Fantastic Pizzeria in the Heart of Sorrento We had a wonderful experience at Pizzeria da Franco! The food was absolutely delicious – proper wood-fired pizzas and a lovely dessert to end the meal. The atmosphere was buzzing, full of locals and visitors alike, which gave it a great energy. Service was friendly and fun. Even though it was very busy and things took a bit longer, it was completely understandable and worth the wait. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Italian pizza in a relaxed, vibrant setting. We’ll definitely be back!

Recommended by our taxi driver with three grown children also living in Sorrento. Turned out to be an excellent choice. The mixed appetizer dish was enough for four while waiting for our pizzas. Every ingredient was fresh and tasty, which made our pizzas excellent. The dough was thin and flavorful. The price was also reasonable.

Google
Excellent pizza you must visit here. Fabulous and best pizza I've had in Sorrento. Reasonably priced, nice environment, quick service, locals use this for deliveries too which speaks volumes about this pizzeria. I highly recommend you try it here. It's a little outside the centre square of Sorrento but well worth a visit. Highly recommend the quattro, 4 different variations of pizza and well worth it. If not, make sure you get one with a tomato base as it tastes superb (i particularly liked the one with a little garlic in!) Try here you won't regret it!

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from our B&B owner, and it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely incredible, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and soft-spoken, making the experience even more enjoyable. This place is on another level—absolute madness! I’ve never had a pizza this juicy; every bite makes you want to keep going. They offer a wide variety of pizza options, and it’s no surprise that the place is packed during dinner hours. Hands down, the best in Sorrento!

Every bite was a symphony of flavor. This is a traditional small Italian bistro. There’s almost always a wait but well worth it! EVERYTHING is homemade. The antipasto, meats, cheeses , olives and artichoke hearts are exquisite. This is where the locals eat and it’s for a very good reason. Don’t pass this up if you are in Sorrento!

Google
Could not recommend Pizzeria de Franco enough. Service is quick, we were sat down without any wait both times, the food comes out very quickly and the quality is just outstanding. Absolutely delicious pizza! We tried, the following pizzas Scostumata, Pulled pork pizza (chef special), Pizza de Franco, Quatro Stagioni. We loved each one, my favourite was the Scostumata, something about buffalo mozzarella and fresh tomatoes 🥰 Prices are very good, around €11 for an atomic pizza (good portion!) and I believe €19 for a 2 person pizza. Highly recommend this place!

Very quick service. Pizza is maybe a bit more similar to romano. Slightly thin, and very nice. They offer other food options like a sandwich like meal. Good pricing

Google
Solid place for gluten free pizza. The crust is very thin, crunchy and crispy, it's hard to cut with a knife but I appreciate the safety for GF protocols. Our gluten free pizzas came out on a different plate than our tables regular pizzas so I felt extra safe. The pizza was yummy but we ordered an entire tray of prosciutto for an appetizer which was honestly the best thing I tried!

Yelp
Everyone recommended getting pizza at Da Franco during our recent visit to Sorrento. Everyone was right! My wife and I walked in before the dinner rush. We knew that we were going out to dinner later but also that I wanted to try their pizza. Got a nice table in a fairly large restaurant. Wait staff was pleasant and proud of their pizza. They recommended a special pie of the day and I went for it. The pie featured yellow tomatoes, olives, and n'duja sausage. The cheese was delicious and the pizza was perfectly crafted. Amazing crust, all around a great pie. My wife got the prosciutto and mozzarella platter. Of course the mozzarella was outstanding but I want to call attention to the prosciutto. It was the best we had during our entire Italian trip. Flavor was perfect but the texture was melt in your mouth goodness! Wish I had more time in Sorrento, just to head back to Da Franco!

Yelp
...They don't give you water?? A few days ago, me and my companion visited this joint while staying in Sorrento--and it was MESSY. Firstly, they don't serve you free water in a glass, you have to buy bottled water. The food was at most mediocre. Apparently out there broccoli is not broccoli florets but almost cooked spinach, so when I ordered a pizza sandwich with sausage, "broccoli" and cheese, it was very disappointing, as someone who is not a fan of soggy cooked spinach. However, their speck was enjoyable as it came pure as could be, just speck on a plate. Moving on, they're severely understaffed. Our waiter was incredibly rude, even going so far as to say "not now" when I approached him at the interior of the restaurant since he had not checked on our table in about 45 minutes. Another waiter that wasn't even serving our table did better than our waiter! Ridiculous! Finally, the ambiance was somewhat enjoyable, with warm lighting and all, but I didn't really experience it since we dined outside that night. Just want y'all to know that this place may have been having a bad day, but the service and food was absolutely awful.

Yelp
The Da Franco pizza is bomb Other ones we tried were good but nothing write home about Anchovy pizza way to salty, in particular Good value and would say the individual size is probably 1.5 portions fyi Would definitely come back but stick with their namesake and try the basic margarita pizza

Yelp
We tried this place because it was recommended by a friend, so we decided to give it a try. The place was really good. We ordered the quattro stagioni. This pizza is made for two people, and it has four different types of pizza: Margherita, Primavera, marinara, and pizza ai funghi. Every option was really good. When we got there, the place was packed, but they found us a seat as soon as we walked in. What I noticed about Italy is that even when the restaurants are crowded, we still get seated extremely fast. For this restaurant, we had a group of four.

Yelp
Service was fast and the pizza was delicious. We tried the Quattro pizza which was perfect. It gave you a little slice of four different pizzas.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious!! We ordered the pizza to share for two people and had leftovers! Service was a little show so if you're not in a rush it's not a big deal. Staff was super friendly!

Yelp
Great first stop in Sorrento. Very close to the train station, which was perfect for us. They have two sizes, the bigger was perfect for two. You could taste the fresh ingredients. The staff were friendly. They also had Wi-Fi. There was indoor and outdoor seating. Would definitely recommend a visit here!

Yelp
The way pizza is meant to be. Perfect crust. Crispy, slightly chewy. I strive to make my own pizza dough at home like this. You must fly from California to Sorrento to learn what real pizza is like.

Ligia U.

Yelp
Best pizza in Sorrento. I dream about this pizza, great service as well! It's a must visit place when visiting Sorrento!

Kathleen E. L.

Yelp
Great pizza spot that was recommended by two separate locals and it did not disappoint. Wasn't sure which pizza to order and he said no worries I'll create one for you. Created combo pizza for us!! Delizioso! Grazie!

Yelp
Came here for lunch . So good. Got pizza and the sandwiches. Very fresh and tasty. Casual environment, very busy. Service was good.

Yelp
Zero complaints! This place was PACKED with to go orders for the win! We sat, waited for the man to come over, ordered, chatted, people watched and peeped the flow. You sit down, order then get up and pay at the register by the door. Pizza was good, perfect late night place.

Yelp
We enjoyed da Franco so much, we went twice! Both times we shared a salad and a saltimbocca. We loved everything we got. Service was kind, and they have great air conditioning and wifi. The second time, we also got a cannoli and it was delicious as well! Definitely worth a stop while in Sorrento.
google avatar

Yelp
This little pizza shop on the outskirts of Serrano is a true gem. Don't expect a fancy environment or out of this world service HOWEVER everyone at the table agreed it was the best pizza we've had in Italy! From the salty anchovies to the perfect crust it was truly the Italian experience we had been looking for! For a classic pizza the cheese seemed a little heavy side which gave it an American spin but everything else felt very authentic! While it a high end restaurant it is clean and classy! Come here for a quick bite in downtown with plenty of flavor and classic experience! Simple yet exploding with flavor!

Joel T.

Yelp
Excellent pizza and good service. Would recommend and would certainly return when in Sorrento again.

Yelp
We went to this place twice during our one week stay in Sorrento and pizza was amazing Highly recommended

Yelp
Solid pizza and fantastic calzones! Friends just arrived from NJ and we wanted a quick bite so they could go back to the hotel and crash. We were a group of ten and the owner accommodated us by pushing two picnic tables together lengthwise so we were all sitting at one long table. Wine arrived promptly, always important! And we all ordered individual pies or a calzone. Everyone enjoyed their pizza. I had the sausage with artichoke hearts. It was good but it didn't have enough mozzarella for my preference. The crust was al dente with crisp edges. No too thick but definitely not thin which is my preference. Too much dough fills me up. I could barely finish two of the four slices but everyone else ate their entire pie. We were offered dessert and limoncello, of course, but my friends were tired from a long day of travel so we just had the pizza and wine. Service was friendly. Inside does get noisy as it's a big room and with all hard surfaces So noise bounces around. We liked it and would definitely come back.

Yelp
We visited Sorrento in March to avoid crowds and afford pizza, all the other things too but let's face it pizza needs to happen! This was our first trip to Italy and we had high hopes for the culinary experience. Da Franco kept popping up during my extensive research so we made it a priority on food bucket list. Despite the language barrier (ours not theirs) we managed to order from the overwhelming amount of choices, didn't know you could make pizza shine in so many inventive ways! I had mortadella and pistachio with cheese and no tomato sauce. Outstanding crust and cold cuts! Husband had a more classic pie but with yellow tomatoes our new favorite! Service was good, very quiet and relaxed atmosphere before dinner rush I imagine. I knocked off a star for cannoli and biscotti, seemed like the cannoli was sitting for too long and biscotti were kinda too bland. Pizza pizza and more pizza would be my recommendation for your visit to DA Franco.

Yelp
Best pizza I have ever eaten! Such fresh and wonderful ingredients! Fair pricing and very satisfying!

Kelli H.

Yelp
The pizza was the best we had during our trip. It was also our cheapest meal. This place is a block or so off the city center. The service was efficient and friendly.

Yelp
We were greeted with friendly smiles as we entered the restaurant, but it all went downhill after that. I want to preface that I almost never leave a negative review but this one deserves it. We ordered a couple salads to start the meal but turned out to be a horrible idea. The salad had no dressing and the lettuce in the salad was browning. We tried addressing this on three different occasions, including our waiter, but nothing was done to fix the situation. We gave them a chance, and they failed miserably. We asked for a new salad but non was given and no refund was provided. In addition, we ordered the pizza sampler which was another regrettable decision. The marinara sauce was inedible. It was way too bitter. One of my guests just nibbled on the crust avoiding the marinara as shown in the attached picture. During my visit, I saw another guest complain about how burnt their crust was. I guess they were having a bad day, but they definitely do not deserve another high star review which compelled me to try this tourist trap in the first place.

Yelp
The pizza here was the best we had while in Sorrento. Service was good and we'd definitely recommend giving this place a try!

Yelp
This place was highly recommended by someone who had been prior, which is why we stopped by. I had very high hopes and maybe that's where I went wrong, but the pizza was just OK. It wasn't the first one while in Italy, so, there was a comparison I could make. The crust is on the thicker side, and definitely different from most of the crusts (thin and chewy) that I had at other pizza places. Service was a bit horrendous--super slow for them to bring menu, get your order, bring your food, and even to pay the bill. We were probably seated for at least 15 minutes before they gave us the menu, and then another 15 minutes before they came to take our order. It's a cute vibe inside, and their bathroom is adorable.

Zaza M.

Yelp
Decent pizza and wine for a decent price in Sorrento! Service was fine; the vibes of this pizzeria are a lot more casual than the other location in Sorrento.
google avatar

Rachael S.

Yelp
Best pizza we had during our time in Italy! Get a few to share as we did to try the different options. So many to choose from makes it hard to decide!
google avatar

Hungry L.

Yelp
Decent fast casual pizza place that is opened until 2am and close to the bus station. Better pizza can be found elsewhere. Place has ample seating.

Susy K.

Yelp
Wonderful pizza and saltimbocca. We have been there 3 times. It's not a fancy place. You can eat outside.
google avatar

Thomas A.

Yelp
Solid pizza here. This place can get crowded though, and the service is iffy. Sometimes they are attentive, but also there are times you can get lost in the madness. When my wife and I came here, there was a torrential downpour, so we quickly got in and got on the waiting list. There was a 10 minute wait. Eventually we got seated. They have a lot of pizza choices. Their pizzas are great. Not too chewy but perfectly crispy. They weren't thin but not too thin where a slice will fall apart on you. Do you yourself a favor and get a pizza at Da Franco. You know this place is good when they have lots of ppl waiting to be seated as well as picking up.

Yelp
Excellent pizza from a wood fired oven in a more casual setting. The pizzas are huge and beer is cold. Great for all ages.

Jazzlyn V.

Yelp
Amazing!! 10/10 best pizza in Italy so far. Amazing service and so fun and friendly service.

Yelp
I'm not sure why I need to leave a review. But as a home pizza chef (I do have a pizza oven) I was intent to find authentic Napoli pizza. And Da Franco fit the bill. We had the Napoletana (anchovies, imho, are an absolute must for the Napoli pizza experience). Pizza for two was more than enough for two. The prices are more than affordable for an American in Italy. Just go.

Yelp
Pizzeria da Franco was suggested by our tour guide, Nico. Fast service, reasonable pricing, and pizza was delicious! So glad we got arrived when we did because it was packed five minutes after we sat down.

Yelp
Discovered this place just walking down the main streets of Sorrento. Tried the pizza and calzone. The portion is huge. Very good flavor and fresh ingredients on the pizza. The calzone was a tad bland and I didn't care for the ham inside, but the eggplant was great. If I tried it again, I'd prob do the calzone without the ham. Cool little place with great pizza. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Ate here one night and the pizza was relatively good. To be honest though, I've eaten WAY better pizza in the USA, so don't expect too much. A few nights later we wanted a take out pizza as it was pouring with rain and this restaurant was next to our Airbnb. Ordering was easy, but when I wanted a napkin and plastic cutlery to go (you need a knife to cut the crust as it's pretty tough!), I was told I was not allowed!!!! Reserved only for eat in patrons. What the heck? One pays the same price for a pizza whether you eat in or out. Crazy! Not sure I'd recommend this restaurant unless you are okay with mediocre food and service.
google avatar

josh D.

Yelp
Came here for dinner. Pizza was amazing! Wait wasn't bad and food came out fast. Pizzas were big. Tried 3 different pizzas and a calzone, all were good! Don't miss this place.

Jay S.

Yelp
Best pizza ever. Ever. The red pepper oil was Excellent. Try not to go during lunch as it is packed. Open until 2:00am.
google avatar

John Z.

Yelp
I know this is a very popular place, but for myself and my dinner partner, it was okay. Not bad, not great. It was average. We had better pizza in Sorrento, much better. On the positive side, he crust was good - on the negative side - the tomatoes were very very bland. The service was very spotty also. The vibe and atmosphere were great.

Chris T.

Yelp
Numerous options for pizza. Always busy but line does move fast. We had the four season (mixed pizza you get to sample 4 of their pizza offering). All were delicious. Dough was chewy. Nice vibe. Very reasonable price.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a must. The Pizza is amazing. The service is also quite good. We had a Margharita with Parma crudo. The size for two spoke is more than adequate. It was more than we could eat but it was so good we stuffed it in. There appeared to be plenty of seating early in the evening but since the Italians eat later in the evening the place is jammed after 7:00pm. My final comment is; don't miss this place. Whether you go for lunch or dinner you must make going here a priority.

Neil R.

Yelp
Was told by our driver this was the best pizza in Sorrento, I can't say that yet but it was excellent. Had a personal sausage, broccoli (rabe) and mozzarella pie which was wonderful, with a glass of the house wine. My wife had a carpaccio salad which was also excellent, very nice portion. Will be back...

J M.

Yelp
Best pizza in Italy--at least as far as the last 7 days go! Thin crust and crispy. We were happy they made it so fast for takeout. Most hustle I have seen here--they were crushing it! Fast service and helpful guy taking orders helped me get 3 great choices. Only got pics of 2-other one was gone in a flash.

Carol N.

Yelp
Best pizza!! It's been a few years, and I still remember how delicious it was!! Try the prosciutto and arugula!! Amazing!!

Tonya M.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant based on Yelp's recommendation. It did not disappoint! Ingredients were so fresh. We tried the Napoletana (anchovies and olives) and another with sausage. Put this on your list!
google avatar

Yelp
Extensive pizza menu, delicious food, great location. Good prices and seems popular with the locals.

David W.

Yelp
Food and service was very good and all at a great price. Would recommend for pizza and sandwiches
google avatar

Taleen N.

Yelp
Still sitting at the restaurant as I write this! It's the BEST Calzone I've ever had and an amazing spicy salami pizza! The ambiance is simple but adorable and the place is filled with locals which should tell you everything you need to know! The location is not in the touristy part, but it's close enough and WELL WORTH IT! Great service! A must visit in Sorrento!

Jamie W.

Yelp
Such good pizza!! The single size is huge and they had a gluten free crust. Amazing tasting pizza with great service on top of it. Definitely recommend!

Nick R.

Yelp
Not much to look at but if you're looking for that outstanding delicious pizza, this is the place! Note- it's a high paced place. Have a good idea what you want before you sit down

Yelp
Good pizza and wine. Wide menu selection. Enjoyable experience for our lunch. Recommend.

Yelp
Worst pizza ever. Don't waste your time - pizza was sloppy and cheese was only on half. My order was incorrect as well
