slow, dark, water ride which was inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland, California. The ride will take you through a thrilling journey. You'll see a variety of pirates, as you journey through the pirate infested Caribbean island. It's a water ride, so be prepared to get a little wet! You'll see epic battles between pirates and the fort. It's such an immersive experience! It's one of my favorite rides! The ride has been updated throughout the years. The most recent updates include the famous Captain Jack Sparrow from the popular Pirates of the Caribbean movies. This is one of the classic rides at Magic Kingdom and it's extremely popular! You can also get a genie+ for this ride if you're looking to avoid a wait. I'd highly recommend riding this ride, at least once!

I lived in California for almost all my life so I've only known the Disneyland version. I was so excited to try the WDW version and after having tried it, it's okay. The ride isn't different enough, except for the fact they dropped a couple of things that the LA version has. The whole Lafitte in the swamp scene that starts the ride with a calm chill is missing. I realize it's because this version doesn't have the Blue Bayou Restaurant for the boat to sail by, but it was a little jarring to not have that scene. The rest of the ride is almost identical to California one with a few tweaks. It was fine, but I was hoping to see maybe a new scene that I'd never seen before.

I feel like this is an often overlooked attraction at Magic Kingdom. I know that we had come here for several years before we actually checked it out the first time. It is definitely worth seeing and enjoying. It was everything I remembered and more as it was 10 years since the last time I was here. If you are a fan of the movies or even pirates in general, then you definitely want to check this one out.

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of my favorite rides. It's been modernized but has never lost its appeal. After all the years I've visited the park I make sure I visit this ride. It's a great place to get out of the sun and Florida heat too. I know I've done a review in the past but it is missing from this page. I'm recommending one more time!!

The Pirates of the Caribbean was Walt Disney's last venture into the world of auto animatronics before his death. It debuted in Disneyland in 1967 and was one of the original rides in the Magic Kingdom. It always has and always will be my favorite. Lightning lane is available for this ride and I'd recommend using it if you want to avoid the lines. Based off of the Disney film Treasure Island you enter a boat that fits about 6 rows of people. You're off on a voyage with a storm and an echoing voice-"dead men tell no tales!" All around you are skeletons manning the helms. Given a warning of rough waters ahead your boat plunges down a waterfall that barely gets you wet. Now you are engaged in the middle of a pirate shooting off cannons at a Caribbean town. Watch out as water shoots up along side you from the roar of the cannons on both sides. The ride continues with the pirate takeover of the town and follows though to an actual "burning" of the village as the Pirates sing their famous song. "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirates life for me." What makes this ride so spectacular are the iconic scenes that this ride is famous for. The drowning of the the mayor scene-"Where is the treasure?" The auction scene with the the men crying "We wants the redhead!!" for that beautiful red dressed lady. The chase scene even with a woman chasing a pirate! Of course we can't forget the jail scene where prisoners are enticing a dog to give up the keys to their cells while the dog holds the keys in his mouth and shakes his head no! This ride has been updated to reflect the movie series that came out by the same name so they added Jack Sparrow into both the dialogues and his character in at least 3 different scenes where he is hiding and ends up with a treasure room with a chest of gold! Even the red head from the auction scene has been upgraded. She's now a full fledged pirate known as Captain Redd. The imaginers worked her lines well into the scene without taking away the auctioneer calling for sales. Your photo is taken on this ride and of course it empties out into a gift shop at the end where you can purchase it along with other swashbuckling gifts or download it if you have purchased Memory Maker-a photo pass option where you can have photographers take pictures of you everywhere you are on your trip. This ride appeals to Walt Disney's legacy and I'm sure it will cater to all generation who love pirates and their tales. Located in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom.

"No survivors? Then, where do the stories come from, I wonder?" - Captain Jack Sparrow We survived the Pirates of the Caribbean ride! The classic ride of floating on a ship, along with the crew, and escaping Barbosa. You float through different scenes from the movies. It feels like you are a pirate on the ship, and you are part of the action! I like this ride for the entertainment and nostalgic nature. It is good for all ages too. The seats are pretty hard, not the most comfortable. But it works since you are mostly just floating around. The lights and theatrics make this one super fun. This will always be one of my favorites at any Disneyland Park.

Woops. It is hard to not compare to the OG Stuffy inside although the line is cooler than the ride to walk through, but equally stuffy

Pirates of the Caribbean is located in the Adventureland section of Magic Kingdom. It had a very short drop and some water splash. It was mostly a slow boat ride in the darkness and was just okay.

NOTHING LIKE THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN MOVIES The Pirates of the Caribbean ride is a Magic Kingdom classic that starts with a splash, a beach with skeletons, a storm-tossed ship and cannon-shooting ships. If you are a fan of Disney animatronics, you will enjoy the town square and burning city scenes full of pirates and townspeople. But other than being about pirates, how did this ride inspire the Johnny Depp movies? Five movies have been made and not much from the movies is reflected in the ride other an animatronic Jack Sparrow awkwardly inserted in a few scenes. The addition of a life-like animatronic Johnny Depp-Jack Sparrow also does not fit in with the other animatronic figures that are exaggerated 1950ish stylized caricatures of pirates.

Another classic ride in magic kingdom. I would recommend using a lightening lane for this ride as there is usually a wait. This is a great group ride and age friendly. Also a great place to cool off on hot days!

Pirates of the Caribbean is a famed water boat ride at Disney worlds magic kingdom that takes you on captain jack sparrows pirate journey. Made even more popular and famous by the gigantic movie franchise pirates of the Caribbean This Adventureland located ride is a long time staple of the park. The ride itself is for all ages and sizes and can have a wait times that can be as long as 50 min to no wait depending on the time of day you visit. It is a slow moving ride featuring pirate animatronics. It is a dark themed ride that could frighten younger kids but it is in reality very harmless and kid friendly. Over the years they have updated the Animatronics to look and sound more like Johnny drops iconic portrayal of captain Jack sparrow. Overall a cool and fun spirited family friendly ride located at magic kingdom that is always a popular one with my kiddos.

It's 2 years later, and it's just as much fun now as then. Johnny Depp's Captain Sparrow still resides here, and the redhead is no longer auctioned. She's a pirate! If you want to look good for a picture, it is taken on the left of the boat, after you see the skeleton at the wheel in the storm. Then you get the drop in total darkness before the battle. Fun!!

Such a great ride, as soon as you step on the ride and breathe in you get this amazing distinctive smell that only comes with the Pirates ride. You also get a distinctive sound. Such a find boat ride with amazing details throughout. Typically also a mor reasonable wait in the line. One of my favorites, great for all ages. A must stop when you go.

We were fortunate enough to catch that the Pirates of the Caribbean ride had reopened in the middle of the day. We just about walked on the ride. Much better than a 60+ minute wait time that seems pretty standard. It's a fun dark ride. It's fairly long, I think. Good use of vertical space and high ceilings mean you have a lot to look at on your ride. This ride is more interesting than it was before the Pirates movies. Other reviews lead me to believe some problematic elements have been removed.

This is a classic at Disney as well! I think it was a tad bit overhyped for me because I went with friends who super duper really love this ride, and I thought it was good, but not my favorite! I think I was maybe hoping for a more comprehensive journey through the Pirates of the Caribbean movie or something, even though I know this ride came first lol! It's a boat ride again, but this one kind of surprises you in the beginning with a slight rushing rapids DROP that is truly not a big deal, even for a scaredy cat like me, but still was UNEXPECTED and made me feel like what was even the point lol! All in all, I enjoy this ride and would definitely say you have to ride it, it's just not my favorite. What I did find super interesting though were the animatronics! The Jack Sparrow animatronic looks so realistic I was convinced it was an actual human cast member performing! My friends insisted it's an animatronic, but I'm still not convinced! It's very very impressive - and the ride is worth it just to soak that up!

Such a classic adventure ride they I look forward to every visit! Great seeing Jack Sparrow wondering around the entrance area interacting with guests. The line moves fast with lots to check out as you enter the boat. So many great scenes as you ride through the adventure. Definitely a must stop when you visit.

Yo Ho Yo Ho, A Pirate's Life for Me! This is one of the Iconic rides at the Magic Kingdom. They had a re-do a few years back to add Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow likeness into the ride. They also updated to current standards of decency as well (i.e. no longer selling women). The line for this can be a little crazy and part of me thinks it's worth it. Some of the animation of the characters is a little dated (the spinning lady with a broom chasing her boo around) on the slow boat ride around the various displays (didn't we just do that on It's a Small World?), but it has pirates and a chance to get wet. If you like Hi Ho's and Yo Ho's, then this is one of the rides for you. The Seven Dwarves ride is where you can get the other ones.

Pirates of the Caribbean is a fun, classic boat ride that's about pirates. This is at Magic Kingdom, and does have shorter wait times than other rides. The queue was mostly bland, but contained a few cool items. The ride itself was immersive, and really put you into what's going on in the story. There's a drop in this ride, so prepare to get wet! The catchy song combined with the immersion, and the drop all makes this a fun ride. Overall, it is worth checking out! Still one of our favorite rides at Magic Kingdom. Great location too.

Great design and decor. Love the music and all the different pirates. The boat ride is a nice rest from the sun and a chance to enjoy your imagination. A bit of a spooky vibe which I enjoy. The drop isn't too bad and makes the ride a bit more fun. Jack Sparrow is a great add to the ride. You'll find yourself singing along and wishing you could jump aboard that pirate ship .

Another one of my favorite rides in Magic Kingdom. The characters are all so fun, and the "story" being portrayed is great. Love all the background music and the special effects. This may not be one for little ones as it is dark and noisy.

Pirates is a cool ride. The entrance to this ride is really cool and has a great atmosphere. I'm only giving it 4 stars because it doesn't have a hill like the one in Disneyland does.

Before it was a series of blockbuster movies it was a ride and I wrote it when I was a kid and adult and it was a lot of fun both times. It's cool we will venture ride you're on a boat go through like a cave and see all the Pirates sing in and doing their pirate thing that's a lot of fun

Yo ho ho, it's a pirates life for me! One of our favorite rides at Disney, and one of its classics. So popular they made a movie series out of it that have grossed a gazillion dollars. The lines can get long depending on time of day but they move fast as they have a ton of boats which continually take bunches of passengers on. Waiting on the cue in the tunnels offer some things to see and it's cooler and dimly lit in there which is a relief from the Florida heat. The caves, music, background sounds, and each scene you float into are still very cool to me. Many of them can be found in parts of the movies. The animatronics and character movements are also fun to watch. Also, the ride was updated to include Captain Jack Sparrow popping up here and there, and in the final scene as the ride ends. It's a relaxing and fun boat ride through a Disney classic.

Magic Kingdom (Orlando) ADVENTURELAND Akin to the ride in Disneyland California, this ride remains enjoyable. Pirates of the Caribbean is adjacent to the Jungle Cruise ride in Adventureland. The attraction with small splashdowns and mildly frightening images embarked us on a voyage to a time when pirates ruled the sea. This boat ride, which is some 15-min long, all took place indoors. We cruised through secret caves, view a bustling Caribbean island town that has become overrun with a host of bad pirates (is there such thing as a "good" pirate?), as well as various animals, including chickens, pigs, donkeys, cats, and dogs and we got to witness exciting sea battles. All audio-animatronics, of course! They've done away with the bridal auction scene (no more "wenches")... the familiar redhead is now a spunky pirate. There's action on both sides of the boat so keep your eyes peeled. All that combined with their lively antics as well as the entertaining background music, "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!" makes this a fun ride... plus, you get to stay out of the sun and rest your feet for a little bit. Be on the lookout for Captain Jack Sparrow... he pops up in different parts of the ride. Review #1438

Does this ride ever get old or is it timeless. There's just something about that dark dank water ride that offers respite from the Florida heat and just hits the spot. I loved this ride even back before they put Johnny Depp in eyeliner, but now that they've added Jack Sparrow into the mix it's even more fun. I also noted this time around that updates to the ride have gotten more politically correct. They are no longer pillaging the ladies of the town but did leave the drunken loaner pirate talking to the resident cats, good updates Disney. I approve. This water ride is very easy and calm, you just float about through the underground caverns as you witness a city siege and then them introducing its citizens to the pirate way of life. The moving mannequins are quite funny and overall it's a jolly happy ride. I do have to ask though, what jailer gives the keys to his dog to watch, seems slightly irresponsible to me!

I recommend this ride once again even tho it's not the most thrilling ride but it brings nostalgia back every time. We got on this ride with only 10 minutes of waiting which makes the experience even better! I won't spoil anything don't worry! It's always a blast when I'm on this ride! So take your family on this ride when you come!

Pirates is a classic Disney ride that has been here for ages. I have been coming here for sad to say 30 years and this has always been a go to for me. I usually get a fast pass for this ride however if you don't the line is usually 30-50 minutes. Anyone can ride it honestly. This ride is a boat that takes you through what would be the pirates in the Caribbean. These are a few dips. In these dips you COULD get wet but nothing major. Is it the best ride Disney has? No. Is it old and dated? Yes (although they have made some changes in the past years including a look alike johnny depp). If you've never been here you should ride it. And if you've been here a million times like me you probably love riding it. Now that I have kids they love this ride. It's one of their favorites too.

Yo ho hold up, that's a long line for a slow moving boat cruise through scenes of animatronics playing "where's Jack Sparrow?" Not a terrible escape if it's hot outside (or rainy). Dead Man's Cove and the large cannon battle is decent due to pyrotechnics and water effects. It's a smooth ride for the entire family. Still, if the line is long, skip it or come back in the evening.

If I could ride this over and over again I most definitely would. You would be foolish if you did not score yourself a lightning lane pass and breeze by the 2 hour standby line. There is something about this ride that makes the entire experience legendary. I'm not sure if it's being a boat or the scents associated with the different room but I absolutely can not miss this ride when visiting Disney.

Oh man. Easy to see why the lines are always so long. Such a classic ride! Great job with the dividers and spacing during covid. I do miss the pirate in the cellar who scared me EVERY SINGLE TIME!

If a pirates life is for you, then Pirates of the Caribbean is a must ride. It's a classic ride that has been updated in the more recent years due to the film franchise. See if you can spot Captain Jack Sparrow/Johnny Drop In a few of the scenes. The line is in the Shade and it's a totally indoor ride if you need to get out of the elements (sun or rain). The only downside is that some visits it's been down for repairs or refurbishment. (This visit it was running however!)
