"A Memorable Pizza The delicious aroma of pizzas baking in a brick kiln welcome you to the warm and cozy eatery La Baula. The most famous pizzeria in the area, it gets its name from the baula, or leatherback, turtles that lay their eggs nearby. This is the place for delicious pizza, friendly service, and a casual ambience. After one meal at Baula, it will be on your short list of favorite pizza joints around the world."

We had the pepperoni, the Baula, and the Chèvre and all 3 were great! Friendly service too!

We had dinner here one night on a recent trip to Tamarindo. The Baula is just a a short walk up a side street off the Main Street that’s near the Vindi food store. The Green Papaya is on the same street. La Baula is a large restaurant. All seating is outdoors, most in a covered area with bar, the other is in the outdoor courtyard. Speaking of the courtyard, this a a good area for kids to burn off some steam or keep active while you eat. There are a variety of things to keep them busy there. The pizza menu is large, with many choices. The pizzas are about 12” in diameter. Enough to feed two with 4 slices each. The crust is thin and tasty. The ingredients, fresh. Overall good value for tasty pizza. Service prompt.

Pizza felt a bit hyped relative to reviews. Crust was good, but the toppings were just okay in quality and sauce was also meh. Come for the atmosphere - cool lighting and great place for kids to play. Don’t get too stoked about the pizza or you may be disappointed.

We stopped in for dinner and ordered the Meat Lovers Pizza and Sangria. The pizza was cooked to perfection and the sauce and thin crust was delicious. The staff was nice and friendly and very attentive. They have a beautifully decorated outdoor garden setting. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience.

Amazing pizza and best service you could ask for all in a beautiful restaurant setting. The restaurant offers authentic Italian pizza with great drinks and desserts. Servers were able to communicate well in English and Spanish and the manager speaks Italian as well. Go for the pizza but do not skip the dessert or limoncello. As a bonus, there is also an outdoor eating area with a playground for younger guests.

We wound up here on Easter since most other restaurants were closed. This is a pizza only place with plenty of tables. The pizza itself was decent and d the service was quick.

Poser pizza. Tony’s frozen pizza from the store is better. I don’t know how people can leave feedback saying it’s good artisan pizza like from Italy? Not even close. The bake yard right up the street has much better pizza and it’s not a “pizzeria”. This is a pizzeria that specializes in pizza, what a joke. Waitress brought us the wrong pizza and delivered ours to others. We got it back after the others had already grabbed a slice and then put it back,WTF? I would not recommend this place from the experience we had.

First of all the restaurant itself looks straight out of a travel magazine. It’s beautiful. The play area for kids is a huge bonus for those with little ones. The pizza was delicious with the crust being a perfect balance of crispy and chewy. Blue cheese was a surprise of our cheese pizza and we ate every slice. Highly recommended
