Beautiful monastery and well worth the hype. There is a small outside chapel for praying and the monks were incredibly kind and happy to talk through the monasteries history. The gift shop was incredibly reasonable.

There is a lot of history and effort from the people for this region. The monastery was displaced due to the dam being built—the place of worship and nothing more.

Amazing monastery! The history behind it is so impressive! It was built during in 16th century, when it was prohibited to build Christian churches. By help of Mehmed Paša Sokolović it is achieved. 4centuries later, it has to be relocated since artificial lake project. As one of the most complex project in the world it is being done, not just stone by stone, but also the frescoes as well without damaging them. Quit and peaceful place absolutely worth of seeing. Strong recommendation!!!

Wonderfull monastery. Very interesting thing about monastery is that he is completely moved from his original location rock by rock and everything is preserved. You can see on every piece letters and markers from moving monastery. Surrounding is also wonderful. Monastery is very old.

On your way to Plužine you must visit Piva monastery! It is such a lovely place to take some rest and experience spiritual side of Montenegro. This monastery was built in 16th century and was moved to today's place during the building of the Mratinje dawn which flooded the canyon of the river Piva and created the today's lake. This monastery is deeply related to Plužine and has some many stories which monks are ready to tell you. You can buy a lot of souvenirs and taste homemade 100% juces made by monks. The monstery is just a few hundred meters away from the main road and cannot be unseen. Highly recommend. I must come here again!
