Our family was on a college tour/vacation and spent a few days in West Yarmouth in mid-July. We decided to check out Pizza Barbone while there, and this proved to be an excellent decision.
Our waitress was Sophie, who was attentive, knowledgeable, and helped to make this dinner an outstanding experience. I started with the mesculin salad.
Oh, the salad. (!!)
People… this salad was mind blowingly delicious! The watermelon radish was sliced just the right thickness with a mandolin. The fennel seemed marinated first, and there was a subtle flavor of what tasted like anchovy. I am not a vegetarian, but sometimes you eat something you will never forget. The marriage of flavors in the dressing( this is truly in the top 3 of most delicious, balanced dressings I have ever tasted) was just so damn good!!
My kids are still making fun of “mom’s reaction to the salad”.
Alright, so now the pizza- it is Pizza Barbone after all, right? I had the pistachio pesto pizza as you see here. Hubby had the pig and fig pizza. This is really amazing dough, they import the flour from Italy. It is tender with a really nice flavor. This pizza has a softer crust, a really unique, and delicious experience. We were a party of four and both of my kids loved their dinner too.Everything tastes fresh, made in house, and made with quality ingredients. We loved it so much we went back a second time before heading back to Maryland.
If anyone is planning a visit to Cape Cod, I encourage you to check this place out. A reservation helps. Well done Pizza Barbone!!
