I had never been to PJs. To start off with (I was there with my 80-year-old mother and 82-year-old father) we were unceremoniously seated in a booth and I asked to move because the AC vent was right above my mother's head. The manager, I think his name was Jace, seemed annoyed, but moved us to the back and slapped down the menus and left.
We ordered the mozzarella triangles and edamame for appetizers and both my parents got the new England clam chowder.
My parents raved about the New England clam chowder, and the mozzarella triangles were fresh, crispy, and hot. But unfortunately, that is where the good food ended.
In the past, when I have gotten edamame it has always been piping hot, fresh, and sprinkled with flaky sea salt. The edamame that I got was lukewarm, grainy, with no salt to be found. I apologetically asked our server to take it away, apologizing because I never do this. She replied., "I don't care, I didn't cook it"
Then, our entrées arrived. I had ordered the crabcakes. Now I don't know about you, but whenever I get crab cakes they are usually hot, with lumps of crab llightly fried or sautéed. I got two hockey pucks. I really wish I had taken a picture. They seem to have been previously frozen and microwaved, with no Crab taste at all!
And so again, I apologetically asked the server to take them away as there was no way I was paying market price for crabcakes that didn't even taste like crabcakes.
My parents had ordered the hot lobster roll. right away my mom complained that the lobster meat was very tough. and hard to chew also saying that there was hardly any flavor, but they both ate it, saying they would make do.
When our server presented our check, my mom asked to speak to the manager, assuring the server it would not affect her tip.
Our server seemed annoyed. Why didn't you say something? she asked. I could've brought you something that you would like. I really didn't love the way she was talking to my parents, but she said she would get the manager. When she walked in the back, I heard her yell, "Jace!".
But when she returned to take the money, Jace was nowhere to be found, so we just left.
All in all, very disappointed, and we won't be back
