Review: Disneyland California - SilverKris

"A distinctive Ferris wheel on the seaside boardwalk that appears tame at first glance but offers surprisingly thrilling motion; it functions as one of the park's most recognizable visual landmarks." - James Wong

Pixar Pal-A-Round – Swinging

A Hoot and a Half! I'm not going to lie, a couple of our group were "wheel of death" terrified on this thing, but for the rest of us, it was an absolute blast! We went on the swinging side of the Pixar Pal-A-Round, and watching the looks on our friends' faces as we swayed back and forth was priceless. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It's safe to say a few of them won't be getting back on anytime soon, but I'll be first in line for another ride! It was a total hoot and the highlight of our day.

David S.

Google
This ride can be a lovely normal ferris wheel or it can be mickey's wheel of death. Highly suggest understanding what you are getting into if you have any fear of heights or motion sickness avoid the swingers.

Google
(Warning: first part is only fear) I just about had a full blown panic attack on this ride, because me and my siblings went on a swinging cart. I was afraid of it swinging and falling into the water below and we wouldn't be able to get out (🫣) and, there was virtually nothing to hold onto except your seat which unnerved me. BUT BESIDES ALL OF MY FEARS it was super fun and impressive. By far the craziest and coolest ferris wheel I've ever ridden 🔥

Gary D.

Google
There are two options for this ride. A normal Ferris wheel gondola that is a very nice ride with great views of the park. There is also a swinging spinning option which solely exists to make you sick. Do yourself a favor and ride the normal gondola unless you really love vertically spinning rides.

What happens when you cross a Pirate ship style ride with a ferris wheel? The answer is Pixar Pal Around. I was excited to try this ride especially when I watched how the swinging cars would follow a U shaped track depending upon its height. My husband wanted to ride the non swinging car and I went with the swinging car. Oddly enough although both lines were long we managed to get on at the same time with his car being in front of me. I sat on one side with two women who offered to take my picture on the ride. There isn't anything to strap you in but once you get going you actually do swing up and back much like the Pirate ship. Hang on for the time of your life. Another interesting observation was since I was in the swinging car I never knew when we reached the top as our car dipped downward. I had no idea how many loops we took but before we knew it the ride was over. I asked my husband how he enjoyed the non swinging car and he told me it was like a traditional Ferris wheel where you can get good sights of the park and the area surrounding it. The choice is yours-take the non swinging car and ride like a Ferris Wheel or take the swinging car and have the time of your life.

Google
My daughters loved this! I didn't care for the swinging car but my daughters sure did! The view was amazing from up that high! Loaded and unloaded much faster than a regular ferris wheel!

paul V.

Google
Everyone who's into ferris wheels should try the swinging gondola. It's like being into two rides in one. The views are amazing and you'll enjoy being onboard for a reasonable amount of time.

Usually only a short wait. Nice view.

Yelp
While in California, I came to visit the happiest place on earth, Disneyland, California, adventure! I definitely love DCA for its options of rides food, dessert and unique beverage options. We went during the lunar new year so we tried a lot of different unique foods. If you are coming during this time, just be aware that these portion size are very small. My favorite was the crispy fiery chicken shrimp lo mein and my least favorite was the garlic noodles (it lacks flavor, which ironic since garlic holds a lot of flavor and it also was very oily). My friend agreed that if we were to come during lunar new year next year, we will buy the food and beverage pass because you want to try so many different foods and it all adds up so you might as well get the pass because it definitely worth it! (especially since the portion size are smaller bites) The best rides are at Disneyland, California adventure. If you visit, you have to go on Guardians of Galaxy and Incredicoaster. The lines may be long, but they are so worth it! I feel like there is a lot of options for different age range whether you have a toddler to young age kid all the way up to an adult. I enjoyed the theme stores that are available after each ride in addition to just the regular stores that sell merchandise. The park is very large, so be prepared to do a lot of walking. However, there is not a lot of hills which I think is a plus. One thing that I think is important to note is that you are able to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages into the park. That will come in handy if you were coming with kids teenagers or even adults since the food does add up, however I definitely recommend, trying the food they have in the park such as Pizza planet which is quick and easy and everyone's go to! Parking is $35 for regular parking and you can also get lightning passes to where you don't have to wait in the longer standby lines. We went on a Wednesday and it was raining so the lines weren't as long. However, if we were to go on a day that was a little bit busier. I definitely recommend investing in a lightning pass! Overall, We enjoyed our visit, had a lot of great food and some steps and of course !

Yelp
We came to Disney California Adventure park the day after Sweetheart's Nite and it was really nice to get the whole day here. It was busy, but we paid for the lightning pass so we were able to go in a shorter line every two hours. It was my first time seeing San Fransokyo square, and I loved the vibes here. The rides were fun and I quite liked the newer interactive VR spiderman ride. This park definitely has more drink options than Disneyland, so it felt like it catered more towards an adult audience. The vibes were so much better at night, I loved getting to see the place light up after sunset. We were also there when the Lunar New Year decorations were up, and it was so cute to see. World of Color was also sooo amazing since the last time I saw the show, I cried lol. The food and drink are overpriced for what they are, but you gotta splurge on vacation anyway. I think I enjoyed this park slightly more than Disneyland, but you have to do both while you're here!

Yelp
DCA is undeniably an expensive park and most would likely agree second choice in comparison to Disneyland. We visited Disneyland last year, so we thought we'd try DCA out. Our day started off on a frustrating note with unexpected inclement weather. We hoped for some flexibility - maybe switching days, exploring another park, or even a park hopper upgrade on a rainy day - but unfortunately, Disney showed little empathy for guests dealing with weather-related challenges or ride closures. It's especially disappointing when you travel from out of state only to be hit with a rainy day that limits your experience. We arrived right at 8am for opening and ended up leaving by 3pm, as the heavy rains intensified and even our rain jackets couldn't keep us dry. Despite the weather, we were lucky enough to catch most of the rides we were excited about. However, many attractions were running intermittently, with rides starting and stopping throughout the day which leaves you trying to run around to catch them while they are open. The standout issue for us today was the Guardian of the Galaxy ride, which was only partially operational (2 out of 4 sections) and resulted in a wait of over an hour. For an adult moderate thrill seeker, my top picks were: 1. Incredicoaster 2. Guardian of the Galaxy 3. Soarin' Around the World 4. Radiator Springs We also enjoyed the modern twists on classic attractions with Ariel and Monsters Inc. offering a fresh take on the charm of Disneyland's It's A Small World. We skipped the rides aimed at little kids and the spinning attractions, so I can't comment on those. We were super sad to not get to ride the Pixar Pal-A-Around ferris wheel as it's the main display of this park, not sure if it was the rain or under renovations. A small bright spot was finding a dry moment to enjoy some great food at Lamplight Lounge, highly recommend! Overall, while DCA has some fantastic rides and unique experiences, the high cost, coupled with unpredictable weather and a lack of customer accommodations on challenging days, made for a less-than-ideal visit. If you're planning a trip, it might be wise to keep a close eye on the forecast and have a flexible plan in mind or invest in a park hopper pass or stay for two days to balance your options out.

Yelp
Fun place to go. Great for date night or out with the kids! They also serve alcohol here! My favorites: - Spider Man: this is a kid favorite, the web slinger is so much fun. - cars land is fun for the kids. They enjoy seeing Mater and lighting McQueen! - Goofy's Sky School - Guardians of the Galaxy! The place is pretty crowded, but its worth to visit!

Yelp
We enjoy the California Adventure Park! Great shows, food, refreshments and rides! Mickey, Minnie & friends - don't forget Soarin' - my favorite - Cars Land is awesome! It's all awesome. Don't miss Incredicoaster; Soarin' and all the Cars Land rides - plus Spider-Man. Don't miss these if just a day is all you have!

Yelp
Everyone enjoyed this side of the park. There was the boardwalk section with the large ferris wheel and some faster roller coasters. The Spider Man webslinger ride was interesting, but the kids didn't spend much time in the Avengers area. We spent a lot of time around the bridges and the boardwalk. The water show at night was fun and they were projecting images onto the water, which I have never seen before. The kids couldn't make it to the fireworks but we did get to see them from the parking garage as we were walking out. This side felt geared more towards older kids and adults. They even had some alcohol available on this side. Everyone had a great time and we would do this again. The only things we didn't like were the slow security personnel at the entrance, the lines (can't avoid that much, but get in right when they open and you'll be able to rush a few rides), and the food (nothing really stood out as awesome).

Yelp
5 years ago the food was mediocre for the new year celebration. And I decided to give it another chance. It is $48. I like how they updated how you redeem your sip and savor pass by being scanned and entering a pin. However the food was just okay. I don't really think food at a Disney park is phenomenal at all. They need to not add the milk tea circle thing in the macron for this year. It was the most vial tasting thing ever. I thought it was a chocolate circle before. The food from 5 years ago was better than the food I tried in 2025. But not like anything mind blowing. I would not say it is worth getting a sip and savor pass and shouldn't have given it another chance. I did like the little mousse firecracker dessert and the birria eggroll would be my favorite thing if I had to choose.

Yelp
Great to be back after 10 years. The park was not too crowded . It rained but stopped. There were lots of added attractions and Lunar New Year celebration. Lots of Chinese delicacies to enjoyed. We did most of the rides. Still pricey but got the California resident discount . Be back again .

Yelp
OVERALL : This review is solely for the Lunar New Year food items for the 2025 event. Here's a recap of what we have eaten so far at the Disney California Adventure LNY celebration! Most items were from the Sip and Savor pass, which was a "tasting pass" that you could purchase and redeem for different items around the park. I love that there's 3 different sip and savor cards / passes to choose from, each with different Disney characters wearing traditional attire from Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese new years! While this is still theme park / mass-produced food, I did enjoy the variety of items and the creativity of these dishes. Some were actually really good too, and I'd get them again next year if they come back. PARKING : We parked at the Anaheim GardenWalk and walked over to the parks! FOOD/DRINKS : - Green tea horchata - not enough horchata flavor - Strawberry milk tea macaron * - chewy macaron outside, and generous filling inside with strawberry MT flavor - Mandarin orange cream puff * - Citrus Cream and Mandarin Compote -- real orange filling, tasted like orange peel almost! not too heavy - Red panda bao bun - wish the filling/meat had more oomph to it - Tropical coconut cooler * - Coconut Cream, Coconut Milk, House-made Jackfruit Syrup, Dragon Fruit Syrup and Lychee Nectar & Cherry Juices, garnished with Mango Coconut Foam and Rainbow Jellies, yum! - Pho dip sandwich - broth was hot, good amount of meat. wish the meat was more hot, but overall a good item for sip and savor value! - Char siu pork shanks - tender meat, sweet pineapple chutney, rice was cooked well - Brown sugar milk tea * - Ceylon Tea, Hotteok-inspired Syrup made with Brown Sugar, Maple & Butter Pecan Syrups and Oat Milk, garnished with Banana Milk-infused Whipped Cream, fav drink I've tried from this event so far! - Scallion pancake tostada - Fried Scallion Pancake, Bulgogi Beef, Kimchi Aïoli and Spicy Scallion Salad -- wish the pancake was less doughy / more crispy, but meat was tender and flavors were def there! - Toasted sesame & red bean churro * - Churro rolled in Toasted Sesame Sugar with Red Bean Whipped Topping and Sesame Tuile - delicious! red bean topping actually tasted like red bean and the sesame smelled SO good and added lots of texture! (Standout items are marked with a *)

Yelp
Disney California adventure is an awesome and fun Disney park. I would have to say my favorite ride is cars. I will also recommend that area of the park and say it's one of my favorites overall. Definitely takes on a different life at night and I highly recommend you visit and have fun at night in the Cars area and on the Cars ride. Disney has certainly stepped up its game as far as food goes. I had a bahn mi and it was excellent

Yelp
I had such a great time at Disneyland! Walked a total of 21,600 steps by the end of the night. The key to walking without your feet or legs getting tired, compression stockings!!! One huge plus is that you can bring your own snacks and water, which is a game-changer. I always pack a backpack so I can stay hydrated and have something to snack on while waiting in line. I went on a Monday, arriving at 9:00 AM and staying until 9:30 PM. Surprisingly, I was able to get on a lot of rides, including the most popular ones, which made the day even better. The wait times were much more manageable than I expected! Another highlight was Disneyland's Lunar New Year celebration. They offered a food sampler pass where you could try six different dishes for $45 with a season pass or $48 without. It was absolutely worth it! The portions were full-sized, not just bite-sized samples, and everything was delicious. Overall, it was an incredible experience, and I'm definitely going back again!

Yelp
California Adventure always seems like it's less crowded than Disneyland (I mean, like a tad) but it's just as festive with fewer rides. Definitely a different vibe as it's not as fairy tale and cutesy but still has a fun vibe. My favorite ride is definitely the tower of terror which is worth waiting in line for. At the end of the night, I grabbed a hot chocolate and watched the world of color which is just as good as the Disneyland fireworks! There's actually a lot to do from the rides, eating, shops and simply taking pictures - can easily spend a whole day here!

Yelp
I just came back from a trip to Disneyland, and found an old review in my drafts! A fun look back at my last trip from when I was a Magic Key Holder March 2022 - March 2023. The Enchant Magic Key was $649, and the individual ticket costs for the 10 days I visited that year added up to $1,675, so it was worth it! Trip Report: Sunday 3.19.23 and Monday 3.20.23 Park Hours 8:00 AM - 10:00 PM Party: 2 adults Tickets: Enchant Magic Key and Park Hopper Genie+: Yes *Ride times start when we get in line and end after we get off the ride. I don't include times spent shopping, meeting characters, or taking photos because that's too extra, even for me. Sunday 3.19.23 7:15: In line at the gates, which opened at 7:20. Our plan was to rope drop Radiator Springs Racers (RSR) single rider. 7:23: We enter the park and walk towards the stopping point near Avengers Campus and Cars Land. I purchased Genie+ and booked our first Lightning Lane (LL). 8:00: We reached RSR to learn they were having a delayed opening, but still allowed lining up. We went to Guardians of the Galaxy (GOTG) instead. 8:10-8:20: GOTG LL. I wasn't sure whether the posted standby (SB) wait time was accurate given all the people rapidly entering, so decided to just use the LL I had booked intending to use after RSR. 8:31-8:47: Incredicoaster SB 8:50-9:05: Toy Story Midway Mania LL. 162,200 points, 24% accuracy 9:11-9:27: RSR single rider (SR) 9:33-9:45: Mater's Junkyard Jamboree 9:53 - 10:06: Web Slingers LL. I'm glad they added this to regular LL and removed the individual LL. 10:10-11:14: We had a 10:20 reservation for Lamplight Lounge brunch. 11:26-11:45: Grizzly River Run SB. I did book a LL but since it broke down during our window, we got a multi experience pass (I call it a wild LL). SB line wasn't too bad after they reopened, and I always like saving my wild LL for later since it's not time restricted. 11:46-11:57: Grizzly River Run SR 12:01-12:18: The superior Soarin Over California is here for the Food and Wine Festival. 12:25-12:44: Mickey's PhilharMagic. My first stop in the area was to check the Animation Academy schedule to see who I wanted to draw. I chose Donald at 14:00 and planned around it. 12:46-13:18: Watched the 13:00 Turtle Talk with Crush 13:24-13:31: Food and Wine Festival snacks from LA Style 13:42-14:25: Animation Academy 14:00 class to draw Donald! 14:30: We park hopped to Disneyland and spent the rest of our day there. Monday 3.20.23 13:20-13:49: We had spent the morning in Disneyland and first stop here was Soarin Over California LL. 14:05: Corn Dog Castle and Food and Wine Festival for late lunch. 14:45-15:00: Jammin Chefs, a cute show they have during the Food and Wine Festival. 15:05-15:18: Grizzly River Run SR 15:27-17:58: Disneyland 17:58-18:31: RSR SR. I think this was the longest SR line I've ever experienced for this ride. Or any ride. 18:40-19:12: We lined up for and watched the 18:55 Dr. Strange show. As a repeat visitor, I wish they changed up the guest more. 19:13-19:42: GOTG LL 19:48: Incredicoaster was already closed to prep for the 21:00 World of Color. If I had known it was closing that earlier, I would've gone in place of RCR. I wish the app noted the early closure time, but it said through 10:00 PM. We got dinner from Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Food and Wine Festival. 20:20-21:25: We found a spot on the Pacific Wharf/Paradise Pier bridge for standby World of Color viewing for the 21:00 show, as I missed out on the virtual queue. I got a hot chocolate with liqueur from Cappuccino Cart while waiting for the show to start. We didn't have great view due to people in front, but I've never really gotten a great view for this show anyways. I go more to hear the soundtrack they put together. 21:25: Disneyland for the rest of the night.

Yelp
I feel like I never really enjoyed this park compared to the OG Disneyland till a few years ago when we started attending during Lunar New Year and Food and Wine Festival. The SoCal pass also makes it all the more worthwhile since ticket prices nowadays are absolutely insane lol. Highly recommending doing what we do: SoCal Pass = any 3 days between Jan-May. We do Lunar New Year, Food and Wine Festival, and then a random day. Way more worth it this way! Favorite rides: Spiderman Web Slingers, Grizzly Rapids, Cars Radiator Springs Racers and Toy Story Midway Mania. Food constantly changes but loved the matcha lavender iced latte they had a few years ago during one of their food events! IG: @ammysalamii

Yelp
I think DCA may be my preferred park over Disneyland because I love the food festivals and I especially love the Lunar NY celebrations because Mulan is my favorite princess. Pro tip- it was so quiet Halloween morning because likely all the families were at the schools for school activities. We went on Halloween day last year and there were NO lines for most of the rides. Almost all the rides were walk on and we rode Ariel back to back three times and walked on each time. We also took pictures with Hiro and Baymax. DCA is a fun and much smaller park. Enjoy!!

Yelp
Disneyland is GREAT, DCA is just good. As a millennial, I don't think you can beat the rides here. Monsters Inc, Cars, and the Incredibles. And those rides are awesome and sooo well done. But the cast members just aren't as great as Disney. We had a good time here, but honestly somewhere I would rather go without kids.

Yelp
Started off 2025 @ Disney California Adventure. We got the lightning pass. With this we were able to reserve a different ride (that accepted the multipass) every 2 hours. The rides we enjoyed the most (not in any particular order) were the guardians, radiatoe springs (cars ride), incredicoaster, spider-man and toys story. The radiatoe springs ride had wait times for 2-3 hours on NY day. However the cool part is if you choose to be a "single" rider the wait was about 20-30 min so that's what we did. It was well worth it. :) The other highlight was we were able to meet Baymax! I'm also glad that they provide 'free' photos now for the rides so that you can see your embarrassing expressions for free and send to your friends. For foods, we tried the clam chowder in bread bowl in the San Fransokyo plaza. This was ok, the soup was a bit salty on its own though. We also did have a churro later as a snack near the incredicoaster ride. In summary, we would come back. But I would probably wait for a new attraction first. Also I think I would still get the multipass. It is a bit annoying you can only book every 2 hours and not every ride has the lightning lane. Even on the lightning lanes expect to wait maybe around 15-20 min.

Yelp
Disney California Adventure has come a long way since opening. I remember coming the first month they opened and there were some real failures ( anyone remember that terrible Hollywood ride that is now Monsters?). This park is really found it's stride now. I'm Hollywood boulevard there are still some pretty cool stuff to see and do, including the drawing class that takes place. This time we did a drawing of Sully from Monsters. It's also fun to go through the workshop to see how things are animated. When they changed Hollywood Tower of Terror to the Guardians of the Galaxy, I was sad to see the old theme go away. But, man, they improved this ride and it is so fun! I will say I am not a fan of The Avengers Campus. It just seems like a big concrete area with big concrete buildings. I am however a huge fan of cars land! So dang cute, and Radiator Springs Racers is a pretty fun rider. The other attractions here are definitely not thrill rides, but they are way high on the theming scale. Sad to say that that Boudin Bread Factory is gone. Sadly, you won't be getting your clam chowder in a freshly baked bread bowl there anymore. Fortunately, the Ghirardelli ice cream store is still there. There are some great attractions like the Incredicoaster and Soarin' and The Little Mermaid. Drink the holidays there are booths set up everywhere with food and drink from different cultures as well as some great mashups. It's a great way to spend the day, and really is quite different from Disneyland across the plaza.

Yelp
We love Disney California Adventure (DCA)! The new San Fransokyo area was not available during our last visit, so seeing the new decorations and the bridge made this trip even more special. We also had the chance to check out their Lunar New Year food offerings, and we definitely enjoyed some of our favorites. My husband and I both agreed that the Sip and Savor pass was an okay option if you want to try different dishes, but not all Lunar New Year food was included with the pass. We thoroughly enjoyed the "World of Color" presentation titled "ONE," which was their special showing for the Lunar New Year. It quickly became one of our favorites! Our favorite ride is hands down Radiator Springs Racers. If you plan to buy a single ride pass, it's best to purchase it only when the line is too long (80 minutes or more). The wait times tend to decrease in the evening, but it's nice to experience the ride during daylight if it's your first time. We also tried the Web Slingers ride, which was new during our last visit, and we were lucky to find the standby wait time was only 20 minutes! Be sure to take advantage of any rides with standby times of 20-30 minutes!

Yelp
Like Disneyland, I was never huge on this place in my younger years. To me, I used to view this place as the area where I get to drink alcoholic beverages in the park. Over the years with the addition of Pixar, Marvel, and now Big Hero 6, this place shaped into a part of the park I really enjoy being in. For the same reasons I didn't love Disneyland growing up - I was more of a roller coaster fan and didn't really feel the Disney 'magic', I thought this place was okay. But I converted - maybe it's just me getting older or I've been able to go with young family members so I see this place through a different lens now. Rides I really enjoy here - the Guardians of the Galaxy drop, the Cars ride, and the Incredicoaster. There are also nice places to grab a drink here and lots of great places to eat. You get the same friendly and organized service from Disneyland as well. I also really love how the revitalized the area where San Fransokyo Square is located now. Oh and I'm a big fan of the Avengers Campus area! An underrated ride is the one where you glide over the world. My favorite part is seeing the polar bears. Not a crazy ride, but just fun and relaxing. The layout is of the park is just really well thought out especially the design and imagery you get.

Yelp
It's Disney, of course it's great! We spent the day here and had a great time! The rides are fun- my first time on Soarin! And I loved it so much! We enjoyed the interactions with the different characters, especially Spider-Man! Don't miss his "suit check"! So many foods and drinks to try! We had lunch and grown folks drinks and some churros- expensive? Heck yeah but it's all an experience and we had a great day!

Yelp
Photo dump from the 2024 KOST 103.5 Private Holiday Party at California Adventure Park on 12.4.24. It's a nice way to be inside the park with a lot less people than normal so some rides had very short lines. Radiator Springs Racers was still 'busy' but way easier than usual.
google avatar

Yelp
They would have got five stars from me, but we had an issue with the staff. I believe his name was David, on the ride where the cars race. Other than that, this was a great experience. We were able to eat at flow's Café and the food was surprisingly good, as in most theme parks their food is not so good. It was the lunar new year celebration and oh my goodness the parade was a sight to see. I am my son truly enjoy all of the rights and attractions. We will be back very soon in my mind California adventure is far better than Disneyland at the end of the night. They give a water and light show that is out of this world. My son and I were so blessed to witness this beautiful display. We can't wait to return and ride all the rise for we got there around three, as we know it takes a day or two to truly Experience the whole park.

Yelp
Been a long time Disney world fan so when I moved to CA the magic keys were a must BUT I pay for this monthly and parking is still 26 dollars (with a discount). The prices have honestly just gotten greedy. Fast passes used to be free. Plus I saw a fight breakout this past week. Went for lunar new year and all my food was cold. Not sure if I'll be renewing my pass next year. Wait times and pricing just really bring it down. Not what it used to be :(

Yelp
Totally enjoy this place!! Love how they celebrate different cultures here at the park.

Yelp
I purchased my ticket in advance via the Disney website. Your ticket is electronic which you will need to save for easy retrieval. Be sure to look your best because your photo will be taken upon arrival to the park. Download the Disneyland app for information on wait times for the park rides and to make reservations to the restaurants. If you have not made your reservation prior to your arrival of the restaurant, the restaurant will request you to use the QR code to place your name on the waitlist. The cast members are so helpful.

Yelp
Disneyland is SO FUN! Last time I went to CA adventures it was super crowded and the wait times were insane. It was way too crowded to enjoy anything, but when I came back here it was much more pleasant and I came on Thanksgiving day. The lines on the rides weren't two bad, I was able to get the whole park done by 7 pm, and I was able to ride incredicoaster and cars TWICE! Last time I went, I couldn't even get on cars because it had an insane wait time. Overall super fun and family friend. Disneyland truly stands out from other amusement and theme parks. Their little differences in how they control their theme park make it remarkably more enjoyable.

Yelp
This may be the second happiest place on Earth. My most recent visit was with my friend and her 4-year-old daughter last week. This meant that I got to experience a couple of rides geared towards the younger set, but I still had a blast on them, namely Little Mermaid, Ariel's Undersea Adventure and Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue. Those were both so fun and I can see why they're popular. We also rode Soarin' Around the World, which is my favorite ride at DCA, as well as Pixar Pal-A-Round. I like the fact that DCA is easy to navigate and not as big as Disneyland (I don't think it is). It feels less jammed packed even when there are lots of people. This park definitely complements its big sibling well.

Yelp
DCA is much less crowded than Disneyland. It is a fun place to visit! My girlfriend and I love to go here on our dates. I recommend getting a magic key if you plan to visit multiple times throughout the year. Be sure to check on the app for special events, parades, shows and park hours. Wear comfortable shoes and remember where you park your car!

Yelp
California Adventure is my favorite park because it offers various food options and drinks. The rides are also a big plus. I love the Incredicoaster because of its speed! It was my first time riding the coaster, and I was surprised by the launch and overall structure of the ride. My boyfriend swears by the micheladas, so we grabbed a drink before starting our walk through the park. The Disneyland app allows you to order ahead. We did just that, but the way the line was moving, we were better off just making the line and waiting for our turn. We also had some delicious Quesabirria tacos and The San Fransokyo-style street corn from Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill. The food was better than expected!

Yelp
Much prefer DCA over Disneyland, food options are vast but definitely love the rollercoasters and rides here. Haven't been here since 2017 so it was very exciting to explore all the new areas built since then. We came here the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) so the morning of wasn't busy but definitely started to pick up after 1PM. Wait time for rides weren't very long either, about 1 hour for most other than the Cars and Mickey ride. We had the Lightning Lane Multi Pass so we waited about 10 minutes max. Overall a great experience, especially at night time. Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
If you plan on coming to Disneyland, do yourself a huge favor and get the 2 day pass. I always stop by Disney California Adventure Park the other half of the day when I'm out from the Disney crow. DCAP isn't as packed as Disneyland. So the wait time is less. The pace is more chill and relaxing. So I would say that there are more things to do for the older crowd and of course there are a lot of places to order alcoholic drinks. They typically host holiday event at this side of the park because of the wide open space for food vendors and special events (CNY, Halloween, Wine event, etc). My favorite rides here is Soarin' Around the World, Incredicoaster, Radiator Springs Racers, Ariel and Silly Symphony Swings. The wait time is reasonable since there are less people at this park. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is another small indoor park where the kids can As far as the food choices, there are plenty of places to go. We usually go eat at the food court area since there are a lot of variety food for the family to choose. All the food overall are good. The portion is good to share family style. The best value is the kids menu for the kids.

Yelp
My family and I had the opportunity to stop by here during the week of my birthday and I have to say this place is awesome especially for kids. I got to take my daughter on her first flip rollercoaster which was the incredicoaster. She had an amazing time and went on it multiple times between my wife and I. Out of all the rides it was probably my favorite aside from the cars ride. I ended up getting the lightning lane pass because I'm not a fan of waiting, it made time go by fast and I would highly recommend getting it for your tickets as you are able to ride more rides rather than wait. The food here is good and reasonably priced. Overall I enjoyed my time at California adventure, as it is a nice compliment to Disneyland. I prefer Disney over California adventure, but if you're going multiple days...it's nice to switch it up. If you have the opportunity to visit, you should.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever had a bad time at DCA. All of the attractions are super fun, and you never feel like you're in the middle of Anaheim. Yeah, you'll sometimes run into the occasional cast member that is having an off day, but you can't say you don't have those days at work either. The attractions are really well themed, and the lands are too. Compared to Disney World, both Anaheim parks blow them all out of the water. Some rides are the same between both coasts, but there's enough of them that are completely different in a good way. All in all, I would recommend everyone to visit the parks at least once!

Yelp
I loveee this place sosososo much. The food at DCA is sooo yummy !! I've seen Disney California adventure grow and change so much over the years :') like how twilight zone changed to guardians... and California screamin changed to Incredicoaster ! I'll be back soon :')

Yelp
This is a great park when you want the fun of Disney, but not necessarily the chaos of Disneyland. This park is definitely more chill. It's smaller and therefore, if you plan it right, you may be able to finish up your day pretty early. Or you may run out of things to do, depending on your interests. We found a spot to watch the Pixar Fest parade well in advance. We also rode the trolley up and down its route and that was something fun we'd never done before. Guardians of the Galaxy is a great ride! The Web Slingers ride is fun, but is similar in concept to Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters and Toy Story. They have character meet and greets and a show or two, but it can be difficult to find a good viewing location for the shows. I was very impressed with Ant Man and Wasp as well as Loki when we met them. They really took the time to talk to each of the kids--even mine, who are older. Radiator Springs is still a huge draw here. I can recommend every ride in that part of the park. We also ate at Flo's V8 Cafe and that was a nice pit stop!

Yelp
California adventure is best at night, love world of color, and just all the lights sparkling over the water. Plus they serve alcohol at multiple locations, unlike Disneyland, making it an ideal evening or night time experience. However, I go with my 8 yr old lol, so I rarely have a drink. It's still fun regardless.

Yelp
Have been here a few times in the past 5 years, most recently this past Saturday for a girls trip! It used to be a lot more "California" themed and a lot more things have been Disney-fied. For myself I think one full day is enough to experience everything. Pros: - Really great thrill rides to choose from, including Incredicoaster, Guardians of the Galaxy, Radiator Springs Cars, as well as "kiddy" rides like Luigi's and Soarin'. - LOVE World of Color! Definitely stay for this, there's a 9pm and 10:15pm showing and it changes seasonally, it's totally worth it! - The food here is really good! My favorites are cozy cone mac n cheese, as well as lamplight lounge appetizers. It's surprisingly affordable compared to what you would expect from a theme park. - "Smaller" than Disneyland in the sense that you could easily walk it multiple times in one day. - Very good places to take cute photos! The iconic Mickey ferris wheel. - recently they changed the pier to be Big Hero 6 themed, and it's really beautiful to walk through. - A lot of the rides that have longer wait times have single rider lines available (web slingers, radiator springs, incredicoaster), so I highly recommend doing this if you're going as adults and don't care about separated. - Totally a worthy park to dedicate a day to. - Animation Academy is a great experience too! Cons: - A lot of outdoor attractions, so it can get hot during the summer. I like this park in the winter better because of the weather and the Christmas decorations are so cute

Yelp
Always a fantastic time at one of the happiest places on earth especially during Halloween time at Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party in Disney California Adventure Park. It was perfect time for us to go as it wasn't crowded and we got on plenty of rides multiple times. We rarely waited in line to get on the rides. It's tradition for us to go to Oogie Boogie Bash every year. We get to go on lots of candy trails several times. They also have most of the Disney villains during Oogie Boogie Bash and you can take photos with them. The lines for character photos aren't so long either. You pretty much breeze through the photo ops which is great. Disney California Adventure Park also offers special ghoulish food items and novelty during Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween event. One of our favorites is the poison apple churro. We will be back at the end of the month to visit Disneyland and to see the big Mickey pumpkin. We can't wait.

Yelp
Happy 2025! New Year, new fun. Last year has been our introduction into having annual passes to the Happiest Place on Earth and as a married couple it's given us some positive enjoyment in our lives. We strive to overcome stressful hours at work and worthless arguments at home, so this how we do things to enjoy, have fun and finally relax. For now, at this moment, for the most part, we go just to go. We've been married for 26 years and I think we enjoy the simple things now and for the most part, we enjoy just being together. Disneyland is our therapy and our vacation time between everyday life. It's a place you should not stress about, get mad about, be rude about, and be angry about. Everyone, we can still celebrate life, with Mickey and friends, that's why we are here all the time! Cheers fellow yelpers! It's all good, salud, mahalo, and Kanpai!

Yelp
Another real magical park! Seating areas and rides were real cool, and the restaurant I went into was so elegant and tasty! Cheers to the waitress. Decor is in spot as well! It really does feel like you are "in the moment". Same thing goes for rides. It can be a long wait, but it's well worth it. Bonus that you can see the wait time. It's a real life saver, and the staff is so helpful as well! Goofy's Sky Chaser-is that what it's called? Was so fun! Jittery and exciting. Same thing goes for the rest of the rides, I have nothing to complain about!

Yelp
DCA is right across from Disneyland. To get into DCA, you will have to get screened, backpacks etc checked for any weapons/banned items etc. then go through the line to get check in. We were here for the Pixar fest. It was pretty cool. We had tried several of their specialty food and drinks for the Pixar fest. DCA is hands down the best out of Disneyland for alcohol drinks and some of the drinks were strong and delicious! The food here is just okay... overall I had fun, pretty themes. Lots of food, drinks, souvenirs, Disney merchs and clothes for sale. They do close earlier than Disneyland around 9/10pm, when they close I hop over to Disneyland or Downtown Disney to continue the fun.

Yelp
I love the monsters Inc. right I went on it three times. I love Pixar pier somebody got to draw me as woody when we were walking to the store world of Disney I started feeling nauseous but before that I drink sprite so it was either the Sprite, churro or the two slices of pizza, but I think I got food poisoning I've been sick since January 20 all the way to February 3 15 whole days

Yelp
I had never gone to Disney California Adventure (DCA) until after I had kids. Over the last two years, we have taken our son to Disneyland and DCA many times and I've come to enjoy the park almost as much as Disneyland. My favorite rides at DCA are: - Guardians of the Galaxy - Radiator Springs Racers - Goofy Sky School - Spiderman: Web Slingers - Toy Story I really want to try Incredicoaster, but since my son isn't tall enough, we don't have a chance yet. One day, I'll have to go without him, so I can try it. There's lots of great food options at DCA and we usually eat burgers and fries. I'll update more soon. Xie Xie!

Yelp
Everything about this place was AMAZING from the moment we entered the park. The staff was very welcoming! We went for the Oogie Boogie party and had the best day ever. My son is usually a homebody but he didn't ask to leave instead he said he never wanted to leave. This park was super clean and well maintained. The detail that has been put into it is incredible! I kept telling myself that the price of the tickets was too much but after the visit I was like Take all my money Disney! The adult drinks were INCREDIBLE and worth $17.00 each... The seasonal pineapple spicy margarita was my absolute favorite! We spent a few days at both parks and are ready to go back... This place is a MUST so pack up the family... buy the tickets and go live your best life!

Yelp
My first time during the holidays. I tasted my way through the park. I had so much yummy food and drinks. We got a tickets that included two lighting passes. However, cars was not covered by the regular lighting pass. We had so much fun. I would recommend wearing good walking shoes. If you plan to go on the cars ride. I would start their first all the other lines were 40 minutes are less. We went on a Thursday and managed to ride every ride. We also had enough time to catch the different parades. Bundle up

Yelp
Not my favorite of the two. Still has some nice components. Seems like it takes less than a full day to cover. The older park has almost too much to cover in a day. Both parks are kept super clean. The attention to detail shows. Most all the cast members are outgoing and friendly. This park seems to have a few more exceptions.

Yelp
This past weekend was my first time at DCA and I can finally cross all the US Disney parks off my list :) We arrived around 8:15am on Friday and people were slowly trickling in. We hit up a few rides first, grabbed lunch at Flo's, did a few more rides, ate again, watched the parade, had desserts, bought some souvenirs, and called it a night. The Pixar fest is going on at the moment and the parade was really cute! My favorites were the Inside Out float and the UP float. We had a lot of fun and I loved Carsland! They did such a good job with the theming and rides. Will be back!
