Where to Eat in Milan, According to the 'Top Chef' Judges

"A reliable spot for traditional Neapolitan-style pizza, run by an owner with several pizzerias; the pies evoke the classic pizzas of Naples and meet high standards for those who favor authentic, old-school crust and toppings." - Laura Itzkowitz

This was the second best pizza that I had in Napoli. The dough really is fantastic, obvious high hydration, tasty too! The menu is really interesting, I found it hard choosing a pizza. I would absolutely go back here. What I will say is that the bottom of the pizza lacked that traditional thin, light but crisp texture. Other than that, I had a lovely experience. Wine was also great!

We tried two of their best-selling pizzas, but they tasted quite similar to each other. The dough was thicker than we expected, and while the pizzas weren’t bad, they didn’t leave a strong impression. Maybe we’ve just had better pizza elsewhere, so our expectations were a bit higher.

Google
Best Pizza in Napoli by far ... crust is oit of this world, very flavorful, airy, slightly burnt on the outside yet soft from the inside. The variety and creativity of the pizza topings is on point ... we tried a couple of them and the ingredients were so fresh and tasty. Would definitely pass by again. Note: expect a long queue in high season.

Capuano’s Pizzeria delivers an Authentic Contemporary Neapolitan EXPERIENCE! The Pizza is simply OUTSTANDING: Huge & Puffy Crust, Fresh, High-Quality Ingredients, and a Balance of Flavors that keeps you coming back for more. The Service was Good, though not extraordinary, but definitely no complaints. The Atmosphere is Cozy and Modern, though it could have a little more warmth. Overall, if you’re looking for Top-Tier Neapolitan pizza, this is the spot. Highly Recommend!

An amazing experience! This was the best pizza & service that we encountered in all of Italy. The high quality taste of the ingredients, and the fresh & airy crust way surpassed my expectations. If you don't believe me, then you must search for Vincenzo Capuano's intoxicating videos. It's the real deal!! He makes the art of pizza making look so effortless. A true pizza professional! On the advice of our local tour guide, we started with the Potato Croquette appetizer. The filling is a delicious smoked provola cheese from the mountains. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but the camera didn't eat first. The order comes with 2 large croquettes for sharing. Absolutely delicious! After that, we ordered our pizzas. I selected the Pizza Frittta Completa, and he went with the Come Una Capricciosa. We figured it would be a small portion based on the price. We were wrong. Especially the stuffed and fried pizza. I could have easily shared that one. I've never had anything like it. The filling was an explosion of different flavors. The fried dough was light as air. It's so unique! My husband's pizza was just as fantastic. I didn't get to try it, but he kept commenting on the light crust & freshness of the hand crushed tomatoes and provola cheese. He consumed all of it. Honestly, everything was delicious! This place has changed my view of Neapolitan pizza. I've never been a fan of soggy middles, but this was different. The service was actually very good here. We were able to somehow communicate between our very broken Italian, and their better than average English. The menus are in Italian but you can pull up the english version using the QR code at the table. There are desserts, but we didn't get to try them. There is indoor and covered outdoor seating. This place was packed with local clientele after 1pm. It's very popular. Don't skip it when near Piazza del Plebiscito. I'm still craving that delicious Pizza Fritta.

I enjoyed Capuano’s pizza far more than Sorbillo’s, which is just around the corner. Sorbillo has become a commercial powerhouse, loud, crowded, and focused on moving volume. Capuano, by contrast, feels more intimate and still respects the art of Neapolitan pizza. The dough is light and airy, the ingredients top-notch, and the combinations are anything but generic. The mortadella pizza with pistachio was a standout, subtle yet indulgent. We also tried the Diabolo, which struck a perfect balance between spicy and savory without overpowering the base

Google
Last meal in Napoli . Great Pizza , meets my expectations. The raw shrimp salad is excellent. The pizza dough is amazing. I don't like the Lemon cake. Cheese cake is very good. I went to so many pizzeria like Diego, Brandy, 3.0 etc. Our opinion, This is the best , I did mean others are not good, they all are delicious. I don't think I will be back to Napoli any time soon, so as my last stop , it was great . The restroom is very clean by the way

Google
A very good pizza. Not the best I've ever had, but close - dough is light and has a good flavour, sauces are strong. Seasoning was a little off but you can see why this place is popular

Yelp
Delicious Pizza! Make sure to order from the award winning Puzza section! The drinks were great and the bathrooms so clean!

Yelp
We wanted to grab a late night meal once we arrived in Naples. This was walking distance from our hotel and our hotel concierge recommended it. It did not disappoint! I ordered a whole Margherita pizza con bufola - it's so good that I finished the entire thing!

Yelp
Absolutely hands down the best Pizza I had on my recent trip to Naples! The staff was very friendly and I can't say enough about how amazing the pizza tasted!

Yelp
In the birthplace of Pizza, we found an amazing place serving what is billed as the best. We'll, it did not dissapoint!! With amazing service and atmosphere the only thing left to Complete the night was the food, again...amazing a slightly different pizza than is strictly traditional but man oh man was it good. The freshness of the flavors and the quality of the dough the pizza was about as good as I could ever imagine. 10/10 would come again

Yelp
Our Trastevere (Rome) food tour guide told us that Napoli stuffed pizza (which I assumed were calzones) is a must-have, and so we yelped Vincenzo! First bite in, you'll notice the rich flavors that come from their ovens (perfect charring) and their perfectly soft and airy doughs. Out of all pizzas we've had in Italy so far, theirs had a soupyness below their extra cheesy exterior. These elements combined, creating a unique flavoring and texture to pizza. It may not necessarily be for everyone, but it's definitely worthwhile trying at least once! And for others, many, many more times! We got their: - Champion Pizza €12 - Calzone Classico €9.5

Yelp
Our first pizza in Naples. Exceptionally good. The service was great too. We ate outside and it was just amazing

Yelp
The food was good and the staff was nice. There are several heaters in the outdoor patio so it won't get too cold. The ambiance was casual.

Yelp
Although Napoli's "true" Pizza, the Margherita, was born in 1889 there has been something of a revolution over the past decade, and at Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano the fourth generation Pizzaiolo has continued to push past rigid VPN guidelines with what many call "Cloud" style. Located at Piazza Vittoria 8, within eye-shot of the water in Naples' Mergellina district, guests will find Capuano's Pizzeria occupying a tiny corner, and open from 12h00 through 16h00 and 19h00 to midnight daily the availability of online reservations allows for minimal wait before seating. Regarded as sacrilege by purists, but bolstered by Caputo's newest Neapolitan Flour, it is with respect for tradition that 30-year old Vincenzo has taken note of global trends to produce an entirely unique Pie, the "Nuvola" base high in both Fiber as well as minerals which allows for easier digestibility and a more pronounced flavor. Fermented for just over 24-hours, but developing a unique softness that takes well to char without becoming bitter, a good way to first experience the base is fried, Capuano's Dough forming glass-like bubbles with inherent sweetness like a Croissant that pairs well to slow-cooked Ragu, Cheese and Basil. Embracing the high expectations of his family name, but unafraid to take chances, a look at Vincenzo's list of Pizzas runs the gamut from classic to New Age, and no matter what one selects Ingredient quality comes first and foremost, the "Tetti Illuminati" a textural masterpiece marrying Mortadella to Pistachios while Pizza Abbraccio e Mamma puts handmade Meatballs inside a Cornicione stuffed with Ricotta before drizzling the whole round with Fondue.

Yelp
Between 2 and 3... 2.5? This was one spot I felt was a tourist trap. The quality of ingredients (at least the day I had it) was lacking. Especially the cheese. Not sure where they are sourcing the 'formagio' but it was tasteless and did not chew like other mozzarella from other pizzerias. The dough was much thicker than other pizzas I have had - so much so that I had a ton of leftover crust. It may be sacrilegious to say... but I have had better Neapolitan pizza in Los Angeles. That can never be the case in Napoli!

Yelp
This place was everything I hoped from a Napoli Pizzeria and more! In a great location right on the water, Pizzeria Vincenzo Capuano offers you a nice variety of yummy pizzas and great service without the wait and crowdedness of the more touristy Gino Sorbito Lievito Pizzeria around the corner. I ordered the classic Margherita Pizza (invented in Naples) and the freshness of the ingredients was to die for...particularly the hand crushed tomatoes that made up the basis of the pizza sauce!
