We had visited Pirates Point twice before, but not since 2013. We were delighted to discover that the resort is back in action after COVID and is hitting on all cylinders. It's now under the ownership of Susan Howard, daughter of Little Cayman dive resort icon Gladys Howard. They do two dives a day, in the morning, weather permitting (winds with a northerly component can close the preferred north side; we dove the south side one day for that reason). The dive operation is run from a new boat, the Falcon, and in general is extremely squared away and safety conscious. Food was great. Several rooms have been renovated and now qualify as "very nice" on my scale as opposed to merely nice. There appear to be more divers and more dive operations in Little Cayman than in 2013, but it's still not a huge crowd compared to, say, Cozumel, and the reef seemed quite healthy. We saw many more sharks than last time, and fewer lionfish. The snorkelers in our party had almost as much fun as the divers. We look forward to returning.
