Why Scuba Diving Is a Surprisingly Chill Method for Mindfulness | Vogue

"Affordable and inviting, this Airbnb—where we settled into the Pirate’s Pod House—came with a friendly Australian-turned-local host, Bruce Harbour, who even coordinated our airport pickup. From the elevated hideaway’s wraparound deck I could see the dock, and being a five-minute stroll from the Cousteau Resort’s Dive Center made it an easy base for our couples escape." - Arden Fanning Andrews

All the staff were friendly and checked in regularly, so we never felt neglected. All the food we ordered was so yummy. My husband and I both got seafood combos. The atmosphere was so neat too. I've driven by the place so many times and didn't realize how good it would be. It sadly didn't have too many people inside. Which is such a shame. This place deserves more customers. I would recommend eating here. We will definitely be going back.

Ambiance: Pirate themed restaurant with a patio dining area, interior dining area, and bar! The bar is absolutely amazing - made from resin & driftwood with fun ocean/pirate themed items throughout. The bar area is definitely a highlight of the restaurant and so unique. The pirate theme is well-maintained throughout the restaurant, with some staff dressed up and fun novelty art/items scattered around to look at. Seafood, hot dogs/burgers, and other classic dishes available to order. Pirate themed cocktails & fun beers available like Kona Big Wave. We enjoyed dining at the bar! This is the perfect spot to celebrate summer, have a birthday, or just switch up the vibe. Great for birthdays, family dinners, themed parties, a unique date night, or solo dining at the bar. The food was really good. The grilled shrimp were seasoned well. The bbq burger was delicious (a bit messy to eat). We were asked to move down to accommodate another family and the restaurant comped us a free dessert - so the service is really great and the staff wants to ensure a fun dining experience. A bit on the pricey side for cocktails and some of the menu items, however the aesthetic and unique atmosphere is worth it. Onsite parking. Friendly staff & clean interior. We did find the tv placement being on a wall behind our seats at the bar a bit strange for anyone wanting to watch, but this felt like the type of place you go for the experience and not to watch tv! We will definitely be going back - fun theme & great time!

Such a fun place to bring the family or have drinks with friends. The atmosphere is on point with the pirate theme in a sophisticated yet welcoming way. The service was attentive and fast and thr food was really good. They have games for the kids. TVs and a somewhat separate bar area for thr adults. Even the patio is decorated with sails as though you're on the deck of a ship. Every detail was taken into consideration.

This place was FANTASTIC 😍. I've been wanting to come here for ages because a pirate themed restaurant.. Yes please! The decor and ambiance did not disappoint, but what I wasn't expecting was just how delicious the food would be. Every dish was perfectly prepared, tasted wonderful, and was visually appealing. My hubby and I were surprised at how we could taste each of the individual ingredients in the sea biscuits, yet they all came together perfectly. In all we had the sea biscuits, oysters Rockefeller, clam chowder, chili dog with fries, and Monte Cristo, with a whole meal that came home. Total bill before tip was like $66. The icing on the cake was finding out they give a 15% discount if you come dressed as a pirate ☠️ 🏴‍☠️🦜, don't walk..run!

Came for the fried chicken, not on the menu yet. The chicken was perfect. The service was polite and attentive. They have daily specials so I’ll be back for the prime rib. Worth your time!

Good food and service. The atmosphere is very cool especially the custom made bar seen in the photos. The service from the bartender was great and it was nice chatting with the owner. The food was really good including the chicken fried steak and pork sandwich. Mac and cheese was a great side. Decent portion sizes for the price as well. Overall great first experience and will be back to explore more of the menu.

Google
I actually loved the atmosphere. Inside the furniture and tables and theme are amazing. The food I was not a fan. The chowder was salty, hot dog not great, crab cakes were more filler than crab and didn’t taste fresh. The chicken lollipop with tomato sauce- poorly labeled. Chicken lollipop is a certain way that the a chicken wing is prepared but that’s not what happened here- the curry tomato sauce was actually really good but with mashed potatoes was different. The portion was way too large. Overall we will not be back. I wish I had a better review. Also to mention- they were out of the first three things we ordered.

I’ve had my eye on this place for awhile but finally came in today, sat at the bar and got to meet Malcom and Rita. Lovely people, they were so sweet and welcoming! I got the black and blue burger with fries to go and it was delicious!! Malcom made the burger behind the bar and you can tell it was fresh. Beautiful and unique establishment with a heartfelt story. I hope to visit more frequently. Thank you for having me and look forward to trying more food there 🤍

Yelp
My husband and I just had dinner here. The food, atmosphere and staff were amazing! The place is really funky. It's designed like a pirate ship. It has pirate theme throughout the whole restaurant. The tables and chairs are very large and ornate, just like you would imagine pirates eating and drinking at. Before we left, we met the owner, Malcolm. He is so friendly and polite. He asked if he could pull up a chair so he could sit and visit with us. Where do you see the owner's of restaurants doing that? Not very often. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. All the food is fresh never frozen so you will get top-notch food and service.

Yelp
It matters that they make everything in-house. And the owner proudly talked about sourcing locally from Tomball and such, something we really appreciate. We ordered Fried shrimp, with creamed spinach and onion rings. The flavor of the food was good, well-seasoned, and it was new to me to have leaf spinach served in a cheese sauce and I decided I like it! If you like your food spicy, then order the Shrimo Cocktail. It was a little spicy for me, but the flavors were good. We ordered a stuffed baked potato with butter, sour cream and chives. The potatoes skin tasted great, not sure how it was seasoned, but we liked it and the prosaic boring stuffed baked potato was really delicious when I poured the remainder of my spinach's cheese sauce over it. Desserts are homemade, and today's offerings were crème brûlée and Key lime pie. They weren't bad. The owner was welcoming and I liked our nice chat, particularly as they were short-staffed as somebody had not turned up for work. Overall, we had no real expectations going in and thought the food tasted much better than we had anticipated. Try it.

Yelp
We came in with high hopes on a Friday. For sure disappointed. Ordered two run of the mill beers most bars have cases of. Was told oh we only have like 3. 3 cold? No just 3. Ok we can switch it up after this round. Next one we ordered, another common beer. No we're out of that. The food. Mediocre at best. On a Friday evening at 5-6 pm we were the only people in there. The next table over all the staff sat there just gossiping. It was really awkward to overhear what they were talking about. We originally were going to hang out and have a few drinks and wait for karaoke but due to lack of attentiveness by our waitress when we were the only ones there and lack of domestic beer...we left and went to Ale and Ivy. I really wish it was better because I had high hopes and loved the ambiance.

Yelp
So I hear Wednesday is their big day. It's Prime Rib day. I called a day ahead to see what hours it's served. The owner who answered the phone told me that actually the employees of one of the companies in the area reserved like the whole cow. I think he said 64 lbs or something like that. Savages. But he did say they could save a piece for us if I told him when I wanted to come in. I asked him for a good time to come. He said usually they're done cooking it by 12:30 pm and then it needs time to cool down. So he suggested mid-afternoon like around 2 pm. Ok. Well what the heck. A late lunch it is then. I've always been a whore for a good cut of meat. When we got there I told the host/waiter that we had a reservation and he just replied ok and didn't bother asking our name or checking us off a list or anything. Understandable I suppose since the place was empty. When we got the menus my first observation was that a number of the prices were higher by several dollars than as listed on their website, including the prime rib. The waiter replied it's just a few bucks, and then noted it's actually been like that for a few months. When I talked to the owner later he said they're waiting for the lady who handles their website to make the update. I've posted pics of their current in store menu so you can know the current prices. I think the waiter was new. Because he didn't ask how we wanted our prime rib cooked (I had to ask him later if we have a choice). Also when I asked for more horseradish (it doesn't come with the prime rib automatically) he took my plastic thimble looking cup and just refilled it, which seemed a bit unsanitary and odd. Also I had to ask for ketchup for the onion rings. When I was signing the bill he just hovered and immediately took it. It just felt weird. I dunno. Maybe his shift was ending or something. I know this sounds weird to comment on but the water tasted off. It's the first time I've ever said that. But it just tasted weird. I couldn't put my finger on it. Maybe like it already had some lemon in it? Yet there was a lemon slice on the rim of the glass. So I'm not sure. Anyway onto the prime rib. I thought it was ok. My kid absolutely loves prime rib and that's the real reason we came. But she just didn't like it here. However it is one of their most popular dishes and the way they sell out obviously folks in the area are ga ga for it. So definitely come give it a try for yourself. It comes 2 sides but not a baked potato which is $5 extra. I love baked potatoes but the extra cost made me not want to get it. The waiter said the mashed potatoes do not come with gravy but actually the sauce that comes with the prime rib is pretty thick and could easily be used for this. I thought the cream spinach was good as well as the fries and onion rings. Note the QR codes on the bill didn't work to pay. I'm not sure why. I think the waiter said something was wrong with their computers. When we asked for a to go box the lid on my gravy container didn't securely close. The waiter said that actually all of the containers have that problem. Yikes. Well just be careful you don't spill it in your car. I guess the waiter told the owner my kid didn't like the prime rib and when we were boxing it up the owner came to our table and was apologetic and super nice about it and offered to comp her plate. Now that's old school class. I've been to some of these newer places where they couldn't give a crap. But the owner here actually cares that people have a good time. So kudos to him. Their menu is extensive. And they have something for everyone. They also have a kids menu with reasonable prices. The monte cristo and pork knuckle were catching my eye. Maybe another day.

Yelp
I never write reviews but thought I'd make an exception for this place. Stopped in for dinner and a drink after getting a friend moved in close by. While we were initially thrown off by the decoration, we were so pleasantly surprised! They had a limited menu due to hosting a large company event for someone the night before, but what they could offer was amazing. The owner was the only one working and he killed it on all aspects. Super friendly, great food, great experience!

Yelp
I had just an OK experience at pirates paradise. The food was just ok,and the experience was slightly above average. Me and a group of friends visited on a Friday evening. The restaurant was pretty empty & it was karaoke night (which made it a bit hard to hear). I really wanted to get the pirate peg legs, but they were all out of them! I was very disappointed... so instead I got the shrimp po-boy. It was not super delicious and fell apart halfway through eating it :( I don't think I'd get this again. Service was above average for our group size. And the experience was a bit fun. I was expecting more people to be wearing pirate costumes though haha. Overall, don't come for the food, but come if you want a unique experience.

Yelp
This was super fun. The servers dressed like pirates. We came in pretty early on a Friday and it was empty. We got there for a really late lunch, 3pm. We celebrated a birthday. (They sing a sea shanty) The food was surprisingly good. The cocktails were more like tiki bar, that is to say very sweet. Not really my style, but some people love the sweet island, tiki, cruise style drinks. I liked it. I would like to try it when it was busy. Really pretty on the inside. I would go again. It is a bit expensive for what it is.

Yelp
All the staff were friendly and checked in regularly, so we never felt neglected. All the food we ordered was so yummy. My husband and I both got seafood combos. The atmosphere was so neat too. There's even some board games available and a big connect 4 game in the corner where i saw a family having fun together. I've driven by the place so many times and didn't realize how good it would be. It sadly didn't have too many people inside. Which is such a shame. This place deserves more customers. I would recommend eating here. We will definitely be going back.

Yelp
We passed by this restaurant and just had to stop by. The atmosphere was great. I love the pirate themed meals and scenery. The owner came by to talk to us and gave us the history of the restaurant. He was great!

Yelp
I'm not a photographer but this place is definitely a MUST try. Everything is fresh and hot when it reaches the table. Burger is freshly grilled. Macaroni and cheese is something you can dip with chips the flavor. This place gives many local spots a run for their money. We popped in on a random Saturday night with a family of 8, 3 kids and 5 adults. Accommodations were excellent. Quality is unbeatable it's home cooked. You have to try it.

Yelp
This themed restaurant is a lot of fun but the food is very good also. They don't rely on the well thought out decor but back it up with delicious food and generous portions. This is a great place for lids but adults get to enjoy a great meal and some cool "grog". As noted by others, drinks are a little pricey but not really put of line for The Woodlands area. Last night the host was in full pirate garb which added to the effect. We started with crabcakes which were good but not outstanding Mains were the grilled catfish, which was really excellent and the Captains Pie which was really flavorful and eon the evening. Service was solid and the ambience is nice.

Yelp
Stopped here for an early dinner on a Tuesday afternoon for a neat pirate experience. No one wears pirate attire (sadly) but no worries because my friend and I brought some from her home. We were seated quickly and orders were taken quickly as well. We actually had to have our friendly server give us more time to look at the menu since we were so excited about the decor in general! I ordered a burger with bacon and it was phenomenal. Cooked medium and tasted delicious! The portions here are huge! My son got a kids meal and it was plenty, I had to split my burger in half and save half for home (it was just as delicious warmed up, by the way). I'd definitely come back here.

Yelp
2 friends and I enjoyed lunch yesterday at Pirates Paradise. The food was very tasty and the service was first rate. It's worth a visit just to see their bar. We each ordered something different; fried oysters, Street tacos and fried cod. All excellent In addition they have an interesting drink menu.

Yelp
We were curious about this place so we stopped by for lunch today. We were unsure what to expect but the servers were very friendly, the chairs are super comfortable, and all the food was delicious. We ordered the Captain's Pie (shepherd's pie), All Hands on Deck with a side of onion rings and hush puppies, clam chowder, captains club sandwich and the kid's Mac & cheese with chicken with a side of buttered corn. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. Gave us great recommendations of their most popular dishes. All the food was delicious. The club sandwich and the onion rings were some of the best we've ever had. Our toddler loved the buttered corn and the mac & cheese with chicken. We were a little overwhelmed with how big the menu was, but really you can't go wrong because they seem to have an excellent cook. Can't wait to come back and try more of their seafood.

Yelp
This was a really cool experience! Pirate theme everywhere! I love when you walk in, it's not normal seating. They have big hardwood tables and chairs for you to sit at. The food variety is awesome and creative. They have food you wouldn't normally find at other places. Some of the sides were a little bland like the mashed potatoes. The hush puppies weren't made entirely out of corn meal which was nice and they weren't super dry, but lacking some flavor (still good though). The service was fast and amazing. We had Alfred and he was such a nice and respectful young man. He took his time with our whole table and ensured we knew everything and made sure we had everything. I can't wait to come back and try some more of their food!

Yelp
This place certainly commits to its pirate's theme in decor, furniture and costuming. Life sized statues of pirates and their companions start appearing in the parking lot of the bright blue building and continue their way onto the walls and ceilings in the brightly lit dining room. The ceiling beams are adorned with sails and staff all wear pirate attire. Lots of thought went into interior design. Would the food be as brilliant? We started our meal with an appetizer cleverly named an island planks. Essentially this was a crostini with arugula, beef, goat cheese and a drip of balsamic vinegar glaze. Tasty. Score one for the appetizers. For mains we had the orange salmon and the pork shank. The orange salmon dish came with your choice of two sides and we opted for Brussels sprouts and onion rings. The fish was cooked well and the orange flavor enhanced it. Sprouts were flavorful and quickly eaten. Onion rings battered and crisp. The pork shank was utterly craveable. Charred yet tender and sitting on a bed of silky mashed potatoes swimming in onions, mushrooms and what is billed as a gravy but read more Au jus, this is a dish worth returning for. The menu is expansive and runs the gamut from hot dogs to seafood. Not as clearly aligned with the pirate theme, it has options for all.

Yelp
I had high hopes for this place, but I left feeling fairly disappointed. I came in on a Saturday around 12:45 and it was relatively empty. (Eventually a few more people came in) The food was pretty mediocre. The service was pretty lacking- maybe the waiter was newer or something but he kept forgetting things we asked for. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but for what we came for we went away disappointed. We will probably try one more time just in case it was a one off.

Yelp
My husband and I were running errands and looking for somewhere to have lunch. We have driven by this spot many times and have always been intrigued. We looked up their menu online and decided to give it a try. The interior is spacious and they have legit dining tables and chairs like you are at someone's house. The severs were dressed in low key pirate style clothes - but not full on on costumes. I thought it was pretty neat . I wasn't in the mood for fish, and opted for a chili dog which did not disappoint. Their fries were great as well. We started with their jalapeno poppers which I thought were a bit heavier on the cream cheese, but still good. The dipping sauce was a nice touch as well. My husband loves catfish - so that's what he got. He was obsessed with the batter and said it was perfectly cooked and crispy. The huh puppies were a tad mushy, but still ok. The onion rings were really good though. We both said we would definitely be back and were impressed with the portions and the service. This is a super fun spot, and refreshingly different!!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of visiting with a couple friends this Friday night, absolutely fantastic service, very friendly and caring staff, and great food. Highly recommend especially for fans of fun decor and good seafood

Yelp
Out and about and decided to support their Monday test opening. They did not disappoint! Everything was so good. Waitress was very attentive. Will be back for chicken fried steak Friday!

Yelp
Best fried chicken I've had. Tender, seasoned right. Just yum! The clam chowder is delicious here too!

Yelp
I'll be honest -- my expectations were somewhat low given that this is a theme restaurant. However, I found the food to be pretty good and was satisfied with my meal. I ordered the Captain's Pie (Shepherd's Pie, essentially). It was pretty tasty. My fiancé had the Grilled Shrimp which was pretty good. I enjoyed the fries on the side as well -- they were thick cut but crispy. His second side of Brussels sprouts was disappointing though. They were served halved but they were massive so it didn't make much of a difference. They were hard and undercooked and pretty soggy (not crispy/charred in any way). I think they need to rethink that recipe. Finally, we both really liked the Nutella Cheesecake. Ultimately, the food didn't blow my mind or anything but it certainly exceeded my expectations. The service was really friendly and efficient as well. Our waitress was very attentive and fast. We brought our toddler (they let us park our stroller at the table by the way but they also obviously offer high chairs). I was surprised that there weren't more kids there (we came in the mid-afternoon on a Saturday). Saw quite a few adults getting loaded on the pirate-themed drinks. There is obviously a bunch of pirate-themed decor on the walls (and a few pirate statues outside the restaurant). Our toddler wasn't particularly impressed but she's hard to please so it's not their fault. Personally, I found the indoor pirate decor to be slightly underwhelming. Easy parking in the lot.

Yelp
Arrrrgh Matey!! They went all out on the theme it is very fun and cute! Service was great and food was very good! We had kids burger which is large the kids had leftovers. Catfish po-boy came with fries and the bacon cheddar waffle burger.

Yelp
Service was super quick! Food was made fresh and the place looks like what you'd imagine a real battleship would be like. The staff were friendly and I must say I was impressed with even the bathroom ! And the prices!!! A fresh made burger for equal or LESS than fast food! And did I mention they deliver PRIVATELY! No Uber eats to bring you cold food with a huge fee!

C H.

Yelp
Avoid this place. The food is all reheated. The burger patties are not fresh. They were out of half the menu items including the special that they had all week to prepare for. The service is awful. The server just didn't care. We had four plates of basically untouched food. He didn't ask or offer to rectify anything, also knew better than to ask if we wanted to go boxes. The tables and chairs are odd. If you enjoy kids running around and parents drinking until they can tolerate their children then you might enjoy this place.

Yelp
Well, I have been driving past Pirates Paradise since they took over from Herb and Beet. Tonight, the Missis and Quesadilla Girl went in for a meal. The floor staff was very inviting and the interior was warm to contrast the cool January night. I ordered a Kona Big Wave beer and it is one of the better lagers I have imbibed lately ... I prefer ales, but this is a good body and crisp finish. The table is ample, chairs are well apportioned to my big backside and the overall ambiance is not really akin to a pirate cove, but more like a finer dining place. Our appetizer was the Pirate Skins (6.99) and were cheesy and bacony enough. I just wish it was a little thinner on the taters and a lot more on the bacon. I ordered their Thursday Special - half rack ribs with two sides ... I chose creamed spinach and country green beans. My meal was listed at $19.99. This may be a good deal for the price. When it arrived my reaction was "Holy moly," this was FREAKING TREMENDOUS! The ribs fell off of the bone easier than a pornstar gets themself undressed. The sauce they use is sweet and tangy as well as a slight bark on the ribs. My chosen sides were very grandmaesque in presentation and were full of flavor. The green beans stole the show for me and the creamed spinach came in a close second. Quesadilla Girl had the pulled pork sammie and my Wife enjoyed one of the best Monte Cristo's she has ever had. I highly recommend this place for the food alone. Fridays features Karaoke, at least this week and live music this Saturday. Overall, the price is above average on the higher end of the scale, but the portion sizes sate the carnivore in me, so it was worth the money. Come by and see how the Jolly Roger feeds you.

Yelp
This one of a kind experience is fantastic for an island getaway! The staple of this restaurant is the bar top, which showcases a pirate sea emaculatly encased within. There are many pirate themed cocktails and a good selection of food items to choose from. The servers were all very kind and contributed to the Pirate experience. Be sure to check it out the next time your ship anchors in Spring!

Yelp
This place is a little restaurant with a yummy food menu, I had the seafood platter and it was good. Service was good and prices are reasonable if are looking for a place to eat seafood and sandwiches this place is great

Yelp
This place is fun. I'm not sure what we expected our first visit to this eatery. I imagined servers dressed in pirate themed costumes, I guess. The decor is Victorian nautical, and the menu items reflect a ‍ theme, "Salty dogs", "Peg legs", etc. It's fun. But what we were really most impressed with was the quality of the food. I ordered the "All Hands on Deck" seafood platter, was allowed to substitute crawfish for the oysters, and everything, including the catfish, was cooked to perfection. My daughter got a salad that included salmon and said it was excellent. She's worked as a waitress and noted the service was great, as well. That's high praise coming from her. The dessert menu offers excellent choices, and we were pleased with all but one item. The pistachio pie wasn't what my daughter had expected, but the cheesecake and brownie pie were excellent. The owner came out to address us when he found out about the pie, but I assured him that we enjoyed the experience. That was the only critique. I hope this place is successful. It makes for a fun, unique, swashbuckling experience for the local area.

Deborah G.

Yelp
My son took me to this amazing restaurant today for lunch. You can tell the food was made from fresh ingredients. I had the grilled pork chops, green beans and fries. Also got a captains pie (shepherds pie) to take home that is delicious! Highly recommend this place. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere makes you feel like you are in a rich pirates dining room!! o Deborah

Yelp
From the outside nautical theme, I thought it would be mainly seafood. From the decor on the inside again, seafood. Overall menu, it has a little bit of many things to satisfy a few tastes. It is smaller with most of the tables seating 6 or more. We ordered the chicken peg legs (drumsticks with the meat pushed to the end. We also ordered the all hands on deck fried seafood platter. Catfish, shrimp, crawfish tails and 3 oysters. Although there was no hostess station at the front door when you walk in, the staff was attentive, and quick to seat us, quick to take our orders and put them in. The kitchen from my observations (is an open kitchen) is sending out partial orders. There is a lot of food just sitting waiting to be delivered. They do not have an expediter to coordinate food deliveries to ensure the whole table gets their food. I do not see too much communication between the open kitchen and the. Back kitchen. I know it's is newly opened, it is going to take some time and a little pain to get the machine working right, but there needs to be someone at the helm to control the ship. I don't see it so far. 30 minutes and no food. Ok. Just got the food, honestly the tomato gravy is a butter chicken sauce and it's tasty. My daughter likes the chicken and the mashed. The all hands on deck was not a favorite. The catfish was well prepared, but needed seasoning. I really had my hopes up that with the theme, seafood would have been great. Again, it is only their 2nd night open. I will give it a month to try some more items. Maybe even breakfast this weekend because I am a biscuits and gravy nut. I hope they work on coordinating staff and seasoning the seafood.

Yelp
Not gonna lie, it's pretty weird. The tables are strangely huge and so are the chairs. You've got pirates and other things hanging from the rafters. The servers are not very competent, like at all. The food is mid-level at best. This was a very, very odd dining experience. I'm shocked that people are giving this place 4 and 5 stars. What? To each their own I guess but there are too many options in The Woodlands for me to consider this spot a contender for an evening out.

Yelp
Last night was our first time to eat at Pirates Paradise. It's such a neat place! The food was great! They have everything from causal food to gourmet that you'd see in an upscale restaurant. The food was priced very well! The kids menu was the cheapest I've seen in a long time. The staff was all very friendly. The decor had us looking around and saying, oh did you see that? This is a great place to dine as a family, with friends or on date night. Last night they had karaoke. It was fun to listen to. There were all different varieties of songs sang, some by kids and some by adults. I noticed they do delivery within a 10 mile radius. We might have to try this out in the future when not able to make it into the restaurant, as the food was really good!! We're already planning on going back and trying the shank!

Yelp
Great new place in The Woodlands. Took a chance for a family night out and loved it! Fun atmosphere all around. Excellent variety of menu and everything we ordered was great. Had the country fried steak and best Onion rings ever. We also tried chicken soup, chicken pops, captains pie, street tacos, the Aye-Aye dog and "All Hands on Deck" (a great fried seafood combo). The portions are large and all have amusing pirate themes. If you enjoy hot dogs...there is a whole menu of entrees to choose from. Can't wait to go back with more friends!

Yelp
2 starts at best. Very odd. The first thing you notice is the extreme pirate décor. When I say décor, it's like you're on a ship with the torn masts above you and a pirate hanging from a rope on one wall and a "wench" hanging from the other side from the ceiling on a rope. The bartender was in full costume of a pirate. The place is pretty big on the inside with many huge tables and large chairs. The menu is extensive and they do have a lunch menu of soup/salad or soup/sandwich or any combo of two. Clean bathroom. We ordered a club sandwich with sweet potato fries and potato skins with clam chowder. The potato skins were smothered with cheddar cheese (see pic). The clam chowder first came out lukewarm. After sending it back and it came back hot, but it was not good. Extremely creamy with many unknown ingredients with a side of 4 stale bread slices. The club sandwich was okay once the bread that had Dijon mustard on it was removed. The menu did not mention mustard. The Diet Coke was flat but the regular Coke was good and the tea was good. I really wanted the wedge salad but it didn't come with a protein, yet, it was $13.99. Too pricey. We gave it a try but won't go back. The service was just okay. We had to ask for refills and our check after waiting quite a while for both. Good luck to this business!

Yelp
Food-10 was delicious Service-10 atmosphere-10 The pork shank was huge and delicious...should serve some kind of bread with it Grilled Shrimp was delicious Food prices are very fair and the servings were good for price!! Drinks were high--michelob ultra bottle $8 and ranch water $15 Also another down fall was the music...needs to be more upbeat like a pirate!!!

Yelp
Good portions at a good price, and the cocktails are the ideal strength (in my opinion) and tasty! Staff has been friendly each time I've gone and they love if you come dressed up in pirate accessories :) Cool decor and props, especially love how the bar looks.

Yelp
I just read a review calling the overall experience "weird" and I couldn't agree more! I've been excited to take my kids here thinking it would be a fun place to eat. It was all just so awkward. We walked in and it was awkwardly quiet besides a TV playing the news (definitely ruined the pirate vibe). The waiter seemed to have no experience with talking to people. The menu looked very corny. The food wasn't good. It was all smothered in sauces to give flavor. We will not be back.

Yelp
Food was not very good for the menu prices. Many items were unavailable. Staff was undertrained. One server watched videos with volume turned up at an empty table while vaping and scratching his face. Fortunately he was not our waiter. Will not return.

Yelp
Pirates Paradise, for breakfast. Very wacky and fun decor. Conversation was hilarious and theme appropriate. It was wonderful. I couldn't wait for lunch to try this place. Bacon and potatoes cooked perfect. How can a pirate place have such a great breakfast? I don't know but they scored! I'll be back for lunch and dinner. Service was beyond expectations.

Yelp
My family and I have celebrated several big occasions at Pirates Paradise. I particularly love the crab cakes and shrimp diablo. Just last night we joined them for karaoke. So fun and great atmosphere!

Yelp
Awesome unique great restaurant. A nice gem to the area! I enjoy trying different places and enjoyed the different options of food. All fantastic!

Yelp
This place is overpriced and the food is just average. My catfish had no seasoning and my soda came flat. The TV was playing inappropriate shows in front of my kids, and overall I left unsatisfied.

Yelp
My husband and I went this past Monday. It was around lunch time. We were seated right away. There wasn't many people there. We ordered the potato skins which was good. He order soup and sandwich and I ordered the pirates peg legs. The soup was ok as was his club sandwich. The potato and sauce was good with mine but the chicken was a bit undercooked as the bone was still a bit pink. It was good but I can find this at most restaurants. I was expecting a more varied menu. Maybe we try the dinner next time and see how that fares.

Yelp
Lobster bisque was really great! This could be an upscale restaurant if the decor were different.
