The worst pizza I’ve ever had. I placed an order for delivery online for the shrimp and artichoke pizza. There is no mozzarella to this order, which I did not realize because this kind of pizza usually has mozzarella on it at every other place I’ve gone to. Anyway, the toppings sit on the dough making it look gray, discolored, and unappetizing. It was dry, under cooked, and luke warm. I called to check in but I just got an I’m sorry. Im absolutely disgusted I wasted nearly $40 for a pizza to go directly in the trash.

I ordered my food from doordash. From the time I ordered it to the time it came was only about 30mins. This concerned me because when my pizza came it was barely warm. If my pizza was freshly made, it should have been scorching hot. I am a truck driver and got the food delivered to me at my truck since thats where I sleep, I was very upset that my pizza arrived almost cold because I had no way to warm it up. I threw it away.Again, it wasnt cold because I got it delivered, pizza is still usually really hot on delivery. It was cold because it wasnt freshly made. It was already made and they just warmed it up and not long enough. One pizza in total cost me $40 and it was not worth it for an old pizza.

Google
Place makes a killer Margarita pizza. Chewy bubbly crust with a delicious sauce. Chop pasta salad is pretty good too, and I’m not a salad person.

john glover

Google
So disappointed, ordered my usual chopped pasta salad and it was terrible. The lettuce was old and discolored and there was some strange over seasoned and possibly breaded chicken on top. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Google
You think it is going to be a little pizza joint and then you are hit with a great menu of more than just pizza. The food is fantastic and far too big portions sizes!

Google
Fantastic salads and pizza. The staff are friendly, helpful, attentive, and on their game. Totally refreshing night out with a nice beer menu too

Google
Enjoyed the pizza! Thin crispy crust with so much flavor. We ordered a bacon chicken ranch pizza and it came to the table piping hot! All the flavors melted together perfectly. Definitely recommend!

Google
Great spot. That said, for the price of their salads, specifically the chopped pasta salad, there is not nearly enough chicken on it. Mainly all mushrooms and no meat. The sister salad to this from Recovery Room is massive, loaded with meat, and less in cost.

Yelp
Great pizza. Good sauce and cheese. Maybe could've been cooked a couple minutes longer. Plenty of parking in free garage next door.

Yelp
First time here. I LOVE the aesthetic of the place! Staff was very friendly. Chairs are comfy, and sturdy. The tables are also decently sized, which was nice. There is on street parking, but also a parking garage near by, plus it's close to some other businesses and things to do/ scenic walk spaces. They were out of the ravioli I wanted, but the chopped salad was good.

Yelp
Very solid food and fair prices. Dining room is nice too and great location in Downtown Westerly.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place! My husband and our friends tried this place the other day and it was really good! I know really good pizza and I'll say this pizza was pretty damn good! Reminds you of old school papa Gino's! The only thing I would say is the sauce could be a little sweeter but it was overall really good! My fried ordered the raviolis and she loved them and the garlic knots!!!! TO DIE FOR!!!

Yelp
We were out for a Sunday drive and after walking around stopped in for lunch. The restaurant smelled amazing when we walked in. The staff was friendly. We ordered the Mozzarella pizza. When it came out the crust is thin with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Seems like Sunday for lunch is the right time to come in. It wasn't very busy. The nice thing is you can watch them make your food. The kitchen isn't hidden like in most places.

Yelp
I hate to write a bad review but I wonder if Pizza Place has changed management or chefs by any chance? We have always been more than satisfied with their food offerings and never had any complaints whatsoever, however today we ordered a Quattro Formagio pizza and a Potato Pizza and both were not good. The Quattro (which we always ordered in the past because it was so very good) had no garlic or olive oil on it -therefore it had no flavor! The potato pizza also had no flavor and the potatoes were black and very unappealing (in fairness, we never ordered that before and certainly never will again), I know potatoes oxidize but I make pizza with potatoes at home and they never look that black.Even the crust on both pizzas (something we have always loved in the past) tasted re-heated and bland. What a disappointment. I hope this is a "one off" because the regular cooks may be off for the holidays? I am not certain we will order again.

Yelp
The best Italian combo grinder in town! A large will feed 3 people easily. Loaded with LOTS of cold cuts and fresh veggies. Try it, you won't be disappointed !
google avatar

Yelp
Try a white pizza with ricotta and your favorite toppings! Yummy!!! Only problem is they usually are closed a few days each week once the weather gets cooler/cold.

Yelp
So far my local goto pizza stop. Thin crust. Not too doughy. Good sauce. Not too salty or sweet. Good specialty menu. Fresh salads. Typical pizza parlor atmosphere. Nice outdoor seating. Appears clean and sanitary.

Brandon C.

Yelp
Place was dirty and gross, pizza was cold, super greasy, and tasted like cardboard, and the staff was super rude the whole time we were there. Absolutely avoid probably the worst spot in Montauk. Try a better pizza place there if you really want pizza or Italian food.
google avatar

Yelp
I went to pizza place mid week for dinner. I really think this place is getting better and better. The pizza and salads have always been good, but now it's just off the charts great! Don't expect a regular pizza joint when considering this establishment. It really has its own style and ambiance.

Jessica I.

Yelp
Just got a large meatball grinder and it was so delicious and a large was so big it could feed 2 people the meatballs were so flavorful 5 stars for sure!!

Yelp
Love their pizza, always great service, & especially the Gorgonzola salad is my absolute favorite!

Yelp
Hubby introduced me to PizzaPlace in Westerly. He used to go by himself "all the way from Warwick" because this shrimp and artichoke pizza is a thing of perfection. You either love it or it's totally not your thing. WE LOVE IT!!! We start with a Foster "oil can" and a small gorgonzola salad to share. The salad is perfectly chilled with a house vinaigrette that is tangy, tons of gorgonzola bits, sliced mushrooms for heft, red onion slivers give it a bite and a couple of cherry tomatoes for color. The photo is of a small but it could easily be enough salad for a family of four! When we order the pizza, we ask for them to rinse the artichokes and add more fresh garlic. We have added cheese in the past and it distorts the proportions of the ingredients. I don't know how they do it but the pizza crust holds up to the heavy toppings! The shrimp are perfectly cooked so that they pop in your mouth when you bite into them. And they do not skimp on the shrimp! No joke about the half pound of shrimp that they put on the pizza. There are so many different pizza options but we only ever get this one (unless we have a guest who isn't into a "weird" shrimp pizza). Sometimes we stop on the way to the casino and the leftover pizza, just out of the fridge, is still delicious! One last comment: the staff is lovely. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. The cooks are in the open so you can talk to them. We have asked questions about techniques and ingredients, they patiently shared their knowledge with us. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Finally! I have finally found a pizza place that makes me WISH I had gone to DOMINO'S !!!! I've never wished Domino's upon anyone until now. Seriously , if you want tasteless , greasy to thin to pick up pizza -this is it! Honestly any frozen pizza at Wal-Mart is a better choice. But 1/3 rd of the cost. 38.00 for to 14 inch pizza's. If someone gives this place anything more than 2 stars (for the pizza) they either own the place , work there or are related to someone. I only went there because some other places were busy or not open yet, MY BAD!

Yelp
I am told that The Pizza Place has long been a staple in Westerly, with its brick walls and possibly brick ovens. We went here to get pizza and tossed salad. The plain pizza was excellent tasting. $11.50 for a 14" pie= expensive. The 3 topping pizza was $18.50. It was also 14 inches. The green peppers were not cooked enough, the eggplant tasted fine and the carmelized onions were also fine= expensive. The tossed salad was very large, filled mostly with romaine lettuce. $3.95. Expensive. Though the meal was good, I felt it was way overpriced and with the sales tax at 7% and the local sales tax at 1%, topped off a slightly bitter taste in my mouth. Sarah , our server though, was a sweety.

Yelp
Located In the center of downtown westerly, this is a killer location. I have been here a few times for pizza and have never been disappointed. They serve a thin crust pizza with tons of options for toppings. They are also accommodating with requests to do a half and half pizza (so you can try two different pizzas). The pizza itself comes out quickly and it is consistently delicious. I have yet to try one I didn't love. The sausage and roasted peppers pizza is delicious and I would eat that again and again. They also make delicious salads so it's fun to get a salad and a pizza to split when you're with a friend.

Yelp
Our server Olivia was great. Very nice outdoor courtyard. Mozzarella pizza was delicious with right amount of cheese and sauce brought to close to edge of crust just the way we like it. To go salad was plentiful for two and the dressing was delicious and light.

Yelp
I went there yesterday with my friends because i've been there in the past and the food was good but expensive which i had already knew, when we sat down the waitress came over and gave us menus and we got drinks but she didn't give us straws which i thought to myself it wasn't that big of a deal but then when we got our food she forgot an entire pizza that we had ordered and didn't say anything about it, finally we ate the food which was good but, the service was slow and crappy not to mention they over charged us for the food and the plates were dirty, the atmosphere of the place was good but smelled like a retirement home. 2/5

Yelp
PizzaPlace is the place to go if you're craving thin crust, wood fired pizza. They have so many cool pizza options, it makes it so hard to choose. The margarita pizza is to DIE FOR. Don't forget to get yourself some yummy garlic knots to start, but make sure you save room for the huge pizzas. The location is awesome, so after you eat you can walk around and check out the surrounding area.

Yelp
Had an early dinner with my sister today and we each ordered the Tuscan soup and a pizza. The soup that came was a beef minestrone, but we were assured it was the Tuscan soup. So we ate it anyway. It was beef minestrone NOT Tuscan. Then my pizza came without cheese. Restaurant pizza without cheese?!?! I would've liked to have been told that it wouldn't have cheese since that's not a common thing. Or if I missed it somewhere written on the menu, just double check with the patron. Disappointing meal for sure.

Yelp
This place is not as good as it used to be. Soggy pizza the last 3 times. Bummer. Not sure whats going on but they are "off". Hope they get their act together soon!

Yelp
One of my absolutely favorite places to eat. If you've read my other reviews you'll know what matters to me- food quality/freshness/portions, atmosphere and service (especially kid friendliness). PizzaPlace excels at each. Mainly a pizza restaurant (duh), they also have a fairly robust menu of salads and other dishes. A favorite of mine is Sheila's favorite salad. Like most things there, it's served in a family-sized portion and makes for a great appetizer or side. As for drinks, the well-stocked beer fridges are visible from the floor. They carry an excellent selection of old reliable domestic & foreign beers along with local crafts. Having two young kids, kid-friendliness means a lot. Every server here is sweet and friendly to the kids. You can see the pizzas being prepared in the front, and they never mind when we walk the kids up to watch them. Some of the crew there can do pretty cool dough tosses, very entertaining!

Yelp
Good pizza but disappointing size. Only one size pizza that equates to a medium pizza at most places. Limited hours.
google avatar

Nate A.

Yelp
Pretty good pizza. Not a fan of their gluten free crust, but other than that it's a nice place!

Rachel M.

Yelp
Real authentic italian pizza! It's simply the best in town. Be mindful that it's "thin" and "doesn't have a lot of sauce" because that's how pizza is originally supposed to be. I usually get the margherita or mozzarella pizza.
google avatar

Chelsea H.

Yelp
We grabbed grinders from here on our way to the beach and the staff was incredibly friendly and the grinders were delicious! We loved the bread they used and they were huge! Great prices too!
google avatar

Kris W.

Yelp
Our family only orders from 2 pizza places in Westerly & Pizzaplace is one of them. I am a huge fan of their thin crust pizzas. Ingredients are fresh & they have such great options on their menu. My favorites include Ed's BBQ & their pulled pork but I haven't had one yet that disappointed me. It's a great place to take a family & the decor is clean and inviting. There's a great outdoor seating area that's perfect in the summer especially after a long day at the beach. They also have a pretty good beer selection & they dishes other than pizza. Their chopped pasta salad is a favorite of my wife & I think it's pretty good too. It's borderline criminal to give Pizzaplace 2 stars BUT Phil H has a few good points. I could easily polish of one of their pizzas alone & they are a bit pricey. Parking can be difficult too but it's in a great downtown location.

Yelp
Every Friday night....This is a classic spot for my family. We have been coming to PizzaPlace for decades and have been enjoying their pizza as far back as the early 90s when there was a location in Mystic. My recommendation: The grilled vegetable or the Ed's barbecue. Their house salad dressing is outstanding.
google avatar

Johnny R.

Yelp
Do you enjoy overpaying for mediocre food? Then pizza place is the place for you. Their pizza is like putting mozzarella cheese on a soggy cracker. Slow service really accentuates the unpleasantness of the crappy overpriced food. Save yourself the trip and go somewhere, anywhere else. There are a lot of options.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Always consistently good (and pricy). After a beautiful walk at Barn Island, lunch today consisted of a large Blacksmith Salad and the. Minus a star for the two cherry tomatoes and maybe 5 slices of mushroom (I struggle with that being a $9.50 salad). The bacon, spinach and tomato pizza was perfectly cooked and served in a timely fashion. Galpal had water, I had a hard cider. Food was great, as mentioned before I just have a hard time shelling out 35, pre-tip for a small pizza and bowl of lettuce.
google avatar

Meg T.

Yelp
Pizzaplace has a great space with tons of tables. The staff is always very friendly, and you always know you'll get the same quality. My favorite is definitely the chopped pasta salad - I know a lot of people like their house balsamic dressing, but try the creamy garlic dressing on it - so good!! Don't forget to start with a foccacia bread or David's garlic bread and a beer from their wide selection. For pizza, Ed's BBQ Chicken or Hawaiian are my go-tos. They also have grinders (a few good ones) and pasta (this is the only category I might skip). FYI, there is a free parking lot right next door (in case you can't find a spot on the street).

Frank S.

Yelp
I love the food here but how can you be closed everyday Christmas week except for Wednesday (12/23). I realize some people may think I am a jerk for posting this but do these small businesses REALLY want to make money? There is only one thing you can't sell in retail and that is "no" - as in "no" we don't have that, "no" we are out (86) of that , "no" we are not open. The week of Christmas has always been a very busy restaurant week....

B A.

Yelp
The garlic knots & pizza are great, no real complaints there. 2 stars is really based on the service we received. We got no refills on our drinks after sitting there for awhile after we had asked and it seemed like the younger blonde/brown hair hostess had a sour face and attitude when we asked for Parmesan for our pizza...which made us pretty uncomfortable. Essentially tossed the grated Parmesan on the table after we asked for it. $50 later, won't be back.

Ken M.

Yelp
This had the best quatro formaggio pizza I've ever had. The pizza is served on thin crust and cooked excellently. The pepperoni pizza is above average, as well. The chili is middle of the road. The price and service are excellent as well. Definitely recommended.

Samantha E.

Yelp
The gluten free pizza is really good! I was impressed with the waitresses care and knowledge towards my gluten intolerance. I really feel comfortable eating my comfort food from here!
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
The margherita pizza here is really good.
google avatar

Yelp
Great food, great service!I come here quite a bit with my boyfriend and we both love the food, but we used to love the garlic knots, which just taste like plastic now unfortunately. Everything else is great though!

Yelp
Dinner tonight was a large Italian grinder for myself (I'll eat half and save half for tomorrow.) a large chopped pasta salad and Dave's garlic bread for my wife and son to spilt. This is probably the best Italian grinder I've ever had. At 18" it is way too much for one person. The bread is always fresh and in high demand, in fact if you don't order early enough during peak summer season they run out. The cold cuts including salami, cappicola, mortadella and provolone cheese are always fresh as well. The chopped pasta salad is excellent with fresh ingredients including chunks of chicken, Gorgonzola cheese, ditalini macaroni and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Dave's garlic bread is pizza crust with a perfect blend of garlic, oregano, salt, pepper and mozzarella cheese.
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
Came for a quick bite post-beach. Quick and easy service. However on the Margarita pizza the basil was kinda gross and ruined our pizza.

Patricia H.

Yelp
Ordered two small chopped pasta salads to go, one for my husband and one for myself. The lettuce was mushy, the chicken pieces negligible and hardly any crispy bacon. Maybe it was an off night. There was a woman waiting in line for her pizza order for forty minutes also.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
I was here for a Congressional event as a Volunteer for the VA and was quite impressed with this place. I would have taken some some pics but wasn't able to due to situation. The pizza was delicious and I tried several different slices. I'm not a big fan of veggie pizzas, but they had one pizza that I know my wife would have loved. The pizza had eggplant, sliced squash, asparagus, and tomatoes on it and it was phenomamal. Their regular pepperoni was good too. For those that like beer with their pizza, they have a wide variety of those too. I'd never been to Westerly, but if I go back,I'll definitely get pizza from this place.
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
Love the different varieties of pizzas and whole wheat and gluten free crusts. The salads are amazing. As others have the said the chopped pasta is great and I love ordering this and bringing to parties, bbq's. The grinders are a hidden gem on the menu and are seriously the best value in town. Great place for families and solid beer/wine selection.
google avatar

Brandon E.

Yelp
Hands down fave take out spot in Westerly. Their chop pasta salads (and all salads really) are AMAZINGLY good!
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
I went on a weekday afternoon. The place was empty and my friend and I got a very strong musty smell as soon as we entered. We sat down and got the menus, but the smell was so strong, we had to leave.
google avatar

Laura Y.

Yelp
Ahh, Pizza Place, how I love thee. Let me count the ways... 1. Thin crispy crust 2. Toppings galore 3. Great big salads 4. Open kitchen where you can see your pie being made 5. Beer 6. Great for a date 7. The way you smell like pizza even after you leave 8. Located right in downtown Westerly MMmmmm...pizza
google avatar

Phil H.

Yelp
I lived in Westerly for a little over a year and frequented Pizza Place because friends of mine enjoy it. If I could choose, I'd go to Famous or Vetrano's instead. The pizza tastes good, and there are many creative options, but the value is absurd. It's "one-size-fits-all" pizza, so there are no small, medium or large options. For the sake of keeping it simple, their pies are equivalent to a medium anywhere else, except you're charged for the price of a large. One pizza barely feeds two people. When you review your bill, you'll wonder how two smallish speciality pizzas and a full size salad cost you over $40. You'll also still be hungry.
google avatar

Meggie M.

Yelp
This place gave me some of the happiest of childhood memories. All I can say is that their Hawaiian pizza is to die for. I don't know if it their freshly grilled brick-oven, fresh ingredients, or the warm smells that permeate this establishment. But my goodness, if you find yourself in Rhode Island, please do yourself a favor and grab a slice from Pizza Place. Your senses will thank you.
google avatar

Mametchi M.

Yelp
Been going here for over ten years. The best pizza I have ever had. Good salads are the blacksmith, and chopped pasta. Love it !
