New is always nice. The new terminal is modern, open, and bright with lots of natural and artificial lighting. The new TSA area and scanning equipment made security fast and efficient. There’s just a tad more walking than the old airport, but not as much as several other airports. Also the gate area restrooms have been modernized. Could use more upscale restaurants and openers in the gate area. Now it just needs more traffic.

Google
NEW Airport buiding, excellent improvements. 1. Rental car return is awesome, close to building and spaciously beautiful. 2. Enterance is open colorful and very spacious. 3. Star Gate Enterance, leaving security and heading to Gates is very inspiring tunnel, as if really ready to Travel, through a Star Gate. Awesome upgrade, excellent workmenship and a very visible work of art. Thank you !!

Mitch L.

Google
Flew in on Friday evening it was busy but easy to get around. Flew out Monday. Easy to return our rental car and find where we needed to go. TSA was quick lots of people in line but got through in a hurry.

Google
New terminal is great! Came very very early and had no trouble & it’s my first time flying solo. When you enter the airport, on the left and right are all of the different airlines for checked bags. Clear signage. Friendly staff all around! Then you funnel in towards the middle for TSA. Quick and streamlined in the early hours of the AM. For nursing mothers, here is a video of the nursing room (with changing table, diaper pail, comfortable seat, table, outlets, a sink, AND a bottle warmer!) - hope it eases your mind. I do recommend getting dropped off if available to you - I have heard this is much easier.

Google
The new terminal is very nice and super modern, but the lines at TSA at 5am where surprisingly long and very slow. It took us 27min at TSA Pre to pass security. The TDA Pre line kept getting longer and by the time we got to the checkpoint, it was extending way past the queue area into the check-in counters.

Google
It’s been years since I flew out from this Airport so didn’t recall what it will be look like when I was driving from Erie PA to this airport to get to my other destination for work. But to be frank Gas station ( 7-eleven / Sunoco) right before you drop off your rental, and then just cross the road to get to the terminal. So i would say it’s very convenient and easy to navigate. Once enter inside airport easy to find your airlines ticket counter and after dropping bags heading straight to TSA Pre. Airport is so empty it’s seems like and not as crowded as you are seeing at O’hare , atlanta , Charlotte and other major Airport. Had short flight ✈️ from Pittsburgh to IAD.

Google
The new Pittsburgh airport terminal is certainly beautiful — but unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. One of the best parts of flying in and out of Pittsburgh used to be the convenience: easy parking, a quick walk to the terminal, and reliably fast security. That experience has changed dramatically. Today, despite having only two people ahead of me, it took nearly 25 minutes to get through CLEAR TSA PreCheck. The new security system operates much like those in some major EU airports, where bins from passengers behind you can move ahead of yours on the belt so you are standing and waiting to push your tray onto the belt while sometimes 4-5 people behind you find a gap first. There’s no clear logic to the order in which containers are pulled, creating unnecessary confusion and frustration as people try to usher their belongings along. Multiple passengers — myself included — were flagged for “large bottles” that fully met TSA guidelines. Even the TSA agent admitted the machines repeatedly misinterpret item sizes. While I understand these scanners are meant to be state-of-the-art and ultimately improve safety, the growing pains are obvious, and both travelers and TSA staff seem equally frustrated. Accessibility has also taken a hit. The setup is not handicap-friendly: there are no people movers between the garage and the terminal, and parking is now off-site, requiring a shuttle ride just to reach the building. Travelers should expect to add 45 minutes to an hour to their trips simply to get from parking to the terminal. Overall, the new airport feels like a vanity project that overlooked the practical needs of the people using it. At the end of the day, we don’t need glamour — we need to get where we’re going safely, efficiently, and without unnecessary hassle.

Google
This airport is old, outdated, a bit dingy and currently has construction going on. One major complaint is that the limited food options available all close super early. If you have a late flight, you do not have many options beyond a skeezy sports bar and a little convenience store. Getting through security is a bit slow going, so allow yourself a little extra time. The baggage area is dirty, but one bonus here here is the array of rental car counters. It is very easy to pick up and drop off rental cars here.

Yelp
It's almost open !!! We got a preview No more Tram Bigger tsa Better parking ! Wow it's looking epic

Yelp
Large. Tram. Efficient. Pretty clean. A few cool local places on site like Wigle distillery. We had shake shack and Jimmy Johns. Not very local. It had what we needed: our plane, some food and bathrooms. Did the job! (The TSA agents were very nice to our kids.)

Yelp
As of September 2025, the Pittsburgh International Airport was almost done with a $1.6-billion Terminal Modernization Program. According to the airport's website, this program will include a new terminal facility, multi-level parking garage, and entrance roadways. The new terminal will have separate levels for departing and arriving passengers, and it will contain additional space for TSA checkpoints, concessions, baggage claims, etcetera. This airport has mostly domestic flights and only a handful of direct international flights. Current airlines include Air Canada, Alaska, Allegiant, American, Breeze, British, Delta, Frontier, Icelandair, JetBlue, Southwest, Southern, Spirit, Sun Country, and United. When I am planning my flights, I usually have to purchase connecting flights in larger airports such as New York, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Chicago, Houston, etcetera. Currently, this airport has over a couple dozen casual restaurants and about one dozen retail stores. My husband and I have flow in and out of this airport since 2013. Our most recent flights were in September 2025. My husband and I easily found a parking space for our vehicle in the long-term lot. The British Airways employees could have communicated more clearly during our check-in. We had no problems with going through the TSA checkpoint. Our meal at a restaurant had good foods and service. I look forward to the opening of the newly remodeled airport in the near future.

Yelp
This is an easy airport to fly into, the wait times were short on a Friday afternoon, and I hear the new renovations will be available next week where one will not have to ride a train to baggage claim. I love how easy it is to get a rental car as well. My husband Deven told me that the prices of the stores are the same as outside the airport.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Virtually no waiting at TSA precheck on an early Saturday morning, but did have a brief wait for the tram to the terminals. Was at the gate in no time after stopping for some breakfast along the way.
google avatar

Yelp
Undergoing quite the transformation now in 2025, PIT plans to maintain its charm with Franco Harris and other classic Steelers memorabilia, along with Aerospace relics for the nerdy Air travelers. Although no additions are anticipated to the existing one-hundred (100) gates, logistics improvements to both Standard and PreCheck screening lines for TSA checkpoints should make things flow much more smoothly than ever before. Can't wait go transit through the new Main Terminal!

Yelp
We flew in recently for a wedding and planned a crazy day of travel .. we planned to stay in the airport overnight until our 5:30am flight. We unfortunately didn't know at the time that security closed at 10:30pm and we arrived at 10:45. Instead of getting to stay near the gates we had to stay on the outside of security unfortunately. We noticed several workers restocking and loading things all night. We didn't see much cleaning of that area (and I did end up getting sick after this experience). When security did open at 3am (dispute all the signs around saying 2:30), TSA wasn't open and you could opt to wait for them to open or go through the general line and take off your shoes. All in all the experience was okay but I wish there was more info posted about open/close times.
google avatar

Rob B.

Yelp
I was here last month for a flight to EWR to layover for a trip to PR. It was a late flight which I hate because everything here closes too early which means I typically have to sit around with nothing to do but I happened to come a little early to enjoy some beers before my flight. TSA was smooth and the airport wasn't too packed. I flew United and they have a couple bars in that concourse which I always take advantage of if they aren't too packed. I stopped by Local Craft Kitchen and Bar and Penn Brewery since they were right beside my gate. Pittsburgh International is a small but great airport. I just hope the construction is done soon and they get some more restaurants and bars to stay open later. Safe travels

Yelp
I'm both impressed by this airport but also a little sad. I'm pressed mostly by how nice TSA is here. Going through security is more pleasantly than probably most any other airport. They have a good selection of food options and it's pretty spacious. But I'm also a little sad because like Cincinnati's major airport, you can tell it was once more lively and busy. It just seems like a shell of a once major airport.
google avatar

Jada C.

Yelp
It's an airport. It was a little difficult to navigate. I entered through the Southwest Airlines door. It was hard to find TSA. Once I located them, the wait time was unlike any other. I've been spoiled w short wait times. Nope. I would have missed my flight if it wasn't for an employee informing us about another TSA line, 5 walking minutes away. I had nothing to lose so I went. THAT was awesome!! Great food and beverage options on the terminal. Nice gift and apparel shops. Seating options could be more plentiful. Overall, this airport is ok. Just ok for now.
google avatar

Angie H.

Yelp
Arrived very early for my flight, and I'm so glad I did. The line for security was out the airport doors and down the walkway to the garage. It was insane. I mean, open up more than one security line. I'm very certain there were people that missed their flights.
google avatar

Alice W.

Yelp
Decent airport! Easy to navigate. It looks like there's a lot of construction going on, so I assume they're making updates to the airport. My flight was delayed which was frustrating, but they have a lot of food options. They also had CLEAR and TSA precheck!
google avatar

Tanya Y.

Yelp
The pros of this airport are that it has all the major airlines and car rentals, it's easy to get in and out of, there's tons of food options, and although it's large, it's not a terribly busy airport. Con wise... it honestly feels kind of dirty (regardless of where I went), the construction areas to baggage are maze like, even during the day the lighting doesn't feel adequate in a lot of spaces, and there's no United Club (personal preference but there are enough United flights here that I can only blame both United and the airport). This airport is a bit drab. The train, the floors, the walls, the chairs, the escalators... everything feels at one point it was nice but now it's past its prime. It's a large enough airport that it could put more effort into its aesthetics. There could be more effort in the art aspects of it so when you arrive, you're actually happy to be there. It's not a bad airport. It gets the job done. It just has room for improvement.
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
It's an airport.. what else can I say... they all have positive things and they all have negative things.. this one has very clean and well lit bathrooms (positive) and some of the seating has been renewed for much more comfortable waiting areas. Look for the newer high back seats with charging capabilities. The food choices are pretty much fried or fried with French fries on top... in some restaurants in this airport it's fried with cheese on top... not great variety. TSA pre-check is efficient so that's a positive. There is a Starbucks in the C gate area another positive.
google avatar

karina k.

Yelp
Like this airport bc it's small and efficient. The Pittsburgh international people movers train or airport train has only 1 stop between gates and security so it's easy you can get lost. The rental car area is easily accessible by foot and no need for a shuttle. Just enough food places and bars to enjoy as well as an American Airlines Admirals Club where you pay $850 per year with 2 free guests as of 2-16-2025 for unlimited food and signature drinks and snacks. For a one day pass it's $79 a day. Back to this airport.. cool transformer display and lots of pics of nostalgic Pittsburg. It's been renovated as of just the last 3 years. It's more modern but still has the touch of the small town feel. Plus they have auto hand washing stations near the airport train. It doesn't wash your hands w soap but it's still better than nothing and you just put your hands inside.
google avatar

Shailesh J.

Yelp
I had to catch a flight from here traveling back home and here is the summary of my experience. One of the best things here is that you are just across the road from your rental car drop. what it means is that you can just drop your car, walk across the road and enter the airport. I also liked the fact that they showed the current wait times for general and TSA passengers at the gate. They also have a life-size T-Rex near an escalator. Another thing that is really good and helpful is that their train has just one stop and then you can branch out to multiple gates so you don't have to take multiple gate rides. Now coming on to things which can be improved: 1) They have just one line for general passengers which quickly grew big. I was lucky to cross it in 10 mins but I am worried about other passengers during rush hours. 2) Another small thing is that they have their gates on the ground floor while the airlines' front desk is on the next floor which can be confusing for passengers with luggage. Apart from these points, my experience was great, and would definitely visit it again for the ease of rental car drop and quick access to flight gates.
google avatar

Paul P.

Yelp
Flying in and out of Pittsburgh is always a good experience. The construction occurring recently in both the terminal and the roadways are a bit of an inconvenience, but temporary for future improvement, right? TSA folks are decent, food and drink availability is good! Checking in and baggage claim works pretty seamlessly. No worries here.
google avatar

Sarah I.

Yelp
Really decent airport. Large and spacious and very user friendly. Everything is well signed posted, it is clean, and there are stuff around to help guide you. Traveling is easy for travelers.
google avatar

Yelp
I traveled through the Pittsburgh Airport to attend a baby shower for my niece. I arrived on a Thursday evening and went home on Sunday morning. When I arrived Thursday, the terminal was pretty empty. After hopping on the train and coming out of security and heading to my rental car desk, there were lots of people renting cars and picking up their bags. When I arrived Sunday morning, I dropped off my rental car and headed to security. I was shocked to find a very long line for TSA Precheck. It took roughly 30-40 minutes to get through security. There was only one TSA agent working the line and one working a Clear line. There was an agent walking past our line every few minutes asking if anyone wanted to join Clear to get through security faster as that line was shorter. No thank you, as I've already paid for Precheck. Once I made it through security, I hopped on a train and went to my terminal. Terminal A was about a 10 minute walk from the train. And of course, my gate was the last one lol. Now that I know how to navigate the Pittsburgh Airport and to arrive at least two hours before my flight due to the long TSA Precheck line, my next trip will be much easier and less stressful.
google avatar

Matt H.

Yelp
It is an airport... I didn't have any other options, so you are kind of locked in. They are doing construction, so maybe in 6 months or so things will be different. There is a check-in hub connected via a train to the concourse hub, so things are centralized in 2 areas. We did have a big delay because a lightening strike halted baggage handling, so one person in our group was stuck for about 90 minutes waiting for his baggage. I was forced to check my carry on, and mine made it down before the pause (different airline, similar arrivals) so I guess the take away is to not check luggage if there are thunderstorms in the forecast.

Soldier O.

Yelp
Beautiful airport and all that, but the workers have absolutely no idea what they're doing when it comes to TSA rules. Every time I travel through while checking a firearm, there's some new super inconvenient rule, and they have no way of providing for you if you don't have what you need. Last time, it was that the ammo has to be in its original box, even though on my journey here, it was just in the magazines. This time, they told me a finger combination lock wasn't enough, even though, again, I traveled here with no problem before. And it wasn't a requirement last time I flew out of here either. They're always adding stupid stuff and none of them know what's going on. Until I asked TSA and they said everything was fine. They need to educate their workers and be consistent with their regulations. It was a huge inconvenience and I was almost late for my flight.
google avatar

Nat B.

Yelp
The Pittsburgh Airport is decent! Upon entering, you just follow the signs for security, and after that, there are clear directions to guide you to your gate. It would be great if they improve the upkeep of the airport. I always notice trash scattered around and can't recall a single moment where I thought, "Wow, this place is clean!" The airport has so much potential to impress tourists, but in its current state, it's gross and embarrassing.
google avatar

Sammie C.

Yelp
Legitimately one of the worst airports, maybe the worst I've ever been to. It is ridiculously run down (they are opening a new terminal), it looks like you're in a subway from the 1970's. The TSA line was by far the slowest I've ever seen. Like, make people miss their flight slow. I've been to much busier airports with far faster lines. At one point, the cattle call line AND the TSA Precheck line were out the door. The airport was not ridiculously busy, but the screening process was insanely slow. If you're not from Pittsburgh and are flying out of this airport, show up SUPER early. One bright side, rental car return was extremely easy.
google avatar

Kaylee B.

Yelp
I am traveling probably 3 times a month. I never have a problem at the airport. It's been under construction for some time now, I am looking forward to the new terminals. The airport is super easy to navigate. I only wish there were more options for food.
google avatar

Emely R.

Yelp
Easy airport to get around, bathrooms were clean, and they have different food options through the terminals. Both the Southwest and Delta terminal was great. Highly recommend especially if you have a transfer flight because it's a small enough airport to get around.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
I feel pretty lucky to say that I've never had a bad experience at the airport - whether it be security wait times, flight delays, etc. The worst part of the airport for me is parking! There's never enough & the shuttle is never running whenever I've been there. So that's frustrating. Otherwise, I think it's a pretty good airport with many dining options. They're currently under construction and adding a new terminal which will be exciting.
google avatar

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
If you are traveling to Pittsburgh it's the airport to use. Needs a United Club. There are a few places to get a decent beer.

Mark M.

Yelp
It's ok not great. I fly out of RDU which is much smaller but has better food options. I am not a germaphobe but the men's rooms are disgusting. They don't check underneath the toilet seat when they clean. Nor do they clean crevices like spots between the stall and the floor where "material" might accumulate. It's easy to get through but you have to check in at one building then take a train to your gate.
google avatar

Nichole B.

Yelp
The Pittsburgh International Airport is easy to maneuver. There is no way you will get lost. Right now it's under construction so there are minor inconveniences that could not be avoided. However, Pittsburgh International Airport needs to extend the hours of the restaurants inside the airport. I just flew out of Pittsburgh International Airport last week. My flight was to depart at 12:20 but due to weather, it was delayed six times and finally took off at 7:30 PM. I tried to find a place to sit down and have dinner and the restaurant all started closing around 6 PM by 7:00pm, they were closed. So if you are traveling and have an evening flight, have dinner before you get there. Overall, I had a great experience and would put the Pittsburgh International Airport at the top of my list.
google avatar

Laura F.

Yelp
Pretty chill and peaceful airport. Easy to navigate. My Biggest complaint is the food options. Pretty lack luster to say the least. Nothing the least bit healthy, even the sit down restaurants aren't that great. Everything fried. Also one sit down place doesn't even serve coffee past 10:30 , laughable. If you're trying to eat healthy or on a special diet; bring your own food. Advice to management: take cues and study food options at Newark, JFK and La Guardia. Offer more healthy options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free diets.
google avatar

Scott K.

Yelp
This airport has seen better and busier days when it was a hub for a major chain - now it's a bit off the beaten path and no longer thriving. It's undergoing renovation's so maybe will be more convenient afterwards. Rental cars are across from baggage claim super easy and convenient.
google avatar

Skip S.

Yelp
Easy to navigate from gates to baggage claim and transportation. Several choices for food and drink. If you're a Steelers fan you can imagine the options. Going to Admirals Club.
google avatar

Tracy P.

Yelp
I love the energy in this airport. Everyone was so nice, and very helpful. It is clean, well lit, and so welcoming. The airport is not obnoxiously large where it's easy to get lost, which is a vig deal for me. I was able to find my way from the gate to the Uber/Lyft pick up zones within ten minutes.
google avatar

Leah M.

Yelp
This airport is so small and all the restaurants are closed at 7pm when I'm here. They are redoing the air port so I hope it is nicer once done. It is always clean and kept up which is nice.

Yelp
Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is a significant air travel hub in the United States, located approximately 20 miles west of downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since its inception in 1952, the airport has evolved into a modern facility that handles both commercial and charter flights, catering to all the travel needs of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The history of PIT dates back to the 1940s when the site was selected as a military airbase. In 1952, it officially opened as Greater Pittsburgh Airport, later renamed Pittsburgh International Airport in 1972. Throughout the years, the airport has undergone numerous renovations and expansions, including a $1 billion rebuilding project in the 90's to accommodate the growth of US Airways as a major hub. Today, PIT serves as a base for various airlines, offering both domestic and international flights. Major carriers operating at the airport include American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines, among others. Additionally, charter services such as Allegiant Air and Spirit Airlines provide low-cost options for passengers, as well. PIT is known for its innovative design, which includes a Landside Terminal and an Airside Terminal connected by an automated people mover system. Their system, called the Pittsburgh International Airport People Mover, operates in two parallel tunnels and allows passengers to quickly access their gates. I am grateful because everything is far away from TSA check-in so a couple escalators and a train ride and I'm much closer to concourse for today's planned flight. (Note: I was flying first class which allowed me to check-in at the airline counter first, and there's also a special short line for 1st class passengers at TSA. That's huge because that line is insanely long) The airport also offers a range of amenities and services to enhance the travel experience. Travelers can enjoy a variety of dining options, from fast-food chains to sit-down restaurants, as well as numerous retail stores for shopping. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport, and charging stations are provided for passengers to stay connected. I gotta say I was pleased with all the Dunkin spots around but not sure about the bars being open at 6AM. I mean, as I strolled through PIT at the crack of dawn, I couldn't help but notice the surprising number of patrons already perched at the airport bar. With a beverage in hand and eyes still heavy with sleep, I'm thinking that it's some group like the "Breakfast of Brewskis Club." The bar's neon lights seemed to whisper, "It's 6 AM somewhere," as the dedicated early birds proved that in the world of air travel, there's no such thing as a wrong time for a little liquid courage. :-) Bottom line: This airport is a premier travel hub that provides an array of passenger services to ensure a convenient and comfortable journey. From information desks, airport ambassadors, and baggage assistance to accessibility accommodations and meet-and-greet services. The airport's innovative design features an efficient people mover system, connecting the Landside and Airside terminals, making it a top choice for modern travelers. Operating hours for PIT vary depending on the terminal and specific services. Generally, the airport is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with TSA security checkpoints opening at 4:00 AM and closing after the last flight. My experience with the TSA checkpoint was thankfully uneventful and the employees were generally patient and easy to navigate. To stay updated on airport news and announcements, travelers can visit the official PIT website at www.flypittsburgh.com or connect with the airport on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/flypittsburgh/

Yelp
I am spoiled to live in a major city in the United States. To me, Pittsburgh International Airport is a PIT, which needs major update and upgrade. First time here after deplaning, I saw a giant mess. Trying to find my way around to get some food and get to halt an Uber. There was no sign to tell me to take the Automatic People Mover train to "landside" from terminals aka "airside". I arrived on a Saturday afternoon. Most of eateries were closed. I saw this PGH Pizza but somehow, I couldn't smell the pizza from afar. Only after it's heated. Ok. It was so chewy. I felt like eating bubble gum. There are no refillable water fountain anywhere. I saw one old-fashioned drinking fountain between restrooms. I only fill it for absolutely emergency. The restrooms got the narrow entryway. I thought there was an exit on the other side. But no, just one. I had to let the other person go through before I enter. The flooring is made of small square tiles. Try to quietly walking on it. Try it. Everyone with rolling carry-on luggage made the da-dah-dah-dah noise drove me bunkers. That's why I said I'm spoiled. At Houston airport, smooth flooring is everywhere with occasional carpets. The charging stations are in short supply. I only saw a bank of electrical outlets on the bench between 2 gates. I heard the airport is under upgrade construction. I hope to see upgrades on my next visit.

Yelp
--Location/Parking-- I flew and usually ride the bus or Uber to get too downtown. You take the 20, which is the only bus that goes to the airport. Convenient and cheap. --Ambience-- Downstairs with the arrivals are plenty of couches and chairs to sit and relax. There is even a 24 hour 7-11 that is open with no doors to close the facility. Be warn the couches are very comfortable and you will see a lot of travelers using the chairs to sleep in. The 2nd floor with the TSA gates sandwich between a bar and a Dunken donuts is tight but efficient. There is very little space to sit and relax here outside of the TSA gates --Service/Staff-- The staff for an airport of this size was very friendly with the TSA letting me know the gates are open 24 hours, but you just can't bring any drinks across since there is no open restaurants or vending machines in the terminal if you are there late nights. --Capacity-- Gates and terminals have plenty of space to navigate around. Only the TSA terminal there seems to be only one entrance and it seems to bottle neck here, but I been fortunate enough to fly in and out of Pittsburgh without any TSA issues --Overall-- International Airport or PIT is unique because the TSA gate is 24 hours and there is a 7-11 downstairs which is a convenience store also open 24 hours. There is only one bus that goes to the airport, and the bus ticketing machine can be down sometimes.

Yelp
Let me say my Bourbon Old Fashioned was perfection! I had 90 minutes until time to board and decided to try Wigle. Wigle Whiskey is located in Gate A between 5 and 7 on the right-hand side. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed sitting there until it was time to go. She said that it is a Pittsburgh whiskey which can be ordered. She said they ship to 48 states. I had two of the Old Fashions before leaving. Definitely recommend. As for the airport, medium size with helpful, friendly employees. Please arrive a minimum of an hour before departure time. It usually is not too busy but doesn't chance. Security is simple.

Yelp
Son and I used this airport to fly in and out of. Coming in was no problem, but flying out was a little confusing on how to check in luggage (2nd floor). We waited in TSA check line before we realized we had to check luggage at a different location. Good thing we arrived early, because the lines in the morning were pretty long. Decent food selections through the airport.

Yelp
The parking experience has continued to go down hill since LAZ took over. Last time, pay stations in the airport were all non-functioning. Fixed now. Exit gates have all been separated by parking area. Yesterday it took 14 minutes to get through the exits. Big traffic backup, as machines/gates not working properly. No agent available to address the issues. Phone left off the hook. Allegheny County Airport Authority needs to hire a new parking agency. LAZ is clueless wrt customer experience.

Yelp
It's an airport. It's not great. It's not bad. Just a solid, a-ok airport. Easy enough to navigate and some moderate options for food and drinks. I have survived many long hours here.

Yelp
Considering that I am deathly afraid of flying, airports aren't exactly my happy place. This one, though, deserves awards for cleanliness, courtesy and downright efficiency. Everything is nicely organized. There are plenty of food/drink choices. And the employees here seem to give a damn.

Yelp
I was on vacation and flew in from this airport. First it was a medium size airport. It's pretty efficient because everything was well laid out and signs everywhere so you knew where you were going. This place was very clean. Everyone who worked there was helpful. The car rental location was easy to find. A lot of options of restaurants. This airport did not feel overcrowded or overwhelming like others. I had a great experience.

Yelp
Pittsburgh International Airport, formerly Greater Pittsburgh International Airport, is a civil-military international airport in Findlay Township and Moon Township, Pennsylvania, United States. About 10 miles west of downtown Pittsburgh, it is the primary international airport serving the Greater Pittsburgh Region as well as adjacent areas in West Virginia and Ohio.

Yelp
The airport is currently undergoing a $1.39 billion renovation which will include a new terminal for check-in, security, and baggage claim adjacent to the gates. The renovation will eliminate the need for the tram. I like trams so I will be sad to see this go. The signage to the gas station near the airport and the return rental car were easy to navigate even with the construction barricades and road closures. I do hope they make the signage for picking up the cars easier in the new airport . It took me 25 minutes to figure out where exactly the car rental facility was with relation from baggage claim. I thoroughly enjoyed the Tuskegee airmen and African American history of Pittsburgh exhibits on display in the airport.

Yelp
Used as a connection between LGA and MSP in a reroute pinch as a first time visit. The parts we went through were clean, modern & it was very easy to navigate, though it was so empty at 7pm, we were reminded of an old movie & kept an eye out for the Langoliers to swoop in. We didn't do any dining or shopping but saw there were several options. Staff were friendly to boot. No entry or exit, so, can't comment on that part.

Yelp
After reading a lot of these reviews, I decided that I need to clarify a few things. Firstly, PIT is undergoing renovations and construction of a new and modern terminal. I can't count how many times people complained about that. Just be patient! Another thing, the reason it looks 'dead' is because PIT is no longer a hub. before 9/11, PIT was a hub to USair (Now American Airlines). They however moved their hub to the much less efficient airport in Philadelphia. Now for the review. As a native, I have a soft spot for my hometown airport. It's a nice medium size and TSA looks busy but they move super fast! They have lovely trams that take you to the terminal super fast so hold on! I have flown in and out of here many times and every time I was met with staff that were happy to help and informative! PIT also captures the culture of the 'burgh! There are lots of mementos of the city! There was a Franco Harris immaculate reception statue which at the time of writing this is not there due to renovations. There is also several pictures and statues of other cool things Pittsburgh has to offer! All in all, I ask yinz to be patient with the new terminal because when it's done, it will blow you away!

Yelp
Just an absolute garbage heap of an airport. Inefficient, dumb decisions abound from the second one tries to park until one is mercifully freed of this burdensome pit of sorrow. A marring mark on an otherwise great city.

Yelp
As a fairly frequent global traveler, this is a well planned airport. I'm impressed with the layout. I live where we have a brand new, and still being constructed, airport that is not well planned. Yes, it's an older airport, but it is massive updating. There are no charging areas in the gates, but it's an older airport. Plan accordingly. It doesn't have what the newer airports do, but patience. It will. The lack of healthy food options is the downfall. Plenty of fast food greasy options. Trying to eat healthy is difficult at this airport.
