Best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had! 💛

Located inside soho hotel. Great food! I can’t remember the last time that I have been at a group dinner (5 people) and EVERYONE enjoyed and even loved their food. We all got something different and it was all very good. The apps and the mains. Even the dessert. The service was definitely not what it used to be, and the waiter had to be asked or prompted to do just about anything like offer the dessert menu or please return ti the table because it’s been so long. It is a minimum spend of $75 per person so it may be pricey for some. But with that said, service should be a BIT better.

Food was good, but the service was very strange and weird. Server would wait behind us to finish eating and watch us for dishes to be emptied and taken away. We found that kinda creepy and weird. If the restraunt focuses on training servers better and to be more organic and welcoming I would say it’s would be a good restraunt. However with servers that are hard to understand and wait around and watch you eat I would say the experience was uncomfortable and weird. Good food though, staff just needs better training in hospitality.

First timer - Came here while on a business trip. Found it randomly walking, and it looked good. Well, it wasn't just "good" it was excellent. Fist real meal of my day due to traveling, and it couldn't have been better. Great atmosphere, great staff, and even better delicious food. I had the rigatoni a la vodka-cozy food that hit the spot. I have added it to my Google Maps favorites for my next visit to Toronto as it has now become a staple.

The drinks were amazing! I didn’t love my dish, but my friends’ food was delicious. The service was top-notch, and I’ll definitely be back.

Came here for dinner on a Monday evening and it was not busy at all. The service was great and the food quality was excellent. Drinks were good and fast service. Would recommend.

Recently had my birthday dinner at Moretti, the food is beyond delicious, the best item in the menu is definitely the Mac and Cheese pasta, one of the best pastas that I’ve had. The portion sizes were large, and the wait-time for the food was nice and short. The servers were all so kind, welcoming and friendly, and made the experience even better. The atmosphere of the restaurant is amazing, the restaurant itself is beautiful, and the environment is very aesthetically appealing. Would definitely recommend this place as a must try, 10/10.

We went on Sunday @ 5:45pm and it was emptyyyy lol, but then as the night went on it filled up (they open at 5pm). The atmosphere of the restaurant is so nice and cozy and the lighting level is perfect and the decor is very chic lol. We ordered calamari, fries, and a marg pizza to start, the pizza is delicious!! And for such a fancy restaurant the fries were nice and thick and well-portioned! Then we ordered a main pasta for each of us, and WOW! The pasta’s are SAUCEY and they’re al dente and nice and chewy, not too soft, and the portions are really big tooo, you could easily share them. Delicious experience and a lot of options for everyone !! The servers were very kind and accommodating as well and brought out a SCRUMPTIOUS tiramisu for my friends birthday (on the house) and the candle was subtle too. Great experience!! Will be returning & there’s also parking across from the hotel (but expensive, $15 for the evening :/) Also— believe it or not, pop has free refills lol (despite the fancy atmosphere)!

Google
Really really enjoyed this place!! The food was absolutely amazinggggg the gnocchi was so creamy and the filet mignon was perfectly cooked, highly highly recommend, my new go to spot for pasta in Toronto. The service was really good and our server checked in on us often, and the ambience of the restaurant is perfect for intimate date nights.

Yelp
I was in Toronto for business and my local friends picked this restaurant for our meetup. It was a wonderful experience. The food was great, authentic albeit a bit pricey. Service was attentive and we did not felt rushed at all. The ambiance felt sophisticated.

Yelp
We are from Michigan, and this was our second time to Moretti. Our first time was nearly two years ago, which is the last time we visited Toronto. We haven't stopped talking about the food since and couldn't wait to come back. After a 4 hour drive, it was our first stop! We ordered a vodka pasta and a truffle pasta, and both were excellent! My husband ordered some lamb chops as well, which he also really liked, and we ordered a Nutella pizza to go for later. We will definitely stop here every time we visit Toronto. The vibe, decor and ambiance is also very beautiful. Can't wait to come again!

Yelp
We just went for after dinner coffees and dessert and sat at the bar instead of a tables Place was fairly busy and loud but we were a little sheltered from the noise by sitting at the bar. Iced coffee and cappuccino were both well prepared and our desserts were beautifully displayed and tasted yummy. Our bartender was a delite and would chat to us while she was crafting drinks

Yelp
Pricey for what it is, but a decent place! Food was pretty tasty, would rate all of the dishes 4/5. My favourite from the fixed menu was the chicken Parmesan and the Rosé gnocchi. Atmosphere: 4/5 classy vibe but a little too loud, so couldn't really mingle properly. Service: 4.5/5 kind waiters and waitresses!

Yelp
When I pick where to eat, I usually have no interest in going to Italian restaurants. I'm a strong believer most Italian food, especially pastas, can be made at home. That's why when I find myself at Italian places, I usually go with pizza or an entree other than pasta. My sister, on the other hand, LOVES pasta. So when I forwarded her an Instagram pic of the gnocchi Cacio e Pepe and said it looked good, she did not waste time making us a reservation. When I first got there and sat down, I noticed how attentive the wait staff was. They immediately ran over and asked if I wanted flat or sparkling water. When I said tap was fine, I was told they only have bottled water. To be honest that was a red flag for me but oh well. I got sparkling and anytime I took a drink, someone rushed over to top off my glass, so I finished the bottle at least. My sister knew I was getting the gnocchi Cacio e Pepe but wanted to get the Arancini Cacio e Pepe to start. Honestly, having tried both, the Arancini was better. More flavourful and heavy on the pepper like a Cacio e Pepe should be. My gnocchi I actually found slightly bland in comparison. The mac n cheese tasted like rose. The food was alright but I was disappointed and the cost was high. It's a pretty place with crazy attentive service but for me, this wasn't worth the price. If someone likes Italian food it may be more worthwhile but id forgo the gnocchi in favour of the Arancini.

Yelp
Dined here for a Saturday night dinner and the food was phenomenal! We were greeted with a smile immediately by the manager/supervisor and they took care of us pretty much the entire night. They were fantastic! The interior was beautiful and seating was comfortable. There was a DJ around 8/9pm so it does get busier which is great if this is your first stop before going out. Our table of 4 ordered calamari, burrata pizza, fungi fettuccine , and Mac & cheese. The portions were great and it was a good amount for us. The Mac & cheese was the table favourite - very rich and creamy. Highly recommend for a fun and lively night!

Yelp
I came here for the first time on a Monday night for a friend's birthday. The atmosphere was good, but the service could have been better. On a busy night, I would understand if the service was slow due to the volume of guests, but on a Monday night, it was at most half full. We were a group of 20, so while that can be a lot, our server often took a while to take orders and even forgot a few items. I was surprised to find out that they do not have a drinks menu at all. Our server said they could make any standard drink as long as it was not blended. I opted for a Mojito ($22) and the Fetticune al Funghi ($38) and they were both pretty underwhelming. The Mojito tasted like store-bought lemonade and the pasta, while it had truffles listed as an ingredient, lacked flavour. It was also very salty. I asked if there was an option to add a protein, like grilled chicken to my pasta and they refused. What really frustrated me was that a few people ordered this pasta dish, but the portion sizes were so vastly different for each person. They were definitely not plated evenly. Lastly, they do charge for water whether you ask for it or not. They offer the choice of San Pellegrino Sparkling or Evian Flat They also do not split bills, so be prepared to bring cash if you are going in a group. Overall, I was not impressed by the service or the quality of food.

Yelp
Went to Moretti Tuesday evening just before 6pm with 2 friends. Got seated close to the windows as there were plenty of seats available. Someone came by to ask if we wanted to order a drink and that our server will be starting in about 4 minutes and will come do the rest. The server was over 5 minutes late and we had to flag over a server. There was no music playing and when it was turned on it kept going on and off... We ordered the fried seafood appetizer, the Mac and Cheese pasta with truffle paste and the mushroom fettuccine. The fried seafood platter was good but I've had better. The pasta for the Mac and Cheese was a little too al dente for us and the fettuccine was good but needed a bit more mushroom flavour imo. Our server came into work after we got our food. I'm glad we didn't wait for her. I would come back if it wasn't for the bad service. There were at least 3 or 4 servers not doing anything so ...service could've been better.

Yelp
This review is strictly about the breakfast experience. Surprisingly, Yelp lists restaurant as closed during the morning hours. As guests of the SOHO hotel, we opted to breakfast in the main restaurant. I would advise the smaller cafe for your breakfast meal. The cafe staff were professional, competent, and pleasant and had a greater selection to chose from. As for the restaurant, while the waiter was a pleasant young man, he was working with limited resources. He's was definitely trying his best but, seemed a bit flustered. Several items on the menu, (an already limited menu), were nit available. For example, with only white and wheat bread options, they were out of white. We opted for the eggs, over easy, with fingerling potatoes, prosciutto cotto, and what read like a hornet level butter and jams assortment, (the selling point for us). Sadly, the eggs, (while nice quality), came over medium. The prosciutto was just cheap ham. Something I'd expect to find prepackaged on a grocery store shelf. I instructed the waiter to not send the chef over. I already knew he'd defend the quality of the ham and we were more interested in our leisure than a ham debate. But, he came anyway, and the conversation went as expected. Minutes of our day lost to needless debate over ham. Note: If the chef is coming to my table, please don't come over in baggy sweats. Very unprofessional and un-appetizing. But, it's the butter and jams that were the final insult. I'll let the picture speak for itself. Don't go here for breakfast. I would like to add the the late night bar seen is hopping!

Yelp
I visited Moretti for the first time. We had a couple of waiters who bro if he is our food. After dinner, the second waiter brought us the bill. I paid in cash . The waiter then came over to me and, while showing me the cash I paid, asked me if the money was there. I told him yes. Then he looked T me and the money and actually expected me to give him a higher tip!!! I will never return to this place ever again. For a waiter to come back to ask for a higher tick is so petty and cheap!!
google avatar

Yelp
Top level food, staff and Ambiance. The who's who of Toronto comes here. Dress to impress. Make sure to get a reso always busy. Favourite things on the menu: Lamb chops Branzino fish is ridiculous Mac & cheese

Yelp
haha this place is petty and tries to run up the bill with water. So we got an $8.50 bottle of water with our dinner. We finished our pastas and our plates got cleared, we declined desert as we were full and we asked the waitress for our bill. That's when the waitress cracked open another $8.50 bottle of water without asking us. She did it so fast that I didn't even get the chance to tell her that we didn't want more water at this point. So in total we paid $17 for water. And..the 2nd bottle of evian we didn't even drink from it. What a waste when there are people in this country with no clean water. Moretti doesn't care about wasting water. You guys are wasteful and you think you are being smart by pushing water on people when they are asking for the bill and ready to leave. Also --- I have been coming here for a few years and usually they charge for the first bottle and the 2nd bottle is just tap water they have re-filled and they don't charge for it. But I guess either times are tough for Moretti or inflation is getting the best of them. Beware of their water scam!

Yelp
Recently visited Moretti. The ambience is really nice with a great vibe. The service is really good and they were very helpful, waitress helped us pick a nice bottle of wine. The food was really good, we tried a couple of their most recommended dishes. The portions were all just the right amount. Went there for a friends birthday celebration and we all really enjoyed :)

Yelp
Never going back even if I stay at Soho Met every year during tiff. Our waiters were really nice, but the manager was mad rude to my foreign guest (it was a business dinner). Nothing amazing about the food. I'd much rather walk few more mins, pay a few more bucks, and choose TOCA instead! No wonder it's never fully seated. Made sure to tip waiters well though cause they're actually great.

Yelp
A second location of a Montreal favourite inside the SoHo hotel. The decor is elegant, and the vibe is cool and upbeat for a Friday night. We reserved a spot for 7:30 on a Friday night and we were seated immediately. Service - excellent, waitress was attentive and nice; gave us suggestions and checked on us frequently. I would say this place is even over staffed to the point of being a bit distracting with how many people are walking around and touching each table. 1) parmigiana melanzane - eggplant Parmesan that is not greasy, it was absolutely delicious; I just wish there was more of it. 2) pizza Parma - unfortunately this came to our table lukewarm, it was still well made and tasty but we wish it had a bit more cheese and was hot. Under the prosciutto there wasn't much "fior de latte" as it states there should be on the menu 3) Mac and cheese - THIS IS A MUST! pasta was al dente, truffle flavour is on point, sauce is luscious and cheesy and creamy. I'm not sure why this is called Mac and cheese because it's a rose sauce, but either way it's absolutely delicious Taking off 1 star because they decided to seat a huge table of really noisy and obnoxious guests in the middle of the restaurant right behind us which was quite annoying. They were screaming and taking shots and banging into the back of their seats which was also the back of my seat. I couldn't even hear my partner or the server talk over their screaming which dampened the dining experience. Just a suggestion to probably plan seating a little better - you should anticipate that a group of 10+ is going to be loud and seat them away from the 2 top tables.

Yelp
Amazing visit from start to finish. Group of 3, we decided to split multiple dishes so we can try most of the menu. Ordered: - Polpette Di Carne - Calabrese Pizza - Spaghetti Al Nero Di Seppia - Mac and Cheese - Bombolini alla Nutella Perfect amount of food to share. The Mac and Cheese was so rich in flavour, it was my favourite dish of the night. Everything worked out to be $60~ p/p. Steep dinner prices but the quality exceeded my expectations. Great service as well.

Yelp
*Here's the -1 star* So last night my girls and I went to Moretti for the first time and for one of our birthday. Now, we had made reservations for 8:00pm. We made it on time, spoke to the manager/ hostess and he rudely told us to wait in the hotel lobby (which we did). Thinking it won't take too long for our table to be ready, 10 mins pass by, 20 mins pass by and we notice that another group of people were arguing with the same person about their reservation. So we asked and they told us that if we wanted a seat they can accommodate us in the hotel lobby café next door. Now mind you, you have to put a $50 deposit for a reservation, and we did not pay that to be seated elsewhere. We kept going back and forth with this man and he keeps telling us "you have to either wait or you can leave" now I get that the place is super popular and busy but have a little more respect and class for your customers. We were soo fed up that we decided to crowd up around the bar area, and notice that tables were being emptied and he kept insisting another group of people to go sit there even though they already have seats. An hour and a half later, we finally have our seat. *Here's the +4 star* If you could get pass the looooong wait? here comes the good part. Our waiter & busboy (sorry I can't remember their names) made our experiences the greatest. Because they knew that it was one of our birthdays and we had to wait a long time for our seats, they gave us complimentary 3 round of tequila shots, oysters platter and a mixed drink for our birthday girl. They were very attentive but not over bearing. I wish I could remember their name but they did get a BIG tip. *FOOD* Now, everyone knows about the rave of these dishes. Let me tell you, if I could have licked my plate clean? I would. We left nothing behind, not a spec of crumbs or sauces. Everything we ordered was excellent to our palette. If you're here to eat, it's worth the wait. *Dress code* Coming to a fine dining restaurant like Moretti, I thought it was casual to suit and tie kind of place. But NOPE!!! Not at all, you can basically wear whatever you feel comfortable in. So don't make the mistake I made. I would trade in the heels for sneakers if I only knew. I'M NOT TELLING YOU TO GIVE THIS PLACE A TRY, I AM TELLING YOU , YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE !!!!

Keemlin N.

Yelp
Staff was great, but manager was so rude, which made the food unenjoyable. Don't waste your money, strong pass.

Yelp
this is place is amazing! we came here for our team holiday dinner. there was just 4 of us on a friday night. service was amazing! our waitress was so friendly and polite. overall food 4/5 & gorgeous presentation. fried calamari 5/5 good portion for the price and the dipping sauce was really tasty too. kale salad 4/5 there was a olive tapenade that was really good with the chopped kale, cucumbers & cherry tomatoes! a little more dressing would be nice. homefries with spicy mayo 5/5 fresh crispy fries, lightly salted, mayo with a slight kick. grilled white asparagus 4/5 very good flavours but the portion is slightly small for the price. parmigiano reggiano, a yellow beet vinaigrette and candied walnut pieces. so good! fettuccine all'astice [lobster pasta] 3/5 pasta itself was kind of raw/very undercooked. flavours were good but it was too dry. needs more sauce. mac & cheese 5/5 this is one of their signature dishes i believe. there was a bit of a truffle paste on top that you mix all together. it was amazing! although a bit more sauce would be great! the mushrooms was too good! mmm! i highly recommend this dish! burrata pizza 5/5 the dough was amazing! good chewiness to it. generous portions of burrata on each slice [where most places only put one chunk in the middle]. if youre a pizza lover and cheese lover, you have to try this one!

Yelp
Service was quite slow but not terrible. Took a while for the server to come take our ordered because it was a busier night on a Sunday. I ordered the truffle Mac & Cheese because of the intriguing name and reading Yelp reviews that praised this dish. I rate it a 6/10. The rigatoni (tubular pasta) was tough, cold, a bit undercooked than I prefer it to be. The truffle to pasta ratio was too low. The truffle was also congregated all in the middle of the dish and made it hard to separate out to eat with other bites. Overall $30 for this dish was not worth it. My friends ordered other pastas - Tagliolini Funghi (7/10), Spaghetti al Nero di Seppia (9/10), and Pappardelle al Telefono (7/10). Worst part is they charge for water at $3 per seat. Drink up. The ambience of the store was the most redeeming factor - it's a comfortable, chic, candle-lit environment. Dress up if you wish!

Yelp
I had high hopes for this restaurant, since whenever I walk by the place is packed! Overall the food was decent, but I think is extremely overpriced for what you're getting. The charcuterie was underwhelming - at $24 I was hoping for something more than randomly-cut Cheddar and luncheon cold cuts. The truffle mac & cheese was good, but it is essentially penne alla vodka - you can get this at other restaurants for under $20.. not worth $30 (the truffle does not add much). The eggplant & pine nut pasta was also good, but not worth the price. The salad, however was good (and the only item worth paying the price for). The service also fell short - they didn't have a cocktail menu but also couldn't recommend me any drinks, felt rushed as they were trying to take our plates away before we were done eating.

Yelp
Don't be deceived by the stylish decor and beautiful bar inside the fashionable Soho hotel...food was to tell Nonna about. "Known" for their pizza, we ordered a Capriciosa that was frankly over cooked/ charred, bland and dry. Waitress was pleasant but service was very slow. Not many people there 7:30 on a Friday night (obviously for a reason....). Calzone all dressed was mediocre, much better than pizza! We also ordered fettuccine all'astice was flavourful and had small pieces of lobster. But expected as much or better for $36! Our experience was off to a bad start when I ordered a "Moretti" beer on tap and waitress informed me they had run out over the holidays... Nice place for drinks and ambiance but food is generally poor to mediocre and overpriced

Yelp
First and foremost, the service here is fantastic! Everyone is so attentive and accommodating, especially since it's a new place. First impressions are the most important. I'm loving all the truffle infused food, especially the mac n cheese. Unlike our delicious KD counterpart, they use a different pasta. And yeah this stuff is 100x better (sorry KD). What's unique about this mac is that Moretti uses a truffle paste, which is to die for! Other restos usually use a truffle infused oil but this stuff is legit. Please give it a try. The caesar salad was quite delicious as well, with crunchy croutons. The bacon crumble was more of a mix of crumble and strips. Simply delicious. The grilled octopus was very very delicious. The red sauce is a lil spicy but bearable. Seems to be tomato based. The edamame salad was tart and really compliments the dish. The octopus was charred perfectly and it was SO tender. Perfection. The only complaint is that you only get one tentacle. I could eat three of these easily. The tiramisu was absolutely decadent but light. A great classic. The texture from the crisp was delightful. Considering they're a new place, the cocktail wasn't as on par as it should have been. We ordered a Moscow mule and it was okay. A small blip. Just some transparency. FYI - Bathrooms are outside the resto, inside the hotel.

Yelp
Came here for my brother in laws birthday dinner. Overall the food was delicious and the restaurant was very beautiful and had an energetic vibe. I think there is some work to do since it's a newer restaurant... Took one star away for the service- it was a bit hectic (sat close to the kitchen) and many servers were around some seemed to be wandering. It took us a while to order some water and when we asked for regular water the waiter didn't ask if we wanted bottle or tap. We wanted tap but brought us bottled. I took another star away for the prices. For Italian food such as pizza and pasta I felt the items were over priced, and the quality wasn't any better than any other delicious Italian food you can get in the city... BUT the food was good! This is a great place to go with friends or on a date, I wouldn't recommend this place for a family dinner.

Lisa K.

Yelp
I have been to this place a couple of times and the food is beyond delicious!! Everything!! Insalata Moretti - The salad with watermelon and pistachio vinaigrette is amazing!! Arancini cacio e Pepe are the best freaking rice balls I have ever had. My favourite dish is the cappelletti burrata, which probably my most favourite pasta in the world. Yes, I've been to Italy! I have been too full for dessert but something to look forward to. Raspberry mojito is also super delish. You have got to try this place. My only complaint is that they play the music way too loud for dinner conversation. But who has time for conversation when you are trying to shove as much as possible into your mouth?? Ahhhhh, until next time..... And don't forget to make a reservation!!

Yelp
I'm actually pretty surprised and almost mind boggled at all the good reviews for this place. Coming into the restaurant my friend and I had gone in knowing that this place wouldn't be the greatest hence the bad rating for the restaurant. With some of the good reviews we thought, "hey why not give this place a try." We hadn't even set foot in the restaurant and immediately was greeted in such a rude and disrespectful way. I have no idea who the man at the front is but he has 0 interest in guests who do not cater towards the restaurants clientele. I have no issue with the guests here, but treat everyone the same because we're paying just as much for the disgusting food that's being served. We've also seen reviews about this and complaints about whoever that man is, and we were pretty shocked to have experienced it ourselves. Anyways, I give the restaurant 2 stars because only good thing was our servers, they were amazing and the ambiance was nice. Also white Sangria was good. The fritto misto dish we had was salty.. fish you could tell is old or frozen, shrimp was over cooked, and calamari was whatever ... I'd rate that 3/10 I already struggled choosing a main since a lot of the reviews about this place were already bad so I went with the famous Mac and cheese and surprisingly that was horrible. The pasta was undercooked , definitely not al dente, more like raw... like how do you mess up pasta? I had chunks of cheese in the pasta which was overwhelming to bite into and it was such a heavy dish. I don't even think the sauce was that special I'd give that a 2/10. The lady besides me didn't even eat half her pasta after packing it up and I should've known it wasn't good just by seeing that. We also had a pizza (Calabrese) and again nothing special, it was pretty mediocre, 5/10. We also saw so many people leaving with take out boxes for their pizza and we should've known from there that the pizza wasn't good. Overall as a foodie and someone who loves food and loves trying new restaurants in the GTA, this place is not it! Save your money and actually try other Italian restaurants out there that's worth your money. This place was just such a let down and I'm never one to write bad reviews but I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Yelp
Holy crap! What an underrated place! I came here with cousins to visit another cousin on a shift. It's so fancy even though it doesn't look like much from the outside. I felt so underdressed when walking in, even though not many people were inside. The people working in there said they were glad we came before more people came in, so I'm assuming lots of people have visited already. The food was really good. I definitely recommend trying their pizza (duh it's in the name), pasta, and seafood. Also, the rack of lamb and steak is really good!!! *pls note that this is an extremely expensive restaurant and that half the items we got were on the house due to having a cousin work there. The rack of lamb and steak is like $20-30 for a few racks (3-5)

Yelp
Called to make a reso for 5people, person who picked up said that its a min $85 spend per person spend, i think he is mistakeing a restaurant for a club. Never heard of a rule that a a group must spend $85 per person to reserve a table. Go else where.

Yelp
Poor Service: Came in mid-week for our 5:30 PM reservation. Our waitress did not engage in conversation with us. Strictly asked us what we wanted to eat and drink. Also rushed us with the bill after our desserts. We stay seated 10 minutes after paying and she came back and asked us to leave because the table was reserved for 7PM. I'd understand if we stayed for several hours and if there was a line out the door but we just finished eating and the restaurant was literally half empty with most of the wait staff standing around chatting. Food was good but a bit pricey. Won't come back because of the service. Should have read the google reviews before going.

Yelp
This place came recommended by a friend in Montreal and I was quite excited to try it, So I booked a Christmas dinner for my group of 7. Upon arrival, no one greeted us, no one took coats or asked if we needed anything after we were seated. 20 minutes later, our server arrived. The pros here is that the pizza was pretty good, and the menu items seem well-thought our, but here's where the cons come in. 1) Everyone's entrees contained a large amount of red hot chilli peppers. It didn't matter if it was a pasta, risotto, or chicken, we spent a majority of the night pulling the chillis out of our dishes. 2) My friend's tiramisu came out tasting sour, as though it had gone bad. 3) I advised my server at the start of the meal that I have a severe allergy to berries and my Eli-pen is in my purse but I'd like to make sure we don't have to use it. My dessert came out covered in berries. After pulling away from the table, I told the server, to which she gave me an ambivalent and lack-luster "sorry" but the proceeded to do NOTHING about it and charge me for the dessert that I couldn't eat. This seemed to be her response to all of the issues that I mentioned above and advised her of. When we asked for the person in charge, she told me they don't come out but she would pass the message along. I doubt this happened. I personally would have to be convinced to go back and would not recommend this place to friends again.

Yelp
The restaurant was pretty empty when we went on a Monday evening. The staff all followed safety precautions and were constantly cleaning and sanitizing once guests had left. The truffle Mac n Cheese was delicious but it was really heavy and salty after a couple bites. The lobster fettuccine was soooo good and there was a good amount of small lobster pieces throughout the pasta. Would definitely come back and try their other pasta. The drink I got was recommended by our sever, but I didn't really enjoy it because it had a weird aftertaste but that's purely because I only enjoy very sweet cocktails like Peach Bellini. Overall, our dining experience was very enjoyable and the restaurant had really nice ambiance.

Yelp
Disappointing.... Calamari was just mediocre and VERY overpriced! Served with 2 sauces which were NOT fresh!Very lacklustre and NO I won't be going there again! No thanks!

Yelp
Loved it. Will definitely be back. On the more pricey side. Beautiful inside. Had the highly praised truffle mac, which was yummy. Attentive staff, was constantly checking on us.

Yelp
I ate here twice a few weeks back. The food was very good, the service was attentive, the atmosphere was comfortable. I had the tuna and a pizza (not on the same visit). Both were really good. Prices are reasonable, wine list is approachable. I'm happy this place is here. I've not found a good Italian place in this area yet. This is my go-to when solo now.

Yelp
You need to come here! The Mac and cheese and the gnocchi are must orders. My friends enjoyed their lamb, steak and calamari as well. This is a beautiful place for dates or special celebrations. The place is beautifully decorated.

Yelp
The food was fine, desserts fine, service fine. The fact that they didn't serve tap water ? ... ridiculous. It's absurd to think they didn't serve tap water. The water is safe to drink here in Toronto. Why was I forced to buy bottled water? If there had been a sign of some sort, or notice posted, I would not have chosen this Italian restaurant out of the MANY in Toronto to go to.

Yelp
The food is amazing, my favourite Italian in the city. Usually service is great too. However, "Ver", probably short for Veronica, gave us the worst service we have ever gotten. I have never been one to complain about service and never leave reviews, but it was that bad lol. She was not only totally incompetent but also genuinely careless and rude. We were patient and respectful even as she made repeated mistakes, but when we finally were forced to flag her over since our food hadn't come out for 45 minutes and she hadn't come to check on us once in an empty restaurant, she had a huge attitude, blamed the kitchen, and made repeated rude comments the whole night. Hopefully she's not there anymore and it was a one off because the food is BOMB

Yelp
Service is amazing here as the food came out almost immediately after we ordered. We ordered the Mac and Cheese and Gnocchi with black truffle. Both were delicious with subtle hints of truffle which I love!! The food was on the salty side but overall enjoyable.

Yelp
The worst service I have ever had in my life, do not waste your money and time here. I would give negative stars if I could. Management is disgusting. To start the night we were greeted by the manager right after he was having a cigarette outside, he made no eye contact with us and sat us at a table. The table wasn't touched for awhile and when it finally was our server told us the kitchen was closed but she will check if it's still open. A second sever came and asked us if we wanted water I said "yes just tap water is fine". She comes back with still bottled water pours it and leaves. The first server comes back, says the kitchen is open now. We order apps and cocktails and ask about the water. She explains that they don't serve tap water because of corona. Only $5 bottled water and that many people have complained. We order our mains, the apps come we take two bites and decide to talk to the manager to ask about the water situation. The manager explains that they charge for water because they don't want poor people coming to the restaurant, sitting, eating and just drinking water. We tell him it is illegal to not offer tap water when serving alcohol. He says the owner knows it's illegal but he doesn't care, if you come to Moretti and you can't pay for water then they don't want you as a customer, they only want people that will buy bottles. He told us if we don't want to pay for water we can go to the pizza place down the street. At this point our bill is about $300 and we were ready to order a bottle of wine as well, but after this disgusting conversation with the manager we told him our mains are probably ready soon but we are leaving. We got up and walked away from our untouched cocktails and apps. We make it a bit down the street when the manager comes up behind us asking why we are leaving without paying and proceeds to call us poor people. Shouting "POOR PEOPLE!! POOR PEOPLE!!" as he is walking back to the restaurant. My partner and I both managers in the service industry and we were completely shocked and confused by this whole experience. We went to Hy's after for an amazing meal and service, the water was on the house.

Yelp
I have been to this place twice. So this is my rating for 2 visits. First time was good, nice service and food. Second time, service was lacking. Had to always ask for water refill or a napkin. Not sure if they were understaff but seemed like they had a lot of staff. Good vibe so could be a great spot but service is important. Food was quite nice but price was on the higher end. Guess we will see what experience I get for the third time.

Yelp
This place just opened a few months ago and needs more attention! The food is truly fantastic Italian - both the pizza and the pasta dishes are great. Good setting for group gatherings. Highly recommend

Yelp
The evening started off with us walking in to a group of servers taking sexy selfies in the mirror. We sat down and the ambiance was very nice, we got waters right away and were served promptly. The appetizers were very good, but looking back we only think they were so good because we were starving. After the appetizers service got really slow, I ordered the lasagna but then our waitress came back and said they had no lasagna. It was a Friday night at 6, how did they have no lasagna at an Italian restaurant? They were also out of a significant number of soft drinks that made ordering cocktails difficult. My brother had the steak and my dad had the salmon which they both enjoyed but thought it could be better for the price. I had the sea bass which was good, but the ratio of fish to rice was sooooooo off and It could have really used some veggies to balance out the plate. My mom had the seafood pasta which she found ok. Ultimately this placed was very over priced and overrated. Our bill came to over $500 with the tip which is outrageous considering the food and service. Our waitress got a $50 tip which she did not deserve considering her service and attitude. I think we all felt a little scammed leaving there. Needless to say we will not be going back.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a long time because i heard very good things about their food, but no one warned me about their service. I booked a reservation over the phone (which is clearly someone's cellphone) for two people at 7:30pm. We arrived and we were seated quickly (by a man dressed in a hoodie who was drinking on the job) but that was expected because they were not that busy; there were plenty of open tables. The atmosphere was loud but i expected that from the prior reviews. Our server brought us our water & then never returned to take our order. We waited about 30 minutes before we ran down another server to take our order. She was kind and treated us well. She put in our order & brought us our food with no problem, as expected from any other restaurant. We ordered the mac & cheese, the steak with brussel sprouts & fries & the chicken parm. I have no complaints for the food. The mac & cheese, however, was a little bit too cheesy, like after a few bites you feel sick of it, but that's not much of a complaint considering some people like that lol. Anyways, she brought us our bill & we gave her the cash with her tip. When we were about to leave, she asked me for more tip... $25 MORE tip. she brought up how the standard is 18% gratuity which i understand, but it's not like i didn't tip her ?? i shouldn't have given her more tip but i was shocked at the fact that she had the nerve to even ask. i know there are people out there who don't even tip, but i did, so why come and pester me for MORE tip?? i'm still dumbfounded on the thought of that. I got home & it still didn't sit right with me, so i called the restaurant to speak with the manager and the phone was off ?¿ eventually, they answered the phone & i asked to speak with the manager regarding a complaint & they told me to call back on monday & hung up the phone before i can say another word. I'm so confused as to how a restaurant with such good food can have such bad service. The food was good, but NOT THAT GOOD for me to ever show up again and experience this type of service.

Yelp
Got to try the Mac and cheese and it was amazing! So creamy and delicious. Lobster pasta was great as well if you don't want something cheesy. Calamari was fresh as well. Would definitely be returning to try the other pastas!

Yelp
I know that one person cannot speak for the entire staff, however, I will never attend this restaurant or even recommend it to anyone. The person I spoke to over the phone was nasty, unpleasant and awful. I had dinner reservations for 8 p.m. on Valentine's Day. Girls being girls, of course we were running a bit late. I had the courtesy to call the restaurant to advise that I am on the way and that I will be about 15 minutes late. The person on the phone then advised that they will not hold the table past 10 - 15 minutes. We decided that we were going to go somewhere else instead since we did not want to drive all the way downtown (we are coming from Brantford) and risk not having a table on one of the busiest days of the year. I call the restaurant back, again, extending the courtesy to let them know that they may give our table away. Instead of appreciating the fact that I had called them to let them know, the employee then said (in these exact words) "Just know that it is 7:42 p.m. on Valentine's Day". I confusedly asked "what does that mean"? He then proceeded to tell me how it is "not cool" that I am cancelling the reservations. I further explained that I wanted to attend the restaurant and explained my situation. He rudely cuts me off and tells me that he will flag my name for future reservations. I asked for his name and his response was "what does it matter?". I requested to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager then hung up on me. I am shocked and appalled how the "manager" had handled the situation. The customer service is extremely ugly. I am in absolute disbelief that it was the manager who had treated a caller/potential customer this way and that it was someone who is the supposed to be the face of the restaurant. If I can give negative stars, I absolutely would. Go ahead Morretti, flag my name because I will never make a reservation here again.

Yelp
Looove it here, truffle Mac and cheese is a must, all the pasta here is great. Service is good and love that they started doing delivery during covid. Ordered once and food was well packed travelled well, tasted as good as when it's fresh in the restaurant

Yelp
My girlfriends and I went to this restaurant for our Christmas dinner last night (December 14th). The food was amazing we ordered the Mac and cheese pasta, the lobster pasta, and the margarita pizza and the Nutella bombe. My only concern was once we were done paying (we all got separate bills as some of us ordered drinks, others did not etc). The waitress went over to my 2 girlfriends and told them that she needed a better tip from them because she needs to make a quota etc so she asked them if the service was bad and that was the reasoning as to why they tipped her the way that they did... even if they did not tip well, which they did, I do not think that was professional of her to flat out say she needs more of a tip. Negin (our waitress) was extremely rude and all she did was take our orders and came back around when it was time to pay. Another man (I don't remember his name) came to bring us our food and our drinks and would check up on us to fill our waters etc so what kind of tip did she expect to get? I understand that tips are how she gets extra cash on top of her current pay rate however, tipping is not mandatory, it is a curtesy. If you are unhappy or expect to get tipped a certain way then this is not the industry for you. What I choose to tip is my business based on what my bill is and your service. And not to mention one of the girls payed in cash and she stood there and counted it in front of us!! I was extremely disappointed that we had to end our nice evening in that way. This makes me question who else she has gone up to and request for more of a tip? Extremely unprofessional and extremely rude of her to do this. My friend gave her more money on top of the tip she gave as she felt very uncomfortable and Negin would not leave our table and continued asking for more of a tip. Would I recommend this place for food, yes, absolutely. However, I will warn people about the waitresses there and to be cautious of how the waitresses expect a lot of money for doing barely any work. I would never ask people for more money, completely unacceptable!! Another thing about this place is that once we finished eating she pushed the bill right away, while we were eating she kept coming to take plates away that still had food in it. There was no line and there were other tables available if anyone walked in. I don't think that's professional of a place to pretty much kick you out right after you took your last bite of the meal, a get in and out type of vibe.... be on the look out for waitresses just standing around near the kitchen as well. These are just some things we noticed!
