Pittsburgh Has a 3-day Pickle Festival—and You Can Ride a Mechanical Pickle, Eat Pickled Cannoli, and Enter a Pickle Juice Drinking Contest

"A festival vendor known for an over-the-top creation called the 'Meat Monster'—a hot dog stuffed into a hollowed-out pickle and wrapped in bacon—that exemplifies the festival's embrace of bold, indulgent, and novelty bites." - Angela Lian Angela Lian Angela Lian was the editorial intern at Travel + Leisure. Parking ($14) and tickets ($30) listed online were more expensive than at the door (normally other way around so my party of 4 was disappointed) The entertainment was 10/10. We loved the man writing our names in Irish and giving us the brief meaning behind each name, The Screaming Orphans, a harp player, and the Irish jig dancers to name a few. My chief complaint: the food. Could have had better (more authentic Irish) food options in my opinion!!!

Like walking on big rocks, loose rocks, or gravel? Go here, and you will be watching where you place your feet as you walk from one music venue to the next. There are no green spaces here, just backdrops of rusted steel industry reactors and left-over safety violations. It is $12 to park in the side lot and $20 per day to get in. Again this ticket gets in thru paid security guard inspections and the privilege to walk around on rocks while out of state vendors oggle you to buy something at their booths. Good luck..... and know that even authentic irish genetic linked people are very rare and usually have ginger/red hair and freckled complexion.

Wonderful time! Spent two days. We came for Garlic Storm and loved the rest. Ryan Young was amazing, the comedian Mike was great. They had a great line up of music and activities. They had authentic vendors from Ireland and those with just products from Ireland as well. I took the tour of the Steel Mill and our guide was very informative. It's a great activity to fill the three days if you go for the whole weekend. The food from many different vendors was all delicious. They put on a great event. I hope to go again.

My 1st time, and it was wonderful! Don't listen to the old reviews about parking as that was the old location. I paid the $12 to park and parking was SUPER close to the entrance while my bf paid for our tickets - and I can see exactly what the money goes toward. I don't understand the reviews thinking everything is free. Also the folks are volunteers, and I witnessed a patron verbally aggressive to them bc she thought her pen knife would be perfectly acceptable to get in. So, these are some of the reviews - ppl wanting free and ppl wanting to bring their knives in. Anyway, multiple stages of entertainment. We loved Ally the Piper with the backdrop being the old furnace. Multiple places for food and drink samples spread out as well as seating to eat at. If you've been to Picklesbugh, Soul food fest, you'll know that you mainly have to stand and eat your food. They had other entertainment like axe throwing, virtual reality, put put golf and a kids area. I was also delighted to see the Irish dogs there. I had the Irish stew over baked potato, and it was so large, I took it to go to finish for my dinner. So good! Also sampled some mead wine and whiskeys. Porta potties were clean although the sinks were out of order when we went Sunday.

It was a beautiful day for the Irish Festival. The people were so friendly, the food excellent and a lot of music. My only complaint is it is very hard walking because of the stones. There must be someway to clear the grass area of stones large enough to turn an ankle.
