Pirules Garden Kitchen

This was one of the most creative dining experiences we have had in a long time. Everything is sourced local and it shows. The explanations that accompany the dishes- along with a fascinating description of the cooking techniques- added to the night. Denise was our waiter who was often assisted by Sarah, the manager. They are delightful guides. Standouts: the red snapper, sweet potato, tomato salad and melted cheese. The dessert, the special bacon and maple ice cream was crazy good. We have already booked for another night!

We were staying across the street at the Numu Hotel and wanted to come check out the Rosewood and have dinner. We came to eat on their first evening of being open, 10/25/24. The grounds were amazing, fantastic views, excellent service. We are vegetarian, and they didn’t have many options unfortunately, that’s the only reason for only 4 stars. The only vegetarian option they had was expensive, $25, and the portion was tiny. This is shown in the pictures I included with this review. The other thing we were not happy about was that still water for two people was $9. Would love to come back if they had some more vegetarian options. They did include bread, a snapper appetizer, and a small little dessert treat when they brought the check which was a nice touch.

My wife and I wandered into Pirules Garden this afternoon in the hopes of enjoying a late lunch. We sat at the bar which has a lovely view of the grounds and chatted with a sweet girl named Daniela, who was working at the bar. We shared the camotes starter which was quite delicious and unusual. My wife ordered a dish that featured three different dips (can't remember what it was called but one was guacamole), and it was very good. Feeling a bit hungry, I ordered the rack of lamb. That was a mistake. The lamb looked good but it was very disappointing, so tough I had to send it back, something I almost never do. I asked for a hamburger instead, figuring that would be safe. And yes, it was okay, but not fantastic, although they accommodated my request to add bacon. I guess the problem is that I know I can get a good hamburger for a lot less than 700 pesos at any number of places. But this was the Rosewood, so the price was no surprise. With two Coronas and a zero Heineken the bill came to 1700 pesos before tip. The setting was beautiful, the service was first rate, and our walk back through the hotel grounds was delightful, so all in all we had a pleasant time and I would return to try something other than the lamb or the hamburger. (Let me explain that at those prices I expected gourmet quality, which is why I only gave three stars for the food. Better luck next time, I suppose.) btw, is it true that you offer a 15% discount to locals? We weren't offered this discount even though we had a lengthy conversation with Daniela about being 11 year residents of San Miguel, as well as the fact that El Brillo (that's me) makes SMA's finest bagels (and I gave her my card).

Phenomenal restaurant, definitely the most underrated at the Rosewood property. The cuisine is probably best described as ‘Modern Mexican’ - don’t expect tacos but approach it with a somewhat experimental and open mind (I mean this in a positive way). The ambience and decor is just fantastic, including the bathrooms (they even have changing tables at the gents - a rarity in Mexico). Service is friendly and charming. We went 3 times during our stay.

This place is amazing. Try their eggplant dip. Amazingly roasted. Lots of vegetarian options and they can also accommodate dietary preferences if required. Great experience eating here. Truly fine dining experience.

Great food, creative cocktails, beautiful environment, very friendly staff, superb service.

Got the 7-course menu all 4 of us. Great experience with the Chef description every course and saw everyone in the kitchen in action. Definitely recommended.
