Pizzaria Luzzo

Give it a miss! I think this may be a chain but there are far better places to eat in Tavira. There’s a much more genuine and better pizzeria around the corner. Food was very ordinary and the salad was very poor. Service was totally disinterested and lacking any personality. Cars passing right beside outdoor table. Don’t waste your time here, far better places in Tavira.

Party of four people. Hungry for pizza🤠. After ordering the pizzas came quite quickly. You can chose between thin crusty or thick version. You can also create your own pizza 👍👍 All for where happy with their pizza. Crispy, enough topping and tasted great.

Delicious pizza here with creative combinations. Not your usual “4 cheese/pepperoni/margarita” menu—although it has those as well. The mushrooms are roasted portobello for example. The restaurant itself is handsomely designed with cool but subtle touches (the floor tiles are a great modern/classic blend). It all makes the ambience very chill and interesting.

We had the simple salad, tagliatelle and margarita pizza. The salad was very good. The pizza and pasta both arrived hot although the pizza had to be returned to the kitchen as I pointed out that there was no basil on it. All in all, the food was good, not exceptional, but still tasty. Service was a bit spotty, very friendly but a bit disorganized. I think our main gripe was the price of water - 5.6€ for two bottles, which I think is excessive. Would we return? Yes, I think so. =============== UPDATE We returned a few nights later to give it another chance based on the owner’s response. Again, the food - pizza, salad and tiramisu were excellent. BIG improvement on the service this time. Pedro was our waiter and he was exceptional in terms of service as well as on a personal level where he shared some interesting information with us. It’s that kind of connection that customers appreciate and remember.

We LOVE the pizza here! So much that we came back 2 days later before we flew home! If you like Neapolitan pizza, this is the place in Tavira! Lots of delicious toppings to choose from and the staff are really friendly!

From the moment we walked into Luzzo, we knew we were in for something special. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was absolutely exceptional. A huge shoutout to Pedro, who went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. His attention to detail, genuine hospitality, and knowledge of the menu were top-notch — he made us feel like honored guests. And the food? Simply divine. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can tell the kitchen puts care and passion into everything they serve. From the appetizers to dessert, each bite was a delight. If you’re looking for a restaurant that nails both incredible food and impeccable service, Luzzo is it. We can’t wait to come back!

We had a very pleasant dinner at Luzzo as a party of 3 and all agreed that it was the best pizza we had in Portugal, after years of travel here. The waiter were really friendly and we sat in the warm and nice streets of Tavira.

Food was really good, recommend the cheesecake. Pedro served us and he was excellent, learned his customers was engaging and a pleasure to talk to. We talked a lot about his upcoming degree, hope we helped. Please look after him when he comes home at vacations. Tim and Angie
