Google
A wonderful place to visit. It is currently under renovation so there are limitations. But it's a nice quick walk or bike path. If you're a cyclist the area around is also wonderful to tour. Plenty to love.

Hot, muggy and buggy. No place to park. Packed full of Yankees now.

This was a very pleasant walk to catch a sunset over Charleston and the Revenel Bridge. There are no public restrooms on the walk, but ample off street parking and trash cans. The walk is well maintained - about half paved and half old wooden pier. At dusk you can see lots of fish jumping at the edges of the grass patches in the shallow areas of the Bay, and you hear click clacks of crabs in the salt flat behind you. Nice bird watching too. Constant breeze/wind off the bay means it feels GREAT after a sunny beach day, but I could imagine being very cold in other weather.

Google
A really great place to watch sunset and/or sit and relax. Plenty of parking by the road, just before the park. We got to see a really pretty sunset although the clouds came in just as the sun was about to disappear. I would advice wearing covered clothes as there are flies and bugs close to the water.

I can’t believe I lived in Charleston for almost 9 years without ever visiting this park/bridge. Wandered over here on a Saturday afternoon and wasn’t disappointed! Views are awesome in every direction, people were fishing, biking, walking… The park has a lot of character and it’s somewhat of a hidden gem I’d say. I will definitely be back with my camera for some sunset photos of the Charleston cityscape with the bridge!

Google
We go to the Old Bridge a few times a week to crab, fish, walk, yoga, paddleboard and kayak. It’s such a beautiful and perfect place for everything! We love how much it offers for everyone no matter your interests. The breeze is typically perfect even on warm days. They could improve the kayak launch and make it easier for kayakers and paddlebaorders, but otherwise it’s great!

Pitt Street Bridge is a truly picturesque location that offers a delightful experience for visitors. As I strolled along the almost one-mile walkway, I was immediately captivated by the beautiful scenery that unfolded before me. The bridge is situated in a serene setting, surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking views. One of the things that make Pitt Street Bridge so charming is the diversity of activities taking place. I observed people engaged in various recreational pursuits, such as fishing, walking, and even practicing yoga. It's a place where people come to unwind and connect with nature, creating a harmonious atmosphere. It's also worth mentioning the presence of dogs, which added an extra level of joy to the surroundings. Different breeds of dogs could be seen accompanying their owners, and witnessing their playful interactions was a heartwarming sight. If you're a dog lover, you'll certainly appreciate the opportunity to meet and greet these furry friends. Pitt Street Bridge is a hub of activity, with individuals engaged in all sorts of recreational endeavors. From running and jogging to capturing Instagram-worthy pictures and creating TikTok videos, there's no shortage of things to do and sights to see. The bridge also caters to cyclists, providing an ideal route for a leisurely ride while taking in the scenic beauty. It's worth noting that the parking space for cars is limited, which indicates the popularity of this location. However, once you secure a spot, you'll find that spending anywhere from one to five hours is effortless. You can make the most of your time by engaging in activities like having a picnic, where you can enjoy the stunning views and embrace the tranquility of nature. Speaking of nature, the natural beauty of Pitt Street Bridge is truly remarkable. The surrounding greenery, coupled with the serene waters below, creates a mesmerizing backdrop. As I walked along the bridge, I even had the pleasure of witnessing flying fish, adding an element of surprise and wonder to the experience. In conclusion, Pitt Street Bridge offers a delightful escape into nature, providing a tranquil and picturesque setting for visitors. Whether you prefer a leisurely walk, engaging in recreational activities, spending quality time with your four-legged friends, or simply immersing yourself in the beauty of the surroundings, this location has something to offer for everyone. Just remember to arrive early to secure parking and be prepared to lose track of time as you soak in the serene atmosphere and stunning views that Pitt Street Bridge has to offer.

Google
I’m hesitant to give this place publicity cause it is one of Charlestons hidden gems. Even without the water, the park is beautiful. Even without the city, the water is beautiful. But when you add all those things to the gorgeous houses, boats, and wildlife all around, this place is amazing. Can’t wait to come for a sunset picnic!

Cheryl G.

Yelp
So peaceful Beautiful sunny day. Nice cool breeze. Birds in flight. The daylight is turning to dusk. Goodnight

Yelp
A space that somehow evaded my attention on numerous Charleston trips, this pier was reasonably easy to get to and park at, and offers views of the sunset facing towards the city. Archetypical marshland surrounds the path. Some large ships were in view, but far enough away so as not to block visibility of anything in particular, but simply to serve as a reminder of the clash of old and natural vs modern and artificial that characterizes the region. There was a water fountain and some seating. The surrounding neighborhood is purely residential, but businesses are not far away. Shem Creek has a bit more to offer but isn't as quiet, and when choosing a view in this area there are plenty of right answers.

Yelp
I can't believe I lived in Charleston most of my life (30+ years) without ever visiting this park/bridge! A friend told me about this amazing hidden gem in Mt. Pleasant. I went here on weekend dates and wasn't disappointed! Views are awesome in every direction with people fishing, walking, and kayaking. There's benches available, and you have plenty of space to bring a blanket or hammock. This place has a lot of character and I will be back to catch a sunset view of the marsh and Charleston peninsula!

Karen T.

Yelp
An interesting walk/park, as it is a narrow strip that lets you see the marsh and waterways. No bathroom facilities (not even port-a-john) so plan before you go, but it is a different type of walk. Not as nice as say Shem Creek or the Mt Pleasant Waterfront park, but still worth a visit.

Haneen O.

Yelp
What a great spot! After breakfast, this was our first stop around town. We parked on the side of the road and walked down the path to the boardwalk. It was a quiet day, not too many folks around, beautiful weather. Cool to see the Arthur Ravenel bridge from here. Some ducks and birds hanging around, looking for food. This is a spot for fishing and it was interesting to read the limits they have on the types of fish you can catch, the size, and quantity. Couldn't believe the limit on dolphins was 10! This is a free area to visit so we love to see that!

Jeffery B.

Yelp
Awesome place for a walk, to check out beautiful views of the harbor. Several benches to sit and relax and have a coffee or breakfast or lunch. Very dog friendly! Hard to call it a "hidden" gem, but given its location deep in a residential area, it's nowhere as crowded as it could be.

Anthony S.

Yelp
I went out exploring around Mount Pleasant, SC and found this neat little area. The Pitt Street Bridge is a historical landmark. Granted it has been mostly updated to make it safe for people to go and walk down. You can take in the scenery, fish, have a picnic or just go for a walk. It is pet friendly. The Pitt Street Bridge also has some great views for photos. You can see the Charleston harbor and city. There are some great views of the Ravenel Bridge and Fort Sumter. You also have an excellent view of Sullivans Island. While on the bridge I saw plenty of fish jumping. There are also plenty of birds in this area for anyone who is a bird watcher. This is a great place to go and get some good views. If you do go parking is along the side of the street with one parking spot all the way up front at the entrance to the walkway for handicap. It is also free. I will visit here again.

Robert E.

Yelp
An awesome, Old Village hidden gem that offers stunning views at almost any hour. Definitely worth a visit.

Lindsay G.

Yelp
It's a short walk and the views are worth it. There's limited parking right before you approach the sidewalk. There seem to be quite a few locals who fish here in the evening.

Savannah H.

Yelp
I went here tonight around sunset. I've never been here before but I've had it bookmarked on Yelp for a while. I decided today was the day to check this place out! The drive is nice and if you use directions through Yelp, you get almost all the way to where you need to be. You'll find it. Once you find the walking path, you'll notice signs directing you to not park on the left side. So park on the right side. Walk a little ways and you'll find some great scenery. There's water to either side of this little bridge that goes absolutely nowhere. The bridge literally just randomly ends in the middle of the water. I guess it's more of a pier these days. I saw tons of people walking their dogs out here. I guess the dogs really like it. There's grass around and nature and I'm sure the dogs and the people agree this is the best spot to take walks. You can see the Ravenel Bridge to one side and the Don Holt bridge to the other side. It's very pretty out here. I definitely recommend checking out this place if you're looking for somewhere to just chill or walk around for an hour and look at beautiful nature. It's a nice little park area. Don't forget your dog!

Florence X.

Yelp
Was trying to find some new places to walk through when the weather got nicer and someone mentioned this cute little bridge! Great for a grad photoshoot or any photoshoot in general golden hour here is no joke! You get to see Sullivan island, ravenel bridge and do some great bird watching. We ran into a couple that specifically made a pit stop here in Charleston just to bird watch. I had no idea it was such a big deal here in the Lowcountry ‍I wish I had a better camera for it we definitely found some interesting birds with their help!

Emily A.

Yelp
It's a gorgeous piece of history that isn't overrun by tourists. Beautiful water view and you can see the city of Charleston and the Ravenel Bridge while sitting and relaxing on the provided benches. Worth the drive.

Chrissy F.

Yelp
Hands down the best place to catch a sunset with views of the marsh + peninsula. I love the scent of salty air with a hint of pluff mud and how I get some of the most stellar nature photos here thanks to the sky + clouds. There's benches available or you can find ample space to bring a blanket or a hammock. You can also bring your kayaks and paddle boards - there's some spots where you can access the water to trek through the inlet. Some folks also fish here too!

Elise D.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to come hang out, have a picnic, or just sit by the water. We came here fishing last weekend and there was a lot of people out riding their bikes, having picnics, and soaking up the sun. There was a nice breeze coming off the water, so it wasn't too hot. They also allow pups, so of course we brought ours. We didn't have any problem parking and it's not a far walk at all to the actual bridge/ places to sit on a bench and hang out. Definitely recommend bringing a beach chair if you don't want to hang out on the benches. It was a great fishing spot, especially if you're looking for crabs! The views are so pretty and we will definitely have to come back for a sunset. If I'm looking to soak up the sun somewhere and I don't feel like going all the way to the beach, this is where I'll come!

Jeff H.

Yelp
A great place for sightseeing, walking the dogs, and sunsets. This is also an awesome place for family pictures. The fishing here is pretty active and there's a lot of wildlife everywhere you look. Definitely one of my favorite to go while in the mt pleasant area.

Mark L.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot to walk, kayak, fish, picnic, have a romantic drink, watch the sunset over the Charleston Harbor and basically escape life. Located in the Old Mount Pleasant, this park is situated in the heart of residential homes. The park itself is long and narrow and no cars are allowed on the sidewalk or grassy knolls. There are a number of spots to launch a kayak into the marsh or harbor and little fishing spots right off the bridge. In the distance you can see Sullivan's Island and the Cooper River Bridge. This park is just a few miles off of Coleman Blvd and 3 miles from Sullivan's Island. If you come by, stop at the Old Pitt Street Pharmacy for a milk shake. This is one of the nicest quiet places in all of Mount Pleasant.

Scotty C.

Yelp
I am embarrassed for missing out on this amazing spot for such a long time. I was invited to a get together out there for the 4th of July. I stopped by the day before to scope things out and was shocked at how cool this little park was. I knew I would definitely be back the next day. Although our group of six was meeting up with a larger group, we set up off to the side of where they all were. Even though it was the fourth, there was still plenty of space to be had. Some friends had their own fireworks plans fowled up by the shutting down of Patriots Point after a certain time so the group of 15 joined us at the park and had no problem finding space. The whole area is stunningly beautiful and you have views in literally every direction. From the "bridge" you can see IOP, Sullivans, Downtown, West Ashley and more. After the sun set, the fireworks started up. There weren't any professional fireworks here but people made their own show down in the marsh. You're not really close to any of the fireworks but you can see them all. It was crazy to see somewhere between 6 and 8 full on fireworks displays in all different directions. The only downfalls is that parking is really tough because it's just a residential neighborhood and if you're out there for quite a while, as we all were for the fourth, there are NO bathrooms ANYWHERE! Not event if you walk all the way back to the front... there are no stores nearby or anything. Otherwise... best fourth ever!

Evan G.

Yelp
The Pitt Street Bridge in Mount Pleasant is a great park that has wonderful views of the water and of the Charleston harbor. I like that you can walk so far out on the water and have 360 views of the marsh and can see from so far out. This park is very well maintained and taken care of and is usually not too crowded and I have been able to find on street parking every time that I have been here. This is a beautiful spot to visit year round and experience nature and the water.

Alanna B.

Yelp
My favorite new place to walk. I came to the little island park by myself and watched the sun set right into the marsh, it was stunning. There's plenty of dog friends. I got a parking spot no problem, but as I was leaving there was just a line of cars on the road. Be prepared to just pull up in a neighborhood and there's just a bridge to walk. Perfect at sunset and for pictures of the marsh. I suggest bringing a blanket and a nice camera. 10/10 would recommend.

Ashton M.

Yelp
Pitt Street Bridge has unbeatable views of the Lowcountry. It's a dog-friendly space and fun to take a nice walk. Downsides are the scarcity of parking and lack of bathrooms.

Erika W.

Yelp
I think my fellow Yelpers have pretty much covered why this place is so awesome: nice walk and fab views. I will definitely be adding this to my list of places to take visitors!

Maura L.

Yelp
Great place to catch some blue claw crabs. Go 2 hours before high tide and you will get many crabs at a time. We went tonight and easily Caught 2 dozen crabs! Great pace to watch sunset also!

G G.

Yelp
Love this place. Great repurposing of centuries-old facility that is utilized and enjoyed by many. Breathtaking views of the water, bridges, birds. Pelicans seem to fly so close! Folks use the space for walking, running, fishing. Everyone is respectful and responsible. Pets encouraged, just leash them and pick-up. My thanks to those who make this place possible.

Joan M.

Yelp
I am forever looking for a beautiful sunrise or sunset. Tonight I found this place after been told that I needed to check it out. So off I went with WAZE my friend ! I arrived at this rickety bridge where some cars were parked. I parked & got out to walk. What a surreal glorious hidden spot. It's breathtakingly beautiful. A glorious evening with people walking their dogs & kids, along a Palmetto lined portion of the bridge, no room for cars here. All that can be heard are the fish flopping out of the water, the birds & the general noises coming from the marsh on the other side. They have benches lining the short walk to sit & take it all in. The view of The Ravenel Bridge, The Peninsula & Sullivan's is just stunning. I might add, this place is pristine clean & it's obvious that people are very proud of it & therefore take care if it. I will definitely return here many many times.

Michael B.

Yelp
Just like all the other reviewers have said; Pitt Street Bridge is one of most beautiful hidden gems of Mt. Pleasant and the Charleston area. It's a great place to come for a short walk, bring your dog, launch a kayak into the stream, throw a line out, or just sit and watch the sunrise or sunset. So if you are looking for a place to bring that special someone for a romantic picnic or sunset wooing or just a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature then Pitt Street Bridge is the place to come.

Timothy A.

Yelp
This is a beautiful place to come for a walk, run, or to just enjoy the scenery. I came upon this unintentionally, but had heard about it from many fellow Yelpers. Several benches line the walk so that you can sit and enjoy a book, take some pictures, or just watch the wildlife. Parking is a little limited, but I had no problem finding a spot. This is definitely part of Mt Pleasant that should be enjoyed by anyone who loves the outdoors, nature, and walking / running. The marsh is full of wildlife, boats, sunsets, sunrises, or just the people out there fishing for dinner.

Samantha I.

Yelp
This is one of the prettiest places in the city! I know so many couples that get engaged here. I love going for a walk at this spot because you can see everything - downtown, Fort Sumter, the bridge, Sullivan's Island...there's always a good mix of people here too (fishing, dog walking, running, kayaking, etc). If you haven't been before, you NEED to go. Like now.

Brian M.

Yelp
Great place for a casual walk and/or run. Typically will walk from Alhambra Hall to Pitt st Bridge and back, which is about 2 miles. Also good place to walk your dog, fish from the bridge and have seen lots of folks enjoy a picnic there. It's normally pretty busy from 5-8 on weekdays and consistently busy on the weekends. Nice views of the Ravenal Bridge and surrounding marshes.

Meg T.

Yelp
Looking for a relaxing place to walk in the busy Charleston area? The Pitt Street Bridge is such a quiet gem in Mount Pleasant's Old Village. I love taking a drive over there and seeing all the adorable homes. My only suggestion is to watch every street and alley; the kids who live there will literally ride their bikes into the middle of street and do not pay attention to traffic. Once you get to the bridge, you can park on the right side of the road for free and walk up to the water. The bridge used to connect Mt P with Sullivan's but is now a great fishing pier (I love seeing the giant blue crabs people catch) and a perfect picnic spot.

Paul S.

Yelp
Love this place, such a peaceful tranquil spot to walk, bike or fish. The fishing pier is good with lots of spaces to throw out a line or drop a pot for the abundant crab. Fish range from sea trout and flounder, lots of pin fish and northern puffer for the kids to catch. Be self sufficient when you visit as there are no nearby facilities, but well worth the visit!

Deb B.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful and hidden sites in all of Charleston. It is a bird-watchers paradise! A must see.

Holly F.

Yelp
Our family was visiting and stopped here to observe the beautiful sunset and view of the bridge. This is a much see if you are in the area!

Jonpaul S.

Yelp
What a beautiful place to visit! When you arrive you have to park on the street, so take the first one you see! People are kayaking, people are fishing and crabbing, and people are enjoying the best view in town. As we walked down the pier we even had the opportunity to see a huge sea lion swimming along side of us as we strolled down the walk way (see pitcture) I 100 percent will recommended this to anyone from around here or visiting!

Taylor T.

Yelp
This is such a nice place to take a walk on a beautiful day. And judging by the many people you'll find here on any given day, I think it's safe to say that I'm not alone in that assessment. The walk is easy and the view is beautiful. Parking can get a little tricky because it is fairly limited, but it's worth the extra walking distance to get to the bridge, if necessary. The drive through the Old Mount Pleasant neighborhoods to get to the bridge is also a beautiful adventure of its own. The houses are gorgeous and will definitely induce some pangs of envy. All around, an beautiful spot to spend a weekend afternoon or bring some guests visiting from out of town!

Max M.

Yelp
This evening time truly was good out on the Pitt Street Bridge, and as the lady with me noted, I was a good Boy Scout to have brought a [small LED] flashlight. Walk out to the end of the Pitt Street Bridge (built around 1920 and originally went from the Old Village area of Mt. Pleasant to Sullivan's Island) look at the marsh, hear and see a dolphin breaking the dark (it was night time, remember) water, watch a fisherman going home after the dark has set in, see a lighted small boat cruise by, and stand (although there are indeed benches there all over the place) and talk, enjoying the smell of the water, the quiet conversation and the walk.. Great place for all of the above.

Michael M.

Yelp
Looking for a fabulous scenic view, then head to the Pitt Street Bridge. Hidden in Old Mount Pleasant, it is easy to get to (Google it), and just park on the side. Then you can get out and enjoy the open air, the sun, the view and just relax. There are always others here too, walkers, joggers, dog walkers, bike cyclists, and all. We enjoy coming here to walk outside in our beautiful low country, and you can see so much here. There are a few benches to sit and enjoy, or just bring your own chair. To one side you get the view of Charleston harbor, and see the bridge in the distant. The other side is all coastal marsh with the marsh grass standing tall in the wind and the pluff mud down below. There is also a fishing pier at the end for all, it almost goes right to the waterway. We usually end up taking pics, every time we come here. The best time is around sunset, so bring your phone/camera. We love the Low Country, so come enjoy!

Kelly K.

Yelp
This is a great little slice of nature nestled in the Old Village area of Mt. Pleasant. Slightly tucked away and hard to find, it's worth the look! There is no parking lot, just the shoulder of the (somewhat narrow) road where people park all along the way towards the entrance of the park. It's a decent distance from the parking area to the pier, you definitely don't want to forget something in your car and have to go all the way back for it (speaking from experience...). With that said, there's a great paved walking trail from the road to the pier and grass all along the way. Lined with palm trees, it's the perfect place to hang an Eno and swing in the harbor breezes. You'll see people fishing, picnicing, posing for pictures, exercising, kayaking, walking their dog, and everything in between. Lots of residents in the area have golf carts that they ride out here. One time after my BF and I had hauled (too much) fishing gear out to the end of the pier and were making our way back and friendly local offered us a ride (alongside his dog) in his golf cart. We very much appreciated his kind gesture! Several times I have seen kids swimming in the creek on both sides of the bridge. There is actually a raised dock/tower of sorts that a group of kids were swimming over to and jumping off. It's pretty high, and they clearly knew the depths of the surrounding water, but it was still pretty nerve wracking to watch!

Stephanie F.

Yelp
Very cool and such a great concept. This place is wonderful to go on a walk or ride your bike or walk your dog or to just chill and watch the sunset or picnic.

Amy Lauren S.

Yelp
This bridge is on my Tues/Thursday morning running route with my run club. It's a great place to run or walk your dog, as it is well lit, populated, and obviously very beautiful. If you want a little exercise with a side of Charleston beauty, I recommend a walk or jog on the Pitt Street Bridge. Good for watching the sunrise (there's nothing like it!) and pictures too!

Liz J.

Yelp
This place is a dream date spot. A casual walk watching people fish, ride bikes, and read books overlooking the water. What a place! You can get a great view of Sullivan's Island and Charleston. You have to bring your loved one here!

Nataliya M.

Yelp
I only wish id known about this years ago! It is absolutely stunning. Very clean and refreshing. Took the kids for a walk and they didnt want to leave absolutely amazing views of sullivans island and the peninsula. Great place for fishing and crabbing. We saw many photographers out taking wedding/engagement pictures. Since the first time weve frequented this hidden gem many times!

Nicole J.

Yelp
If you are looking for a spot to walk around and blow off some steam, or just feel the beauty of all that is around you, this is the place to go in Mount Pleasant. I think the best part about Pitt Street Bridge is getting there.. Who doesn't enjoy a nice drive through the Old Village of Mt. P? No speeding though, and pay attention when driving the narrow streets- there are lots of people out with their children or walking their dogs! We explored the area on a Sunday after brunch and encountered tons of people kayaking, fishing and just having a good time! There are benches along the bridge, providing ample opportunity to sit down, take a load off and enjoy everything happening around you. Because we came on a busier day, there wasn't much wildlife around, though I can imagine this place has all kinds of aviary life that hangs around when it is a bit quieter. Would be a great spot for a picnic or to watch 4th of July fireworks!

Clarence J.

Yelp
The Pitt Street Recreation Area is a beautiful park, encompassing a long pedestrian-only path through a grassy, palm-lined area and onto half of the location of the former Pitt Street Bridge. Tidal flats and a large salt marsh lie on each side of the park, and the West side overlooks Charleston Harbor and the city. People are walking, jogging, biking, walking dogs, fishing, resting on the many benches, and just generally enjoying the beautiful location. It's a wonderful place to watch the sunset, and, as Deb B. said, it's also a great place for birdwatching. I will be sure to visit again any time I'm in the Charleston area!

Loretta J.

Yelp
Of all the beauty in Mount Pleasant, this ranks highly. As others have said, it is not the venue for running your 7 minute mile. It is a place for an early morning stretch or an evening picnic. The casual fishermen seem to love the bridge and it is an amazing place to put in the kayak. I have witnessed adorable pop up weddings and seen some of the most gorgeous coastal birds enjoy the marsh and bay. This place is truly special.

Rebecca S.

Yelp
If you're like me, I'm always looking for new running spots when I'm traveling for work. And While this area is absolutely beautiful especially around sunset, it's not the best running trail. You can extend your run by running in the surrounding neighborhood and take in all the beautiful South Carolina homes but the Pitt Street bridge is probably best suites for leisurely strolls to take in the views.

Mark P.

Yelp
A comparable experience to the Bridge to Nowhere, Pitt Street is overrated. Being near the heart of Mount "Plastic" and in view of Sullivan's Island, perhaps the snob appeal buoys what is quite literally a bridge to nowhere. While the comparable one near Rutledge and the King Street Extension is an actual bridge, a place to be alone and/or experience wide open spaces apart from the city while still close enough to the comforts of home, Pitt Street is like a platform or a stage, a place to be seen. Oh, there are stunning landscapes, to be sure, and compared to the other bridge to nowhere which offers no views of Charleston landmarks, this one offers several. The bridge itself has great out-rigged balconies where you can seem to float within the landscape, take pictures, fish and crab, or just watch people. However, Pitt Street is not easily a place to be alone or free yourself from the shopping mall of society. It struck me more like an aquarium in a way, a stroll through a social experience which happens to have a background of marsh and estuary landscapes. Add to this the relatively unwelcoming wealthy residential area adjacent, creating limited parking should you be able to find a spot, and you have what can seem like a plastic experience tailored for local residents, rather than an immersive escape separate from the social confines of the city. All that said, I do like Pitt Street and enjoy it on its own terms. Go with friends, family, or a date.

Janet L.

Yelp
This was a great area to see a special place in Mount Pleasant. On the way by bike, we stopped and saw the old village in MP. It was a treat along with seeing historic signs about the history and the lovely old estates.

Liza E.

Yelp
I wish we would have gotten here earlier in the day. We arrived at dusk and just got a glimpse of the coolness of this place. Great hiking and picnic options with beautiful views. Definitely looked like a local flavor type of place undiscovered by the mobs of tourists that we'd been hit with at other locations we toured on our roadtrip.

Adam C.

Yelp
Pitt Street is gorgeous and full of history. While you can no longer walk all the way to Sullivan's Island, this hidden gem in Mount Pleasant takes you far enough out for a spectacular view of the bridge and the Peninsula. Parking right at the begging of the old bridge is free, but if you're a runner, you can start running from Coleman and run out to the tip and back to get a couple of miles in. There is a canoe/kayak ramp to get in and out of the water and you are able to fish/crab off the bridge on the end. There are several benches along the walk. I've even seen people hang their Eno hammocks between some of the palm trees. This is the perfect place to have a picnic or take someone new to Charleston!
