On the Grid : Pixel Coffee Roasters

"Petite and charming are two words to describe this cafe, nestled on Oxford St, just a little out of the main Leederville strip. Decorated with blooming flowers, with a turquoise colour scheme, this cafe is cosy and intimate. The menu is short and sweet - think bircher muesli with coconut yogurt and fruits to the delicious pixel plate. There are more than enough options to choose from to get your sweet fix - raw or gluten free slices and cakes that will leave you salivating." - The Brand Agency

Really good experience! I went there with my girlfriend for brunch and we were totally satisfied. Good menu choices, friendly staff and good coffes. Perfect place to take a moment for yourself and relax.

Food is pretty good. The combination of flavours and concept of how it all worked together was definitely above average for perth brunches. Coffee was a little bit of miss for me, although my friend rated his. Waitress was a bit grumpy at 8am in the morning, but the barista was nice enough and smiled as he put our drinks down.

Google
The name Pixel may be a little misleading because my brekky was pretty huge. There's at least a few hundred pixels there. And it tastes pretty good too. The coffee was pretty milky, but that's my personal preference. It is a small space, so it is best to come early to beat the crowds especially on the weekends.

Friendly staff, average coffee. We came for the coffee and something sweet. Good choice of sweets. My husband liked his espresso, my cappuccino was too milky for my taste. The coconut slice we had was nice. You can sit outside but you’ll be in shade; it’s next to a busy road. We liked the inside better but there is not much space.

Google
Fresh, healthy, well presented food, generous serving size. Good coffee too. We really enjoyed our breakfast, great way to start a busy day.

Google
Nice mocha and flat white, Blondie was delish but icing quite sweet. Good menu selection of breakfast, brunch and bowls. Noise is a bit jarring at the back of the cafe but otherwise great place for a catchup.

Hot weather even in the morning, acai bowl was the perfect choice to cool down myself and boost my appetite!! Personally, I think if the fruit like kiwis, oranges and strawberries had been peeled off, it would have been easier to eat. :)

Google
Great filter coffee as well as espresso. Staff are very friendly and helpful always. Definitely one of the best cafés in Perth.

Yelp
Came here with my sneaky link and was such a delightful experience. Great food and coffee but better people. Safe to say I needed this got the open avo sandwich which was executed to perfection with zero complaints from yours truely! Definitely gonna tell phil thorp (an up and coming coffee critic of perth with a strong future and huge potential) about this about this place. Keep it up baby. Perchance!

Yelp
First noticed this place on Instagram, people posted a lot of photos of their beautiful cakes. We went on a Sat morning and it was quite packed. So beautiful inside! That vintage vibe... The dishes are beautiful too! Very fresh and tasty. Coffee-aromatic!

Yelp
Cute AF! Oh... You're still here... Sexy coffee with latte art for days. Cute cakes and treats man you'll stay a little longer. The addition of the car park decking means you'll now be able bring the whole squad for brunch - which is G O O D news!

Yelp
This is one of two places for my fave coffee in Perth! Beautiful blends! Same consistent beautiful coffees. The food is amazing too as are the cakes. Always manage to snatch a seat outside but have since heard they have a new outdoor area so am looking forward to returning! Thank you for making your coffee and food so beautiful! Updated review- today I enjoyed a tall takeaway flat White. Beautiful smooth blend. I also grabbed a vegan Rose water cake it was stunning! It was moist and delicious look forward to trying more of their cakes on my return!

Yelp
Pretty pretty food and tasty too! Hard to choose from the array of quality salads, cakes, muffins, slices, healthy and slightly less healthy [but irresistable] options. Lovely fresh fit out, interesting chairs that might leave strange impressions on your bare legs, free papers to mooch, lovely creamy coffee. My only gripe, though, the usual - I don't want to find onion in my salad bowl when I specifically check if it's present before I order and am assured there is none.

Yelp
I couldn't decide on the rating for this place because I'm so sucked in by the decor and how beautifully presented the food is when it comes out. The cakes are just stunning, in presentation and in flavor. This little coffee shop definitely boasts all the right attractions for the leederville folk. But there's something I just can't quite out my finger on about it that stops me giving it a 5 star. I went for lunch recently and ordered a veggie bowl- sounded appetizing and healthy. The lady said it was filled with goodness- grilled zucchini, kale, avocado etc. and you get to pick your own choice of protein. I opted for the poached chicken. Presentation was stunning when it came out, the chicken tender and cooked well, the avocado dipped in sesame seeds and drizzled in Olive oil. But there was no kale, and there was a poached egg. I maybe didn't read the menu, but wasn't expecting a poached egg with my greens and protein. Was a nice little touch on the side. The vego bowl was tasty, well salted and flavored. I give Pixel 4 out of 5 for this lunch experience.

Yelp
The avocado mash with poached eggs was so tasty I forgot about how good my coffee was! My wife couldn't finish her omelette with salmon, capers and slivers of zucchini, had to help! Awesome combination of tastes. Genuinely friendly staff with smiles on everything including the coffee! Couldn't fault anything

Yelp
A quick stop off to get a takeaway coffee and banana bread. Really cool place, the front counter food cabinet had an amazing array of delicious food and sweet treats. Pixel is a small café but is packed with punch they serve amazing coffee, delicious food and is popular with the locals. I had ca takeway banana bread which was served heated with lemon curd the taste is phenomenal so delicious and the lemon curd gave the bread some oomph and tasted scrumptious. There were cosy seats outside or tables and chairs inside and the interior was cool. The staff are tentative and friendly. I look forward to my next expedition to this Café to try out their breakfast/lunch

Yelp
Pixel's interior is what my house would look like if my partner didn't have any input - sea foam green and white coloured everything, with gorgeous blooms on every table. The coffee is good. The food seems to currently constant of a hot breakfast menu and a couple of salads and a few bread based lunch options. The cakes are the real standout, I tried to chocolate and basil cream cake and yes it was as good as it sounds. Staff are friendly. I'd be here a lot more if they had WiFi.

Yelp
This little cafe has an outdoor seating area with colourful blankets and five to six tables inside. The counter is covered in delicious looking sweet treats. For those in a hurry, there are wraps and sandwiches in the glass display. Their brekkie menu is extensive with their most popular dish being the nourish bowl ranging from 15 to 17 dollars where you get flowering greens, nuts, seeds, a poached egg and choice of poached chicken, salmon or vegetarian (tofu and mushrooms). Being known for their coffee, they have a large selection of coffee types from drip to cold brew. Their mocha and hot chocolate contains melted coverture chocolate. But prices are hefty with mochas, hot chocolates and chais costing 5.60. They also have a large selection of chais. I went in wanting the stormy mushrooms but it wasn't on their menu. Got the pumpkin plate which is 17.50 and comes with ciabatta toast, two poached eggs, cream cheese, leaves ('salad'), and three thin slices of pumpkin. The service is excellent. I got an extra hot mocha and it was lukewarm when I got it. They replaced it with a new extra chocolatey one when I asked them to heat it up in the microwave. Food arrives swiftly. Staff is all smiles. The pumpkin plate was ok. Nothing spesh but am definitely going back for the coffee and service.

Yelp
Prettiest coffee I've ever had. This is one where you can judge a book by its cover - pretty and with substance. The coffee was on point and you can even choose your coffee bean. The cake cabinet was pretty too win a variety of naughty, nice and healthy choices. We opted for a light and zesty orange cake and a dense date cake with a tangy lemon curd. No crumbs were left to be the scene. The place itself is pretty too. Honestly not an ugly element there, except my sleep deprived head. It is as small as people say, which means sitting outside on the footpath with the pram (it was a stunning day), or heading somewhere else. One of the cafe workers dog is based outside who has a beautiful temperament and was a topic of conversation as passerbys thought she was mine. The staff are friendly and if pretty could describe someone's nature I'd use that too. In summary - this place is pretty and lives up to its looks.

Yelp
Small but cosy cafe just right next to the Leederville Tafe Campus. Easy to find n many parking spots ( ticket needed) Staff was friendly, menu choice is limit but tend to be healthy food. Coffee was ok, green juice not fresh made but from bottle. Overall experience was ok, not very surprising yet service was good.

Yelp
They brew their own almond milk which made the coffee beautifully smooth and creamy! Cute and cozy decor

Yelp
I walked in the door of Pixel Coffee and fell in love with the tiles. Not my usual response to a cafe, but the design work here is just gorgeous. Add fresh flowers on each table, bright smiles from the staff, and a very good long black in a mug... and you've got a really lovely way to start the day. The muffins were a bit late on the morning I arrived, so I waited at the table with my coffee and watched the morning crew drift in. Come on in, too! I'll be back for some of the treats in the cabinet later in the day. I might eat muffins for breakfast but I leave cake for the afternoons...

Yelp
Pixel Coffee Brewers has only been open for a few months, but has done a great job of placing itself near the top of many Perth "must visit" lists, including mine. If you've been anywhere near social media in the last few months you've probably seen a photo of at least one of their amazing cakes. We arrived just after 7am on Saturday morning and were surprised that we were the only customers, especially since there was a stream of what appeared to be tradesmen and cyclists going in and out of the rather average looking Juggler Cafe directly opposite. We wondered if it was because Pixel Coffee looks quite "feminine" inside (for want of a better word) and if so then they're missing out. The fit out and styling of Pixel Coffee is quite beautiful, and there has been some serious attention to detail putting the whole place together. Speaking of serious, most of the bench space is occupied by coffee paraphernalia and it showed in the quality of my two coffees (cappuccino and the long mac I left with). Coffee is from Melbourne roaster Seven Seeds. I was in the mood for something savoury but knew that I'd be able to pinch some of Renay's meal so I chose the French toast with banana, chocolate mascarpone and blackberry syrup ($17.50). Thankfully the dish wasn't overly sweet, and I was concerned that the chocolate mascarpone would be too rich but it was actually very subtle and probably my favourite thing on the plate. Renay chose the "stormy mushrooms" ($20.90) with polenta, parmesan, poached eggs and kale chips. The mushrooms were very tasty (a little salty for my liking), poached eggs perfectly plump and the polenta smooth and warm. Yum. Pixel Coffee is a little out of the main Leederville strip - although opposite The Re Store so hardly in the middle of nowhere - and unfortunately we were too early to see any of Pixel's incredible looking cakes, but based on today's experience we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Came for breakfast. Went for the smashed Avocado, fetta and poached eggs. Nitro coffee and a Cap. Breakfast was great, would have been better with a steak knife to get through the bread. Really cute decor. Outdoor seating available with umbrellas. white and turquoise furnishings throughout. Quite small inside, so I wouldn't recommend for more than 6 people in a group. Felt under dressed amongst all the hip leedy yuppies in my active wear (I swear! I'm exercising afterwards). Clearly this is a destination Cafe.

Yelp
It was good. The wait was quite long for breakfast. It was a very enjoyable breakfast but pricey too. Tea was beautiful, coffee was great. Would recommend for days other than Sunday mornings.

Yelp
Good food and coffee. Breakfast menu has a few interesting and tasty options from $15-20 like french toast , avo smash w eggs, acai porridge bowl and pumpkin plate . Big servings and all presented beautifully. V satisfying. Coffee is from 5 senses and they do filter in batch and pourover. Tried the batch brew which was delicious, and served in a decent sized mug for $3.70. That's value. Take away cups are pretty small (6oz small, and i think 10oz large) but most good coffee joints usually are. This is a cute little spot for a late breakfast , with decor and food you'll wanna instagram to all your stupid friends to remind them how much better your life is than theirs. Enjoy kiddies!

Yelp
Came here for an afternoon coffee and cake. We ordered the almond milk chai's and oh my word they were the best I've ever had! They make their own almond milk (wow!) the chai's were creamy and delicious. They had a gorgeous range of cakes (gluten free and vegan options) I got a pear and muesli muffin which did not disappoint. The staff were friendly and the interior is just gorgeous. Light and bright with pastel tiles, also their china is just lovely! Be warned though it is only a small little joint so be careful what time you come as you may not get a seat. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
The guys and gals at Pixel know what they are doing, offering incredible coffee and food for all. Plenty of options for those with dietary requirements. I'm gluten and dairy free so it's always nice to walk into a cafe and have yummy healthy options to choose from that I can eat. As I was visiting from the east coast Pixel came highly recommended by a family member as THE PLACE for good coffee and Acai bowls. I wasn't lead astray, even stopping by a second time. First visit for a late lunch, walked in to a beautifully styled cafe with flowers on tables and blankets on the chairs outside incase you are cold. Greeted by friendly staff more than willing to answer my inquisitive questions about the menu. I couldn't go past the Acai bowl. It was incredible, topped beautifully with fresh fruit, granola and edible flowers, almost too pretty to eat... Almost. Second visit was for breakfast, a staff member had highly recommended the warm porridge. My mind was blown, delicious doesn't even begin to describe how great it was and I haven't even gotten to the coffee yet. Which Incase you were wondering is just as incredible as the food. There was a constant flow of people passing through for a morning coffee on their way to work. If you are visiting Perth or even a local looking for something new do yourself a favor and make sure you stop by.... No regrets here! :)

Yelp
Superlatives not required. Trending as the best coffee in Perth with a range of options from Nicaragua, Kenya, and Colombia to name a few. Seriously awesome cakes that rival the best desserts available. Lucky if you can get a seat and if not worth the wait.

Yelp
Great first experience at Pixel Coffee in Leederville. The fit out is gorgeous. White walls and glass frontage really open up the small exterior. The coffee is great. The tea selection contains more than just the usual suspects. Breakfast menu sounds enticing. I'll be back tomorrow to try it out!

Yelp
Amazing coffee and gorgeous food. We went on Saturday for a coffee and liked the place so much we went back on Sunday for brunch!

Yelp
Good, friendly service! Lovely customer service from the barista... Excellent coffee too! Breakfast menu all day until 2pm. Short selection; vegetarian & vegan options. Small cafe, not convenient for large groups, 2-4 people would work best. Fast service for being packed! Would recommend and come back again!

Yelp
Great find. Fresh, ethical, innovative tasty and a visual delight. Great for vegans and vegetarians.

Yelp
First Nitro cold brew success! My petite feta and mushroom tart was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Definitely a place to watch!

Yelp
Came here because I saw them on a top 5 acai bowl in Perth list. Purchased 2 bowls, and they really delivered. Great mix of fresh fruit, the granola / nut mix was really tasty. It was only just big enough, would have preferred it to be 20% bigger, but it still gets 5 stars from this self proclaimed acai bowl connoisseur.

Yelp
The establishment looks beautiful, it's busy and the food is presented well but the taste in my classic pix was not there. There was no butter ok my toast or on the side and my toast was so burnt and cold I couldn't cut through it. My poached eggs were nice bacon averagely cooked - as in some bits over cooked and some under, what I would expect in a cheaper cafe. Others on the table had the stormy mushrooms which a mate said was nice and the pumpkin plate was good too. However the sweet French toast was burnt too and my friend who had that was unsatisfied. She has a sweet tooth as much as I do and is usually easily impressed but wasn't. She thought it looked like meat and was put off by it the minute it was put on the table. It was busy so we ended up on the shared table and tried to save seats for other in our party but other people were told to sit there anyway. So it was a bit of an issue with 2 ppl without a seat. There was a bit of a wriggle around and we were offered another stool so it worked out ok. As we were on a joint table though we kept being brought meals that weren't ours and there was a lot of confusion from guests and staff. There were no numbers either which made it twice as hard when they brought one meal from one group and another from a different group, out at the same time. I'm sad I recommended this for my friends who I haven't had to catch up with for a while as we were not all satisfied with our meals and were quite crammed at the end of the table with 5 of us! The coffee was good but I don't think it's worth the prices of the trip out to Leederville. I would not recommend this place.
google avatar

Russell P.

Yelp
My favorite cafe. There's an impressive selection of exquisite food for all tastes and dietary requirements, though I always get the salad with eggs and bacon ("Paleo Nourish Bowl": always delicious, guilt free and with minor tweeks from week to week!) A couple of choices for coffee blends and a large selection of teas. I've moved out of the area but still make a pilgrimage back regularly.

Anton M.

Yelp
The City of Vincent erected roadside seating arrangement, located outside this establishment, has improved the desirability of this café somewhat. Still I personally find it all too expensive, and a little pretentious with overall presentation. The question begs. Why does ' attempting to be cool' in Perth, come with such a price tag?
google avatar

Jayde H.

Yelp
Delicious food and coffee love the nourish bowls full of the good stuff, bit pricey but worth it have never been disappointed yet
google avatar

Yelp
Been here a couple times and am keen to go back for more. Their breakfasts are super tasty and sweet treats are amazing, I'm talking about the peanut butter chocolate brownie. Good coffee too and the Nitro Brew is an interesting way to do coffee if you're keen to try.

Yelp
Best coffee In Leederville! Amazing food, I love their avocado smash. Cakes are out of this world. Great staff and the place looks like a dream! A real gem of a place!

Yelp
I like to drink green tea, green tea here has a pretty good smell. It's impressive. The other thing that you must eat if you go there is Sweet French Toast, It's absolutely amazing.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and food that you can taste the love in. Every detail has been carefully considered. Only newly opened, I cannot wait to see where the girls take it from here.

Lucy L.

Yelp
tried the abundance bowl, it comes with two poached eggs but i asked to swap for the tofu and mushrooms, however, the flavour of it tasted very alcoholic, or very weird with a pungent flavour, there were only two pinches of tofu. I was very disappointed. The whole dish was cold, I wished it was served warm as it was a cold day. It came with the broccoli mash which was the highlight of the dish, was a lot of vegatable. Unfortunately, every element was cold, I felt like it was a waste of money, it was something i could make, like a salad in a jar. I had hoped for better experience.
